Prepared with perfection and served with emotion! Right from the coolers to desserts, I was able to relish every bite and was fulfilling my cravings for spices at every serving. I couldn't ask for a better cheat day. Do not forget to try the butter chicken and the vada pav! Goddamned authentic!

Ambiance: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 The ambiance was plain. Not so fancy. They didn't have worked for it. The washroom door was ill designed and faulty. Ordered 1. DHABE KA CHICKEN TIKKA 2. MURGH DUM BIRIYANI DHABE KA CHICKEN TIKKA was authentic in taste with the masala they have made it but still there was huge amount of oil comparatively. Quantity was low compared to its price. But the taste was phenomenal I liked the MURGH DUM BIRIYANI comparatively. It was a lot of quantity for a single person even for two person if you have a low appetite. The Chicken pieces were well cooked, soft. Although I would have liked more if it was a little more spicier. RECOMMENDED

This is my favourite restaurant for North Indian cuisine in Ahmedabad. Unlike a lot of cafes and restaurants in the city where North Indian food turns out to be inedible and oil-laden red and orange gravies, Masala Canteen serves actual North Indian food. Their biryanis are on par with what I’ve had in Lucknow and Delhi. I frequently visit this place and have over time, tried their various starters, dals and rice dishes. Their food is subtly spiced and very well prepared. And the cherry on the top is the super courteous staff! They are very helpful, polite and efficient. All in all, Masala Canteen is the place to go for good biryanis and curries and a great dining experience in Ahmedabad.

I will start with the quality of the food they Serve "I Just Loved it." We tried a few things, like Panner Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, Panner Kurchan, laccha paratha & Masala Papad. Would prefer to visit more often.
Interior is also amazing, Simple and Decent.

I had ordered the food from here so many times, but visited the cafe for the first time today. The food was great, as usual. The only thing they lacked was attentiveness. As we were sitting at the last table, the staff were not even looking at us.

We visited this restaurant recently on a weekday for dinner! There were 2-3 tables occupied and we were 5 of us who had gone for dinner. We ordered veg and non veg manchow soup- these were too good- spicy as it is supposed to me! The flavours were too prominent and we loved fried noodles served with it. Masala papad were crispy as well. The green chutney and onion salad served complimentary have become our favourite now!!!
Subz cheese sheekh and mushroom starter (both veg)- the taste is still on our tongue!!! Mushrooms were cheesy and sauted nicely in 2 different sauces- both sauces were spicy and mushrooms were marinated really well! Subz cheese sheekh again was roasted really well! Proportion of cheese n veggies were too good!
In main course, ordered paneer lahore which was setved in brown gravy. Spicy gravy made of onion and tomato - thick gravy with soft cubes of paneer - we ordered various type of Indian bread! Garlic naan was our favourite- the subji went really well with the naan!
Ordered indian desserts which again were really good! Loved shahi tukda more!!
Can’t wait to visit this place again to try different dishes!

Yummy food served by courteous staff. The portion size of the curries is quite good, good serving enough for two. We ordered Kolhapuri Egg Curry, Paneer Khurchan and Paneer Lababdar , all the three curries had distinct flavours. The Egg Biryani was delicious. Could improve by mellowing down a little on the spice level. Overall a scrumptious lunch.

We had our lunch here. We ordered two main course dishes of chicken. The portion size was good. The butter chicken was yummy. Service was good and the staffs were courteous as well.

The place has a good ambience and the staff is friendly. The food served here is quite good. We ordered Chicken chilly, Butter chicken and a chicken biryani and they all tasted quite good and the proportions were also quite reasonable. Gold is accepted so I would really suggest you to visit.

One of the very few places in Ahmedabad which serves both veg and non veg. We had Kokam Ras, Jhinga curry Patta fry, One paneer Gravy, Butter chicken, one fish gravy, garlic naan and few other indian rotis. Right from refreshing drinks to maincourse everything was so delicious that we wanted to eat and taste more dishes. It definitely deserves 5 star for food.

