The interior is a bit dated. But the food is amazing. Authentic north Indian food. Methi Chicken, Chcken Malai tikka and baked macroni are too good not to be missed
One of the best places here. I've been coming here for over 10 years now and it's one of the best. The food quality is amazing and there's a nice and cozy feeling while eating in this restaurant.
Ignore interior and look of restaurant.....Just come and enjoy best desi punjabi non veg food ... In centre of the city. It's family restaurant...Service also good.
Damn amazing food. Ambience like a restaurant from 90's. Food is fresh, taste is excellent and service just like it should be. Must visit if you like authentic Punjabi taste.
I have been the customer of this restaurant since 1967. They have maintained the taste of chicken malai and panir Massla. The roties and parothas are the best.
Excellent food...very tasty...Neelam Lutf is indeed old gold restaurant. This type of food quality is not available anywhere in Ahmedabad...keep it up.
Been visiting this place since childhood, Good food, normal ambience.. chicken tandoori, butter chicken and chicken tikka are my go to dishes here.
Coming from Delhi and being a punjabi, the Best punjabi food ever in Ahmedabad . Have been to a lot punjabi restaurant in Ahmedabad , but nothing as authentic pinjabi flavors as you can get here. Prices are totally affordable for such great taste. Value for money.
One of the best place to have non-veg, best tandoori chicken in the town... must visit with family to have tasty food...nice staff... good ambience...
Nice quality and perfect North Indian taste of chicken ( chicken khada masala) , nice roomali roti, Daal makhani. Fish fry ( Indian boneless) was also perfect

+3.5
The food of neelam luft is good the non vegetarian food was good we ordered some vegetarian food too and as we tasted the panner but the paneer didn't tasted good and was little rubbery
Great food! I had lunch there today. I love North Indian food and really enjoyed this place. This might be my new favorite place in Ahmedabad.
Tried: Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, and Jeera Rice.
A tiny place but serves with very authentic non-veg food!! A restaurant of a Sardarji .... Excellent!!What else should be mentioned
PS: Butter chicken at its best!!
Older than any non veg restaurant the city has seen, lutf is reminiscent of my college days when eating non veg outside was not a regular thing but considered a cool thing.
Rating it a 3.5 for its food and ambiance back in 2008-2010
@Neelam Lutf
The taste buds that has been remained in my tongue, brought me here to share with you.
Let's go with entire food journey with NEELAM LUTF.
I and my father decided to go to have some north indian food, so we tried at KFC (as usual) but first time in food journey I got a negative response from KFC that we have to wait for almost half n hour to get the food. So we decided to go somewhere else, but could not think about the right place to have some craving chicken chaska, after some time my father came up with the new strike in his mind he told me to take @ "NEELAM" and that's the right decision we had taken on the last week.
Ambiance: 5/5 (if you like ancient caterings)
Cleanliness: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5 (that would be made better if they tried)
Hygienist Place / Food : 5/5 (top notch)
Hangout with: Friends (But I'm with my father :P)
Pocket Friendly: Absolutely
Had tried: Malai Chicken (You can try at once),
Tandoori Chicken (You would not get better tandoori then this in whole ahmedabad)
I must say if you are fond of having oldest ancient types or you can say late 90's type restaurant then you should have to try at least once, I'm damn sure that you would love this place on both manner.
Go give it a try to oldest restaurant of a'bad. (more then 20+ years).
Be foodieie... :)
P.S:
Sorry for the long story at the start :P
Old restaurant in the city, which serves lovely veg and non-veg food. The curries - whether veg or non-veg are nicely cooked. The staff is courteous and overall experience is great!
Ate my first decent non vegetarian meal in Ahmedabad since my arrival. Simple Punjabi food. Portions are very decent.... I suggest ordering one appetiser and one main course for two ppl first and then order more if you want. Rates are also not so bad. Paid about 4000 for 5 people (each ordered and side and a main) which was decent. Nice place for decent home styled Punjabi cuisine
Where were you baby? Missed u big time
Wasnt aware of ur lovely north Indian cuisines, simple ambiance fine rates. Promise to visit you once every week.
