Recently I visited Ahmedabad and came across this place while exploring the local sweets of Gujarat with a fellow.
So he suggested that I try Halvason, papad chavana and sutarfeni.
These all were very new to me!!!
The Halvason is a very sticky kind of sweet topped with sliced almonds. It is for the extremely sweettooth.
The sutarfeni is the gujrati version of our soanpapdi , just that it is less sweet and has a noodle like texture.Very light on the palate.
The papad chavana was my favorite. It was such an yummy snack!!!
All in all a good experience!
The outlet is a branch of very famous and old firm ( more than 125 yrs) based at Khambhat having speciality in 2 traditional sweets - Sutarfeni and Halwasan .
Both are having fabulous taste ,halwasan being bit sticky in texture everybody may not prefer , but sutarfeni is recommended for all. Apart from this 2 sweets they also offer other regular sweets , namkeens . Not much experience of sweets other than 2 specialised ones .

On 17th October at around 5 Pm i had visited your shop and purchased the following items;1)Sutarpheni 4 Packets 2)Halwasan 1/2 Kg &3)Ghari 1/2 kg.
You had informed that you have only 2 pcs of Ghari only,to make up 1/2 kg you had given me from your display counter and informed me it is good.Trusting you i paid Rs 1117/-.
Today when i opened the box of Ghari i found bed smell coming from it.Unfit for human consumtion.I am sending it back to you by courrier today so that you can see it yourself .I am sorry to say that i was totally disappointed & never expected a reputed firm of your standing supplying stale item to your customer
Great for shrikhand & halwasan. Very authentic taste & quality ingredients. Surely a local gem that is hidden from public eye. They have great namkeens also.
Halvasan is one of the dish which represents Gujarati Sweets and Sukhadiya very well serves it. Those people who do not belong to Gujarat and wants to try some Gujarai tasty sweet, then those people should visit this place and try Halvasan here.
Apart from Halvasan, the "Lili Kachori" is super tasty and fresh and I recommend all to try it atleast once.
A decent shop to try Gujarati farsan and sweets. Most of the food items available here are tasty. I am fond of these since I visited Khambhat many years ago. Papad chavanu is my favourite and a must try. Halvasan is very tasty and has rich flavor of cardamom. Sutarfeni is also good. Although a bit costly, the food items are unique and should be tried by Gujarati snack lovers.
Good Shop for well known cambay sweets like suterfeni.. halwason. . Suka bhajya.. and particularly you can everyone can enjoy special quality and Verity of shrikhand.. and so many varieties of sweets..

All swets are available. specially, I like it's suterfeni test. Also, other items like chat puri, chavanu, sev, etc are available. It's best sweets test are awsome. All sweats shows the dates after made.
Awasome authentic mohan thal and halwasan ..... If you are in Ahmedabad please visit and taste these 2 things ..... I bet you will enjoy if you have a sweet tooth ......
A good place for traditional Indian sweets and namkin. They specialise in famous Khambhat Halwasan.
nice place had a few snaks they were great quality I think good oils were used in frying good enough taste *recommend mix chavanu, Farsi puri, dried samosa, papad chavanu.

Loved the Sutarfeni. It has to be the best Sutarfeni in India. They also do next day delivery anywhere in India for Rs. 150.
This place is famous for its mixed namkeen which has papad in it. In local language they call it papad chavanu. It is also famous for a sweet called Halvasan.
Very good place to buy Khambhati varieties like Halwasan, Sutarfeni & Mamra Papad nu chavanu. Provides Halwasan in packed tin for sending to relatives in foreign countries.
