Me and my wife went there for some South Indian masala and we found this place and to be frank it was really awesome and tempting as well . We both love the food ,love the environment , love the ambience love the service as well 🙂 must visit one
good place for south Indian food
There’s a lot tangy when it comes to South Indian food, and then there’s Masala Idli ♥
Sankalp
On our visit to Ahmedabad we decided to try Sankalp on CG Road for some south indian delight.
Since we were dam hungry during our visit we decided to try out different types of dosas, uthappas and rasam vada.
Quality is up to the mark. Serve you 4 type of chutney along with traditional gun powder chutney.
Onion Uthappa was served with a slice of butter on the top. Was crispy and good flavors.
Must have here is Mysore Cheese sada, crispy Buttery Sada Dosa and Onion Uthappam.
Dosa Lovers will enjoy this place for sure.
It was a lovely experience being here. Loved all the food and ambience and the staff behaviour. Must visit place.
Good good awesome ambiance polite staff and wonderful location @ cg road outside seating while raining and eating Mashala dosa and masur Mashala dosa with buttermilk! Awesome experience
Be polite and friendly. Best place for south Indian food. In Ahmedabad sankalp's kara mura dosa, Coconut chatney and sambar is my favorite. C g Road Navrangpura branch is best.
I have been to Ahmedabad and was not really liking the gujrati food then we went for the search and reached this place , and I have to say I never expected that the food will be so good I should say this is the best south indian restaurant I have been too , we ordered masala dosa, uttapam, idli, vada and everything was beyond expectations... Even the service and ambience was so good. I recommend everyone who lives there to must visit or even who is planning to travel there must give it a try. #mustvisit #alltimecraver
The food served is tasty and nicely presented. One of the best places in Ahmedabad if someone is looking for some nice tasty south Indian cuisine. Only Dosa and Udipi are also good when it comes to south Indian food. Four star because the prices of the products are quite high, way higher than what they are supposed to be. I understand one taking the defense of factors influencing cost like the location, waiters then the electricity and other stuff but still even after all these things the prices are not justified, Nope! Coming to the chutneys and Sambhar they serve, they are just something on a whole different level. They serve some 3 kind of chutneys which is great and the best part you can have as much as sambhar and chutneys you want and trust me when I say it's on a whole different level. You feel each and every spice and ingredient of the sambhar and chutney when you have it. It's like a festival for your taste buds because they get to live up to their real potential. To sum up in short, Sankalp is a really great place to be, but, only if you are rich.
The only place for South Indian food. Tried many place but did not satisfy my taste buds. An amazing and authentic food. And Brownies are must for your sweet tooth. Amazing and friendly staff. Staff service is very prompt and satisfactory.
Had a great experience!! Amazing and tasty food and very fast service!
One must definitely try the vaghareli Idli!! Loved it the most. Great family dining place.
Sankalp never disappoints thier South Indian food lover customers.. for me main attraction to go there is their chutneys.. and taste of their sambhar. Thanks to them they have maintained their taste since I was a kid.
Old is Gold. One of my favorite places for South Indian.. And my all time favorite dish has to be Kerai Cheese Garlic Dosa... Just awesome.. Cheese Panner, Cheese Spring dosa and many more options are great but for me Kerai Cheese Garlic Dosa is must try.. And of course the PAN at the end is like cherry on the cake.. 💕
The indian bhaji masala dosa was the best of all the dosa’s. The best place one can have perfect South Indian cuisine. I had ordered it and it was as fresh as it is out of the ovenn.
We have been there so many times. Awesome place to visit for South Indian foods. Specially we loved Mysore chatpata dosa and Cheese Dosa and Dosa platter. And their chutneys were amazing. I think they served bestest dosa and chutneys in town.
You want to have south indian food and snakalp is the restaurant name for that. Very nice and delicious quality south indian food. it is amazing food. King of the south india food
Cheese Fried idli, Golden crisp masala dosa and Mic uttapam. Sankalp has always given great south Indian food. Given that they have a terrace restaurant too at this outlet, it just adds more to the dinner experience.
