The place serves authentic south Indian food. With authentic I mean food items other than dosa and idli. I had been to Dravida for thier Onam Sadhya festival. All the curries served had coconut as the common ingredient but each of them had a totally different taste. One of them was made in coconut milk as well. The best part of the meal was they actually served each and every delicacy that should be served in an onam sadhya thali. Chutneys are the best one to add on. The dessert is made with jaggery and no sugar is used.
Well this place is must visit with or without festival.
The chef himself comes to take the order. They explain each and every dish that is being served. I must say this place has a very courteous staff.
They are taking good precautions in covid. Sanitization is there. Each and every staff member has mask and gloves on. They have a special envelop to keep our mask while eating.
This amazing place and tried their delicious mouthwatering South Indian dishes.

The non-veg thali we had was simply awesome. Specifically the Malabari paratha , ragi dhosa, mutton and chicken dishes . The hygiene maintained was perfrctly in sync with the COVID scenario.
This is by far the best south indian restaurant in Ahmedabad . And a must try for non veg lovers.

It was our first experience trying out
South Indian dishes other than Idli Dosa and it turned out to be amazing.
All the dishes have their own unique flavours and really suited our taste buds.
They serve South Indian desserts as well (2nd frame) which are made of wheat and rice. Totally delicious.
Also they have various types of pickles like tomato, nimbu, mirchi and aam pickle which makes your dishes even tastier.
The staff is so courteous and describes each and every dish so perfectly.
The non veg thali was great!
We visited Dravida to celebrate our anniversary, the ambience, staff and food was awesome and exceptional. Mr. Vivek suggested the South Indian delicacies which were mouth watering. Must visit place if you are ardent fan of non veg.

Nice place for fine dining in Ahmedabad with some authentic south Indian preparations, especially non veg food was good. Very good hospitality. Liked filter coffee and non veg pickles.
Dropped in this restaurant for authentic south Indian cuisine and I was not dissapointed. Recommended to try out different dishes from various southern states for a good culinary experience. Especially good for authentic non vegetarian preparations.

Our recent visit was for The Onam Festival thali at Dravida which by the way knocked us off with a shock. We honestly didn’t expect it to be this good !! South-Indian food generally we assume is Dosa, Idli, Vada Upma and like which is just the basic stuff but my goodness the curries served here at the Onam festival thali just blew away our mind. Although these curries had coconut as a common ingredient but each and every curry tasted so different. Dravida with or without the festival is really a must visit to see how much the sourthern India has to offer in terms of variety! The thali in fact even had dal, rasam and sambhar apart from the curries. The best part of the meal though was the red rice which was extremely authentic and sourced from Kerala.
The shape of the Appam was amazing and texture uff so soft. The quality of the food at Dravida is impeccable. Just cannot wait to try the entire menu and specially the non-vegetarian dishes.

DRAVIDA made my day , its was a amazing dinner. Real authentic south indian cuisine. With combination of five southern states. We got ordered the markandam soup which made with mutton and appetite of pepper and spices. Gundur Kodi, mutton pepper fry , pachai melagai paal katti perattal all are delicious.
Main course and the dessert are brings to the next level of southern food. I had a great chance to get the right food in right place.

A late review but still I remember every detail. That was the beauty of experience of Dravida.
First of all one of a kind restaurant and to those who think that south indian food means dosa, idli, utthapam then they should surely visit this place. This place will break all the stereotypes we have in our mind.
Very nice location and located on first floor give it a very posh and upscale feel. And so do the cutleries and the way they are kept. It's truly a fine dine restaurant.
I personally don't like food in which I get flavour of coconut and I have told the same to the manager, and he selected the dish for me with a very different which I never ever had.
They initially served me a welcome drink which is different form of a chach which is just finger licking good.
Had a chance to experience Malabari paraatha and appam, altogether a culinary gem.
Don't miss the filter coffee. One of the best filter coffee. Very rarely we find so good detoction coffee. Coffee here can give a very stiff competition to Starbucks.
The chef personally came to ask how is the food and so does the manager Amandeep who repeatedly came to check. The service was superb with manager making sure the experience is just out of the world.
Overall it's a place which surely worth visit and worth every penny you spend here.

Thier were many authentic South Indian dishes available. They maintained every level of quality including food, service, dressing of South Indian culture, also even welcome style, they maintained everything.

This was my second visit to Dravida and I happened to visit during the South Indian Wedding Fest. Steaming hot recipes served on a banana leaf will surely take you to the southern India.
One thing that I love about Dravida is, they give you a break from the usual south indian food that we tend to have here (read idlis, Dosas, uttapam) and bring the real taste of South India to our table.
I was under an impression that most of the recipes will be subtle and maybe bland, but to my surprise, all of them were really flavourful. Some of the recipes were really spicy while other were subtle to balance the flavors. Loved the rasam, binjri, and the dessert made out of Jaggery and banana

Happened to visit during their South India6 Wedding Food Feet. Served in traditional manner on banana leaf, the chef was very clear what he was serving and was able to explain each and every delicacy. The taste of the food was very basic and rooted. There was no extravagant flavors no fuzzy recipes, every thing was simple and subtle. It may take 2-3 bites of some unknown food item to develop the taste but it was one satisfactory meal. I literally had 3 servings of brinji (biryani) and plain rice each plus one appam to get through all varieties of sambhars, rasam and veggies properly and I still wanted more and more but my stomach gave up. And a big shout out to the desert made with banana, jaggery and nuts. This proves why @dravida is the best South Indian Restaurant in Ahmedabad.

