So recently I went to this cafe that is like the hidden gem in Ahmedabad. This cafe is called @cafenatarani , which is an open cafe in the premises of "Darpana Academy", the famous and very old dance academy owned by the very talented Mallika Sarabhai.
This cafe is unique in the way as it is all made up of recycled waste. The bricks, the interiors, everything. The whole Ambience reflects the richness of Arts.
Recently, they've launched a summer menu where they've included soothing summer dishes, which are not so fancy, but are simple, less spicy and though yummy.

The whole menu Is designed in such a way that it has minimal spices and is more of simple and sober kind of food, yet delicious which is a perfect choice in summer.

One of the nicest places in Ahmedabad specially for those who seak peace while having food while spending time with whomsoever you come; recommended during winters preferably, and during rains maybe. The food here is appetizing; not to miss homemade icecreams. We had Pasta which was delicious. Simple and decent place to hangout.

I read about this place in the Times Food Guide 2018 and it was nominated under the Must Visit for Tourists.
Frankly speaking I was disappointed by the ambience and the service.
But 4 out 5 stars for food, The Tangy Tomato Pasta, Wedges and Masala Rice were awesome.
Looking forward to have them again.

It’s a unique place.Will surely remind you of your college canteen.Very rustic,organic outdoor seating.Very limited menu but worth a try just cause if it’s uniqueness.
We had some time to kill on our way from Bada to Delhi via Ahmedabad so my partner suggested we check this place out. It’s very basic but interestingly designed - a very earthy natural feel to this open air cafe. We saw a lot of couples in its nooks and crannies which was nice because it obviously gives them the privacy and space to visit this place.
The food and drink was good - emphasis again on natural for e.g. the potato wedges were not fried but roasted. The chipotle on top was brilliant.
The spritzer and lime soda was very tasty and felt homemade.
All in all a great 35 minutes.
Only downer was that they don’t allow to see the school. A little publicity won’t hurt.
This is cafe for mostly raw people, with traditional soothing music in the background and no ac , it works best in winter. During monsoon , mosquitoes are bit of a problem but the staff is quite friendly they will provide you with some mosquito repellent. About the food , I am personally fan for its drinks. The lemon mint ginger flavoured is one of my favourite. They also have seasonal fruit drinks which is quite rare in other cafe. The ambiance is quite peaceful and soothing.
Me and my wife went to have the famous egg biryani, but to our misfortune it was not available. So we ordered egg bhurji, cheese chilli omelette, Spinach Feta omelette. The bhurji and cheese chilli omelette was good. The spinach feta omelette was a bit let down because it was bland. The overall experience was good.
Cafe Natrani is a small cafe which gives esoteric flowing spaces to the customers. Even though it is a small cafe, the menu is rather arresting and has good vibes which double up during the night time when the pretty lights come on. I ordered a strawberry banana smoothie and Caprese with Mozzarella, pesto and tomatoes. The combination of strawberry and banana worked out better than I thought it would and it was completely fulfilling. The Caprese was crisp. Cafe Natrani somehow manages to make you feel at home for people are often spotted sitting there with utmost casual comfort. A little distinction that they stand with is that they don't use plastic- neither for storing nor for serving. Thus none of their drinks come with a straw. The staff is really welcoming.
Awesome place its really quite and food is really awesome. Pasta cold coffee is smiply awesome one should visit this place with friends. And awesome staff
Place is wonderful as you can have the feel of being enjoying the cool breeze. Apart form that the rates over here are economical and the place is quite small so make sure you go by 7 or 8 as it closes by 10:00 .

Visited this cafe a few days ago in day time. They have a unique ambience. It is based on cultural theme. This is the open air place, so hygiene can be the issue. They have a self-service. The prices are moderate. Ordered Lemon Iced Tea, Cream Cheese Cucumber Sandwich and Masala Tea. Everything was just okay, nothing to rave about.
Has to be one of the classic hangout place in Ahmedabad. It's an open air, terracotta brick cafe that provides cave like seats thru curved walls. Really love the place! Unlike other cafes, Natrani is not a rip off and provides you chai and coffee at nominal rates along with some bites. Though in the climate of Ahmedabad one cannot really sit there during the daytime. It's too hot! I wish they had a little seating area inside!
Best way to Cultivate your self with exotic expresso !! Architecture wise phinominal tough wide too!! Also reasonable price too ! Natrani would be your first choice to have break down your clumsyness in your life! 💖💖💖

Calm and quiet place to hangout. The only minus point is this place has no air condition. An open air café which serves good food and drinks. It is not noisy and the environment is different from a regular café. Winters are ideal to sit here for some hot coffee and something to nibble.
Natrani isn't a place, it's an experience. The word RASA used in art aesthetics to denote essence or flavour encapsulates the experience of being here. The cafe is part of an ecosystem that uses clean energy, believes in no wastage and is big on recycling. Take the time to observe the details, like the broken glass pieces tastefully adorning the walls, the TED commandments placed to the side of the order booth or the smell of the red brick when it rains. Their dal chaawal and masala chai are classics, and their nimbhu pani with rose sherbet is heavenly. So great to also understand the context of the cafe, maybe take a class/workshop at Darpana or watch a show at the amphitheatre or figure out your own path to getting involved. The introverts and the art enthusiasts and the spiritually inclined and the creative and the curious will most definitely adore Natrani 💋
I came here for a crepe festival and it was quite good! Shoutout to chef Pratika for her skillz. And no please don't come here solely for the food because that would be silly, please do keep up with the latest events schedule at Natarani and treat the food as an accompaniment to the sights and sounds.

