This is heaven in Ahmedabad. A calm soothing place where one can spend hours, sitting on the village style charpaai, sipping hot pudina tea from kullad (earthen cup) enjoying the breeze.
They also have full thalis and have puppet, traditional dance shows while having dinner but I am yet to have that.
A must visit restaurant if you’re in Ahmedabad. This place gives you the whole experience of authentic rural food. The food is finger licking good!! The vibe of the place is a plus, it makes you feel like you’re in a real rural setting. That being said, the place is neat and hygienic overall. Great service and professional staff.
I visited this place many times almost once a two month and want to share my amazing experience with you all
.
.
Talking about the ambience they have the best ambience, but the best time to visit this place is at night for dinner. This is the perfect place for lunch and dinner with your family and friends with some authentic Gujarati food
.
.
The entry is just amazing and then there is a puppet show, traditional Rajasthani folk dance along with the mocktails. They have the julas and there is a museum as well which has all the traditional things stored
.
.
Then for dinning it has lower seating with leaf dish and bowl and they serve delicious authentic food and the menu is changed every day
.
.
The dinner or lunch is then ended with sweet tooth where they have ice cream and many more things
Vishalla is know for its village theme restaurant. Actually, you would feel like a restaurant, it’s a small village by itself 😅 With amazingly delicious Gujarati thaali, the puppet show and traditional Rajasthani dance has its own charm ! 👍🏻 If any of your friends or relatives are coming from outside Gujarat, do take them to this place 😍 Everyone deserves to have this beautiful experience!

There is no need for mentioning the menu as picture says it all.
Special mention for atmosphere, service and the vibes 😍🔥.
Jalebi and Dalwada steals the show.
This is the place whose food is not that heavy on stomach as other places which serves such kind of food gives you uncomfortable feeling in the stomach after grabbing such spread 😀.
#ChildhoodMemoriesReloaded
Vishalla has been an iconic place for village theme. One should visit this place while a visit to Ahmedabad.
An attractive entrance, ambience with dim lights and kerosene lamp, pathway of sand and swings with Indian sitting. It was a wonderful experience. There were puppet show and folk dance too.
Food was really good. Each item was at its best taste even if it is the simplest.
Too expensive for the food, can visit once for the ambience and theme
Must visit place. Village theme place with delicious foods.

One of the finest restaurants that we visited in Ahmedabad. It is is a village themed restaurant where there is no AC. You have to literally eat like the villagers, squatting down and eating with your bare hands.
They have puppet shows, Rajasthani folk dance shows and folk music being played throughout the property. The utensil museum is adjacent to the vishala restaurant and is accompanied by a shelter for cows, ducks and other pet animals. Many celebrities including the likes of PM Narendra Modi, Baba Ramdev and many more have visited this restaurant. You can have unlimited food here since they give Thalis. You have to have your food on a plate made out of leaves. Foods will come one by one and you can choose what you want to eat. Since this is an authentic Gujarati restaurant, everything you will find here is sweet including the daal, aloo, undio or even Kadhi.
Food wise, if you like Gujarati food then this has to be on your must visit place in Ahmedabad or else you can just be here just to experience the true village theme that the vishala has to offer.
Vishalla is a village themed, Lantern Lit, Rural Fantasy in Ahmedabad which will take you through a Gujarati food paradise.
I had the poori shaak plate which had:
1. Tomato, potato, and green peas Sabzi
2. Five pooris
3. Green mirchi fry
4. Salad
5. Papad
6. Pickle (my favorite of the lot)
7. Chaas (buttermilk)
The ambience is lovely! You sit on cots and dine the traditional way.
There's a Gujarati thali in the menu too.
Worth the bucks you spend.
A total delight.
