After visiting this place I really enjoyed eating the same ..
located on offset of cg road this place has very basic interiors..
tried the thali:
4 types of sabji, rotli , Bhakri , farsan, salad , kadhi, dal, rice , khichdi ,papad , chash and gulabjamun all in unlimited quantities..
The statement " eat till you drop " goes perfect with it ..
people who are missing out on some good quality gujju food must try this place .. it's cost effective and even lighter on stomach!!

Whenever i am in Gujarat, i make it a point to have a Gujarati Thali and last week i was staying at Oyo rooms@ C.g road and was recommended Vallabha Dining hall, as it was just a few meters away from the hotel.
It is a small place with hardly any ambience, but at the end it is all about the food. Enjoyed it a lot.
Of what i remember(unfortunately did not take a pic);
Dal khati meethi- awesome
Chana- very good
Tindli - delicious
Paneer dish was decent- a little sweet
The negative was the Patra, this had a lot more sweet than the Patras i have eaten, which was why could not eat it.
And at the end the Basundi, delicious.
Totally recommended.

Serving since long; at least 15 years that I got to know. If you are looking for a reasonable option for a Gujarati Thali; this is your choice. Nothing fancy just a a very credible and a convenient place for Gujarati dining.

A traditional and very simple Gujarati food outlet in Ahmedabad. The place scores over many other well known Gujarati food joints because of its simplicity and limited but quality offerings. Apart from offering a Gujarati thali at reasonable rates the place also maintains good standards of quality of food. Do not expect too much on the ambience or variety but whatever limited you get in thali is worth the price.

This is my go to place if i want Gujarati lunch that actually tastes like home cooked food. The menu is quite simple. This place only offers fixed menu thali. They have 3 subjis + 1 lentils + 1 dal or kadhi + 1 sweet + chhas + roti or puri + rice + 1 farsan. The subjis differ on day to day basis. When we ate here, it was bataka nu rasa walu shaak, bhindi and gatta ni sabji with desi/kala chanaa as the lentils based item. The sabjis never have excess of either masala or oil. They taste just right. The dal was tasty but a bit sweet, this is expected since it is typical Gujarati dal. For sweet they have variety of things but when we went it was gulab jamun. They were a bit cold but tasted good. For farsan it was sandwich dhokla this time.

This place does not have a pseudo Gujarati menu with Paneer or gravy wali sabjis. This is 100% proper Gujarati food. And unlike other thali places the service and staff are actually very courteous. They are interested in serving you rather than in quickest turn around time.

The legend in Gujarati thaliz. I don't remember when I ate here for the first time but should not be less than 16 years. This place is olden than that. Awesome simple food, great Gujarati taste, fastest service, hygiene, and economical too. I always visit this place at least 4-5 times a year. Most recommended.

Well, this place is for sure to surprise you if you eat gujarati thali's occasionally only..... i must say that this place served amazing quality gujarati food, at a very decent price. No pomp and show, it just has a very decent ambiance, very courteous staff members and just the right quantity and variety that you can eat.
The Amraas that they served was simply amazing and would love to go there yet again to have the most hygienic and quality gujarati food in that price.

I think it is the oldest dining hall in Ahmedabad. The food is like home made mother's food. People over here are very good and humble. As it is very old dining hall you can not get modern glitter here but will definitely get excellent Gujarati food.

The taste of every item in thali is very good. The service is nice and serving staff is well attentive. So if you want to try thali at reasonable price you can visit this place.

For 250 per person with unlimited food, it's one of the best Gujarati place you would like to visit.
Its a superb traditional gujarati veg restaurant serves unlimited thali four kind of veg one sweet two starter dal/kadi rice papad tawa roti puri butter milk pickle and green salad chatani just for (200/-) two hundreds only per head. Location is bit odd but worth visiting if one love traditional home made food. Parking is an issue as usual. Its in the street just opposite to metro show room. Taste is wonderful. Service is good. Timing is just right for Indian schedule. One who is found of late nights dinner may not suits him as it closes at 10 PM . one can take family pack parcel full parcel good for 4-5 adult cost you Rs 600/- and half at 300/- (good for 2-3) people.

It's a nice restaurant to have a gujarati dish. A combination of a farshan, a sweet, roti, 4 sabzi, dal, rice, papad, butter milk etc. is good here in an Authentic Gujarati Thali. If you are nearby during lunch hours, go for it.
