Excellent authentic gujarati food, good service and ambience.
Must try:-
1) Makka di roti and sarso da sak
2) Leela haldar nu shak ( love it)
3) Special and unique dish - spinach cheese cigars.
The Gujarati veggies are made in Non Gujarati gravy style. Although tasty, I miss the authentic taste.
service like I have never seen..its amezing
very delicious food. I'm super happy with it. and if the curry was a bit sour, it would have been perfect.
The khichadi could have been a bit more cooked and the dhoklis could've been a bit thinner. Liked the baingan and sukhadi.
Plate size is small n tissue-paper are only 1 in the box
The vegetable had too much oil which had spilled all over
Good food delivery on time
Convenience at its best. They are master of their cuisine. i.e. Gujarati cuisine. Absolutely home style, pure and tasty food. Wide range to pick from the drive through. Courteous and prompt cooks and owners. Very convenient when you decide a sudden party or get together for as many number of people. Just call them and they will provide you with hot, freshly cooked food in no time.
Ordered parcel of Gujarati Thalis. Amazing taste and packaging. Only small issue: salad was stale! Please try serve better salad. Rest: will certainly recommend
Ordered dinner again and not the fixed thali but individually!!! Loved it... You guys are purely Gujarati... Will just recommend if you can start delivering pls
I call this the Ame Gujarati express outlet. Meant predominantly to be a take-away joint and located strategically close to residential locale, it almost serves as mom's kitchen for many. It is the closest food you can buy to home-made typical Gujarati lunch, not just in taste but also the feel. The intangible difference between home-made food and food from outside does not pop up if the food has been parcelled from Ame Gujarati express outlet! And that's what I personally adore about this place.
In a nutshell, what one can get here is two variants of packed Gujarati lunch with roti, sabji, beans, meethi dal, rice, papad, achar and the difference being with sweet and without sweet. If fixed lunch is not the idea, once can choose the offerings in various combination. Among other stuff they have handvo, dhokla, patra, thepla etc. The real attraction for me here is dal dhokli, a staple Gujju recipe which is rare to find at restaurants in Ahmedabad. To best describe dal dhokli for people who may not know about it is, half-roasted thepla pieces strewn in slightly viscous dal and the combination boiled in a tawa or cooker for a while. It is a delicious and nutritious thing to have. They also serve family tiffins as take-aways. Most of the time the choice of sabji in the fixed packs is different on daily basis.
Pricing is okay. They have been considerate enough to put out exactly two tables on the outside in case you don't want a take-away. Which doesn't often. Like I mentioned before, it's predominantly a take-away joint. And yes, going back with food might take a bit while they pack and all, since they always serve hot. So, it's a good idea to be prepared to put some patience at use. For me, it's worthwhile a wait or when in a no-waiting mood I would take some errand along.
This joint is my best, safe and a reliable bet in case of 'missing-home-food' feeling. Indeed, to be precise.
Not cooking lunch at home today? Ame Gujarati express outlet is the destination you are looking for! The best part - it's a win-win for all!!
Greetings fellow foodies..!!
Yesterday, as it was being Uttarayan we went to "Ame Gujarati" for take-way of "Undhiyu"...it is decently priced @ 200 per kg. I went to this place around 9:00 pm and ordered my "Undhiyu", which they packed nicely in a plastic tub.
If I talk about quality, then serving had sufficient quantity of veggies (whether "Shakkariya" or "Beans" or for that matter "Methi Muthiyas").
I think Gujarati's are too particular for their "Fafdas" & "Undhiyus", so everywhere you find "spicy undhiyus" with generous servings of oil. However, "Undhiya" didn't had overdose of spices & and didn't had generous serving of "Sing Tel", for that matter "Ame Gujarati's" "Undhiyu" was in its own league.
Here, would be frank with my liking: after coming home my mother (who was a head chef @ one of the 5 star property in Delhi and have a track record of compliments from Atal Behari Vajpayee, Rajiv Gandhi and Mark Tully to name a few) infused some extra spices on the "Factory Made" "Undhiyu" to come with a "Finished Product" which was a sheer "Magic".
Apart from "Undhiyu" (which is a must have on Uttarayan & is a winter delicacy), they also serve "Gujarati Thalis" and "Tradional Tiffins" plus some of the Gujarati "Sooku Farsan" along side some regular "Gujarati Fare"
So, all in all, I would definately give my tastebuds another round of "Ame Gujarati's" traditional delicacies; and would suggest you should definately give this place a try if you want to fall in love with "Gujarati Fare". And mark me you'll find some item or couple of items your liking.
My wife like test of Muthia and Handvo. We had a little issues when we purchased on 23/06/2023.When I went to complaint on 26/06/23 .i happened to meet Mr Mehta who listen to our issues and concern and resolved the issues. I am from USA and happy to see customer service like USA who believes customer is always right. Thanks Dishankbhai for your good customer service.

More tables and a bit of neatness. Maybe because of the monsoon but yes it can be a bit more neat. The food is amazing though for the price the portion is definitely more than sufficient.
Food is very tasty. Non spicy.
Usually i buy Undhyu from next shop which is spicy and in red greavy but once i brought from here it was really tasty in green gravy less oily and non spicy.
They can also makes if you order in advance.
Its not a big restaurant. Just kitchen inside and few chairs and tables outside. Mostly they cook as per prior order or as per their daily thali menu.
Gujarati first search for tummy praise.
Less spucy, less oily food with taste of home