Vishala is one of the old favourites and popular restaurants when it comes to Gujarati food here in Ahmedabad. Food served in traditional leaves plates, sitting on the floor and food cooked in traditional sigri makes the dining experience here worth every penny. Whenever in doubt, you can always rely on this place for a good experience. The theme represents a village setup. Priced for approx 600, the place offers a traditional Gujarati thali with ample dishes on the menu. One can also opt for and Ala carte menu (In a dedicated seating area). The food which is Cooked by traditional means surely adds up to the taste. The guests are also treated with traditional music, dance and various other entertainment activities. Overall the place is surely worth an experience.
One of the best restaurants in the town serving traditional Gujarati food. When you step into Vishalla, the thing that promptly grabs the immersion of your eyes is the rural ambience. The restaurant has a vibe of it’s own and has an authentic feel to it. The food is served here on natural thaal leaves and the sitting is on wooden katha and mattresses. When you venture into Vishalla, a warm gesture with nimbu soda would surely refresh you. Apart from food, you can also enjoy traditional Rajasthani folk performances, puppet dance and much more. You surely can’t miss Jalebi, sukhadi and chai.
It's a village themed restaurant. Ambience is quite good according to the theme. Mainly Gujarati Thali is served. I really liked the food. Service is also good.
Do try sukhadi and Chai. ( Not together ofcourse 😅)
Also I did like Jalebi and Laddo.
The place is very spacious.
Cost effective food with Indian traditional serving and atmosphere. Great experience and refreshing. Food is hygenic and delicious. Its venue also contains one small museum with old utensils and other vintage things. There is small magic show and a grand garden for children
Pure and authentic Gujarati food’s search has only one destination is Vishala. Amazing village theme ambiance. Snacks were hygienic and delicious. Must try Jalebi and Sukhadi. They always make everything fresh with extra love. The only thing I would like to suggest that please keep at least one person as an attender. Everything was up to mark. Costly but worth it. Tea is heaven for Chai lovers.
Dinner and lunch are also delicious. Check out some pics to get an idea.
Best ambiance of village theme restaurant enjoy your food in pie and authentic village style. It serves best Gujarati cuisine with best service. There are a lot of activities to enjoy at Vishal’s so take minimum 2 to 3 hours time to enjoy the facility of Vishala.
It is pure authentic place.
They use tree leaf to serve food on.
It is amazing ambience as well as great interior.
As it is a restaurant but this much authentic place with amazing food
We went to Vishalla after a bit of research as to where exactly we get authentic Gujarati food. What struck me was that it had typical rustic charm much like that of Chokidhani near Jaipur.
We were amazed and awed by the experience as we were ushered in. One objection I have is that they do not provide choice to the customers as the only option available for sitting inside was thali and not other items given on the menu.
So we did opt for thalis. Inside, many local art and culture were on display including the Rajasthani folk dance - Kalbelia. They’ve done well to maintain the rustic settings. Once we sat down, it was overwhelming range of dishes which included the typical Gujarati Thepla, Bhakri, Rotla as well as Dhokla along with a range of Subzis. It was a sumptuous meal overall which was supplemented by generous and never-ending helpings. So much so that extra hours of workout will now be needed to undo the damage!
It is a recommend if you are in Ahmedabad.
We are here to celebrate my nephew's birthday.
Been here with full family all of us enjoyed well here
Food is good as well and we young people found it good and authentic
However my parents said "its nothing special and charging too much"
But you can have this experience once in your life.
The place stands out for its sprawling ambiance that begins with a walk down a dimly lit pathway to the entrance. The anticipation created through this is further enhanced by the rustic appearance complete with cattle shed, tiny shops, paan ka galla, Rajasthani folk dancers, khatla, swings, sheds, sitting on floor, washing hands with coal etc. The thaali is huge with many salads arriving in a mighty thaali as starters followed by traditional Gujarati cuisine. Now i have admittedly had better thaali at other places , however Vishalas naturalistic ambiance and the tasty offerings make for a memorable must-go experience particularly for tourists.
