If u want to have really good authentic Gujarati food this place is the best amongst all Gujarati restaurants. The ringan odo , bhakhri rotlo and mung dal halwa is must order. If u have a non gujju guest take them here they will love it.

Ambience
Absolutely fabulous.. It's a great green property with tiny lakes , small bridges , stone themed village decor bathed in beautiful yellow light . Cots with pillows will be lying around and they have a huge seating capacity of around 170 . The seating is so varied and so spread out , you'll never feel crowded . There is space and privacy .
Traditional music and dance is available for entertainment where you'll be served a welcome drink.
From here you can explore and go wherever you want . To the cute puppet show or maybe get some mehendi designs or have your future told by the astrologer.
You can go straight for dinner too .
FOOD
Everything they serve is authentic and delicious. The menu keeps changing .
What I had was
Welcome drink
Salad platter having cut vegetables , chutneys ( Green , Garlic , Khajur ) Athanu , Marcha
A dry salad made of Dal
Four sabzis - Bataka raswala , Cholafali , Ringan dungri and Dudhi kofta - tasted fabulous, especially the cholafali had my heart .
Three carbs - Bajra no rotlo , Bhakri , Methi thepla . Bhakri was authentic and not the biscuit type served elsewhere
This was served with a tub of unsalted butter
Two kadhis - Rajasthani and Gujarati
Two sweets - Moong no Halwo which was amazing and Malpua
Methi dhokla was perfectly soft and fluffy and well flavored
Fried Patra tasted great too . I don't like Patra but because it was fried it gave a nice crunch to it and made it great
Papad - normal and khichiya
Khichdi - can be improved was a little bland
Anjeer ice cream - was a tad bit boring after such a great meal. It was vanilla ice cream with anjeer pieces
Service
It's polite and respectful . They don't disturb you too much which is a blessing. You can eat Peacefully and request items as you require.
Overall it's a fabulous must visit place especially on a special occasion.
I didn't like three things
1. The entertainment available is great but most of them expect some money to be given . It was a little uncomfortable. I don't mind giving but not everyone would want to .
2. The parrot used by the astrologer. It's down right animal cruelty and the restaurant should not associate itself with such people.
3. Malpua can be crispier and taste even better if served with rabdi

Home like authentic Gujarati food in a serene atmosphere. It is one of the best experience but obviously at high cost.
A huge range of food items specially traditional Gujarati food. Each and every product should be tried. Delicious food and the service is good as well.
Amazing food, warm service and did I mention amazing food!
Tip: The wait time for the thaali can go upto an hour so do plan in advance. Also, the thali is better than a-la-carte.
Much recommended place for all the NRIs and people visiting Ahmedabad to get the glimpse and taste of traditional Indian cuisine. Along with Indian cuisine, they also promote Indian handicraft products, pottery, puppets, folk dance etc. which is a good step towards keeping the Indian crafts alive and to make it reachable to wider audience.
This is a go to place when you really want to experience your food along with a great dining experience. The ambience is such that you get the traditional village type feeling. Cots lying around, puppet shows and traditional dances going on & some light music, all add up to the experience.
The thali is nicely designed with quite a lot of accompaniments like ghee, Jaggery, Chaas, salad, papad and such. Must try over here is its Mix Bhaji Na Muthiya and Mohanthal. Preferred season to visit this place is winter.
Definitely recommended. The price per person is little on a higher side but surely worth the experience.
My friend insisted that we must visit this place. It is an amazing experience and and a must visit place. They have live performances (music & dance), astrologer and mehendi. The Ambience is the show stopper. The service is amazing and the staff knows how to treat their guests well. Food was delicious, my personal favorites were patrani sabzi, mohanthal, jalebi and chaas.

