We wanted to try something south indian for lunch on our trip and this restaurant happened to be in front of our hotel. We ordered Dosa, Idli, Vada but what turned to be tastiest was Dozza. It's a pizza on the base of Dosa. A must try. Good place!

Very good tasty south indian food that saved me for a year. Good quality chutneys but quantities of dishes are a bit disappointing. I'd recommend to keep track of breakfast offers they put up now and then- really worth the money. But always had a bad experience with the inefficient and insufficient waiters. Nevertheless, cant get yummy south indian food for their price easily inside Ahmedabad.

One of the few places in Ahmedabad where you would find and get to taste good, South Indian food. The dosas here are good and do remind you of down south. Try any of them and I'm sure you'd be happy.
Also, give the Neer Dosa a try. It is a sweet dosa prepared with grated coconut and rich with ghee. It is delicious and not very heavy on the stomach. It serves as the right way to end your south Indian meal.

One of the best if not the best cafe for South Indian food..Have been there for quite sometime now and they always seems to amaze me. There sambhar is way too good aling with there tomato chutney. There breakfast deal is quite reasonable and delicious. Other food then South Indian is also quite tasty. I recommend anyone who wants delcious dosa for breakfast to go there.

This is a small cafe like place on CG road at Ahmedabad. It is an authentic South Indian place. As it describes, it is a place where you can get the food in the fastest time. I went with my friend and ordered Jain Cheese Masala dosa. It was an awesome dosa and we were literally yearning for south Indian food as we didn't find any around. Additionally, both of us are anti potato as my friend is jain and I hate it.
The price was little on the higher end. The dosa costed us 190 which is expensive compared to what a normal person would usually spend for South Indian. We both just had this one but were reasonably filled with it. It can easily fill the stomach of a single person.
Overall, this is the place to be if you want really good south Indian, you can spend 150-200 for it, and are looking for a place where food is served with a smile in a jiffy. The ambiance is like a typical cafe but don't think of sitting for long.
P.S. - It has unlimited dosas at around rs 200 excluding GST and for any item, it gives unlimited chutney, and sambhar. And It has Neer dosa too. :D
Cafe Udupi Ruchi has been a prominent restaurant when it comes to authentic South Indian cuisine in Ahmedabad. Each and everything is excellent in taste. Last time when i went here i ordered Spl ghee paruppu podi dosa, cheese masala dosa, neer dosa and paneer chilly dry. Everything was as delicious we expected. Neer dosa was served with something sweet coconut jaggery and was really awesome and unique in taste. Paneer chilly was too good. Cheese masala and Spl ghee paruppu podi masala dosa was best ever dosa i had in my life.Β

This place is located just on the corner of municipal market , serving south Indian dishes and some Chinese ones.
Ambience is good with simple red and white theme. Walls with pics of various dishes.
Menu covers wide range of south Indian dishes apart from idli/dosa/uttapa. Nice to see traditional south Indian meal , pongal , and bisibele on the menu.
We ordered Udupi Butter masala dosa , onion rava masala and filter coffee. Everything very well prepared and with traditional taste. Sambar - chutneys all good with fresh taste.

While ordering some south Indian food the boy who was taking order (captain) suggested for cheese masala dosa and special ghee marupu podi masala dosa and it was so delicious and fresh food. Sambar was so yummy and chutnis were awesome.!

Eating South Indian food at udipi was a pleasant experience. Nice compact place with courteous staff and quick service. Most important is the food which is great taste and as fresh as you can get.
You get Jain and Swaminarayan (no onion no garlic) options. The idli, dosa, uttapam are very tasty and fortunately not so spicy. Sambhar is awesome and unlimited π
Irani chai is a must. βοΈ one of the best tea I have had.
Prices are reasonable too. Great for a high tea or good breakfast.
Very courteous staff. We ordered only one south Indian dish i.e rawa masala dosa and rest was almond coriander soup(which tasted sweetish and quantity was less, can be avoided), paneer fried rice which was scrumptious and paneer chilly which was fresh and nice. Given that we went on a monday evening and sat when there was no one else in the whole restaurant was a bit awkward but the staff made us feel very comfortable and asked us about the quality of food and any more feedback for them to work upon. Will definitely go once again.
Just a suggestion to the management, you can remove the Below Raju Japan hoarding fonts from the main lights above, you are a brand force on your own :)

Gave 0.5 rating less only coz waiter was little eager to remove the plates while we were talking. Then realised that waiter was new and was learning. Overall experience excellent.. will definitely visit again..