Best place to experience Satvik food with village like ambience....This place makes you wonder that how can food without onion garlic and ginger be so tasty.... True flavours from grandmother’s kitchen... The way food is made and served takes you back few decades ago... sometimes eating under sodium light with chill breeze from trees can give tough competition to a high-end candle lit dinner....
Vishalla is not only a place to eat but a place to experience. I couldn't spend much time as I was in a hurry but the place itself is Wonderland both for nature and Food lover. The cost may be on the higher side but the food and the place makes it worth it.
Vishalla is a indian rural themed restaurant. They have amazing traditional Gujarati-Rajasthani food, which they serve with a lot of love. If you are in Ahmedabad you have to absolutely try it.
Beautiful rural ambience and amazing Gujarati food. A must visit place in Ahmedabad. Their antique vessel museum is also really good. Highly recommended.
The place is not just about food but an overall experience. Totally worth the money to spend an evening there with friends and family, watch the entertainment and have some amazing food.
Amazing concept.
Based on village theme it serves real Gujarati authentic food. It's having museum must visit it once. And yeah how can I forget puppet show which I saw after long time. The food they served like farsan, sweet, salad, khichadi, kadhi were awesome.Keep it up.
Loved the place and the ambience . Very unique concept. Authentic Gujarati food. 5/5 for the food.
They have a museum as well which is very nice. A must visit if u in Ahmedabad.
I already visited restaurant many times and i like food very much,i m also planning for my next visit next week but just wanted to confirm whether zomato gold features are applicable on unlimited dinner or it is only applicable on ala carte????
Plz confirm.
I have seen this place since my childhood and it has been the best place in ahmedabad since then. Love the food snd hospitality. You dont get better place these days right in the heart of city.
Nice seating arrangement with lot of options to sit. Food quality excellent. Jalebis🥰 mouth watering. Unlimited thali with good service and lastly with ice cream and khajoor. Must visit once if you are in Gujarat.
Well i never dreamt of going to a restaurant that dates back to the 70s! Welcome to Vishalla, the place for traditional Gujarati cuisine from where you wont just return with your bellies all bulked up but with an experience full of memories.
I wont blabber much about the food because its a thali served on natural thaal leaves with ground sitting on wooden katha and mattresses (although you can ask for a general seating but that would spoil the mood of being at such a place). Unlimited servings of delicacies will keep pouring from the most courteous of the staffs and you will end up gorging more than your appetite.
However I was visually stunned by their campus (yes its more of an institution) with the welcome lanes dotted with wick lanterns providing it the most classic village charm. You will be floored by the photos of the guests that the restaurant could boast of right from sardar patel to nehru to our cricketers and what not. A warm greeting with nimbu soda would take you back to your childhood memories. You can enjoy the traditional rajasthani folk dance performances (at night say around 8-9pm) and a stroll around the gaushala and the pottery museum. So there's so much to do than just eating.
Landmark. Though many restaurants have come.
The ambience and food of Vishalla is standout !!!
A must visit !!! Looking forward to visit again !!!
Suporp food and worth every penny suporp presentation and environment. It is always advisable to go there and eat because the service tax they take is worth
For us Vishala is a place that can never go wrong and is always so full of warmth that after one visit we are one of course literally so full tat getting up is a problem but that aspect iso the stomach not for the heart. There is a saying "Pet bhar gaya par Mann nai Bhara" is so appropriate for Vishala that every time there is something that we feel like having more but our stomach disagrees. You kind of have take another stomach on rent if possible . LOL.. Just Kidding
After a good look and feel of the ambience , folk dance, swings and puppets
A BIG spread now awaits you with more than 10 types of farsan(snacks), pickles, salads, etc. making a great combination of condiments. The starters comprise of the either muthiya, dhokla and such other varities, with main course being 4 types of shaak (vegetable mix or currys) , rotis, bhakhri, thepla, daal, rice, kadhi , khichdi, sweets at least 3 types and what do you want more.
