It was Gujarati new year day & we( me & my fiancee) were out for food. It was already late & we were searching for some good veg food. We were passing by relief road & decided to try at Sagar ( as it was still open at 11.30 pm).
We ordered paneer masala & Tandoori roti. I would say that I had one of the best food in Ahmedabad at Sagar that night. Subji was excellent in both quality & quantity. Amazing taste & paneer was very fresh. Tandoori roti were the best I had in my life. Not only the taste & properly cooked but also the size. It was big...!! I had this big rotis in Delhi & nowhere else. You will not find this big yet so amazingly prepared tandoori roti anywhere else in Ahmedabad.
More than 5 stars to Sagar Restaurant.
Next time I would try non veg food.
Good place in the interiors of the city. Great place to go for a breakfast even great for dinners taste quite well must try biryani other starters and main course are also mouthwatering.
I just dined at this place..Guys its a nice place to dine with family...good ambience..good hygeine..good quality...good quantity and good taste..
But dont get cheated by the menu price given here..its an old one..two persons can dine here @ 700rs..
We ordered Butter chicken with Tandoori Roti and Half biriyani which was of good quantity worth Rs. 100.
Overall the food was good. At last we had custard which was the best!

My brother who showed me this place and I am really thankful to him. They have two seatings if you want AC or with family then you can go upwards.
There isn't anything special about the interior but when it comes to food they will win your heart. We ordered chicken gravy and chicken fried rice both were good.
After a few weeks, I and my friend wanted to go for non-veg food so we came back to this place. I didn't remember what I ordered last time so we ordered Chicken tikka & masala papad for the starter. In the main course, we ordered the Sagar Special along with Buttermilk.
We got the starters and were already pleased by it but the main item is still to come. Finally, the main dish "Sagar Special" was served and by looking itself I was super excited to try as it comes with two gravy red and green. We had the first bite and man I can't define the taste in words. Both gravies were good in the taste but I liked the green one more. The chicken was properly cooked and the taste was outstanding. Even though I wasn't expecting much their buttermilk also amazed me. We both were totally satisfied by the taste and quantity of the items and couldn't ask for more.
After this, I took many of my friend who wanted to try the chicken and they all are thanking me till date. If you are visiting this place I highly recommend to try Sagar Special and you can thank me later.
At last, I would say when there is a chicken in mind my heart says, "Sagar". I drive almost 20 km from my home in heavy traffic to reach there but believe me its worth it. Hats off 👌💕🍗

One of the best hotels for the people who are living in that area and wants a takeaway!! I many times prefer to have a takeaway lunch from this restaurant!! Ambience is good!!

Sagar Restaurant is situated very near to Ahmedabad Junction Railway station. It is on ahmedabad's most busy road and that is relief road. Sagar restaurant is very good place to eat if you are non-vegetarian. The quality of food they offer is very nice. How real muslim tradition is, about non-veg food, you will come to know here. I think all of the staff including chef are muslim brothers and that's why the yummy & tasty food they cook. They know very well how to cook non-veg food comparatively to others. I love this restaurant most. And another reason, why you should go here is that Sagar restaurant is budget-constraint . You can have a quality & quantity food in average budget. The menu is quite low-cost comparatively to other restaurant. Another main thing is that it is very near to railway station at walking distance. But if you are coming with your own vehicle, then you may face the problem of parking. Because Sagar restaurant is located at relief road, this problem is obvious. But I'm sure you will enjoy here. Come and see yourself, if you are a food lover.
The quantity's fine. Usually enough for an average man's hunger. The taste is not consistent, had eaten there quite a few times, sometimes they serve cold food. Service is okay for a budget-friendly resturant like this.

Sagar is a restaurant attached to Sagar hotel by the same owners, at a walkable distance from Kalupur station.
It is a multi cuisine restaurant serving South Indian, North Indian and Chinese cuisines. Its USPs are its quality of food, its quantity of food and its prices.
I called for a Prawns Triple Schezwan Fried rice. They do not have this listed on their menu card, but they agreed to my wish. I thought that it would be sufficient for one sitting. Little did I know that I was wrong.
When the fare was being brought to me, my heart sank. I knew beforehand that their portions are generous. But this mountain of a platterful made my eyes go agog.
This was a huge presentation of fried rice, nicely spiced up in Schezwan sauce. With some grains of white rice sprinkled above. And with some strands of fried noodles buried inside. And having generous number of prawns. And all this topped with plain omelette and finely chopped up spring onion greens. Ummm.
This was accompanied with a bowlful of gravy prawns. These were jumbo sized prawns, about five or so in deep orange thick gravy. Perfect combination.
I also called for a fresh lime soda sweet. I asked for the ingredients to be brought to me separately, and expressed desire of customising it myself. They obliged.
Needless to say, I couldn't finish the fare in three sittings, let alone one.
The verdict: The entire food cost me about INR 250. No service charges, VAT, service tax or the rest of nonsense. If they open up a branch in Bombay maintaining the same prices and standards, they would cause a riot.

Food was very much better then I expected bcoz looking at the restaurant from the outer part doesn't give you such impression. Only drawback that was the conjusted & less comfortable tables & seating area. I would prefer packing the food then to have at d restaurant.