Went to a South Indian Wedding feast festival here where in all the items that are served in the marriages in South are served. I am not a big fan of South Indian food, but I admit this was the best platter I have had till now. I always thought South Indian food is Idli's and Dosa's but this place broke my misconception. In this thaali there were so many yummm varieties and not that idli-dosa and all the dishes were just so perfect for my taste buds. The Rasam, Sambar, payasam and vatthakulambu were so so outstanding. I definitely loved four of these the most.
The Rasam was so good and tangy like never before, the sambar was exceptionally great at consistency, while vatthakulambu was a very spicy and tangy gravy that I absolutely loved. With all these the paysam went so well relieving the spiciness with it's sweetness.
There are around more than 15 items in this meal.
Another remarkable thing is thier service, they have great hospitality values. All the staff including the chef are very co-operative and the manager is very attentive and nice that he explained everything nicely.
Overall a great experience. The festival is from 8th Aug to 18th Aug.
It is difficult to decide on what to order at this place. However, whatever you order is of superior quality and taste. It is really one place where you can go with your family and enjoy. Might be one of the slightly expensive restaurants (plus the 18% GST) but the quality outing that it offers for the family is worth it!

My friend Anshul Kumar Sharma and I were planning for this place since 1 year. Finally today, we decided to visit Dravida .
We were not sure what to order in a la carta and so we went for thali.
Every item in thali has unique and authentic taste. Even Coriander and Coconut chutney were mouth watering.
Definitely, This is the best South Indian food in Ahmedabad.
Next visit will be for a la carta.

I have been here twice for their thali that they serve in lunch. But after having it twice and being amazed by their service and food each time I would love to visit Dravida again and again. All the curries and stews were fingerlicking good with beautiful combination of spices. The sambar is delicious and authentic but their rasam is to die for!! The malabari paratha had beautiful layers and the appam was served freshly made and steaming hot! Ended the meal with the super duper yummy semiya payasam. The staff was courteous and very friendly. Excellent food and service by Dravida. Keep it up.
Was there for my birthday and this is my 4 th time. It’s the only place I know which serves iddi appam and Nandu rasam in the radius of 500km. Ambience is great and the staff are very courteous.

We went in a group of 15 friends. All of us really loved it. The food was so aromatic. Loved every bit of it. The thali had food items of all four southern states. Trust me, the Chef is really amazing. Yet again, this is one of such experiences you cherish.

One of the best authentic South Indian restaurants I have ever visited. The interiors and the ambience is breathtaking. The menu here is different than other typical menus you find in other South Indian restaurants. And the unusual part of the menu is you won’t find Dosa or Uttapam in it. The food here is really delicious and you can actually feel the taste the authentic spices. Variety of options. Must try the various pickles they offer; especially the garlic pickle if you don’t mind the smell in the aftermath. Overall the experience was awesome.

This is by far one of the best South Indian restaurants in Ahmedabad, offering a range of delicacies from all the four southern cuisines. Excellent service, authentic taste, 5 star ambience and they even have good music!
My only disappointment is that there are often things on the menu that aren't available.
Regardless, this one is a must go to — just don't expect your standard masala dosa!

Hands down the best place in Ahmedabad that serves delicious and authentic South Indian food. I went here a few days ago for Corporate dinner and absolutely fell in love with the aura of this place.
The lovely ambience and subtle music in the background is so perfect. The way tables are done adds to the feel of the authenticity and class of the place. The staff are well behaved and polite. They guide you through the menu and suggest based on your liking and taste buds.
They welcomed us with a complimentary starter that had three chutneys and fried chips.
Ordered Rasam first which was certainly yummy. Served hot and had a nice spicy sour taste to it.
What we ordered for starters-
KUZHI PANIYARAM- one of my favourite south indian dishes, it's a rice dumpling that has onion, green chilies, curry leaves and tempered with mustard seeds. Loved to eat this with the white coconut chutney.
PODI IDLY- it was yet again tasty. Was tossed in ghee and mustard seeds and was served with onion, green chilies and topped well with home made gun powder.
MIRAPAKAYA PAKODI- This was a spciy pakora dish. Andhra chillies were deep fried in gramflour batter. The chillies are stuffed with roasted peanuts, sesame seeds and tamarind.
For maincourse, we had-
APPAM AND RASA KAYA- Wasn't too impressed with the taste of rasa kaya, maybe not something for my taste buds. It had vegetables cooked in onion tomato with coconut paste.
THAYIRSAADAM- traditional curd rice topped with mustard seeds, green chillies and curry leaves. This is not to be missed. Such a light way to end a heavy meal.
Finally ended the meal with FILTER COFFEE. Something not to be missed. So overall, it was a delightful experience. Oops, we also had a scoop of vanilla icecream. Would love to visit again for more delicacies.

