I love it...., so tasty n delicious.. increase your quantity...overall very good...keep it up!!!!!!!
Panjab malva ki dal makhani ka test best hai. Par pure veg. Ke liya khana khane me thoda problem rahega but over all test is best... it's all about test
If you like typical dhaba food this one is for you.
I think it's old more than 2 to 3 decades
Previously it was famous for Punjabi food
Now struggling to maintain name and fame.
Needs renovation and some new creation
Must try their Khir.. Its mind blowing
Wishing good luck
Best ever Dal Makhni in Ahmedabad, been going to this place for last 15 years just to have the Dal Makhni. The old place had khatiya in the front where you can sit and eat, now they only serve on tables.
Very very very good food... I always order dal makhani and roti test was awesome every time same test awesome... Restaurant response was also good... Food delivery on time... I know this is non-vegetarian restaurant but I love veg food in this restaurant...
The taste of the food is really nice it's a proper dabha and with essence of proper Punjabi food but crowd here is not good for family outings a good place for students looking for tasty non-vegetarian food in the area
good but should be with more pieces ,if small then would be great to enjoy
First place I found in last three years of living in Gujarat where I got North Indian style dal makhani. Good in taste and timely service. Good services.
I love this place specially Dal makhani n Kheer affordable prices they serve non. Veg too will try next time desi style chicken mutton curry
The Food was Absolutely Wonderful , from Preparation to Presentation! You Will Surely Get the Original Flavours of Punjab! Specially for Non Vegetarian Lovers I would Highly Recommend. The Best Part is it’s Reasonably priced. True Value for Money!! Thumbs Up!!!
its famous for nonveg food.
we tried egg items. and that was grt in taste .they serve egg items with tandoor roti. and we love it.
its also famous for kali daal ( dal makhani)
A place I have visited after more than 4 yrs . Still the ambience was very much same but the food remains good as it was then.
Only concern I feel about this place is hygiene and apart from this rest is good.
Just right beside the highway, it's the ideal spot to have non veg. Humble food, Humble price.
I somehow love the ambience, it's just too real :)

There is something about few eating joints that you feel connected. Not always you have penchant of how great qualities adhered by elite restaurants. And then when you go to dhaba restaurant you certainly look for some magic food with some special flavour of rooted to culture and tradition.
I have same nostalgic connection with this dhaba. I have been here hundreds of time as we friends used to be night crawlers few years back. And 90 % of time I had ordered one dish - dal makhni and jeera rice and not to forget taking away kheer for my wife.
Best ever dal makhni you can have around Ahmedabad. Only Bikanerwala near naherunagar have some match for dal makhni. So if you are lover of dal makhni with aroma that come from overnight cooked dal and great tadka then this place is must. Enjoy noice making truck on road side. Yes sometime you need to enjoy that too rather than seating in AC posh eat joint.
I have tried shahi paneer and butter chicken few time but it's not special or something you crave for. Go for dal makhni and jeera rice rather than have it with roti.
I have been hearing about this place for years now but never visited considering the ambience. A more than ordinary dhaba, punjab malwa is usually the last resort of a group of men in the search of food late in the night. This time though, we decided to give it a try and i am glad we did. Expect the bare essentials that you need to serve the guests and you will not be dissapointed at all. We ordered a mutton roshan josh, mutton mughlain mix vegetable and butter rotis. The service is quick and the just out of the tandoor rotis were the best thing that one can have with a meal. The mutton dishes were good with both the gravies well.made, spicy and full of flavours. The mix vegetable was a shiner. A great dish to order. All of this for less than Rs. 500 makes this place a good choice for me for the end of the month cash crunch days. They have a special kheer on the menu too which i would like to try on the ncext visit. Hope that happens soon too.
P.s. - Visit this place only if a good meal is on your mind and the ambience does not really matter.
i have no words for this place.. simply awsme.. proper desi pinjabi dhaba. NH8 ki yaad aa jaegiii.. mirthal ki rd no 4 ki kheer ki yaad aa jaegi..
This is not a well managed dhaba.. staff were pathetic but but i dont mind if test of a food is good.. so i want to tell you if you come here only order Kali Daal and lachchha paratha.. because this is their speciality.. dont order anything else becoz other items are not so good.. but kali daal i have never tested better than here.. awesome 5 out of five. in Ahmedabad best.. so go for it.. value for money..
After 4 or 5 years I have visit but still same .....nothing change.....I love Kali dal, rice and roti same taste I think best Kali dal in Ahmedabad....
Meal with Rohit R Khanna Ayush Bahukhandi Kunal Bukyalkar Panna Bhalla Gautam Patel Mohit Khanna
This is almost a 40 year old restaurant or even more. Located on SG Highway, it's on the left next to the petrol pump, just at the beginning of the gota flyover.