Vishala is a place where traditional etiquette are at its peak, they serve you with so. much warmth and mind you whenever you visit Vishala make sure that you make sure of eating everything because it is possible that you may just forget one farsan.
so happy eating at Vishala
If you want to enjoy The authentic Indian food with local ambience like a village with Rajasthani dances and Kathputli shows. Seat on floor like old times and enjoy the endless mouthwatering delicious delicacies then #Vishalla is the place! Go by 7:30 pm and you will enjoy it at fullest.

This is one of the authentic place to eat Gujarati food. Starting from its ambiance to the dinning area, gives the feel of eating out in a small village of Gujarat.
The hygiene level is fully maintained along with the amazing taste of food.
A place recommended especially for the ones who are new in Gujarat to try authentic Kathyawadi food.
Awesome, Unique and Mindblowing. The entire place is built around a traditional gujrati theme and they have nailed it down to the T. The ambience, antique pots and humongous pans strewn around the place, the servers traditional uniforms and then the best part...Food!!. Never have i enjoyed vegetarian cusine as much as I did here....and the undiyo was to die for!. A big shout out to Kamlesh bhai for showing us around the place. Must visit is the Vechaar musuem with its fantastic collection of utensils, supari cutters and some huge locks....coming up I hear is a chair museum too. All in all a great place to spend half a day and then come again and again for the food too....5 stars and then some more 👍👍👍

This place is a must visit. The ambience is serene. The food comes in so many varieties that you can't eat it all. If you are looking for Gujarati food, this is your place.
Ethnic environment and great food , Service is also good All the snacks and especially Tea is awesome
Great place for Pure Gujarati Snacks and Buffet
Very simple yet very tasty food served in traditional manner, coved with cane baskets. Served with lots of Love and warmth. MUST GO FOR A COMPLETELY NEW EXPERIENCE. Full marks to food, hygiene, ambience and hospitality.
Delecious gujarati food. But they serve very less items compare to the other gujarati restaurant. Items serverd by the restaurant is low compare to the price they are charging.
Being a punjabi, I never tasted authentic gujrati food but I only wanted to so I think i visited the best place. Here, one can know lot about the gujrati culture and good. Buffet served in leave plates, butter milk from pure milk, khichdi in pure ghee. All these things are very difficult to find. If someone wants to learn about gujrati culture and good food, must go place.
Excellent food with it's taste of authenticity.
Good place to hangout with friends, family or relatives. It has greenery all round the actual filling of village can be felt and the way of serving food also make us to come to in ancient times people ate in what or what was their steple diet. At last it's just exquisite
Food 4/5
So much variety in food.
Food is very nice but kadhi was very delicious which i like the most in whole items. Also before you are served with main course , you can sit and enjoy some performances of the few groups there. They are very amazing to watch.
Ambience 4.5/5
They need to improve lighting. Over all very nive place.
Service 5/5
They provide best service and they ask about food in very few minutes. The outfit of workers also like village man.
Actual rating - 3.5/5
Ambience - 4/5 INTERESTING
The place is great for one time go. Specially for someone who has come from outside the statebor wants to feel something different in terms of serving style.
The food - 3.5/5
what i loved to see was old fashioned way of serving. As u can see in the pics i have posted, we were served in giant leaves, with salads and masals provided in small leaf katoris. The outfit of the workers there was also like a village man.
Also before u r served with the main course, u can sit n enjoy the folk performances of the a few groups there. There was a man performing wierd but grt stuff with small plates. A girl dancing n balancing on sharp n difficult objects. These were great to watch along with starter desi drinks provided there.
The place is dark right from u enter the place. There is alomg walk from the point of entry till the counter and then to food area. This might b troublesome for someone old. Also there are a few ants but actually thats a grt thing becoz in that set up u only have a few ants. Commendable job 👏👏.
Another good part was that we can have a leisure time, no hury. We had a good time post dinner at 'khatlas' there with each other.