Do not go by the Size of this restaurant. It's very small with a very large and deliciously outstanding Indian food. This place took me by surprise. Thought I'd go for a casual meal. And it ended up being one of my best meals in Ahmedabad. They have a special seekh kebab which is a must try. So is their mutton chops. And chicken gravy. Dal and tikka. We didn't have place to eat a dessert though they kept recommending. Waiting for a branch in South Mumbai.

We were out shopping at the Ahmedabad One mall and at around 10 pm had a craving for some kebabs and Daal. Upon a quick scan of eateries around we realised, our favorite (from Surat's experience a few days ago) the Masala Canteen was just across the road. So we headed for the same. We again went for our favorite Kebab E Khaas, which is a mix of chicken mince, wrapped in a chicken kebab with some North Indian spices and cheese, made to perfection in an earthen clay barbecue (in pic). We also had their Daal Makhanai and egg curry with some Paneer chilli. All the dishes were really nice and the staff was very attentive and eager to serve the guests. A nice and cosy place to hang out with friends as well as enjoy some of the best kebabs in Ahmedabad

Have been to Masala canteen a number of times and everytime the experience was as amazing as the one prior. The manager Mr.Lakshman is actually amazing providing a personal touch to the experience. Food is always consistently delicious. Kolhapuri egg curry is a must try with thickened gravy along with garlic naan.... slllurrrrp sllluurrpp... Masala Canteen has become the first priority for me and my friends. Definitely recommend.

I was a bit skeptical about this place but it exceeded my expectations. I loveeeed it's Chicken Dum Biryani-Tender chicken and a right mixture of spices. Special mention for the manager, Mr Laxman who personally attended each table with utmost care even in rush hour. Overall a good experience.
Eversince we moved to Ahmedabad, Masala Canteen has been our go-to place. Very good food, great ambience and service. The restaurant manager, Laxman is always smiling and a great host. :) Consistent quality in food, no bullshit.

Just the perfect place to order starters at night for me. Kebabs were super and the paneer tima soft and amazing. The zomato offer was like a cherry on top. Highly recommended.

Went here for lunch with a friend. We'd good quite late in the afternoon, so after a while, we had tane resturant to ourselves, which may be one of the reasons we got superb service. But then again, maybe the service is fantastic even when the place is crowded. The first thing that you notice as you enter into the restaurant are the high ceilings and the fresh, bright ambiance. The tables are well spaces and the seating is pretty comfortable. As you grab a seat, the fancy cutlery will not fail to catch your attention - extremely gaudy, yet somehow, classy as well. Good job with the interiors and the ambiance.
We ordered a Subz Bharta Masala, a Cheese Garlic Naan, Lachhedar Paratha, Mango Lassi, and Subz Hara Masala Biryani. The Subz Bharta Masala was extremely surprising - it was like an explosion of vegetables and colours - something I had never seen or tasted until now - that too in a Indian curry - and it tasted even better than it looked! The Mango Lassi was delectable. Lacchedar Paratha wasn't just another Paratha with a different name - as in most restaurants, here, it was a proper Lacchedar Paratha. Even the Cheese Garlic Naan had a well balanced flavours of both, garlic and cheese - just enough to add a twist but not enough to mess with the taste of the curry. Finally, we ordered the Subz Hara Masala Biryani, which was also fantastic - I can safely say that it is amongst the best Biryanis I've tried in Ahmedabad.
Place is located at very good area. Vibes are good. They have awesome set of cutleries. They serves nort Indian cuisine. Food is very awesome in taste specially some starteres. Service is very premium and cost vise it is little bit costlier but total worth of the food and service you get here.

Chicken awadhi was 5/5, great taste, tender chicken, one of the best gravy I tasted. Fish curry again 5/5. Awesome curry, great taste. Garlic naan was well cooked and tasty. Will definitely visit again.