Awesome place. Classic sankalp. Love the yummy and delicious sambar, chutney provided. Huge fan of rava dosa and spring dosa. Great service and ambience as well
It was a decent place to have South Indian food. We ordered Rasam Idli Vada, Schezwan Dosa and Sada Dosa. The food was really good. And service was also good. They had varieties of chutney. A must try for south indian food lovers.

Visited yesterday for the first time at this branch. Tried outdoor seating and the atmosphere was not much cold. Coming to food , v have ordered dosa platter, military ghee dosa, Indian Bhaji dosa and biryani . dosa platter consists of spring dosa, Indian bhaji dosa and paneer dosa, in which spring dosa was average and other dosa were good in taste.
Military ghee dosa was also something new to try but economically dosa platter would b better choice as v get 3 dosas at Rs.300 compared to other dosa costing minimum Rs.200.
Overall it was good experience, staff members were polite in nature, should visit once for their outdoor seating. Will go for 3.5 star
Been to CGRoad branch of Sankalp for the first time...
sitting are bit congested inside... cant opt for outside due to cold winter night..( very rare in ahmedabad)
Coming to food they are the best in terms of their chutney collection.. their dosas were nice too..
just a suggestion..the serving vessel for Sambar can burn your finger if its too hot like ours yesterday... it can be changed if possible..
Service was great.... humble and polite..
Must visit if you're fan of South Indian food.
The rooftop ambience is quiet catchy.
A good hangout spot for family and friends in evening.
Friendly staff.
Quick service.
And rest all is awesome sankalp tasty foooddd !!!
Nice place, enjoy the food with very nice ambience.....!! Very nice to be there again..! Kind and polite staff. Look forward to taste again and again
Very nice experience. We had ordered onion pakora in starter. It was nice.
One cheesy spring dosa
Mysore masala dosa
Both dosas are nice
Enjoyed it very much
Adorable experience.. NYC ambience as well as NYC food too.. the quality of dosa's is so good.. Dosa lover must visit this place.. good to pln with family or friends.. somehow costly but overall is good
We were a party of 9 and had an amazing meal. I had a Udipi Rava Masala and it was simply divine. I ate and literally went to heaven. Texture, crispiness, fillings, everything was just right. Sambar was piping hot and really great
Very old outlet of sankalp at C.G Road, Opp muncipal market...having both indoor and outdoor seating area...best part is to choose outdoor terrace seating...with amazing ambiance.
Had tried cheesey spring dosa :
A cheesey dosa with feeling of crunchy veggies loaded with lots and lots of cheese...
military ghee roast dosa :
A perfectly crisp dosa served with seperate potato bhaji is truly bliss.
And their traditional golden crisp dosa was decent...
All the chutneys were tasted great with sambhar and finally their cute little pan was must haves after ending meal...
Everything was fine like food , place , taste of food , atmosphere , cleanliness and all ... But main thing is that instead of having location on main road its quit difficult to reach on 3 rd floor by stairs because it ends on 1 st floor and you must take lift to reach there .. but that's not major point .. enjoy your food here .. great place . Must visit .. 👏🏻🌹
Sankalp the name is enough to eat authentic south Indian taste, it was fun and full njoyment to visit sankalp. Ordered Mysore masala dosa and rava onion dosa it was really good taste.
Have been here once. The food and service is better than the rest of the outlets which i have tried. The best authentic restaurant in Ahmedabad till now. Loved it.
Had ordered 2 dosas and the gold xperience was awesome. Sankalp has been my all time favourite for south indian food. The sambhar they provide cannot be compared with anyone.
Sankalp
This place is Heaven for Southindian lovers..
They are having all type of meal, it is not limited to South Indian Idli Wada and Dosa...
They have exotic Beverages, Mouthwatering Starters.
What to say about Main Cource..
It is tempting...
They have fine decore to complimate food perfectly.
Antioxidant Water as Drinking water and lot more..
Yes, Ahmedabad is having much more and much cheaper options when it comes to Dosa..
BUT
Sankalp is Class... and like there is saying..
"Class never goes out of style"
Pricing is bit higher but after a fine dinning experience You'll find worth that high price.
