An excellent south Indian veg restaurant... Foods are finger liking good... The chutneys served here are just outstanding... Tried a lot of South Indian restaurants over Agra... But this the best.... Myself a South Indian... So rest all can blindly try this one indeed... Services are excellent polit and good...
Amazing food Service and ambience is fine. U will love to eat here and it’s reasonable also. So it have not much impact on ur pocket. All in all very nice place to eat
Very Good South Indian food and also Good Ambience !!! Sambhar was a bit out of taste because of less chilly otherwise all in all a very good cheap and one of the best South Indian restaurants in Agra
Restaurant is well maintained and the staff is really good if you are looking for a South Indian food you must visit it once....surely gonna love it....keep it up👍🏻
It was a very nice south Indian restaurant till few years back but now the quality has come a little down..This has now become just an average place to have south Indian food at in Agra..May be due to better chains coming in the city or some other reasons, they are not able to cope up with the competition..I would recommend them to improve the quality a little bit.
On the cost side, it was cost effective.the staff and the service was above the expectations and it was very nice..
One can try going there as usually dosas are all the same everywhere.
One of the best and oldest South Indian restaurants in Agra, even listed in lonely planet. One of the best place to have lachcha parantha and kurma in Agra. Have been going to this place since my childhood, probably the first South Indian restaurant I went to. Love the food their, the quality is good , the place is neat and clean. The staff is also very warm and caring. Food is very nice and authentic Especially the thali, onion uthapam, onion dosa, and the best coconut chutney.
Oldest south indian restaurant of Agra I guess. It used to be hit back in the days. Everything is still the same here and that's the thing that lacks here 'change'. It's same since ever. Food is good but everything else is just basic.
I love this place cause it's pocket friendly and my best buddy when I have a rava dosa craving. The service is quick. The decor is simple. Food is good. Smiling people and good food is all you need after all specially during those end of the month outings.
One of the oldest South Indian Veg Restaurants in Agra. Nice ambiance and friendly staff. They are accepting Paytm also after the recent demonetization. We have ordered Dahi Vada, Malabaar Paratha, Masala Dosa and Garlic Noodles.
Dahi Vada is being served with Boondi mixed over the top of the Dahi Vada, this is awesome and a must try. We've ordered an extra serving for us. Malabar Paratha served with Kurma (Gravy item), Dahi & Anchaar is also good. Other Items taste as usual. Its a good place for family dinner.
Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5.
Simply awsum must visit place in the city of taj....if u really want to have authentic south indian cuisine....must taste onion uttapam.....
"Lakshmi vilas "- name describes itself .....the oldest South Indian restaurant serving it's delicacies from past 60yrs and still maintaining its quality and taste.
Visited this place with my family and was full packed with customers.... At that peak time too
Service 5 stars
Quality 5stars
Taste. 5 stars
Deco. 5 stars
We totally enjoyed it ....especially the Malabar paratha. And dahi vada ....😍and paper dosa is crispy and worth too eat ......
Must visit place ......better than other South Indian restaurants in Agra ......
Serving agra for more than 40 years!!We have been here with our family for almost a couple of years!!! That one thing which remains the same is the taste which they carry !!! After the renovation.....it's luking awsum with the taste too!!! Especially the Malabar paratha and Dahi vada !!! Sambhar, dosa, idly usual the same taste !!!one word to describe this place is its simply awsum !!
The only reason for this restaurant not shining among the top ones is because of the morbid ambience prevailing here.
Though south indian is their forte ..I'll not recommend their upma or the thali. What is lip smacking is their poori sabji..sabji especially.. And their masala dosa
Bon apetit!
Amazing food at great prices and excellent service. Surprised to see such a great South Indian restaurant at Agra. It is a must visit place.
This is the best place in Agra if you want to taste southindian foods. The ambience is not up to the mark but the quality of the food is good. You can taste various types of dosa, idli and other southindian dishes here. As far as the cost is concerned it little bit costly.
Lakshmi Vilas is one address every auto wala knows of. Its popularity is so much among people that getting there can never be a hustle for anyone. Food is outstanding. Paneer Masala Dosa is my favourite. And in the end Lassi is must for me. A must visit for South Indian food lovers.
The Lakshmi Vilas is the most oldest South Indian restaurant in the city of taj. This restaurant serves typical South Indian food And the service of this restaurant is also good !! A must visit place for South Indian food lover in city of taj !!
The oldest Idli Dosa Tiffin room of Agra. Was an extremely popular place especially for morning take aways. It continues to have its loyal and old customers. The ambience and decor has changed little over the years and certainly needs a face lift considering the newer competition while the food quality also needs more detail and variety. The cusine is mainly South Indian with a few North dishes on the menu. The idlis are soft and light while the vadas could be lighter and not a trifle stogy as at present. The sambhar is tasty but needs to work on to be more authentic in taste. The rava dosa and utthapam are quite tasty and nice.A good place to have a quick meal but not to hang around too long as seating is not exactly 'relaxing'. Prices have gone up but is still very reasonable and not pocket pinching.