Ohh great place to enjoy whole evening with family, friends, official client meetings. Where you can enjoy traditional dance and gujarati food. Fresh unlimited food served with care by staff over there. Winter's the best time to visit.
Food is very simple healthy and its test is awesome. Price is high but you must try here once in your life.
Come here for dinner not for lunch.
Food is great and ambience is authentic.
They do not honour gold membership for dinner as it’s only for snacks.
The museum has camera charge which is quite much.
Would love to come for dinner again.
One of the best place in this world to eat Gujarati food. The ambience and the aroma is full of Gujarati flavours. If you love authentic food like me. You should try it once.
It's One of Best To experience the Gujarat Authentic Style Food, Ambience environment (architecture, cultural events, clothing, dance, art, music) and service in the center of Ahmadabad city.
The Quality of food is awesome with Rich and Healthy ingredients which gives a feel like a are having food in a A Typical Gujarati Village in 1960-1970.The Theme of Restaurant so Perfect and Impressive You Don't Believe that They don't Have Any Electrical fittings such as Bulbs, fan in This Place Totally lit up by Natural Lamps and Great Herbal Fragrances smell.
Simply Its a Perfect Place To Have A Gujarati Food in a Perfect Gujarati environment.
I visited this place in April 2018 with my gang of MICA. Words feel less while describing about it. Everything is awesome here, Food, Ambiance, Service and what not. A must try for Gujju food lovers.
It is by far the best place from 40 years for authentic gujarati delicacies. If you visit Ahmedabad and if you dont come here at vishala than the visit is not complete. Its not a restauent, its a festival of gujarati ambiance celebrated like never before. Must must must have their delicasies
“GUJARAT MA RAHINE GUJARATI THAALI NA KHAADI TOH SU KHAADU”
Devouring a Gujarati thaali after a tiring day is a great act of valour. Well, bringing forth authentic Kathiyawadi delicacies - VISHALLA has raised the bar of Gujarati thaali to an entirely new level.
Vishala serves us an array of preparation of farsaans, vegetables, pulses, dal, kadhi, thepla, rotla, khichdi, sweets and chaash to wash it all down with. The thaali keeps rotating everyday for the variation in taste, however the quality remains the same.
You can pair up any of the sabjis with piping hot theplas, rotis or rotlas. While the kadhi or dal totally blends with steamed rice or khichdi. Their sides of salad, papad and thiki- meethi chutney just help along the entire course leading to an ultimate buuuuurrrrrrppppppp!!!

Vishalla has revived our culture not only in terms of food but also in terms of the interiors and ambience which gives a homely feeling!
Lovely ambience, music, dance, museum tour and dinner.
Best place to go with family and friends.
Complete village feel...
And the best part is the super delicious Gujarati food served in a leaf plate.
Along with all this arrangements they have some live dance and music🎼🎹🎤 going on.
Visited on our half yearly anniversary. Welcome style to leave the place they treated us like atithi devo bhava: usually i dnt prefer sweet but that day i just love mohanthal. Piyush Dabhi
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vishalla, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant's enchanting village theme created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making the dining experience unique and memorable.
The extensive variety of authentic Gujarati food offered was a true culinary journey. From traditional favorites to flavorful regional specialties, each dish showcased the rich and diverse flavors of Gujarat. The attention to detail in presentation and taste truly reflected the restaurant's commitment to providing an authentic and enjoyable dining experience.
The staff's hospitality added to the overall positive impression, making me feel welcome and well taken care of throughout my visit. If you're a fan of Gujarati cuisine or simply looking for a charming dining experience, I highly recommend Vishalla. It's a culinary gem that captures the essence of Gujarat's vibrant food culture.
Very cool place to visit to understand the culture of the people, so much history in it, loved the atmosphere, gives you the authentic village feeling, had some good dance, good food though it wasn’t so appealing to the eyes ….otherwise overall a good experience and definitely recommend! I received a very beautiful souvenir and that was such a beautiful gesture!