Coming to this particular Outlet...
It has finest dinning atmosphere among all Sankalp Outlets as it is a 'Rooftop Restaurant'
You can opt for two type of Dinning Atmospheres..
One is Open Garden, Other is Regular AC hall kind of.
Services are up to the mark.
Over all 4 out of 5 as there is always scope for improvement!!
Good taste of South Indian food. Staff is very attentive and polite. Provide excellent service. We liked it very much and would surely recommend
Superb food 🥘!!! Mouth watering Dosa and Sambhar can be found here. It maintains the authenticity of South Indian food. Overall a must visit place for south indian lovers 👍🏻

Sankalp is one of my favourite. Most of time we visited SG highway but this was just 2nd visit. This has both open to Terese and AC options. Test is same as other Sankalp. We tried onion chilly uttapam, butter idly, onion vada, Capsicum onion garlic dosa. All options are quite delicious. I like number of options for chatany which are not comparable with any other South Indian restaurants.
Hey Guys....
Let's start another FOOD JOURNEY...I went to AHMEDABAD and explored this much talked about place..We went to this place which is FAMOUS for South Indian and this is one of personal favorite cuisines also...let's start the journey
We ordered their famous VAGHAR IDLI which was soo different from the normal IDLI...jus loved the flavour and the way it was prepared...5 on 5 for this 😋😋
NEXT on the list was THEIR FAMOUS 4 FEET DOSA which has the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for being the LONGEST DOSA...TRUST me guys I was soo impressed with the length that I could not believe my eyes...it was served with the MASALA n chutney separately...Any star would demean its value.....
THEN I ordered virgin mojito which was also nice and just the way I like it...
The ambience was nice and had good seating arrangement...Must visit place if you are in AHMEDABAD as it has various outlets their...LOVED EVERYTHING ❤❤
▪️Schezwan Dosa!
This is one of the best dishes of the place. Dosa tasted amazing with perfect flavours of Schezwan sauce and other stuffing. Perfect spice and great quality makes it a must try!😍
Price : ₹225

▪️Mysoor cheese masala dosa!
We expected much from this but turned out quite ordinary. Other places in the city provide better options for the same. So you should skip ordering this!
Taste buds delight: 3/5

▪️Spring dosa!
I’m personally not much into this but it turned out really amazing. Fills your tummy very well and also satisfying to your taste buds. Thumbs up!👍🏻

Visited this restaurant that's not very easy to locate on the 3rd floor of Samir building... But all the search was worth it... We started by ordering the simple steamed idlis that turned out soft, fluffy and perfectly cooked... In fact before the idlis arrived, we were in a for a good surprise; the waiter came with 5 cute bowls containing 5 different chutneys to go with our dishes : A mint coriander chutney that was medium spicy, a red chilli garlic chutney that was tangy and spicy, molagapodi with til oil : the south Indian chutney powder (containing a mix of chutney dal, red chillies and coriander seeds roasted before ground to powder), freshly ground thick coconut chutney and another coconut chutney with curry leaves and chutney dal that was a bit liquid... Next we ordered masala fried idlis that were cooked in blanched tomato puree and stir fried with onions and served... This was made nicely and didn't actually need any chutney to go with it as it was complete in itself... We then ordered the capsicum chilli garlic dosa that was a okay... The waiter also gives a you a bowl full of sambar that is exactly how you would find in any south Indian household... He also continuously replenished it once it got consumed! All in all, it's a must visit place to anyone who's craving for authentic South Indian food!
A great place for authentic South India Food in Ahmadabad. The service is quick and prices are within acceptable range. One must try their Uthappam which tastes really good and the masala idly one of their signatures dishes. Their Mumbai branch hold the Guinness book of record for the largest Dosa and they proudly display the poster in the restaurant.
I wish the premises including the toilet could have been more cleaner and hygienic.
Loved the variety of dosas here...i tried the baghere idli which s a must have .. I didn't go for the conventional rava or Masala dosa...tried out the tomato and corn utthapam which was good and lightly made.Must visit for South Indian cravings !!
