I had try Samosa yesterday it was awesome and hygienic food a very old and famous restaurant into the old city and it was very popular since my grandfather was teenager he had told me to try this at least once.😊

This is one of the best place for majum. Literally loved the place. So cosy and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious and the people are very friendly. The place also serves great sweets along with farsan.
Eat majum...thats the best best best thing you van ever eat in this old city. + Any random thing at this place is mouth watering. And the sweets are just beautiful.
Best place to eat puri-shak in Ahmedabad. I love the way they make aloo sabji. But they need to improve in chana masala a lot. Because at the price half than them you can get better chana masala anywhere.

Time effects all but this place has been the same. This place situated in the busy streets of rewadi bazaar. This restaurant is very old since time of my grandfather and they also liked to went here to eat puri Shak and majoon. It's become tradition in our family that if we are going to Azad then our order will be puri Shak and majoon.
Puri Shak - Puri Shak might look full of oil but aroma of crispy puri with potato Shak is enough to enjoy this flavourful dish.
Magji Majoon - Majoon is a dry fruit and Mawa based sindhi sweet. It's too heavy and rich. Perfect dessert for winter. Azad Jake Majoon nahi khaya to kuch nahi khaya!
Food is really good but if you are looking for ambience then don't even try because there is no such thing. I came here since my childhood and I observed that once a table is empty waiters will come, clean the table, refill jug and steel box which had onion, pickle, lemon slices and green chillies. The serving staff is more decent then you expect from a place such as this.
Eating here was a great experience!
Old is gold.this place has so many things to order like world best PURI shak,MAGJI majoon, Punjabi platter, rabadi, rasmalai, panner tikka masala, dal pakwan, dal fry,sindhi cuisine, dry fruits,namkins & all types of sweets. Visit once!!!!

Enjoyed lunch at Azad Zaverivad, relief road, Ahmedabad to enjoy its amateur (signature dishes) delicacies.

◆Puri bhaji: i don't requires a bite to choose my favorite dish. The aroma of hot crispy puri's with potato bhaji is enough to enjoy its flavour ful taste to satiate my appetite.
◆Puri sev tomata nu shak: An incredibly humble Gujarati accompaniment, Sev Tamatar Ki Sabji is made using juicy tomatoes, desi masalas and served with heaps of besan sev. Loved eating it.
◆Dahi wada: its all time favorite food which was so delicious and mouthwatering. Yum yum yum.
◆Paneer paratha: The most delicious of all stuffed paneer parathas for a hungry time are just fulfilling meal to have accompanied with dahi, onions, mirchi and pickle ...
◆Gulab jamun: extremely perfect sweet to satiate your sweet tooth. It has soft and spongy texture just melts in mouth..
◆Majoon: A sindhi luxury sweet seemed to be so tempting and irresistible. A hearty wintery sweet. Loved eating it.
◆Chhas: perfectly Superb. No introduction requires. Photo missing.

Amazing, delicious and hygienic food. Would like to go again and again. Yesterday I visited there and had Puri Sabji, Samosa and Majum. It was awesome food.
The moment I here it's name straight I imagine about it's super delicious Kala Jam my dad use to bring for many years. It's an old name for some basic Indian Sweets. I had tried Gulab Jamun, Kala Jam, Laddu, Chole Puri, kachori and what not. Excellent food served by them.

Time effects all but this place has been the same. One of the oldest places in Ahmedabad selling sweets and also has a restaurant attached. My pick is the Poori and Sabji. For the first time I heard about it I was like restaurant mein poori kon khata hai but when I had it I was like I never has any better.
I been the restaurant few times and also many time I take away parcel as well.

This restaurant is very old since time of my grandfather and they also liked to went here to eat Puri Shak.
One day stay in Ahmedabad, searched for some restaurant nearby, found this, read reviews visited immediately. Nice place to have some awesome food. Tried samosas then ordered for Punjabi thali. Great food.