Absolutely fell in love with the place ♥️. Was in Gujarat for the weekend and wanted to sample some Gujarati thalis, hence ended up here. The per person charge is a bit high, but you pay for the experience and location which was totally worth it 👌 The food was great, not your typical sweet food you'd expect. But what was better was the ambience and the little performances and trinkets happening all over the sprawling place. Would definitely visit again if have the chance 👍

Definitely recommend for the foodie
Chill and watch the traditional Gujrati dance on the cots, with some lime juice. The ambience is truly amazing, as I've been going to this place from more than 10 years! The chaats and daal wasn't very good. Khichdi and kadi is a must try. The food to capitalize on is
Aamras- The sweet mango dish is the perfect dessert after dinner. Served cold, it's tasty to eat with roti as well.
Halwa- Another very good dessert, which is very heavy with lots of ghee.
There's also ice cream served apart from this.
Do try out the potato curry with the butter roties.
After the food, do take a stroll and make a earthen jug with the Potter. Watch the puppet show, and breathe in a bit of traditional Gujrat!

This is my second visit to this place but in terms of experiencing it has to be my first visit since i had opted for a la carte during my first visit which was totally a different experience.
One has to opt for thali option to get the real village vibes. We visited this place on a winter evening so there was a bonfire around. One can observe the folk dance while savouring a hot soup and also try their fresh juice while enjoying this music. There is also a mehendi counter, a puppet show, pottery making and a talented magician showing incredible skills. So this is a perfect set up where there are so many activities to do and see apart from food.
Coming to the food it is a grand gujarati thali with lots of accompaniments. Each and every dish that we tried was excellent and the taste totally justified the gujarati cuisine. Full marks to the service and the staff was very humble and cooperative giving a homely feeling.
So if you are in Ahmedabad you must visit this place with your family if you haven’t yet and opt for thali only.
RAJWADU
#Rajwadu is another traditional Gujarati restaurant with a ethnic village kind of decore in a huge open place with staff in traditional attire and traditional music it can be a great experience in itself. Food was amazing too. We tried traditional Gujarati food and relished the veg muthia, Desi handua and spicy aloo sabzi with bajra roti. Food was very distinct with local flavours and tastes. Portion sizes were too big and value for money really.
Would love to be here again and try some more dishes.

Delightful place with a great decor. A really nice menu and fantastic food with great options for vegetarians. The Dal Bati was definitely the highlight. The service was impeccable. Possibly the best open air Traditional restaurant in city. The food here is always a bliss.

We had an outing from our office and visited there to have a dinner. It began with beautiful a folk dance from a graceful lady. After that we had a dinner which had mostly Gujarati and kathiyavadi dishes and it was delicious. It also has the sitting facility in the garden where we spent almost an hour after the dinner.
Rajwadu!! You can say that only name is enough 😛. Food quality the best. Ambience is so nice,you feel a like that you are in cultural place. The way they maintaining their services nd indian or village culture is really nice i loved it

Visited here for a get together. It was little tricky to locate the place as its in city lanes. Atmosphere inside gives u a feeling of being away from city hustle into some village. There are live performances of music, dance, puppetry etc.. Lots of greenery around.
Food was typical Rajasthani and Gujarati thali. Lots of variety of course. The accompaniments were much better.. Esp Jalebi😋. Rajasthani kadhi was a gem.. A good place for family with kids as lots of entertainment for them as well. Try to go little early in evening so u can see things and click few good pics.

when we talk about traditional food, this is the only best place to get all Gujarati food which made like home made and taste like never before had this type of delicious food. Last time my friend came here and he suggested to go and try once, i would thanks to friend sandeep who actually referred good place to have local tasty food. One of the best dining experiences in Ahmedabad!!! Truly relaxing ambience and some of the best vegetarian food in town. The malpua that we had was really good. Boiled down to 500 pp.
Looking for a village theme restaurant on a family dinner and no budget constraints. Then don’t forget to try this place once. On the same lines as Vishalla. This place serves food which is apparently cooked from the produce from their farm ( as informed to us by the server).
You can feel the difference in the air you breathe. Once you enter it is an extremely different experience. With some sort of entertainment happening in every nook and corner. Like a puppet show, some folk music along with folk dance. Also the ambience is a treat for sore eyes.
Food is made to suit people with a palate that can’t tolerate spices. So you have minimum spices and extremely good food served with commendable hospitality. Do try the place once you won’t regret it.

yesterday i visited this place for dinner !!! This restaurant is ultimate place for any type of group or individual . It is a Gujarati & Rajsthani Thali place with extremely quick and accurate service on the table . The manager was a great person !! But for food it is not worth to give 700/- !! I would suggest other gujarati thali place like iscon thal, Annakut and gordhan thal !! In dinner for yesterday night they don't have any liquid sweet and they have only 1 farsan , rest is same as other places !!! so I don't think it is worth to give 700 !!

