I went here for my birthday and I had an insane time. I have never ordered brinjal/aubergine/baingain at a restaurant but on this occasion I ordered it three times! Recheado Baingan was the winner of the night! Delicious recheado masala enveloping the baingan served with cream cheese and warm poi. We also had thinly sliced kohlrabi with crispy garlic but we would have liked more of it. Then we ordered tapioca puffs with a really delicious dip. We also ordered slivered okra as a snack along with our drinks. Drinks wise, I ordered the Mahua spritz and was underwhelmed by it. I later switched to Red wine Sangria and loved it. My husband ordered Mallu Mai Tai twice. Everyone else at the table ordered various prawns and chicken dishes and overall everyone loved the food. We had many friends here so the social vibe was amazing. Our server Imran was very patient as we were a large group. Overall, I loved this place and would love to visit again.

Nestled in anjuna, Mahe is one of the restaurant in goa that serves best coastal cuisine. This place has got a lovely ambiance that looks even more beautiful at night. They have outdoors seating amidst all the greenery and indoors AC seating. Also do not forget to checkout their lifestyle and art shop.

Food:
We ordered
- Prawns balchao: Prawns were juicy and succulent. The masala was lips-smacking and full of flavours. This dish is a new addition and it's not available on the menu.
- Chicken wings with Pulinji sauce: The Pulinji sauce was the main highlight here. Puli being tamarind and inji being ginger, this sauce from Kerala was tangy, spicy and complimented chicken wings so well.
- Crispy okra with pickles: This was very interesting preparation of okra. Vegetarians should definitely try this one.
- Roasted cauliflower with pea puree: Great presentation! It was good.
- Chicken chettinad: We love south Indian chicken gravys and this was so flavoursome!! The chicken pieces were succulent.
- Dosa: It was soft and complemented chicken chettinad well.
- String Hoppers: These rice noodles are another speciality from Tamil Nadu. It's also called iddiyappam. It was good and went well with the chicken gravy.
- Fish Pulimulagu: This fish curry had a twist of tomato based gravy so it was not the spicier side. Fish was delicious!! We had it with brown rice and the combo was good.
- Pradhaman Panna Cotta: The best dessert at Mahe!! It was very soothing and had perfect sweetness level.
- Gin sour New York style: Another treasure from the chest of bartender. This cocktail served with glass full of single huge ice block is treat for eyes as well as soul.
- Homemade ginger beer: This mocktail was refreshing and it has a strong ginger flavour.

Must try: Prawns balchao, chicken wings, crispy okra, Chicken chettinad with Dosa, Pradhaman Panna Cotta

Service: Great service. Attentive staff.

Cost: Most of the items are in range of 350 to 450 bucks

Mahe has been truly amongst the restaurants where I first tasted the true essence of coastal food. Although it’s modern coastal, some of the dishes in the menu are very traditional and prepared in the most authentic way.

The all time favourite includes the Chicken 65 and Red Snapper Ceviche but some of the new additions in the menu made the meal superlative.

The cured mahi mahi and pickled kohlrabi are the must tries. Not only they look beautiful but taste awesome.

Amaranth Phillys with Beetroot Chutney and Prawn Ajilio are another two dishes to look out for.

The main course had me craving for my basics like Kerala Beef Fry, Mahe Fish Curry and Chicken Chettinad and they were very well satiated.

If you still haven’t been to Mahe, it’s never too late, visit them now and enjoy a hearty coastal meal.

One-stop solution for all cravings Coastal.
Appams, Parottas, Balchao, Pradhaman- If any of these words made your heart skip a beat then you should make your way to this spectacular restaurant in Anjuna. First things first (Obviously, FOOD)- For appetizers, I tried their chicken 65, Prawn Balchao and Cured Mahi Mahi fish with Coriander Oil and kondattam. Each one of them was absolute stunners in their own way. I would highly recommend the Prawn Balchao and Cured Mahi Mahi fish.
Next up - main course: I chose Parotta+Mutton curry and string hoppers+ Chicken stew.
Parotta and Mutton curry - These two items when ordered together are guaranteed to bring a smile on your face. For Desserts, I tried the Pradhaman pannacotta and the coconut ice cream with plantain. If you have tried the Pradhaman payasam before you will know what this pannacotta is all about - Creative and oh so delicious. It’s not every day that you see a fine dining restaurant that’s willing to take on South Indian food. Mahe adds a sensational twist to dishes that most people in the southern part of India would recognize and love. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that was put on the table. VISIT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! :)