I had been to Sankalp, Ashram road when I was very young. I was visiting Ahmedabad after 21 long years, so I and some of my local resident friends decided to visit the terrace ambience Sankalp at CG road.
Unfortunately, we reached by 10:30 pm. Couldn't order much items as most of them weren't served that late. I ordered achaari pyaaz dosa and fruit punch mocktail. The dosa though a little too buttery was delicious! Sambhar was steaming hot and good. of all the 5 different types of chutneys served, I loved the red garlic and green mint chutney the most.
Will be visiting the place again during my next trip and will make sure to go more early so that I can try out more items.
Sankalp represents the authentic South indian Dishes. The quality is always upto the mark. Chutneys and sambhar are mind blowing as always.
I have tried almost every variety in sankalp and is satisfied with the taste.
Here the seating arrangements are super cool. In evening you can sit outdoors on roof top and enjoy your meal.
Overall: Food: 4/5
Service:4/5
Food- 3.75/5
Ambiance- 3.5/5 casual not so different.(inside)
Service-3.5/5
Because of sunday the service was little slow.
The paper dosa first we had was not fresh then theu served freshly made dosa. 2/5
We also had cheese mysore masala.3.5/5(quantity was sufficient)
And masala boondi4/5
The bill had mysore masala plus extra cheese that was quite shocking because i dont know like why it was like that.
Dine on casual days rather on sunday.
Family type of dinning. Or chilling with family.
Looking forward to get better service incase i visit in future.
A fair South Indian resto , expensive though and think should be less pricy considering the food they serve ... we have few dosa, rasam rice and veg pulao... pulao they mentioned chef special but didn’t feel like to me... the overall menu should be look again with proper serving style , price and taste too... wouldn’t recommend if you want to have authentic South Indian, but as a mix cuisine it’s works well...

Best Place For Dosa Lovers If They Want Some Different Kind Of Taste And Types Of Dosa... Taste of Sambhar Is Yummy ...
Good Environment...
Good Service ...
Being new to the city, I was not much aware of the restaurants I can visit.
Using Google option's to find "South Indian food near me", I was shown "Sankalp" on the top with 4.2 rating.
Without any hesitation, I decided to give it a try.
The building is not difficult to locate, as they have a big board just in front of it. However, we faced difficulty to find the entry point ;)
The place has the options for indoor and outdoor seating.
They have good varieties in everything.
We ordered:
- Dahi Wada with sweet curd: The curd was nice, but the Wada was having little smell of oil. Not that great, I have eaten better at different south Indian outlets.
- Onion Uttapam (butter) - To our surprise, he had kept a slice of butter on top of the Uttapam. Although the taste was good.
- Onion Masala Dosa (butter) - Crisp dosa, with garlic paste, it was too much, and masala. The salt was on the upper side, could have been a little less.
- Golden Crisp Dosa - A fancy name given to a plain dosa. Not too crisp though.
The sambhar was delicious however the chutney didn't taste that great.
Overall, an average experience. Felt a little higher on the price side.
A restaurant that needs no introduction. An epitome of north indian flavoured south indian cuisine offers delicious items accompanied by unlimited sambhar and chutneys. Pro Tip: The main attraction of this place is Cheese Masal Dhosa.
Mine and my wife’s favorite restaurant at c g road. Not only because of the food but also because of the roof top location. Every time we would choose corner table overlooking c g road. Every time we visit we would order masala boondi, onion masala dosa for me and rawa masala dosa for my wife. Absolutely relish the taste.
And last but not the least, the pan as a mouth freshener is the best.
Ambience - 3/5, Food variety - 3.5/5, Food taste - 3.5/5, Service - 4/5, Value for money - 4/5, Overall experience - 3.5/5.
Firstly this restaurant chain will have the same taste of sambhar everywhere, which I would say is pretty decent but not too phenomenal.
The tastes are not authentic south indian, they are like north indianised south indian.
One good part of this restaurant is consistency of food taste. But bad part, it becomes boring when one doesnt change, that's a reason that all restaurent doesnt have rating over 3.5 or 3.6, which means average.
