So whenever I visit Ahemdabad I prefer to have dal Wada once nearby anywhere .
So my cousin suggested me try at Ambika dalvada centre
So I visited there the place was too crowded as I went before COVID-19
And it was so tasty and mouthwatering
I feel I can go again and have it
So if you are a fan of dal vada then you must visit this place and try for take away as place is tiny to sit for a good bunch of people.

The best dalawada, crispy, crunchy and tasty in the town. Yes there are others, but this one is just perfect. And it's the most healthy fried snack possible because it's made from Moong Dal. It's diabetic friendly by all means if you exercise portion control. And with Kanda Limboo & fried green chillies by its side. It's an awesome mid-day snack. Come monsoons and you start craving it. But it's great all year through.

Ambika Dalwada is one of the oldest and famous dalvada joint in Ahmedabad. They make dalwada from quality ingredients and oils. They only use Ground Nut oil for frying and do not use burnt oil which gives fresh taste than others. Must visit this place whenever you happen to visit Ahmedabad. Also nice place to discuss over gulping dalvada with friends.
(Mung Dal) are soaked overnight, de-skinned, and ground to a rough paste and mixed with green chillies. The paste is shaped into balls and deep-fried. It has crispy skin & fluffly Centre.
Vada is known as bara (vada) and mungaura in Bihar & UP and Vadai in Tamilnadu. Indian vada is near to the recipe of Falafal ( Mediterian preparation with chickpeas) & Hushpuppy of South America.
Every Region has its own version of Vada for e.g. Mendu Vada is made from Urad Dal (black gram), Masala Vada or amai wada from toor dal, Maddur Vada from Onion, Rava Vada from Semolina, Sabudana vada from Sago, Kerai vada from Spinach and Bhajani cha vada: a vada made from a flour made from bajri, jawar, wheat, rice, channa dal, cumin, coriander seeds etc- a Nutritious vada of Maharashtra.
Must visit place on rainy eve. Same taste and same crunch over the years. Mostly enjoyed takeaway at office .They are also having some seating arrangements at the shop.

Not writing much about ambience as they are just having one small and simple shop to serve public.. But still they are having some tables and chairs if someone wants to enjoy dalwada at place itself.. Must try once.. Or more than once..

The dalvadas at this legendary joint are amazing! The owner used to have a small road side thela some 15-20 years back and I distinctly remember eating there as a kid. The quality is still the same. Must try for all dalvada lovers.

Best dal vada and sides like chutni and onion also when there is line they give you the masala to try it at home for cooking but the taste only comes when he gives you cooked.

This is the every Sunday evening nashta with tea at my place. Even our guests from out of town know that they're gonna be treated with dalwadas from Ambika Dalwada at least once in their stay here. Its fun to see how people line up outside this compact little joint, waiting for their turn to say "so-&-so kg dalwada pack karjo". The fried chillies and salted onions are to die for. I don't mind even if my mouth smells of onions afterwards, but you have to have a bite of these yummilicious dalwadas with the chillies and onions. It is a must try for each and everyone in Ahmedabad, visitors and locals.

Although it might look like a small shabby joint, don't let the look of it fool you. Come monsoon and you will find people waiting in queue for as long as half an hour to get their share of the crispy and pipping hot delicacy.

I know some of the regular customers prefer to place their order on phone and have someone collect it later. However, nothing beats the taste of having the dalwads when you have it right there along with lemon sprinkled onions and fried chillis. A must go if you are in the University area.

If you're in Ahmedabad and by chance around the commerce college and Navrangpura or CG Road/University region. And feeling up for some snack. Then This is THE place to be.
Daal Vada has been a weakness of almost all of the Gujjus around the world. And these people are the masters for the perfect taste, spice and color of the Dal vada.
The place looks like somewhat small roadside eatery, but it has sitting place of like some 5 tables. Where you sit just beside the kadchi. And the aroma of fresh out of the pan daal vada invigorates your senses. Which is completely blissful.
The service there is very very prompt. And the quantity of vada for standard 300gm plate is also wholesome, which lemon sprinkled onions and fried chilies.
They also serve other snacks like jalebi and fafda at times.
And, not to forget, if its raining.....this is a must must go place. Your fun will be amplified :)

The name Ambika has become synonymous to dalwada in Ahmedabad. And you can witness this on a day after it has rained heavily. As soon as the rain stops, a bylane on the H.L. college road gets abuzz with a serpentine queue of people waiting to get dalwada. Wading through all the water-log in this area, people drive themselves to Ambika, wait as long as it requires, buy dalwada and devour them steaming hot with friends and family. It is almost a post-rain ritual with Amdavadis over the years now.
Having piping hot dalwada with green chilli and chatni with rain-shed fluffy clouds in the backdrop, sweet smell of wet soil and the slight pitter-patter of water drops running off terraces is an undescrib-able experience. They serve dalwada here at a premium price than any other place in the city. But its every bit worth. Ambika also sells dalwada batter which can be taken home, made into wada and deep fried. More than majority of dalwada sold at Ambika goes as parcel.
After monsoon, Ambika becomes a mellowed down place because of the demand pattern. But any day round the year, you get lip-smacking dalwada here. This Gujarati snack item is one of my favourite especially from Ambika.
There's now way, you would give this place a miss even if you see a tiring long queue. Its worthwhile waiting!

Its a must must must try place for dalwadas. No other place in the city beats this place for dalwadas. Its a small outlet sometimes difficult to locate, but ask anyone where is Ambica centre.. and you'll be at the right place for dalwadas.
They also provide batter, so health conscious junta can make it at home, and trust me its equally tasty.

Very old place near HL college which is the most famous Dalwada joint in the city. Ranks No. 1 for Dalwadas. They serve you dalwadas with onions and chillies that are spicy and tasty. No other joint has tried to beat his recipe. Nice place for an evening snack.
They have few tables if you want to try it right away. Better you go for a take-away. If you are too hygiene concious than they also sell batter so you can cook yourself at home. You will find huge rush in the rainy days so much that the joint seems like an ant colony. At that time, it gets huge orders that it manages to sell every gram of Dalwada and shuts down for the next day.

Ambica dalwada centre from ahmedabad has got badge of best dalwada in ahmedabad by radio mirchi 91.5 fm . I have tasted it for first time, but dalwada was really tasty, crunchy and delecious. People have to stay in queue to have dalwada . They serve with oniom and mirchi. I had dalwada of baroda, which was more softer than tastier than this
But this dalwasa was very different, it has some many different masala added in it. Which make this dalwada best in ahmedabad. People in different city have different taste. I loved dalwada of vadodara more than ahmedabad, even i am not from vadodara or from ahmedabad.

It is a small shop.Have limited seating capacity.Only 2 tables.It has wash basin and drinking water facility.Very good taste of dalvada.Softy one.They make fresh dalvada if you request.I recommend to visit this place if you are fond of dalvada.Must visit place.