The Tingling Taste Buds

Tucked into the by lanes of Anjuna is an old Portuguese house that has been converted into a charming and aesthetically pleasing restaurant, Mahé curating a modern coastal cuisine. The structures charcoal grey color, minimalistic yet elegant lighting and the greenary surrounding it are real eye catchers. With 2 indoor and an outdoor dining area, a bar section and a store, it offers a relaxed, yet enjoyable experience. The menu offers a good selection of veg and non-veg dishes made using fresh produce.

Note: Images contain half the original portion, hence the servings mentioned.

We tried the following:

- Drinks: Gin Sour New York Style, Kokum Shrub

- Starters: French Beans, Roasted Beef, Cured Mahi Mahi

- Mains: Roasted Coconut Chicken Curry with Kerala Parotta and Dosa, Mahé Prawn Curry with Brown Rice

- Dessert: Dark Chocolate Mousse

We started our lunch with The Gin Sour New York Style, a definite crowd pleaser. Next was a refreshing and tangy drink and also one of their specials, the Kokum Sour. However, we found it a little strong for our liking.

The main feature in the French Beans dish are long beans paired with coconut and jaggery. The dish is available in both, veg and non veg options. A little under seasoned but a nice dish overall.

Happiness is when your steak has a perfect medium rare cook. With a slight sear on the meat, the Roasted Beef is served with a kombu (seaweed) jus and picked radish. As a whole it's got just the right amount of balance and every element is complimented well.

Every once in a while, you try that one dish which just blows your mind. The Cured Mahi Mahi was that dish for us! Thinly sliced pieces of Mahi Mahi (Dolphin Fish) cured in coriander oil and coconut milk, giving it a flavor which is almost similar to coriander chutney. The texture of the fish is quite different and does not leave behind a fishy taste. A big thumbs up and is highly recommended by us. Do try it out on your visit to Mahé!

For the mains, we started with the Chicken Curry which was paired with Kerala Parotta and Dosa. However, we felt the flaky parotta was a better match than the dosa. Next, we tried Prawn Curry paired with brown rice. A classic combination liked by many.

The mousse is set on top of a salty biscuit base that balances out the sweetness and slight bitterness from the dark chocolate. Although slightly dense, this dessert totally works and was a nice end to our meal.

Headed over to Mahe for some good lunch. This place has really chill vibes. They have a bar area too.

Starting off with their drinks,
I tried the ginger beer which is a non alcoholic drink and tastes quite amazing.
Classic kombucha which was another fizzy, refreshing drink and tasted fairly good.

For the starters,
I tried chicken 65 which were boneless chicken pieces severed with a side dip. I really loved this one.
Prawns ajillo which was a light flavored curry with prawns in it and was served with soft poi.
Roasted cauliflower with pea puree was also well cooked cauliflower and the puree was a delight to my taste buds.

For the main course,
We were served rice along with Sambar which had drumsticks and more veggies, Fish pulimulagu which was also a light flavored curry with pieces of fish, Poriyal carrot which was like a carrot sabzi, green moong curry which was of familiar taste as its known as 'moong achi usal' in konkani, string hopper which were also familiar in taste, they also served a dosa and pickle.

For the dessert,
Pradhaman Panna Cotta which was a light flavored dessert.

Overall I totally loved all the starters and the drinks were also something unique that I tasted. The main course was a bit average for me as most of the items were veg but if you are a vegetarian then this would be something you'll love. Coming to the dessert, as I said before it wasn't overly sweet and had a light taste which I really liked.
The ambience and the staff was really cooperative and good.
Not forgetting the presentation part. All the dishes and drinks were very well presented.🙌

Mahé Goa a Morden coastal cuisine with a lovely Portuguese edifice standing on the busy street of Anjuna with a startling ambience, green surroundings and amazing furnishes just elucidates the aroma of the place.