Going there since i was a kid !! Cheap and best south indian a one can get in the city if taj !! Amazing service and delicious food !
some old memories here. have been here almost since a toddler and it not the pinnacle it was once.
serves some of the best South indian i have had in agra and around.
pretty old now from inside( been more than a year since i went). cant say i know the taste now but for the childhood days i would rate it 4 and coz i know the taste was unmatchable. i may try again once i visit there. :)
i guess still the only authentic South indian around SADAR.
We had a craving for South Indian Food and found this gem!
So we had ordered a Dosa platter which included a Idli, masala Dosa (onion uttapam ) another option. Medu Vada, tomato rice.
The best of all was masala Dosa. We like tomato rice so much that we ordered another bowl.
For starters, we had Paneer chilli which had a nice crispy taste.
"I recently dined at Lakshmi, an Indian restaurant in Agra. The experience was truly exceptional. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, with beautiful Indian decor that added to the overall experience.
The menu offered a wide range of Indian dishes, from classic favorites like butter chicken and biryani to some unique regional specialties. I opted for the butter chicken, and it was a flavor explosion in every bite. The chicken was tender, and the sauce had the perfect balance of creaminess and spices.
The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who were happy to explain the menu and make recommendations. They ensured a delightful dining experience from start to finish.
I also appreciated the restaurant's efforts in maintaining hygiene and safety protocols, especially during these times.
Overall, I highly recommend Lakshmi Vilas to anyone looking for an authentic Indian dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance exceeded my expectations, making it a memorable evening. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their delightful offerings."

In Agra almost every restaurant and food counter is serving south Indian good
But only very few are serving the authentic taste,
Being a foodie and a authentic taste lover, you may surely like Laxmi vilas
My friends are fond of the their Rasam
Sambhar was also good in taste
Spices of South Indian food you can actually feel in terms of taste and aroma both.
This place can be recommended to anyone who wish to explore good taste of South.
Nice , polite and Humble old age staff responds quickly to serve you better.
Must visit type place
Let's conclude it like
-Serving food in steel utensils like home
-Good parking space
-Good taste
-Fast service ,quick response
-Authentic taste
This 60 years old place surely amazed me with it’s food and how it’s maintaining the food quality. I was amazed to see people coming in afternoon to have such delicacies. Not a moment when this place has no person inside eating something or other.
The food I had was freshly made and quite delicious. The famous family dosa was good in size and taste as well; served with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, cooked potatoes veg and sambhar. Sambhar was delectable undoubtedly. Next on the table was a Chinese cuisine- veg Manchurian and honey chilli potato. Both were good in taste. Cheese uttapam was the next level dish. Only the thing missing was some crispness. But cheese was much fulfilling. Pineapple Kesari bhaat was a delicacy indeed! Perfect sweetness and cooked in ghee.
The real South indian taste. Dosas are really savour along with sambhar. The delivery is faster than expected for a large order. The staff is humble as well. Good to go and enjoy south indian food. Only the prices are at a higher side.
If you are in agra and you should visit this place for food. From the moment I landed in agra I found that all taxi, Auto drivers are trying to scam you. They try to grab as much money as they can from you. You need a skill to survive from them. However very surprisingly I found this place exactly opposite. South Indian food is really awesome here. More than food the people are very nice. They tried their best to serve us with quality food with genuine service. I ate then took parcel as well. I owe a big thanks to these people for giving such a nice food + hospitality. I the middle of scammers this is one place in agra which will make you feel worth visiting. Thanks to the owner and all the employees of laksmi niwas. You people deserve full rating.
Lakshmi Villas is a 64 years old south indian joint.
I have been going here since i was 10 years old.
The taste of food has not changed even a bit.
They still use exactly same amount of ghee(which i absolutely love), the same amount of mild spices in their food (which my family absolutely adores) and the same old smile on their staff's faces while greeting us all.
Recently, #thehapsisquad was invited for a tasting and we tasted the following,
1. Dahi vada: it was soft, basically melting in my mouth and had the boondi which gave it the crunch it needed🌼
2. Filter coffee: all anybody could say while drinking it is "Ahhhhh..." it was that good.🌼
3. 4ft. Family dosa- it was enough for 6 people and it tasted crispy and sambhar was good as always!🌼
4. Malabar Parantha- i could actually see the different layers of parantha which is a clear indication of how well it was prepared. Also the curry it was served with was tasty as hell🌼
5. Cheese uttpam- it's a must try at this place, it was gobbled in seconds.😅
6. Kesar Pineapple bhaat- top notch quality! 🌼
Apart from South Indian food we also had some chinese, which also was very yum! Honey chilli potatoes were crispy and the flavours it had complimented the crispiness.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
All that is left is they need to improve on the ambience a bit, it's been the same for a very long time.
Overall a must visit!🌟🌟🌟🌟

In south indian foods categories tastes are not upto to real South India. We can't expect that in north India. Food tastes are altered to North Indian customers. Maybe they will like that more. But as a South Indian i am not satisfied. But good.