Amazing amazing amazing !
I m going to this restaurant from my childhood. But whenever I have been there I enjoyed its food very much. Chicken khada masala, tandoori chicken, bheja fry etc are my favourite & veg food is also very good & specially i like there roti because they are serving wheat aata roti. I feel homely whenever I been there.
One of the oldest restaurant of Ahmedabad. You will not get yummy Palak Paneer like Neelam anywhere else in Gujarat. All chicken n mutton dishes are bestest here. Once you go there you will surely visit again n again..
Whenever I m in a mood for having only simple home like non veg food, this is the only place where I come. It prepares simple delicious non veg varieties which r light in ur palette. Must visit for those who love light home style cooked non veg food.. Must try tandoori chicken and chicken khara masala.
Well it's one of the old joint n I orderd paneer khada masala n veg makhanwala. Taste was very good paneer khada masala was very unique veggie people should definately Try it.
Hii Everybody !!
I always love to go to Neelam Lutf ...it's my favorite place for eating non-veg. They always make very good Tandoori Chicken, Fish is also good and ya they are serving best veg dishes too.
Hope you shall continue the same👍😊.
Awesome food!!
A regular at this place 👌👌
Have been visiting Lutf from past sooo many years... There has been no change in the taste n quality.
Chicken Jhangiri is my all time favorite👍
i have been going here for the last 20 years and i am 20 years old only :D
this is a place where my grandpa used to take my dad when he was 5 years old and the tradition has been going on even since, the ambiance not amazing to be frank its decent but the food is really great, some of the best spring rolls ive ever had in my entire life. Tandoori chicken is a default whenever i visit but the onion salad they give with it it out of the world. its very pocket friendly, for college students and people who are tight on cash its a great catch.
then again ive been going there my entire life so i might be a little biased,
but give it a shot, 100% you wont be disappointed :D
One of the best Place and Very nice food with good quality... Nearly 20 years and above I went thr because of Quality Food with Gud service...👍👌
The food is the real clincher here. Although the place appeared deserted on a Sunday afternoon the food made up for the lack of hustle and bustle.. Decent but quick service.
Recommend - Chicken khada masala with buttery tandoori rotis. One serving of the khada masala would be sufficient for 4-6 rotis.
I had ordered tandoori chicken from this place. The chicken was fresh and the flavours were top notch. The smokiness that an ideal tandoori chicken should have were present and the best part was the absence of deep red food colouring that lots of restaurants use in their tandoori chicken. One of the best places to order non veg food in Ahmedabad. I will be ordering more non veg from their menu soon!
There is no doubt that neelam's lutf serves one of the best chicken tandooris in ahmedabad! But apart from that the, peaceful ambiance makes the dinner more special! It looks old, simple and vintage, and that's what makes it different from other restaurants!
A nyc small place to go with a friends or even family in ahmedabad. My recommendations are fish amritsari..a dish that made me love fish..brilliant taste...awesome masala...one of the liveliest punjabi taste in ahmedabad. Do go once to make your taste buds tingle and crave for more
Carving for punjabi food and want to taste something good, then this is the place to go. Quality is good and the people taking order are courteous, it takes 15 mins to get the food on table after order but it's worth the wait. Right from the first bite of food you are satisfied and your stomach wants more. The garlic roti was awesome and maida is not mixed in flour for making roti. The more you eat, the more you feel satisfied. Only thing which lets you down is location and the interior of the restaurant. It really needs improvement. In terms of rating :
Quality - 4.5/5
Service - 4.5/5
Taste - 4.5/5
Place - 3/5(interior n location)
Overall - 4/5
The place from where I have started non veg. Typical Punjabi joint run by family same cook from so long I think. Non veg is simply great not vary the taste as time goes that's important. Prefer chicken rather than Mutton at this place. Love d typical ambience.
This place needs a developed typical punjabi taste for its food to taste good, If you are too choosy about the ambience this place is not for you. Place has its own class of Pure retro 70's-90's look because they have hardly renovated or changed the place with same punjabi typical taste since long.
#punjabinonveg
I had been here one weekday afternoon feeling hungry, tired and a little wired.