Very good place to eat Sindhi food. Some of my favourites are Dal Pakwan and Rabdi. We go to this restaurant since last 15 years. Restaurant staff is polite.

One of the best and old sweet shop of ahmedabad. Majun/Majum is the specialty and to be honest one dish of majun is enough. Its too heavy and rich and sweet. Perfect in Winter.
Thier puri shaak and other snakes are also good. Malai Barfi and other sweets are best in Quality.
When i am in city area i prefer Azad for small meal.
Not the typical fancy place. You will have to share the table with strangers. They have a very tiny place. But its totally worth the food. There is a considerable good menu. No fancy items too. Extremely reasonable prices. We ordered the gujarati thali, the punjabi thali, the famous puri shak and majum. Excellent quality and great taste. Hot piping food. Very soft, fluffy and big puris. The thalis tasted individually just like it should be. They serve the kharek-sing wali daal with gujarati thali and it is reaally good.
You get side items like onions, lemon wedges, spicy fried chili and pickle.
I have become a fan of their majum.
What i loved about this place is that they have maintained the same taste since inception. But a great experience.

One of the age old and most reknowned places of Ahmedabad. The place is largely famous for its Puri Bhaji. Situated in the busy old city there is nothing to offer on Ambience front, but the food will surely not let you down. Puri bhaji might look full of Oil, but you are surely tempted to miss out on your diet for sure. They also offer a good takeaway arrangement for people not willing to have inhouse. Priced reasonably at Rs.60, one plate is enough for one person.
Excellent food at a very small place. clean and hygiene place. Just do the do and move out. Don't be surprised if someone shares your table because that's rule number one to eat at Azad.
I've been here numerous times, albeit, just for the daal pakwaan. I've never really eaten anything else here. But it's the only thing I love here, and I'm not sure if there are other better places serving this dish, but I love it here...
There's no such thing as ambience, so don't even try looking. The serving staff is more decent than I expect from a place such as this.
Visited many times, Sindhi dal Pakwan is a speciality here, get taste full puri shak, very famous amongst sindhi's for sweets, visit here for a different dining experience

Located in a lane off Relief Road. Beware there is a newer "Azad Sweets" before the original one. Had Puri-Shak, quite good. Pic attached. Meals can be packed (to take on the train for e.g.).
Second visit Dec 2019. Had Aloo Methi, Very good, well cooked and tasty. If you are in Ahmedabad and are tired of khaman, dokhla, gujarati thali etx try this place. Pic attached.
Third visit Jan 2020, yes I kind of like this place. Had Undhiyu & puri. Quite good, but different from the undhiyu available in Surat. Pic attached.
Fourth visit Mar 2020. Had Aloo Bhindi Masala. V good. Bhindi and Aloo were cooked just right, aloo was buttery soft, bhindi was not over cooked. Masala was good, to my taste, not too punjent. Had Shahi Falooda, did not care too much for it. Prefer regular falooda. This one had too much of chopped fruit and the quality of ice cream was not too good. Pics attached as usual. This restaurant is a worth a visit if you are in Ahmedabad.

I was recommended to try the sweets at Azad on my Ahmedabad trip this time. Got myself three boxes packed!
The lady who seemed to be the owner was extremely polite and literally made me taste all the sweets that I wanted to try and also answered in detail, with great excitement, any of the questions asked to her. Lovely service, great taste! Interestingly, I bought few of the sweets I am already aware of and have been consuming them for a really long time, but the same ones tasted refreshingly better at Azad.

But the store location in Kalupur, off Relief Road, is in a very narrow lane. Would recommend going there in day time, especially if travelling alone.

I took sev tamatar and chapati from here. The food was delicious and the behaviour of the staff was very nice and friendly. The service was fast. I will get my food everytime from here only whenever I will be near Ahmedabad Railway station in future.
Great place for poori bhaji. The poori has very less oil - something difficult to find in Ahmedabad. Only problem is the location and the restaurant is itself quite cramped. Cleanliness can be taken up a notch. Overall : Good
