Hunger Hop Food Fiesta wishes him all the very best for this wonderful Connection of palates of Eastern Bengal, close to Bangladesh being served right here in Ahmedabad. Let the city relish in all his wonderful delicacies and Say " Yaay Kolkata Konnection"
The dishes we had
1. Veg Seekh Kabab Roll : A tastefully done covering of a soft lachcha paratha with a filling which was tasty, well cooked and perfect to the core
2. Chicken Awadhi Kabab Roll : A fine blend of profusely well cooked chicken with a mix of spices and tasty filling in a lacha paratha
3. Veg Seekh Kabab : A lovely spicy palate with well done kebabs and served with onions and beautiful dip
4. Aloo Dum with Biryani : A balanced well cooked aloo dum with finely done gravy breaking the tradition of using small potatoes and doing it the authentic way it is served in eastern bengal with a biryani that was served with the best quality rice and a amazing aroma of the ghee with each grain being separate to relish and cooked to joy.
5. Chicken Kali Mirch : Very tenderly cooked and spice up to perfection. A dish for sure to relish by non veg lovers. This is surely a place to look forward to
6. Veg Mughlai Paratha : This is a dish Samir serves with the elan of a mughal monarch with a stuffing so fulfilling and perfect that each square piece of this square paratha appears like a puff in itself.
7. Non Veg Mughlai Paratha : A dish textured to perfection with each square piece of a square shaped paratha looking like the chess board with further smaller pieces giving it the entire effect of a game of chess in action
8. Egg Mutton Roll : A perfectly done roll with the perfect amalgamation of spices, fillers and taste in a soft luscious nice lacchcha paratha . kathi roll - mutton had perfect bengali taste rather than the mughlai mutton which is more famous in kolkata because nizams and badshah introduced this item to kolkata streets.
9. Mutton Chaap: Fine neatly cut pieces of the delicacy cooked to perfection with that exact blend of taste and spice. kathi roll - mutton had perfect bengali taste rather than the mughlai mutton which is more famous in kolkata because nizams and badshah introduced this item to kolkata streets.
10. Non Alcoholic Beer : A fruit punch with an exact beer like feel but the non alcoholic version giving a marginal satisfaction to the customer
11. Last but not the least , perhaps the first time in Ahmedabad
Mishti Doi : An exalted dessert of Kolkata served in a lovely kullad, blended to perfection giving that exact balance between sweetness, lusciousness and a taste which leaves you with an ahhh leaving you gasping for more of this yummy delicacy.
A nice startup which I am sure will gain momentum in the coming days and we hope to see this place as a major landmark of Ahmedabad soon
Signing off putting on the shoes like dish in which the dips were served and greeting Samir bhai like his salt and pepper greet each other as shown in the pictures attached herewith
Walkin into 2020 my foodie self was only inclined towards which places to visit in the beginning of the new decade.
And the first name in my list was
Kolkatta konnection
A long over due visit which I had promised to do last year, finally was checked off

Kolkata Konnection
When an extremely passionate Bengali decided to hop in in Ahmedabad and open a restaurant, this town just got blessed for all the undeniably good reasons. A super cozy, warm & ultra classy restaurant located at Bodakdev, is a perfect blend of cultural fusion subsumed in the interior, quite evidently working its charm! A natural brick wall, a begali window, Harley corner, & a Mumbai clubs inspired prototype finely accommodated in the restaurant is a catch on!

We were greeted by Sam (owner) and it was an absolute delight to converse with him one on one. I was blown away witnessing the knowledge & passion he possesses for food.
Since he was there, he helped us order the food and we were served
.
.
• Chicken kosha with chicken biryani - kosha is an age - old bengali way of cooking chicken/mutton which results in meat cooked in a thick & rich gravy, is dish cooked in bengali families. We ordered chicken kosha with chicken biryani.
These dishes combined together created a magic on my plate. Chicken was tender, juicey and so good that it fell off from the bone without having us putting any efforts. It blew my mind and a foodgasm took a troll over my mind & soul. I could not help but close my eyes in every bite.
If you are missing THIS, you are missing out experiencing foodie heaven on earth. It exists at Kolkata Konnection.
.
.
• chicken Seekh kabab roll - I have never had a roll better than this in my entire life. Hot Chicken kabab with eggs and veggies perfectly tucked-in in laccha paratha. Paratha perfectly layerd and crisp added a magic to the roll.
Highly recommended.
.
.
• Chicken Garlic Tandoor - chicken cooked to utmost perfection & a marinated is one charming dish! The good part, you can order the half portion to save some space in tummy. I absolutely love Indian style chicken and when it is this delicious, then you don't miss out on it whatsoever.
.
.
• deep fried fish - Sam recommended us trying freshly cooked Deep fried fish, I was astonished to see there was no single drop of oil on my plate. And it tasted brilliant with the kasundi (mustard sauce)
Mustard sauce normally has very dominating flavor. At KK I got to know the sauce is spiced with masala from kolkata and the difference was just right there. Super combo!
.
.
• masala coke - again a simple soft drink turned into a brilliant drink with kolkata masalas incorporated with coke. Simply WOW!
.
.
Yes, we (2 people) at ALL of that & licked our fingers cleaned.

