We looked up authentic Maharashtrian coastal cuisine and decided to try out Charcoal. πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Neat and clean place with limited seats. Delicious food freshly prepared and served piping hot. 🍲 Seafood is the speciality at this restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. 🐟 Service is prompt and the people are quite friendly and warm-natured. Highly recommend that you try this place when in Alibaug/Kihim. Totally worth it πŸ‘ŒπŸŒŸ

Found out this place during my last visit to Alibaug. Situated on main road, towards Alibaug City, Charcoal Family Restaurant is a lovely place run by a lady. The host was kind enough to welcome us. We tried the fish thali (pomphret), egg thali, egg masala, soal kadhi and ended the meal with a Brownie. The portions are quite good and the most important part was the fresh chapatis that kept coming. Overall a lovely place for lunch/dinner.

One of the finest restaurants in Alibag who offers local authentic culinary dishes rather than mass appeal or hype. Each masala tastes magical as it is family secret and all at reasonable price level. Chicken & Pomfret Thali was superb. Setting is small, seating area, extremely hygienic and food curated and cooked by a qualified experienced Chef who has eye for details. We will be backπŸ˜€

Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐ Value for money: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2 SOT rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . We recently tried out this amazing multi-cuisine restaurant in Alibag. Right from Authentic Malvani food, to Chinese and even Continental cuisine, Charcoal Restaurant covers all taste palettes. The owners are really friendly and gave us some amazing suggestions! . Here's what we had : . 1. Prawns coconut soup : To start off with our meal, we wanted to try something different than the usual Manchow soup. The owner suggested this dish and we must say, it is worth a try. Having a base of coconut milk, the soup contained a generous amount of prawns and this indeed was a welcome change. . 2. Chicken Barbeque Skewers : Juicy chunks of chicken marinated in a spicy BBQ sauce along with onions and mixed bell peppers. We loved their homemade BBQ sauce which was a little spicy unlike the other places we've had BBQ chicken from. . 3. Tandoori Pomfret : This one's a treat for all the Seafood lovers. The Pomfret was fresh and grilled to perfection. The tandoori masala on the Pomfret was full of flavour. It is served with a side of salad and green chutney. Highly recommend this dish! . 4. Agri Chicken Masala with Bhakri : Recommended by the owners as a must-try, this dish definitely lived up to our expectations. Chicken masala prepared in a traditional Malvani masala made of dry coconut and spices. This dish was perfectly spiced and the chicken was tender. Pair this with a Bhakri and a side of onions and you're good to go! . 5. Caramel Custard: This freshly prepared caramel custard was a perfect end to our meal. The custard was smooth and the caramel sauce was slightly bitter, just how we like it! . Not to forget, the presentation of the dishes were also commendable. All in all, Charcoal Restaurant is a must-try when you're at Alibag. You are sure to have a great time! . PS : Though the ambience may not be upto the mark, the food is exceptional. You have our word on that! . . . #saveourtummies #seafood #alibag #pomfret #prawns #agri #bhakri

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Not so good on appearances. It's a roadside eatery which insists on serving freshly cooked food. They had fresh fish and the food was excellent. Must visit

Best example of 'Don't judge book by its cover'. Its really a gem in disguise. Awesome food! If you are visiting Alibaug then must go to this place for food. Fish dishes are fresh and delicious. Rice bhakri and Solkadi stands out with authentic local taste. We tried Prawns, Surmai, Pomfret all fresh and tasty. If you are not non-vegetarian then can try tasty veg dishes as well.

One of the hidden treasure of Alibag...silently sitting away from the city...very few people know of its true value...the best owner/chef of the restaurant satisfies your taste buds with his awesome cooking skills...just put your finger on any dish in the menu and you will be more than satisfied...tonight we tried Chicken Satay with peanut butter, prawns kathiawadi rolls and Chicken tikka biryani...I am short of words to describe the taste...please do visit the place and try chef's specials.

We ordered mutton sukkha, fish fry, chicken tikka all were perfectly cooked and delicious. Ambience is like a dhaba but don't go on their exterior they provide authentic agri food. On the veg side try their panner pulao/biryani :P the quantity is enough for 2 person