Ordered tawa chicken, Daal fry, tawa mutton, egg curry, lachha parathas, rotis, kaali daal.
The food is very reasonably priced, it has been this way since the beginning.
It was earlier an open sitting with khaats/chaarpai/Manji which had wooden planks on them in the center, that was so good.
It's changed now with chairs and tables. The food has not changed much, pretty consistent, nice curries and good lachha parathas, a different and pleasing taste as compared to your regular restaurants. It's open from 11am to 1am.
Been here many times, this particular dhaba is where I go only and only for Dal Makhani.
The combination of Dal Makhani with Lachha Paratha is way too awesome. I never had this good dal makhani ever in Ahmedabad.
Caution:
1. Go only if you can eat veg where non veg is also served.
2. Apart from Dal Makhani, my experience for Paneer was very very pathetic. Please do not go for anything other than Dal Makhani.
Have been here for the first time with Sarthak Arora as there was no place to go at midninght, from that time I'm fond of the Dal Makhani at Malwa.
Edit:
Go only if you can compromise on below parts, for having delicious food-
1. No ambience
2. Place is far from Ahmedabad
3. Dhaba food
Went with a friend, being hardcore non-veg lover we found Punjab Malva value for Money. If you do not want to show off and don't go to restaurants for their ambiance only than you must Visit Punjab Malva.
We ordered Boneless butter chicken and Chicken Biryani with Lachha Paratha and Plain Rotis. Butter chicken and Biryani was really awesome, we asked him to make it spicy which we don't get in many (so called hi-fi restaurants) restaurants.
If you frequently eat non-veg food and don't want to spend much on ambiance of restaurants, go for Punjab Malva.
Delicious food in economical price. At this price, don't expect star ambiance. There is always an option of takeaway. Prompt service as always !
Things you must try over here :
- Dal Makhni
- Laccha Paratha
- Saahi Korma (If you have a sweet tooth)
- Kheer
Went with vegetarian friends, ordered dal makhani, dum aaloo, sev tamatar and paneer butter masala. All of them were delicious but as all mentioned previously Dal Makhani is must ordering dish. Soon will be back to taste non veg. Part of the menu.
Wow surprised to visit this Punjabi dhaba in Ahmedabad. It's a hidden destination. The daal makhni is superb. Try the tawa chicken. Mind blowing. The place has open seating arrangements like a dhaba on the highway. Open 24 hours. Service is super fast and good. It's very cheap though a little outskirt from the city. Worth a try for foodies who can go an extra mile to try actual dhaba taste.
Omg....omg....superb dhaba food......
Today I stpd in and ordrd and anda curry...just awesome .......their signature dish is dal mukhni but I could not even complete half dish of and a curry....so guys do come here in group....one point I noticed that they serve whole wheat tandoori roti....in and all totally Punjabi dhaba food and ambience......will definitely visit soon for their deal makhni.........must visit place for foodies.
Amazing food. Ambience not good but perfect for take away. Though place looks old no issues even to go with family. Place open 24 X 7 for 365 days.
Best place to eat Punjabi food . Dal makhani is best dish to try . Soft buttery roti is such yummy. It is dhaba and rest place for truck driver and cleaners. Take away is always advisable. But when you want to try "dal makkhani " don't forget to check-in Punjab malva.
Had been to this place after a period of 4 years..even though the ambience remains the same the food taste was better than ever..chucjen fry, dahi chicken and tawa mutton are a must try here.. Even though the names appear common these specialities taste different here and that too if you visit thus place along with your old time buddies at 12 midnight.. This time also had a chance to meet the original sardar owner of this place.this guy even in his 70 ies looked more enthusiastic than anyone else there.. If you have happen to go ahmedabad this is must visit place with your friends..
Purely for those..who can can eat at dhabas.
Decent food..not spicy. Ate fried chicken, mughlai chicken n chicken biryani. Punjabi style twa biryani was good. but mughlai chicken was ok, less spicy. Lots of scope for improvement, but after all its target market is truck drivers or local travelers, so cant actually comment much.
Best taste in nonveg category, service is on time and it has a clean & hygenic atmosphere. We ate tandoori, chicken gravy , chicken biryani and everything item was delicious. The bill of 3 person was around 800rs,which is in budget in Ahmedabad.
Must try.

#DalMakahni
#BaiganMasala
#ButterRoti

#Papad
The price is so minimal.
We have paid 600 Rs /- .
Dont miss the Dal makhani here.
Fresh and delicious food but only ambience needs improvement to attract all customer who are peculiar about the ambience .