Coming to this restaurant, it has a roof top arrangement of seating as well but I was bot at all impressed by the amenities. On one side where there are lot of plants there are no fans and also its dimly lit. While on the other side where we get fans, the view is not good, on the top lot of spider webs and even fans are very dirty which kind of turns off the mood.
Inner seating is again a constant.
This chain though boasts of lots of fusion dosa but again its ok ok types. Sadly the normal authentic dosa like rawa dosa, masaala dosa or mysore dosa they are also average (not so crisp, not so flavourful) This I am commenting since I have eaten umpteen times at sankalp in various cities.
Here I ordered onion rawa masaala dosa and my friend ordered special bhaji dosa. I specially asked to make rawa dosa crisp, but again it disappointed me. Bhaji dosa was different but not out of the world.
After having dosa we were still not full so we ordered masaala idli which was good. Very fresh, not at all dry.
The best part is masaala idli. They serve lpt of chatni but again it was missing that flavours to make it memorable.
The waiters here are not so well trained and they don't smile and all which makes the experience a bit sour.
Everytime every food don't need a Description....
South Indian food is the best!!!!
Sankalprestaurantindia The whole dosa was just awesome,no doubt Sankalp is the best😍
The perfect sambhar&white chutney were juuussstt perfect!!!
& Do u know that masala dosa was listed one of the world's Top 50 most delicious food complied by CNN Go.com,Yes that's True😍😍😍😍😍
Best Food Quality. One of the best rest for Dosas lover. Also service was awesome.Best place for family rest in C.g road . Thanx to Sankalp, You made my day.
It's one of my favourite place to have south indian food. The ambience of this restaurant is as usual and like other Sankalp's restaurant.
I had ordered 4 feet long DOSA and it was very delicious. The service was very good. It was a bit costly but was worth the money.
I heard about this place from a friend who was a native of Ahmedabad. I liked that place. We had ordered a military ghee roast dosa, vegetable idli and filter coffee. Dosa was great. I didn't like the idli at all. It had some kind of a weird taste. Coffee was average. I was expecting something better from a restaurant that serves good south Indian food.
Ambiance - good
Service - good
Schzwan rava dosa and masala dosa were good . Mysore masala dosa ok. Cheese dosas should be avoided .
Place and ambiance is very normal.
Service is fast.
Good place for South Indian.
Eaten dosas here and liked them. They are delicious and filling. Sambar is delicious and chutneys offered with this are yummy and in variety. 1mark extra for Terrace sitting.
The food was diliverd late as another order was placed from the same place.
Also it was soo cold and stiff and moreover dilivry charges from both of us was charged.
If you are taking charge to both of us please serve it on time and fresh. This is highly unprofessional.
Sankalp has been a prominent restaurant when it comes to authentic South Indian cuisine in Ahmedabad.
This is the first branch that sankalp opened in the city and I have been visiting this particular outlet since I was a kid, qaulity of food has surely increased and it's an good sign for any restaurant. On busy weekend you will find waiting for this restaurant and you can opt to seat inside or outside (if weather permits).
Last time when I visited this place we ordered Mysore masala dosa, Shezwan dosa and panner dosa. Shezwan dosa was a disappoint as it didn't tasted as Chinese it should be, Mysore malasa was good as you will get in other restaurants but panner dosa is amazing as the filling of panner is properly cooked. The best thing that isn't change for this restaurant is the sambhar, taste is consistent since years and it's amazing, even the range of chutneys provide are good.
My rating for this restaurant would surely have been 4.5 but I am giving 4 because of its high price, as soon as a restaurant becomes famous it start increasing it's price and same happened with sankalp too, price for panner dosa and Shezwan were 250 each which without any doubt is higher than a dosa should be and hence I have given .5 less.
But overall the experience is always good and will surely continue to visit this restaurant for really good dosa's and yes also fo there paan ;)
Sankalp is the safe option in unknown cities.