Starting to vanquish our hunger with the Pickled Kolharabi Carpaccio a dish consisting of crunchy turnip garnished with fresh coriander leaves, fried garlic and golden fried onions presented perfectly. Followed by the prawns balchao a traditional dish in Goa comprising of flawlessly cooked prawns with the delicious masala.
Hydrating our selves with The old fashioned a cocktail consisting of straight bourbon blend, brown sugar and house orange bitters which gave a decisive punch and the second cocktail we tried was the glad rags shiba loaded with bourbon, apple, cinnamon, fresh lime, egg whites and cane sugar, the end outcome was a sweet, sour and a zest of spiciness.

Crispy okra with pickles a delicacy we tried for the first time which had crunchy smoked gherkins, karela, lady finger's, tomatoes and sorted raw onions embellished with fresh coriander leaves.

Chicken wings with puliinji sauce a delicacy which consisted of perfectly fried wings served with the puliinji sauce which had a delightful sweet gingery taste.

For the main course, we asked for some Boiled Rice and Shores maach a fish curry and also the Malabar vegetable stew packed with green peas, boiled potatoes and tomatoes which went hand in hand with the Dosa and eventually wrapping up with the luscious dessert Pradhaman Panna cotta.

We truly enjoyed our selves feasting on some mouth-watering food at mahé and it's certainly a great place to light up your taste bulbs.

Was a great pleasure to review this Restaurant , continental is something u could look upto if u happen to visit here . They serve good juicy food and the review is as follows ;
1)Okra crispy ; Rate : 8/10 , nicely prepared , flavours , spices , taste was on thr marks and is a great appetizer.

2) Old Sarasphilla; Fenni

3) prawns ajilio with pao ; frankly the taste was really new to me and i wouldn't go for something that's way to pungent. Not bad but indeed not my dish ; Rate : 5/10

4) chicken wings ; Rate : 7.5/10 , crispy , soft on the inside , perfectly cooked meat along .

5)cured mahi mahi ; Rate : 9/10 , lovely fish served with some secret wattery substance which basically I beleive it to be mayonnaise and oil (not sure ) . Perfectly prepared .

6)Sri Lankan mutton curry with rice noodles ; taste : 8.5/10 , something i would go here again for . Meat was lovely , perfect blend of spices and flavours . And the after taste in your mouth was indeed exotic .

7) Vegetable stew with rice ; Taste : 6.5/10 , basically the gravy here was moreoff based on coconut milk and was a bit sweet . Lot of veggies on the inside of the stew .

8)pickled Colarabi ; taste : 8/10 , lovely vinegar based dish with a crispy tooping of fried onion and garlic .

9) Rhino rattler ; vodka based cocktail

10)Pradhaman Panna cotta ; taste :8.5/10 ,
Lovely dessert , definitely worth having . Kerela based sweet dessert that blends in your mouth .
.
Thank u Mahe Anjuna Goa for hosting us . They have a lovely Goan Portuguese set up restuarant with a lovely ambience and exotic vibe . Do visit .

We sampled some of @mahegoa’s dishes some day’s back and my personal favourite were their appetisers,
Tapioca braves with shallot and preserved aubergine rechaedo served with poie.😋
Also the crispy okra (bhindi) salad. 😍
Yes you heard that right! Never in my life have I liked eating bhindi and this particular salad had me blown by it’s taste!
Their Coastal thaali is sufficient for two and trust me it’s one of the best veg coastal thaali’s I’ve had. (can’t wait to try the fish thaali)
Now coming to desserts,
I generally dislike any dessert that has coconut 🥥 but their -Pradhaman Panna cotta is surprisingly delicious 🤤😍
so if you feel like a sweet treat then that’s my pick.
Plenty more on their menu so definitely go give it a vist!!

The place has a very nice vibe . Great ambience and yummy food. They have an indoor seating with a nice bar area. The outdoor seating is really good too there was a live band playing when we dined here. Must haves on the menu are the fish curry and chicken stew for main course. The small plates are actually quite small , very small portion sixe. The desert menu is limited and the deserts were not as good as the appetisers and the main course. The pana cotta had a very strong flavor of cardamom. The coconut ice cream was average.
The aubergine appetiser was good and so was the steamed fish small plate

Quaint place, in an old bungalow, well kept and tastefully decorated.  The main restaurant, bar and rest rooms are all done up very nicely.  We went for a late lunch.  The place was quiet and relaxing.  Staff is well trained, and able to provide details on menu items.  The cocktails are extremely well prepared, even the ice block used in my Negroni was an exquisite block of clear ice - almost 3 inch cube.  Attention to detail in food preparation, presentation and flavor.  Overall it is a very nice experience.  If there is one negative, it is the small portion sizes which you can see in the attached pictures.  But I would not hold that against them, but go with the mindset of ordering many dishes.