Visiting this place almost after a decade.
Greeted with very warm welcome and we entered the heritage premise.
Started with Kiwi Mocktail which was decent in taste followed by some stellar performances by artists with “Makai-Doda”.
Than the picture says it all.
I found above average taste overhere but yes over the period of time they haven’t change neither in taste nor in hospitality.
One time visit recommended though it is a very old heritage place but still has some charm left in it.

I had visited month ago with my friends. This is the village thim restaurant. They have nice jholas & a fish pond with small bridge running over it. The ambiance will take away all you stress and hustle bustle of city.Besides this place also has a puppet show, fortune teller, music & dance performances.There are a lot of celebrities who have visited this place from politicians to sportsmen to film stars etc.
In the food there were lots of varieties. You can have ala carte menu all through the day and relax on thr traditional cot. Moong dal halwa and aam ras were very delicious. Bhindi capsicum mutter and many unique combinations were there.So the entire experience was amazingly unreal.

Rajwadu is located centrally in the city, but the ambience it creates is amazing. Just as you enter the hotel, you are transported from the city to a cozy Rajasthani village. You are welcomed with a rose and a little temple. Following it up is a puppet show and a porter to keep the little children interested. There is a shop where in you cam buy traditional material and clothes. Inside the hotel is the Rajasthani fold dance and songs and along side are served the welcome drinks.
The dinner contains various kinds of salad and chutney. They serve bhakhri, thepla, rotlo and fulka roti along with 4 sabji and kadhi. Malpua and moong dal halwa were simply awesome. Having dalwada in the rains added to the charm all the more. They ended with a kothi ice cream which was also superb. All in all, definitely worth a visit for ambience, experience and hospitality.
Food and place both are superb and simply outstanding. A must try place.

Rajwadu is a mini fort like structure which will greet you with idol of Ganesh, and by side, two of the assistants will greet you with a tika on your head.
You'll walk into a garden space leading to restaurant. The restaurant is also an open seating. Strategic design of air conditioning system makes you feel at ease, irrespective of the weather.
Coming to food, we ordered Khichu and Bataka Vada as starters. Khichu is accompanied by some extra oil and pickle spice in a bowl. The small lightweight, rice cake like thing looks very tempting and tastes equally amazing.
The bataka vada served here, had an extra ordinarily soft filling of potato inside and slight crisp in the outside. Served along, is green chutney which is moderately spicy.
Our main course included, sev tomato, gatte ki sabzi, vagharelo rotlo.
All of them belong to kathiawadi cuisine. Sev tomato was spicy as we had asked for. Gatte ki sabzi and vagharelo rotlo tasted like authentic kathiawadi food. Along with this we ordered butter tawa roti which was hot, fresh and soft.
The beverages we ordered were Aadu-Nimbu(lemon-ginger concoction) and Baaflo. Baaflo is a summer special and is a must try, it's a drink made of raw mango (keri).
The staff is very polite and knowledgeable of everything they serve. Service is on-time.
Everything combined, makes up for an experience for the entire family/friends.

Visited the place in large group. Their hospitality is good. Ambience of village set up which gives peace of mind. My daughter enjoyed a lot on folk music and dance so did I. Coming to food it was served cold but sweet dish (moong dal halwa) , icecream and aam ras were super delicious. Even in extreme hot weather they somehow cooled the environment which is quite applauding. Overall good experience.

Great ambience, lots of parking space , good food (Gujarati cuisine with a special touch). Best place to chill out with a group as there s dance, magic , puppet shows in the premises. Ala carte as well as unlimited thali option available. Usually booked for parties on week ends so enquire before itself. I am not a big fan of Gujarati thali owing to the sweet nature of the dishes, but this one did ring my bells. the sabjis were unique (never heard of bhindi capsicum mutter and many unique combinations )and taste wise I gave it a five. Smiling service at the food counter though the welcoming party looked a little dull. I would rate this a notch higher than the similar themed restaurants in Ahmadabad, no wonder it's always steaming in with people.