Exact Location 📍:
Near Bhagwat Petrol pump ,
Before Gota Flyover, in the lane of The two Kathiyawadi Restaurant . ( Varudi khodiyar and other )
SG Hwy, Ahmedabad,
The food they serve here is authentic and delicious. We mostly visit here for egg dishes. The staff is also helpful. Only downside is the ambiance (my last visit was before corona). Punjab malwa is always on my top priority when I visit to India. ❤️
Punjab malwa is the quintessential highway dhaba.
I really like the dal makhni and aloo gobi here.
Most dishes are priced 100-200 and are pretty tasty. The non veg is pretty decent too and they’re open late.
The food is excellent. Especially their daal makhani

Flavorful Journey to North India's Culinary Heritage
Located on a SG Highway, Near Bhagwat Petrol Pump, Punjab Malva Restaurant stands out with its rustic charm and inviting ambiance. As a fan of North Indian cuisine, I couldn't resist the allure of this Dhaba-style eatery, promising authentic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes at budget-friendly prices.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the welcoming aroma of spices and the lively chatter of diners.
As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see an extensive selection of plant-based dishes on the menu. The restaurant lived up to its reputation of serving delicious vegetarian food. The dal makhani, a staple of North Indian cuisine, was a delightful blend of creamy lentils and subtle spices that melted in my mouth. Accompanied by perfectly cooked basmati rice and soft, buttery naan, it was a truly satisfying meal.
For my non-vegetarian friends, the restaurant didn't disappoint either. The mutton curry, rich in flavors and tenderly cooked, received high praises from my companions. The succulent chicken tikka and flavorful fish curry showcased the expertise of the chefs in crafting authentic North Indian non-vegetarian delicacies.
One of the standout dishes at Punjab Malva was the mouthwatering paneer tikka. The paneer was marinated to perfection, infused with aromatic spices, and grilled to a delightful smoky flavor. This dish alone was enough to convert even the most staunch meat-lover into a paneer enthusiast.
The restaurant also boasted an impressive range of Indian bread, including a variety of naans and parathas. The stuffed parathas, with their generous fillings of spiced potatoes and cottage cheese, were a highlight of the meal. The flaky texture and delectable taste left me craving for more.
The prices at Punjab Malva were surprisingly budget-friendly, especially considering the quality and quantity of the dishes served. This made it an excellent option for anyone seeking to indulge in delicious North Indian cuisine without breaking the bank.
The overall dining experience at Punjab Malva was enhanced by the lively atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant's traditional setting and authentic flavors brought a sense of nostalgia for those who had visited Punjab or experienced the charm of Dhabas during their travels.
However, it's important to note that due to the restaurant's popularity, it can get quite crowded during peak hours, leading to slightly longer wait times. Nevertheless, the savory, budget-friendly delights served at Punjab Malva more than made up for any minor inconveniences.
In conclusion, Punjab Malva Restaurant is a hidden gem for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians seeking to savor the flavors of North Indian cuisine. With its inviting ambiance, delightful array of dishes, and affordable prices, the restaurant offers a truly authentic culinary journey to the heart of Punjab. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to the city, Punjab Malva is a must-visit destination for those looking to indulge in cheap and delicious North Indian fare.
Nice foods, me and my friend dinner every months in panjab malwa they are serve delicious and pocket friendly food.
Mutton preparations are excellent, though the biriyani is not the Hyderabadi style, but overall food is good and quite affordable.
Good food in typical dhaba ambience . Must try their da makhani . They are famous for their kheer as well
Desi dhaba of sardarji good and testy food chicken items, egg 🥚 items available here at reasonable price
A very old dhaba located on the highway. The place has good seating and service. I have been to this dhaba tonnes of times and have had many of their non-vegetarian cuisines. They have all been delicious. I plan to return and would recommend it to others.
Great food, place might look old and dull bit food and service is good.
For Vegetarians Dal makhni & Kheer are must try.
For Non Veg chicken mughlai and dahi chicken are a good choice.
Overall experience, food and paa ji 👳♂️is good 👍
Warm old Sardarji and his son are the life of this Dhaba that is open 24 hours.
We prefer eating the Dal Makhni and Paneer Bhurji here anyway over our 5 star eat outs. The speed at which they serve is unbeatable. Kids love it too!
But yes a roadside Dhaba is a Roadside Dhaba so keep your expectations low in terms of hygiene and ambience and just enjoy the food which overshadows everything else!
Best food that I have had in Ahmedabad.. better than 5 star hotels!
If you love to have some tasty food. Visit Punjab Malwa. It is good in terms of taste. An old school restaurant and an upgraded version of Dhaba is where I would be placing Punjab Malwa.
Awesome food...
That Punjabi dish cooked by them is damn delicious...
Also the service is very nice.
After ordering the within 7 minutes order will be on your table.
They also provide parcel facility (Take away) is available.