Mahé gets it's name from small town in the union territory of pondicherry. The area was under French influence for quite a long time. The place has been designed to give kind of indo French Portuguese vibe. Built in an old Portuguese house which must be over 150 years old, Mahé has a unique grey colour theme which catches ones eyes.

Recommended dishes:

1 Aubergine racheado - Aubergine cooked in goan racheado style. It was the right amount of spicy and tastes really nice with the goan poi.

2 Crispy okhra with pickles - finely sliced bhindi and pickles fried crisp to the right amount.

3 Tapioca bravas - crispy fried Tapioca served with shallot chilli aioli makes an amazing bar snack.

4 Pradaman Pana cotta - mix of Italian and south Indian cuisine. The panacotta was soft and creamy and really tasty.

Kudos to Sandeep, Mohit and Parth for the amazing place and awesome food.

A great place to try some really good seafood (Mostly seafood dishes from South India). We had some fish fry in the starters which is great. In the main course we settled for a Malabar paratha and chicken chettinad. The chicken chettinad a little mild for my palate yet it was flavoursome. Being a fine dining place, the portions are limited and are priced a tad high but the quality is top notch . The cocktails here are also highly recommended. The ambience of this place is top notch.

Well! This place is located at Anjuna. we got the car parking and it was nicely attended by one front door person and even he parked it by himself! That was really impressive! Live music was the main attraction for us as we prefer it during weekends! Great choice for it! Ambience and Hospitality is 5/5. Drinks were of good choice! The only thing which we were quite confused about to order is the food, the menu could have been added more options according to the place and great ambience, the prices are not that affordable enough to order any particular dish, however there were offcourse good options for munching! They have some fixed menu service as well but since we were full we couldn’t try it! Rest everything was just perfect! It’s a must visit place!

Mahe, a modern coastal cuisine restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Sandeep Sreedharan and Parth Timbadia! The fabulous renovated heritage property which is more than 150 years old, Portuguese Bungalow in which Mahe is housed has an exterior that’s painted a shade of charcoal grey, an atypical choice of colour for Goan homes. With a ravishing bar section, a scintillating dining area, a garden space and a boutique store, Mahe will give you a lifetime experience with it's delicious food made out of local ingredients & their exquisite alcoholic concoctions! Hospitality here deserves special mention as well so does the wonderfully curate special delicacies. We tried out the Aubergine Recheado, Crispy Okra with Pickles (finely sliced ladyfinger with ivy gourd), Pork Vindaloo with Poie (Goan Bread), Fish Coastal Plates, Roast Beef, Kombu Jus, Pickled Radish coupled with a Bartendar Special Mango & Strawberry Mocktail & Homemade Ginger Beer.

Highly Recommended.

There have been many occasions when I feel that along with a passion, and partial profession, blogging is also a blessing. As a blogger, many times I have attended events, which are beyond the reach of common people, I have witnessed screening of movies and shows before their worldwide releases, I have eaten at places before they have opened doors for public, and at all such times I feel very privileged, lucky and blessed to do so.

I always call them the perks of blogging and my recent perk was to try, taste and indulge in the soon to be launched #CoastalPlates by Mahe. The Coastal Plates are a rather modern take on the regular concept of Thaalis. The core idea is the same, to present a variety of dishes in smaller portions and give a balanced meal including, starters, veg, and non-veg main course and staples along with accompaniments. But the best part is that it is not presented in a boring thaali, the newness of presentation is what I found the most appealing.

Also, the ambiance at Mahe is something I always find very inviting. The open spaces in the outdoor, the two sectioned indoor seating and a very attractive lifestyle store.