Yeahhh this wass one and last & first for 2017 for which m giving 5star. As i visited Ahmedabad for my bike ride to kutch and desided dine at rajvadu & it was worth it. Food quality wass awsome and a must try special thali it was epic nd dammm i was full topped up. Thums up for rajvadu 😁👍🏻
Spooky entrance leading us to the courtyard, greeting us with entree to start our meal. With main course served with different curries and bread. The service was top notch with food being brought out every minute to make sure we were fed. Although the food was a bit spicy for me it was still an amazing experience to have. The dance bands were probably the highlight of the night, giving us a burst of energy and laughter to our faces.

It has village like ambiance and you will be served food traditionally while you are sitting on floor (additionally it has table chair facility as well).

From food to service and ambience and entertainment everything is at its best....there was a huge village-like setup...there was beautiful architecture along the way till dining ....there were many picturizing spots all along the way. There were Rajasthani folk singers assembled to entertain us while waiting for food also there was an astrologer, drums and some play area for kids. The food they served was in an ample quantity from the salad to finishing ice cream, everything tasted good. The seating here is different and cozy to sit. The best time to visit this place is evening. They open at 7.00pm and the cost was 1100rs per person. But when you spare time to spend the whole evening there then it's all worth the money.
It was the best place to ever visit. I visited on my birthday and I'm not regretting it. It was so nice. They have folk dancers, pottery and other stuff that represents authentic living of Raj- Guj lives.
Do not miss this place when you’re in Ahmedabad. Great food and amazing ambience.

The ambienCe is too good,well designed and properly organized ..It's a good place to spent time with family, you will be able to see puppet dance,hear to folk music and enjoy a huge thaali which was almost impossible to finish by a average person but taste wise food is absolutely nice

I had the pleasure of experiencing a traditional Indian village dining experience and it was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, the entire experience was filled with warmth, hospitality, and the most delicious food.
The village was nestled in the heart of the ahmedabad, surrounded by lush greenery and serene beauty. As we walked through the village, we were greeted by friendly hosts who welcomed us with a drink. We were taken to a dining area, beautifully decorated with dim lights. The meal was served on banana leaves, a traditional and eco-friendly way of serving food in India. The food was a true feast for the senses - each dish was bursting with flavor and aroma, made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We even got to participate in a traditional dance and music performance, which was a highlight of the evening.
The entire experience was a wonderful glimpse into the rich culture and hospitality of India. I left feeling full, happy, and grateful for the opportunity to have such a unique and memorable dining experience.

SurI recently visited Rajwadu Kathiyawadi and Rajasthani restaurant and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The ambience of the restaurant is vibrant and colorful with traditional Rajasthani decor that gives a royal feel. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful.
Coming to the food, it was simply outstanding! The authentic Rajasthani and Kathiyawadi dishes were cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The thali was a great way to sample different dishes and flavors. The variety of chutneys and pickles were also mouth-watering.
Overall, I would highly recommend Rajwadu Kathiyawadi and Rajasthani restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Rajasthani and Kathiyawadi cuisine. The experience is truly worth it!
Excellent food and everlasting experience.
Visited the restaurant with family during Navaratri and it was quite an experience .
Considering the amount per head the experience is worth it. Only negative is that we had to wait for quite some time and kids got impatient. Probably they have large crowd during Navaratri hence the wait .
We were greeted with some cool drinks , saw a traditional folk dance, participated in an aarti and then proceeded to dining area.
Food was vegetarian and really tasty although loaded with ghee. Servers would come to refill even before you finish so no wait once you sit down to dine.
Recommended if you are visiting Ahmedabad.
they have rajasthani traditional and historical welcoming and also various cusine in Gujarati dishes and the infrastructure of restaurant is quite historic with nature.
Great vibe and super fun. It was a super long wait for the all inclusive and so we decided to go for the a la Carte option and it was super delicious. There were fusion items that my abcd daughter loved - like - khandvi baked dish.