It is easy for Me to say that Kolkata konnection is passion for food and brilliance of delicacy personified. The spices, food & taste is pure authentic essence of Kolkata brought to AHM.
If you happen to be there, do not miss out on meeting Sameer, he is an added charm at KK.
I can't wait to visit the place again and try other dishes in their menu.
I highly recommend KK for all the Meat lovers.
They've the veg. Section separated for vegetarians.

Go to Kolkata Konnection & thank me later!
One of the Amazing Food places i have visited so far. Had Tandoori Chicken which was classy! Achari Chicken Tikka Roll, which was one of the best roll i had in my life. 😋😍 Succulent chicken tikka pieces in achari flavour was mast! 🤩 Portion size can be increased though.
And lastly the Chicken Tikka Biryani took me to the heaven. Such nice aromatic flavours with authentic kolkata style potato in it! Just loved it. 😍
After a long time we went to a place where we enjoyed having Kolkata food, enjoy Bengali music and saw the video on TV. Nostalgic moments...
I have an opportunity to having their food during my business trip in Ahmedabad. I have visited their restaurant and repeatedly ordered their foods via Zomato. I am very much satisfied with the quality of their service and delicious foods ! I strongly recommend their Mutton Biriyani to every Bong Biriyani lover.
This place was on my radar for a quiet long time. Finally, visited this place. This is a Calcutta themed small cost restaurant with miniatures of tram and iconic yellow ambassador. The menu is a mix of Calcutta cuisine, mughlai and kebabs. I tried Alu Dum, egg biryani, veg biryani, mughlai parantha, veg roll, laccha parantha and of course the Mishti Doi. The biryani was classic Calcutta style, with the boiled potato inside. Alu Dum was also upto the mark in terms of species & flavours and close to authenticity. The quantity is sufficient for two persons for main course items and single serve in case of biryani if you are not ordering anything else. I really liked the rolls they offered which is easily available in street food stalls in Calcutta. The waiters are cute, friendly and from Bengal.
This place does not the traditional Bengali dishes like Alu bhaja and Posto but whatever Bengali they have in their is at its best. Jhalmuri was finished the time I went. I'll be visiting again for Jhalmuri.
Visited in May 19,
With bunch of Friends.
We Had Chicken roll and Dum Biriyani.
Taste was Authentic.

Good homely Bengali food. A tad bit expensive for the portion size. The mutton biryani and mutton kosa (special menu item) + steamed rice combo are both extremely tasty, with very well cooked tender mutton pieces. The appetizers are way too expensive for the portion size, especially the fish items like fish fingers. But nevertheless, a worthwhile place for both lovers of Bengali food as well as those willing to try this amazing cusine.
It’s one of the best place in Ahmedabad for Bengali food
The place have a unique touch of the environment that we see in the restaurant in Kolkata
Food is good and have variety in there menu.

So a very kool place for those who are in Ahmedabad and looking forward to get exposed to Bong food, yes this place can really get you the experience. Fantastic food, would say try their every dishes, not much crowded so no advance booking required but nice ambiance tasty food makes it an ideal hangout place..
We have been craving for kathi roll for long time. While scrolling in Zomato, we came across Kolkatta Konnection in Bodakdev. They have got good collection of Kolkatta delicacies especially in kathi rolls and non-veg. I loved the ambience of the restaurant, its very cozy and comfortable. Staff is very polite and decent. We have enjoyed the food and the restaurant has fulfilled the craving for good kathi roll. We will be visiting the restaurant again to try different food options. I will give the restaurant 4star. Hope u would also find it to be the same.
Kudos to KK
Excellent food and great ambiance..biryani and starters we're good..
Place is quite classy and creative..great place to have food..great experience overall