Now coming to food, whatever little I have eaten earlier at Mahe, and whenever I have been there, I have always liked it and even in my friend circle, I have always heard rave reviews about the food, so I have to say that I was extremely excited to try the Coastal Plates.

The Costal Plates come with pre-set menus and there are three different variations to it, Veg, Chicken & Fish. While I opted for the Fish plate, my sonny boy took the Chicken one.

Chicken Coastal Plate
The non-veg coastal plate consists of rice, Chicken Chettinad, chicken 65, dal of the day, poriyal (poṟiyal is the Tamil word for a fried, or sometimes sauteed, vegetable dish.) of the day, pickle, papad, and spicy chutney powder.

The fish coastal plate consists of rice, mahe prawns curry, fish fry, dal of the day, poriyal of the day, pickle, papad, and spicy chutney powder.

Each and every item on the plate was just perfect. Digging in from both the plates, my personal favorites include the Chicken 65, Fish Fry, Mahe Prawn Curry, Dal, Papad and the Pickle. I could eat that pickle anytime! I loved the fact that they used brown rice in place of the steamed ones and they tasted amazing with the prawn curry. The fish fry was by far the best I had in recent times, perfectly spiced and perfectly fried. The yellow dal with lotus stem too was really nice.

The only thing that I would have liked more was the presence of a dessert in the plate and also a beverage to go along. This would ideally complete the meal and give a more wholesome feeling.

Nevertheless, I am eagerly waiting for the #CoastalPlates to get launched come August and you too should look forward to it. It’s definitely an experience worth your while. But of course, you can always experience these dishes from the regular menu and indulge in the best coastal food in town only at Mahe.

Keep watching this space for more details and follow me on Instagram and Facebook to get notified about this launch and many more exciting things.

Mahe has started the new thali system where in you have a choice of either veg fish or chicken! My friend and I ordered a fish and chicken thali, the fish thali was really Very good! And chicken was good too ! The portion size of the thali is more than enough for two really! Loved the presentation as well! I love the gunpowder and the beet date sauce was simply delicious! I honestly enjoyed this thali with a twist! It’s not your everyday goan thali so don’t expect that! But nonetheless it’s really good! A must try!

I recently visited Mahe Goa, the South Indian cuisine inspired restaurant located in a prime spot in Anjuna, North Goa. I had an exponentially splendid culinary experience, the food was truly excellent: authentic flavours, yet innovative, and beautifully presented. They have an array of in-house specialty made cocktails that are an absolute must try. So many unique flavours and combinations that will certainly excite your taste buds. The Fish Thali and chicken Thali are new additions to the menu , that pack all the best dishes in one meal, an absolute deal maker. The aesthetics and physical décor is sophisticated and delightful. All in all, Mahe has a really high class ambience and is certain to give you a truly fine dining experience.

Mahe, is located in the heart of Anjuna behind Cream Choc ice cream parlor tucked away from the busy beach & noises. It adds charms with it's Portuguese minimalism. The first thing that draws you towards the space is the attractive 18th Century Indo - Portuguese house.

While traditional beach shacks continue to charm patrons, there are a new bunch of eateries that put all their focus on creating menus that will leave a lasting food memory. Mahe is a perfect example of creating a dream decor out of the old-school design. The main dining area is perfect for a romantic date. They do have a in house boutique called Studio Kassa.

Now coming to the food & drinks.

Mahe, have a large selection of cocktails curated by Abhishek George from Singapore's famous Cocktail Bar - The Sniffy Dapper.

 Cocktails: -

1. Sheikh on the Level

This is made from Black Tea Gin, Cardamom, Fresh Lemon, Brown sugar & Egg whites. One of the best cocktail I've tried. Really impressed by the flavors.

2.Negroni de Goa

Chiretta leaves are infused into Campari and served along with Cashew Feni & house-made Vermouth are carefully crafted over.

Appetizer: -

1. Tapioca

Bravas with Shallot Chilli Aioli. It's crisp and went well with the mayo. Loved it.

2. Preserved Aubergine Rechado

This is basically a fusion of Kerela-Goan dish. The rachado masala was fresh and had the exact amount of spice to it. It's served with bread.

3. Chicken Wings with Pullinji Sauce

Man, I am in love this sauce. The sauce is made from Tamarind which goes perfectly with the wings. A must try.