I was there few wees ago with friends. Let's start with food. We ordered masala vegetable idli, military ghee roeast dosa and spring dosa. Out of these masala veg. Idli and spring dosa was delicious. Ghee dosa was ok . Serving sambhar was one of a kind. Chutneys ware so spicy and tasty. Chutnies and ambience is main attraction. They took so loong during rush hours. Clean and cool place. Must visit
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
Premise: We went to Sankalp on 8th Feb 2017 for dinner, which ended up to be a great decision. The weather outside was perfect and we decided to sit on their terrace seating.
Food: I ordered the 3 dosa platter and an onion utthapam to follow. Both were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Only thing I would suggest is to inform them to reduce the oil in the utthapam. It was drenched, in my opinion.
Service: it was good. The waiters were prompt and polite and were attentive. It was not 5 star service, but much better than one would expect in Ahmedabad.
Ambiance: the ambiance was good but nothing exceptional. The primary contributing factor was the weather. If it was in May to October, it would be unbearable but the weather was permitting. The seating was nice as well and the view of CG road was a change from the norm.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good South Indian meal and definitely sit outside if the weather is nice.
Its a South Indian restaurant. But the taste might be different. Food is really good.
Bit expensive. You may face difficult for finding the restaurant since it's on the 3 Rd floor of one complex.
Service is good.
With so much debris around, not easily accessible, still manage reaching the restaurant nestled in a corner.... . inviting place.
Water served in brass tumblers in the first few minutes, subsequently three chutneys and gun powder served in cute brass containers...................rising expectations.
Right air conditioning, well organised seating, mild Hindu devotionals and a smiling server.....................soaring expectations.
Rasam idly with generous rasam, medu vada. Dosa and Uthappam must try. Sambar and rasam served in a Alauddin magic lamp type saucer and washing off with filter coffee.. The server was serving as if he read each ones mind and expectations. When the bill arrives with paan you don't check the bill twice....leave a generous tip.
Because
Heart is full....Stomach over full
Lovely food and good service. Recommend Sankalp special idli.
Sankalp is authentic South Indian Restaurant. Entire South Indian items served here are awesome, tasty and delicious. It has outdoor rooftop sitting arrangement also.
Amazing taste of South Indian food. Mysore masala dosa was so yummy, the chutneys are just like we do at our homes in South India. Rava Dosa was crispy and yummy 👌. One must surely try if they are a South Indian food Being New to Ahmedabad we drive around to find a good place to eat. I was more particular to have have a South Indian food. After a long search & rejecting 5 to 6 places we landed up at Sankalp. The exterior of the Resturant isn't appealing but we we entered the Resturant we found it to be very well designed, perfect indoor temperature meeting upto international standards, extremely polite & humble Manager, waiters , captain.... Food was excellent and authentic South Indian in taste ... Had to most wonderful experience and came to know that they have branches not only all across India but World too..... Would suggest it to everyone who to enjoy Authentic South Indian Cuisine.... A must visit.... Thanks everyone at team Sankalp for a most wonderful experience in a unknow city....
Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5!Amazing food - excellent service. Went with my mom dad and seeing them happy is best
Very tasty and delicious food. Quality food, quick service, resonable pricing.
Idli, wada, Uttapam, so many variety of Dhosa, and with variety of chutneys make the taste so unique and awesome.
Good place to dine in.
One of the best South Indian restaurant in Ahmedabad. Varieties of dosa, uttapam, idli, etc served here. Very good taste. Nice and well behaved staff. It had so many branches all over India and abroad.
Good food. Clean and peaceful atmosphere. Great service and staff attitude. Signage outside the complex should be at eye level and not on rooftop. Difficult to locate even if u r standing at the entrance of the complex. Do something about this. Overall good experience. Reasonable prices, good portions.
Must try Maysoor Masala Dosa. Food was awesome, it was very clean and friendly staff. They even have indoor and outdoor options, they have space for small functions and gatherings good for 50-70 people. Took pics of masala Bundi and Dahi Bundi but dosa and uttapam were so good that I forgot to take pictures. Must visit for authentic south Indian food with family (average 200-400₹ per person)
Great experience..best place to have south indian in Ahmedabad. ......the good thing is the taste and service is same very authentic taste and service as ever...keep it up.