What I really love about this place is its ambience. It's quite green and peaceful. The mushroom and cheese omlette is good, and the lemon ginger cooler is very refreshing. The perfect place to chill out at on a lazy day.
Just been to Cafe Natrani this weekend. The best thing about this place is the ambience. Once you enter this place the seating arrangement is completely different. They say it was made out of scrap material. Trees around in this place makes it awesome. It is a self service cafe. The food is also very good. Had paasta, thin crust pizza, the natrani club sandwich and beverages like watermelon,rose, guava juice. Although it was humid inside, but a good place to hangout with a group of friends. If you have a gang of friends, do visit this place.

This is my personal Favourite space, i dont have much of pictures here. But 2years of my college would have not been complete, if i wasnt introduced to Natrani' & All the Theater shows happening there.
I've had alot of Pakoda's & chai here, thereafter garlic bread & pastas were in season and now the food menu has really become huge. I've loved everything at Natrani.
A cute little 'young-at-heart' cafe near the Darpan Academy, its a great place to hang out with friends. The decor is arty and rustic. Hard furniture makes it difficult to sit for long. Food is average and the menu is a little restrictive. I had a cold coffee which was cold and was a coffee, so no real complaint there. Being adjacent to Darpan the crowd is good.
I don't know what I'd been doing with my life before I visited this place! I mean how could one simply live in Ahmedabad and not go here. A quaint peaceful café next to Darpan academy, with no fancy interior, only an artsy look and feel to it. Beautiful ambience. No over the top furniture, nothing fancy here.
Yet, i bet you'd love this place! The food, too is good. Tried a cold coffee and peanut butter banana smoothie and was thoroughly satisfied. A great place to chill, or catch up with old friends or probably even spend some time alone!

Situated on a street next to Ashram road, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Natrani Cafe is a place to be if you want to spend a quite evening. The rustic ambience of the cafe makes you wanna just sit there and relax for hours. And though with very limited options, the food and the drinks weren't that bad either.

They have a small but satisfying and satiating menu comprising of teas, sandwiches, fries and nachos. Must say, none of the items are incredibly brilliant... Have to admit that I have had better made food at other places. But everything here is just about right! The ambience is amazing, and the food is also as good.

I heard a lot about the place from friend, but not really impressed with the place, a good place with friends to hang out but the Cup of Coffee is more costlier then the similar cafe. But You can Try KABAB's for Sure, a Live Kabab's can steal your Heart.
The best part about this place is the ambience! You can sit for hours together with almost-no disturbance. Very limited menu, but every dish is well prepared. The 'Pudina-lemon tea' is a must-try!

Café Natrani is a popular haunt. Hidden away, off Ashram road, next to the riverfront, the place would be difficult to locate but for its proximity to Darpana Academy and fame associated with it.
Café Natrani has the feel of a college canteen - what with the blackboard listing out menu items, the system of ordering, serving and clearing of the dishes and the general laid back feel.
Had the Cheese grilled sandwich, Pudina Nimboo and Cold Coffee. Sandwich was good and filling. Drinks adequate and satisfactory.
The college canteen feel and hollowed out seating structures lend a good atmosphere, however care should be taken to maintain cleanliness and hygiene as the aping of the casualness could stop there. The toilets were not up to the mark and there was a bit of litter which could be very easily avoided.
Place worth visiting, to tick off, as surely must be on a million wishlists!:)
One of the best places I've been to in a long time. The ambience is super laid back and relaxed. The food is great to - one of the nicest omlette I've had in a long time, unlike the omelettes served across a number of restaurants across Ahmedabad.
The staff is sincere and well mannered, and unless you do something way out of line for a café, the won't bother you at all. And even if you do (I was sleeping on of the benches) they'll still come and talk in the most mannered way possible to not sleep.
The seating is great too - has a stark ethnic feel, really creative.
Natrani scores largely on its ambience and I love how the entire place is designed to allow privacy for arched in walls distract and blur other tables. I would highly recommend carrying a good book and odomos to truly enjoy the place.
The food is decent and there is nothing to great about it. I loved their chocoloate shake though. The bread in the sandwich seemed a day old and I might have possibly visited it on a bad day.
I like how impersonal and private the space is. There is a sense of not owing anything to anyone and hence it is easier to be like yourself. The cafe does not really care whether there are customers or not and the rule of self service fits the picture. This is also one of the places without loud customers making it one of the few idyllic spots in the city to enjoy a great book.