Amazing food I order almost everyday 👌🏼the khati roll was just so fresh dhuwiwidjbsjwkdjdjdkwkwndfosksnndckskbdfkcoskbekdcksnwndkcodksnddjx
Nice quaint place that serves kathi rolls n chops Calcutta style. Best option for Indian Non veg preparations in town. V tasty n fresh, not over spicy or oily. Though portions are not too big.
Interiors are ordinary with a touch of Kolkatta here n there
Service is good too n not too expensive.
Awesome food and superb friendly staff. Special thanks to owner Samir for going extra mile and getting our food delivered on a busy day. Our order had chicken, mutton and fish and everything excelled our expectations. Kudos!
Amazing food in a small quiet place with amazing music. Not too many people so not noisy at all. Service also really good with smiling staff. Loved it. Thank You Team Kolkata Konnection for a wonderful Sunday evening !!
Great Ambience. Ordered Chicken Biryani which was excellent. Although the staff looked a little low on product knowledge.
Rest must visit for biryani lovers
could have been less chewy chicken
delivery was very fast not even expected this ...it came before 10mits... the delivery guy was too good
It's a small little joint with a nice ambience and courteous staff. Being a Bengali restaurant the mughlai paratha and Kathi rolls are their specialities, the chicken Kali mirch roll was in fact really good, the
The chicken tikka was was pretty standard, your regular run of the mill preparation.
Second was the mutton tikka starter which was fairly small in size as compared to portions served at other restaurants.
Will try their mughlai paratha and biryani next
First thing that strikes is that its too damn well maintained and has a warm feel to it. The staffs are genuinely well behaved and very attending. The food was very tasty, though for the price the quantity can genuinely be increased. Yes the biryani taste is really close to "The Kolkata Taste". Overall its a must visit.

Takeaway review!
Ordered an egg roll and chicken roll. Service is good for takeaway customers too. They both were really good. Chicken roll was loaded with chicken and was never short of pieces. A really satisfying meal.
A special mention on the interiors. I wish I had dined there as their interiors were so quirky and perfect for a date! With so cool decor, this Kolkata Konnection is a must-go cafe for hangouts and romantic dates!
I owed this long pending review for the peppy yet perfect place to relish authentic Bengali and North Indian crusine. One of my favourite places for Chicken dishes in Ahm. The food was just so appealing to your taste buds specially Chicken Staters were perfectly cooked with right blend of succulent Flavours. The service was pampering and relatively quick. 👍🏼
My very long time craving for authentic Kolkata style kathi rolls in Ahmedabad ended here. It was worth hunting for rolls post my departure from Bangalore. It is one place you have ample amount of outlets to try different rolls. However Ahmedabad has only one but quite unique and authentic.
Outlet is very small compared to the other similar cafes however ambience is just wonderful. The moment you pitch in you will feel refreshing with ambience and music. On top of it they have some amazing sound tracks to make a perfect atmosphere.
A bit overpriced though however I managed it with Nearby coupons for getting some discount. Definitely worth a try for authentic rolls and Kolkata style biryani. Go for Egg roll, Chicken bhuna and Chicken Biryani!!
Taste is good. But quantity is very less
Visit only if you have a sense for food. If you have, this is THE place to be.
A small place with people ( Samir) with a Big heart and zeal to feed, you can feel a bit of Kolkata here ( if you have been to Kolkata, you can understand). Nice and Clean ambiente.
We. ordered , tanduri chicken, CH and Mutton Kathi roll, Mutton Muglai . Kathi rolls were awesome and similar to the one you get in Kol. However the Mutton Biriyani was clear winner. NO exaggeration, but it is one of the best in town. Probably the best Biriyani of Ahmedabad. It was well cooked, mutton was tender enough.
It was a delicious experience and of you happen to see Sam around, go by his recommendation.
Had very great experience, staff is so alert for everything u need , interior theme is intresting very accurate work , plus point is their neat and clean resturant, in my life rarely i have seen a perfect clean restaurant like this , food quality 100 % appreciate and food taste just an awesome , i just got so much impressed about resturant that they seriosuly take care about thier customers
This place has good Ambiance and good food. The price at this place is much like what is across Ahmedabad. The food is authentic Bengali food. All in all a good experience with family.
The only place to have authentic Bengali Mughlai Cuisine in Ahmedabad. I love their mutton biryani which comes with 2 large chunks of tender mutton, well cooked and marinated along with a boiled potato and egg, typical of the Kolkata style. The taste is quite similar to that of Kolkata style Biryani. The Misti Doi too is quite good. Apart from that the Mutton Seekh Kabab is definitely worth a try. It is tenderly spiced and the texture is perfect. Mughlai Paratha is also something i loved.
Ambience is good, very little choice available for bengali cuisine ,whatever we tasted from the given choices had a northern touch to it, although the cook tried real hard to match the bengali taste and feel of the cuisine , will love the food if you dont have a preconceived notion abt bengali food ,usp being melodious bengali songs from the yesteryears well dressed n polite staff with n eye for service .
Serves some really good rich as well as thick chicken and mutton gravies.
While the pricing of the Rolls & Mughlai Paratha dishes is quite unreasonable.