A real taste of the south.
I've visited many dosa restaurants but this is quite unique and different than all other dosa restaurants in town. They bring real south taste and that is what their USP. This place is mostly crowded due to location. Try out famous south items here and not just dosa, you will like it for sure. They have limited seating arrangments & Ambience is quite OK but food quality and service are good. The cost for two people is little on the higher side, however, must visit for all south food lovers.

So finally visited this place on last Sunday with family. We were reached around 7:30pm & get the table without waiting. Simple interior ( white & red theme) and neat & clean place. Bright lights, comfortable seating arrangements & active staff. Service is too good. Pocket friendly place.

Just stunning & delicious. One of the best dhosa & must try here. Sambhar was little on sweet side but as a Gujarati I like it. Coconut chutney was on blend side. Tomato chutney & other one chutney was too good.

I tried this first time. It was a combination of rice, roasted chana dal, oil,crushed black pepper, jeera,some spicy powder ( may be rasam powder), urad dal, peanuts & for sour feeling they add something but couldn't recognise. Overall it was on a slightly spicy side & soured.

A friend took us to lunch at this restaurant because its his favorite South Indian food place in entire Ahmedabad. And it was proved right. We ordered the Butter Masala Dosa which was lip-smacking but it was the Special Ghee Parrupu Podi Masala Dosa that was the star of the meal. It was very fragrant with Ghee and the amount of masala and spices were just right. Also it was nice and crispy and did not get soggy at all. They have also started a new chaat section and so we ordered a Sev-Puri which was perfect too. Thanks guys. Please try to maintain this quality because most restaurants change after they become famous.
I must add to my review. I tried their breakfast platter and it is great. Loved the Upma, Pongal and Kesari bhaath. The idli and dosa were like always, perfect !!! Thanks for the great service and being consistent in taste.

Starting with ambience it was very simple and nothing creative or eye catching,a small little place but the main thing is food and which turn out pretty good..we have orderd Idli sambhar, cheese rava masala dosa, Special Gheee parrupu podi masala and masala dosa
Ghee paruppu podi masala was one of the amazing dosa with right amount of masala in it (and their special powder they have sprinkle in dosa)...idli was very soft and yummy...rava masala was also nice ...
Sambhar was bit disappointing me because there were some kind of light sweetness into it...i didnt like sambhar that much..chutneys were good! Initially there was problem of staff for order taking but we just ignored it...overall a satisfying experience and want to try more dishes!

Udupi Ruchi serves amazing south indian dishes. We had masala uttapam, fried mini idli, vada sambhar, veg cutlet, rawa onion plain dosa, bisibele bhaht. I loved every dish here. They have different taste of sambhar which I liked the most. Their chutneys were very fresh and tasty.

So I had some work at Ahemdabad airport last week. Went trolling around in the city post work wanting to taste some good food. Landed up at Indu Ben and then to this small cozy place. Not sure what's in store for a Punjabi here, I asked the staff guys for their recommendation. To my surprise, they were just too helpful and nice! I ordered some special ghee something something masala dosa. Oh my! It was DELICIOUS. Not just this, while i was eating the guys got me extra sambhar and extra chutney as soon as they saw low quantity on my plate without me asking. I had some filter coffee and it was classic South Indian kind. I wanted to take something home and these guys were honest enough to tell me that it will probably be stale by the time I reach home. Good food. Great people. Pretty smiles. I like!

The name lured me and put me in such an unlikely place. Though it has a very good breakfast deal to grab in the morning, otherwise its not that worth. Batter for dosa and Idli is not a big a deal what adds to the taste is the sambhar & chutney which is the very place they fell. Just a few Metres ahead @idli9 is way better. Still, Pongal is shot that one can try and still not feel dafaq. Not so good, but Bad.

Heard from a cousin that there is a new place near his hostel which serves nice breakfast and authentic south Indian.
So i went here to experience thwir food...
To my surprise it was fully crowded even at 10.50 AM. I got my seat after waiting of some time.
We ordered one combo (in promo offer 95 rs breakfast was served at 20 rs only), one mix uttapam and irani chai.
On my second visit today. We ordered ghee dosa, kesari bath and fried Idli.
To review combo breakfast...it was really delicious and one must have it if he is passing by this place and wants to enjoy south indian food...
It comes with masala dosa, pongal, upma, idli and kesari bath.
Mix uttapam was good but i didnt like it much being too many onions in it.
Ghee dosa...i told them to make it crispy but they didnt...though taste was good...but compared to other places it was not that good.
Kesari bath... 1st time when I tried it in breakfast it was really very good...but today it was not that soft as it was in 1st visit...
Fried idli...my friend ordered fried idli thinking it to be something else...and we got something which was crisping fried...though he didnt like it...by i liked it...only thing was...it didnt come with sambhar and white chutney...anyways..we cud have got had we asked for it...