The place was quiet and perfect place for me to have a peaceful meal.
It was virtually empty and the ambience was such that it would give you a relaxed feeling. I had ordered some food (which I cannot recall now) but it was good. Especially with me being very hungry it tasted even better. :)
I am not really sure of the ambience when there will be a lot of people pouring in and out especially at the peak eating hours of lunch and dinner.
However I would like to visit again on a quiet afternoon to have yet another relaxed meal.
amazing food
probably the best punjabi veg as well as non veg restaurant in ahmedabad. thank you
Tandoori was finest of all. I can give 4.5/5 for Tandoori. Rest all doesn't impress much. Ambience 3.0/5. It's worth for price. You can visit at least once.
What to say about this place....Ok let me put it this way....My parents were regular visitors to this place :)
The ambience gives you a glimpse of the 70's vintage feel. If you are a regular here, I bet this place surely takes you down your memory lane.
I have had everything vegetarian that's on the menu (enjoying every bite since I was a kid :)....This is the best place where you can have the very finest of North Indian cuisine & not to forget the awesome Indo-Chinese varieties. Especially the dry Manchurian is very good. Also don't forget to try the Missi Roti.
The only thing that I don't like despite of loving this place more than any other is the degradation in the quality of silverware. Earlier they used to give you bone china dishes giving you a fine dining experience but nowadays they are serving food in melamine dishes.
Have been visiting this place since I first visited Ahmedabad. CLASSIC.....well for me this has been a landmark to find decent and cherishing punjabi front non veg
In the city.
You are special, although few changes....not much has changed. You are just about fine almost every time I have visited.
Again and again....new dishes non veg you have just been that touch of freshness for me....few of my exclusive friends keep this place as a preference after a days work...chill enjoy good food in peace.
This place has it's own sweet class. The 70s look is extremely alluring and I pay this place a visit whenever I crave for some good Indian non-veg. The Chicken Khada, Chicken Curry Home-style and the Chicken Tikka Butter Masala are two of my favourites. The Chicken Butter Masala is not the best I've had but it's good. The Tawa Rotis are extremely soft and fresh and so are the Rumali Rotis. Tandoori Chicken is best among the starters here. And don't forget to try out the Masala Papad here!
Ambience: 4.2/5
Flavours: 4/5
Menu: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Their tandoori items are best. Their consistency of food quality is intact.
Its an Old name in Non veg. Food, when there were no big restaurants in Ahmedabad for Non veg lovers,
This place still has its own Classic Aura,
Ambiance as i said classic... 4 out 5
Service was really nice.... 4 out 5
Food was good, but in this competitive food world, i expect better... 3.5 out 5
but I loved the Tandoori Roti, it is good in taste, u can even eat that without any supporting.
Thanks for a good evening.
Neelam Luft is my all time favourite north indian place. Went there for lunch. I was with a group of all vegetarians so we went for all vegetarian meal. Well each one of the 11 members of my group was a real foodie, and each stamped the verdict - this was simply the best meal they had enjoyed in their lives. I had 10 university youngsters in the group, so we were naturally quite loud (sorry Neelam Luft for all that noise). Paneer tikka was soft and full of flavours. In main course the server suggested us to go for paneer butter masala and dal tadka. Boy, paneer butter masala was mind blowing. If you like Dal Makhani, then you would most probably like this one too.The breads were crisp.
The staff was extremely attentive to our needs and they made sure that our glasses were always full of water and we had all the things we needed. They also recommended us things we would really enjoy. Great hospitality and commendable service. If you are thinking of a restaurant to eat at this weekend, look no further, Neela Luft is the place to go to - food haven!
It was the day when i didn't bring my lunch to office.
A friend suggested me to get lunch from this place. This friend couple of months back was pure vegetarian, started eating non-veg (Chicken) on my urge to taste and now is frequent here for non-veg dishes.
We ordered Chicken Biryani(Boneless), - It was good.
Price:4/5
Food:4/5
Ambience: 2.5/5(Though we sat there for only 20 minutes)
Will Surely try other next time soon.
