Extremely hygienic, customer friendly, a place that offers quality along with quantity. Manmohan Kharek is something I grew up with as child watching a Safari suit uncle clad moustache uncle sitting in a small mini rickshaw type space and a small joint which has now expanded beautifully! It has grown into a well spaced Kharek centre with modern amenities yet retaining the Amdavadi touch of being rooted to culture. One of the best khareks in town!

A must visit place in my visit to Ahmedabad. After hogging throughout the day in Ahmedabad, I make sure that I come here to digest everything and to experience one of the best and most unique usage of DATES aka KHAJOOR aka KHAREK.
Kharek is the gujju name for dates. A glass of Hajma Hajam drink here which is a mixture of choorans, anardanas and soda is a great natural digestive. Add to that a serving of Masala Kharek which is kharek stuffed with anardana topped with chooran powder and syrup is like a dessert to the drink. Also do try the strong lemon masala soda, I am sure you wouldn’t have tried such lemon soda anywhere else!!!
Whenever I come to this place I carry back loads of goodies like mouth freshners, hajma hajam powder, choorans, golden masala kharek paan.
The man serving these goodies behind the counter is the 4th generation running this shop and showers love and happiness with everything that he serves.
He exports all these goodies all across the world. All the ingredients used are natural and all the products have a long shelf life if you can resist eating and finishing them which is a huge challenge.
Whenever you are in town do visit this place, it’s a must visit for me.
The customer service offered by the man and his khareks are something worth trying :)

Excellent joint to savour Kharek's. They serve a wide range of innovative dishes to tickle the taste bud. Try the chocolate kharek or the Hajma hajam. They are all great!

I used to eat Kharek from this place from many years n the best thing of this place is it’s so hygienic n frdly atmosphere.. The owner Mr. Manish is also very polite n kind he always add new flavours n make customers more happy n delight.. it’s nice to see that now I can order my favourite Kharek n soda from home via Zomato .. yesterday I ordered dry Kharek , Edigestive Kharek n pineapple Kharek n it’s as always yummy n tasty but the one thing I like the most is packaging... it was in very nice plastic box with good quality of paper bag .. I have tasted all Kharek but still waiting for more n more flavours bcoz they know the taste of customers .. Love this place n staff .. best place in Ahmedabad where we can go n have biting even after dinner to digest food n that’s the best thing .. and just like me many Kharek n soda lovers come here not form Ahmedabad but form foreign also .. I was in the area and saw this small shop. I thought it's a normal soda shop so went to get myself one. But when i got her i saw different types of mouth fresheners and few packets which looked very weird to me. On enquiring the man at the shop told they are specialised in selling Churans, Mukhwas etc along with some drinks mostly sodas to which he adds the powder from those packets which is good for digestive system. I found it very interesting as he was explaining everything about them and tried the Hajam Hajam Soda on his recommendation. It was very refreshing and weirdly tasty. He also gave some free samples and told to have it by adding in Thumps Up. Well I am pretty excited to tell my mom and friends about it. I also bought the masala kharek and imly (Tamarind) golis
After having a heavy snacks at day and night went there as it is just next to it. Along with the good food.. you also need something which helps the food to digest.. and tell you there is nothing better than kharek. Wonderful place with great choices of kharek. Masala kharek was really good. Truely a wonderful kharek ....

Being a complete foodie, what i truly love about ahmedabad is the spirit; they will eat like there is no tomorrow, and then eat again to digest that. Kharek is something that i had always heard about but never tried and since we were are on a mission to try all gujrati specialities these days, this one had to be a must try.
We found our way to this small shop in the lanes of C G Road almost close to midnight. Since we were all completely clueless about what the thing is all about, we left it at the owner to give us the best to try.
The kharek is had dry, with water or with soda and he gave us all three to try. The base of all three is a masala, somewhat like a 'chooran' that is sprinkled over candied ginger, olives etc to be had in the dry form. The way he served it to us with soda was quite unique and the expertise of the gentleman was quite evident.
Since i could see i some packages inside his shop, i asked him if he sells that too. He happily showed us inside his shop. There were varieties of choorans and mukhwas, imli goli etc. Like they say ' Never judge a book by its cover'..i was surprised to know that that like shop actually exports its products, was featured in newspapers, is on zomato and has a domain on the web that according to gentleman, was not too easy to get. He obliged us with a few packets of the masala, made us taste a few golis that he had packed for diwali and export.
The soda was quite refreshing, something unique that i had never had. A really good digestive and must try. So here i have another thing on my gifting list for the coming Diwali. Highly recommended, must try.
One of the oldest place for kharek and hajma hajam.. For me it was first visit today and will definitely visit many more times.. It is small shop nearby to Navrangpura Bus Stand but products sold here are awesome..
On my first visit to this place I tried Simple Hajma Hajam and loved it.. Till date I have not found hajma hajam like this place serves.. It was perfect in taste.. Quantity was sufficient as per rates.. Too many varieties were available so will try more in future..
Also I heard from the owner of the shop that many more varieties in hajma hajam and kharek are available and it is true.. Even flavours like pine apple and chocolate were available with combination of kharek.. Good innovation and I am sure that it will be quality product..
Overall don't go on shop size.. Though it is small one but it is quality place and you will enjoy it..

They have dry Hajma Hajam powder too thst can be taken home but that's not as good ss the one u have at the outlet.
Excellent kharek and hajma hajam. I have a less ratinbecause it is quite expensive.
My advice is that simply prefer the simple hajma hajam, simple kharek or ginger kharek. Don't try anything else.