Having lived in South India for a decade, the taste buds keep craving those flavors! Dravida pampers those and the soul with its fine service, attention to details and fresh great quality food! We ordered chicken chetinad (gravy), mutton pepper fry, tamarind rice and Malabar parota. Full points for getting the flavors right, and may i say, even better than the ones I've tasted down south! The meat was succulent and tender, the gravy rich, and the Malabar parota was rich,flaky,soft and crisp at the right spots. Tamarind rice had a generous sprinkling of crispy peanuts- comfort food at its best. A special mention for the details that went towards making it an authentic and wholesome experience- the fryum-papad served with the tiranga chutneys while we waited for the main course to arrive made me nostalgic and excited for what lay ahead. The second unique touch was the way an assortment of fresh pickles were brought to our table with the main course- garlic,mango, lime, tomato, chicken and fish pickle....these elevated the tamarind rice to gourmet proportions. Ordered a kesari mango lassi to wash it all down- this was a great idea, and much needed after all the heavy but delightful meal. The mango rasmalai ( a season special) would take half an hour to prepare, and we had to leave without getting a taste of it because of time constraints, wish we knew about the preparation time earlier. The service was excellent and a special mention to the manager who clearly saw our enthusiasm and informed us about the live kitchen concept during lunch on Wednesdays, where the chef gives out recipes as he cooks! Excited to return for this experience and leave with some skills on a full stomach. Wish we had tried this place earlier!
The food at Dravida is amazing, the non veg food is delicious and it’s made it easier to find good chicken around the town. Mr Sourav and Mr Vivek added by serving gracefully and made it a wonderful experience.

During lunch, they serve only Thali and during dinner they have an a la carte menu.
The Thali had a mix of dishes from all the four South Indian states. The food is unbelievably light. Special thanks to the restaurant manager Amandeep, Chef Rajiv and Sourav who served me and for being such gracious hosts. The Thali is priced at INR 700 + taxes per person and is definitely value for money.

Dec 2022 - Today we wanted to try a South Indian Thali so we selected Dravida. We did not know that they had a Kattumaram Coastal Food Festival going and the only option was a Veg or Non-Veg Festival thali. Since we wanted thali we decided to get one Veg and one Non-Veg Thali. You can see what was included in the pictures. While the food and flavors were good, I was a little disappointed with the overall service which is why I am giving a 4 star rating. The staff was not attentive as I would expect from such a restaurant. As part of the festival, I would ask that the staff educate guests on how the food should be enjoyed. As someone who was having a South Indian Thali for the first time, which I told our waiter, it would be good to suggest what goes well with what and what other options they have. The staff did tell us what was on our plate but not how to eat it. Also a little more education about the festival would be nice. The fish curry and the mushroom curry stood out in my opinion. Do order an Appam which they make fresh and bring to the table. There is a pickle cart which we found out later and did try. I would like to try food from their regular menu so may go back someday when the festival is over.

Massively inspired from Ancient tamil recipes , the food was great. But before that , let’s talk about hospitality. From the hotel door host to the reception up till the restaurant table attendant , everyone welcomed us with the utmost attention and warmth. (Pretty sure a smile was hiding behind those masks)
Beautifully done decor and lighting. Delicious 🤤 mix of different proteins , breads and rice on my plate. I was quite happy with it and BOOOOM. Dropped hot right onto my plate , hot as a bomb was THE APPAM. I swear on Christ , before I could turn around to thank the bomber I gobbled it all.
I thanked Chef Sundar only after asking for two more , which he happily delivered straight from the pan 5 metres behind me!
Very prompt attendance on the table by Chandru and Chandan ! The boys knew what they were doing and I couldn’t be any more happier about it.
Very beautifully spiced curries as I always have been inclined towards Black pepper ! Nothing on the thaali was obscenely oily or makes you feel bloated ! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REFILL YOUR fish curry. Hot appams dipped in Fish curry is Nirvana.
Coming to what could be improved ?
Training the team to pronounce the dishes correctly adds a big bonus.
Men’s washroom bin felt challenging like a basketball hoop unless you believe in Doing a slam Dunk.
I woke up this morning to realise that they forgot to bring the entree and soup for my sister 🤭
Major miss was We didn’t get any sherbet which was part of our THali, so no picture of that.

The food was very tasty and the service was fine as well but in cases of bigger groups they weren't able to symmetrically serve every one leading to impatient customers. And at some spots the air conditioning is too strong to handle. However other than that it had a great vibe. And i also loved how the main door was heavy
Close to authentic south indian food served in a great ambience. The service could improve. Th waitress constantly asked for feedback after every dish was served interrupting conversations many times. Otherwise, it was a great food and drink experience.
The food was authentic as expected. We are visiting Dravida since it was under the Fern hospitality. We were expecting the same standards more or less, and we were satisfied with the quality of food and service. I would recommend this place for someone who is looking for genuine South Indian delicacies.