Although Visited here for few times only but still find this place as one of the favorite place to be in if you are in this part of the city. Guys if you have liking for a spicy Non Veg dishes ..... Please visit this place.
Ambience is very nice..service, taste is awesome....if u love to eat non.veg then its a must visit place for u....
If you are a Non Veg Lover or rather a Craver as I call it, then you should definitely go to this place. Never tried the Veg food there, but for Non Veg-JUSTGOFORIT!!!
The Manager is quite Kool. A Good friendly gentleman and the Dishes are sorted as per the customers wish.
The Chicken was really yummy and as we wanted spicy, we cried our eyes out. Superb place to go for.
Must visit!!
luft neelam what a place ,if u are a non vegetarian then you should atleast go once ,u r surely going to like this place.chicken biryani is my fav over there,i oftenly go there .........
tasty food, chicken and mutton were cooked very well, awesome tandoori chicken , chicken tikka masala , mutton roganjosh..... i will visit this place again and again...
The iconic restaurant of Ahmedabad which has been operating for many decades. One of the very first ones to start serving Punjabi Food to Amdavadis.
The taste and quality is still the same. Visited after a decade. Food satisfaction is 10/10. However, the place was completely empty on Sunday evening at 8:30 PM. Which was pretty fortunate and unfortunate at the same time.
No change in ambience for decades. Old tables and chairs, only a couple of serving people.
I would definitely recommend this to have authentic North Indian food. The veg preparation was so delicious that you can literally feel the taste of each and every vegetable in that. Rotis are purely wheat based. And the crisp is perfect.
Go for it and feel the nostalgia.
Nostalgic moment for me when I visited this place. Some 25-30 years back, this place used to be a crowded one and favourite for Punjabi food. Still the food was as good as those days but the place might have lost a charm. Now only students are found there. But still if you like ethnic Punjabi food then must go with your family.
Neelam's Lutf is by far one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. Great food, good quality, scrumptious, delicious and sufficient in quantity to fill a hungry belly. The quality of non veg food is brilliant and literally unmatched in Ahmedabad, except, probably by Eat Punjab. Do go to Neelam's Lutf for a good meal that's Punjabi at heart.
Good food... Good atmosphere and good service... I loved the bheja fry there... We had butter chicken and mutton gravy which was tender and tasty...

Good food and service. The restaurant has been there since long time and still serves quality food.
From decade I seen this restaurant serve so same taste of nonveg and veg , they maintained same look same interior same taste from more than thirty years , at same place . This restaurant located at University area , at ground floor, whenever we go we seen all table full that mean it's just worth to go there. The fresh food same taste you get here. Fast service all staff and owner are cooperative. Restroom clean. Parking available at door step.
I specifically like brain masala and khima kaleji but almost all nonveg item they have their own Panjabi authentic style and typical taste. I just love to be here when I really hungry. Must visit it.
One of the oldest restaurant in Ahmedabad. This restaurant serves best punjabi food. No doubt it serves best non veg food bit equally their vegetarian food is next level. Do try khada masala sabzi it’s their USP. A must try for punjabi & non veg lovers.
Food is very nice and testy🥲💞🩵💛
Service is best 👌
Tried their chicken tikka and chicken biryani it tasted good
nostalgic place… same quality food since decades… silent… satisfying experience.
when we think of Delicious & Quality Food at Reasonable price 365 Days. Really Good place to visit once for sure & suggest any stranger or known ones !
Has been our go to place for authentic punjabi cuisine. Hospitality is great and family like. Place has rustic old punjabi dhaba feels.
Have been trying this place for authentic Punjabi food both Veg n Non veg and it's excellent ,tasty less spicy .
Recommend to all Punjabi food lovers to try this place and enjoy it's good.
One of the best non veg restaurant in this area. Service is excellent, food is exceptionally great. This place has been here for ages and i have never seen their quality deteriorate.(unlike other restaurants). I recommend this place highly
If you're a non vegetarian lover I would definitely recommend to visit. The food was awesome but a bit expensive so I needed more cash than usual but I love it
One of my favourite restaurants in the city for non-veg food. Nostalgic ambience. The chicken fried rice is out of this world.