Vishala: The atmosphere there resembles that of a small village. The entrance (can be seen in the photo) is dimly lit by lanterns as well as the whole restaurant. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They directed us towards a dance show that happens there every night and then towards our table. Even in dining there are options to sit at a table or sit down just like the traditional way. Coming to the food, it was good. But I felt like it was not extraordinary or as per the price. Feels like the price is more for the atmosphere and not the food. I went there with high expectations and the atmosphere handled half of that, but the second half (for the food) was not fulfilled completely.
One of good authentic gujarati food. Price is 1070 which high than regular,
They surve food very politely
Art gallery is also good for spending 10-15 mins. Giod canvas painting are there.
They also have maintained a good ambiance in village theme.
Good food, can visit one time to feel village environment
IT IS ONE OF THE MOST TRADITIONAL RESTAURANT IN AHMEDABAD.EACH INGREDIENT AT VISHALLA IS SOURCED DIRECTLY FROM THE FARMERS.
Traditionally designed restaurant with village theme established in 1978. Many celebrities have also visited the place and it is renowned for its authentic taste, service and the village theme ambience.
One of the best and amongst my most desired and preferred restaurant for dinner during winter and summer. Traditional Gujarati Kathiyavadi food. Traditional folk dance, puppet show, museum showcasing age old kitchen utensils, used by ancient inhabitants.
Traditional village like setup, lamps and lanterns placed all over. Swings and tree hut gives one of the perfect family getaway for Dinner in a perfect traditional low rise floor sitting, while relishing delicious traditional Gujarati Kathiyawadi cuisine.
A great place to enjoy Indian food. Great atmosphere and service. There is puppet show and dance as well. A pretty unique and relaxing place in Ahmedabad.

An Enchanting Gujarati Experience at Vishala, Ahmedabad
I recently visited Vishala in Ahmedabad, and despite the evening setting, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The journey from the parking area to their reception was akin to a delightful stroll through a village, elevated by the luxury of a 5-star resort.
The hospitality at Vishala was remarkable, with the staff being exceptionally polite and humble. The ambiance exuded a vintage charm, seamlessly blending with the heart of the city. What stood out most was the traditional Gujarati meal served on leaves, an unparalleled culinary delight I had never experienced before. The swiftness in serving ensured that the meals remained piping hot and incredibly delicious.
The oral experience was essential, offering a glimpse into an authentic village meal that I hope every city can replicate, especially for the younger generation unfamiliar with such immersive encounters. I wholeheartedly recommend Vishala to anyone visiting Ahmedabad, whether during the day or night. Make sure to acknowledge the local artists who enrich the visit with puppet shows and assist in donning a pagdi.
Moreover, the VVIP images at the reception and the opportunity to purchase a reasonably priced charkha, a perfect keepsake, added to the enriching memories of this visit. Vishala truly captivated me with its blend of culture, cuisine, and nostalgia.
'Vishalla', a traditionally designed pure vegetarian restaurant. ingredient at Vishalla is sourced directly from the farmers. The food is served in a leaf plate, making the plates biodegradable, disposable, hygienic and convenient to use. They also lend a rustic and authentic touch to the food. very important aspect of Vishalla’s food heritage is that it adheres to some very ancient techniques of cooking, serving and eating food.
philosophy followed at Vishalla is very simple – everything is made each day, with the help of seasonal vegetables and utmost attention to cleanliness.
IT is located at VISHALA Circle, Ahmedabad. 5 minutes ride from Vasna Bus Stand.
Best place in Ahmedabad, Specially if you have friends or family outside Ahmedabad or Gujarat or India, You can definitely flaunt with the unique concept of Vishalla with. I just love this place more than anything else. Staff is extremely courteous, and one beautiful experience I would like to share is we have a small breastfeeding Infant. They allocate a special dedicated space for the baby to feed. A must go place.