4. Cured Mahi

Mahi is basically a type of fish cooked for 48 hours and cured with spices with a touch of coconut milk & rice crystals. This is one of the highlights. The flavors are so good. It's soft and has the crunchiness, it just melts in your mouth.

Mains: -

1.Kerela Beef Fry

It's basically Beef Sukah, one of the best and common dish of Kerela. The spices were spot on and the beef was so tender that. So good that It just melted in the mouth.

2.Crab Curry

The crab was cooked to perfection. The curry had a perfect balance of spices and coconut.

Dessert:-

Pradaman Panna Cotta

It's a South Indian take on Italian Dessert. It is soft and creamy right down to the last spoonful. This is made from Daal.

Mahe Goa, is one of the best places in Goa. The food menu at Mahé is a delicious mix of small plates and curries each of which celebrate the delicate flavors of local fish. It's a must visit if you're around Anjuna side.

So my friend and I visited Mahe on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were greeted with fancy cocktails and mocktails. The ambience is pretty with high seating chairs as well as a family room for groups. The place also has an in-house boutique. Outdoor seating is available but closed during monsoons. Another fancy thing was the washroom with small glass pieces on the wall and a big mirror for your washroom selfies. The host was friendly and made sure we had a good time. We were served veg, fish and chicken starters. It was a full 3 course meal with main course and desserts being served too. The food taste and presentation is top notch. The bartender is an energetic guy who makes some of the best drinks. Overall my experience at Mahe was pretty good and I’d definitely recommend this place.

An a'mahe'zing place! From the outside it has a look of a goan-portuguese house. The outdoor area didn't have tables due to rain but I bet it would be wonderful to sit there gazing at the beautiful garden. First thing to grab my attention when I went in were the lights. I love the lights at this place. Very unique. Next was the bar counter where they have magicians 😜who make some splendid cocktails.

Speaking of cocktails we had Deccan sour and Ossified Mrs.Grundy . I had heard a lot about the cocktails here and I wasn't disappointed although the two cocktails were a little too acerbic for my liking.

Coming to the food, every dish that we tried was unique as it's their take on the coastal cuisine. The tapioca bravas crispy on the out and soft on the inside was complemented well by the Shallot chilli aioli. The slow cooked mackerel was great. The plums added a some freshness to the dish. The aubergine rechaedo was another amazing dish and for some reasons it was nostalgic . But the dish I loved the most would be the Srilankan mutton . Perfectly cooked mutton in adequately racy gravy. And it went so well with the spring hoppers. Shores maach, a bengali dish had a luscious , fresh and well cooked fish had kinda bland gravy. The prawns pathuri was also quite satiating to the tastebuds. We had the usual dosa and goan poi to have the curry with. To end the meal on a high note we were served pradhaman panna cotta. A not very saccharine and great texture.

Imagine a Portuguese villa with an Indian backyard, continental bar and a restaurant which offers delicacies from across the country. This is Mahe Goa - an absolute delight for all the seafood lovers. I visited this multi faceted restaurant in one of the hot afternoons of May. And what stuck me as soon as I entered the restaurant was the serenity and the positivity in the air. The hospitality was great as I was briefed about the entire property by Mohit. And then came the best part... Cocktails and the food. The menu is well spread... Covers variety of liquors and the food originates from Goa, Mahe, Bangladesh and Kerala, to name a few. More awe-inspiring is the way these delicacies are served by the stewards. The finesse and the mannerism of plating and the story behind each dish is definitely to be enjoyed.

Mahé - Modern Coastal Cuisine's beautiful modern Portuguese architecture makes for the perfect ambience for a fine dining restaurant. The highlight of my whole experience at Mahé were the cocktails and I can take it a step ahead by saying the cocktails at Mahé are some of the best I have ever had. We tried the Kukum Shrub, the Ossified Mrs Grundy, the Mallu Mai Tai and the Gin Sour New Your Style. I strongly recommended these cocktails. The food at Mahé brings together all the coastal food experiences from India in one menu. The Cured Mahimahi was a special dish for that day and it tasted heavenly. Besides this I loved the Tapioca Bravas with Shallot Chilly Aioli. The Kerala Beef fry and the Baby Radish with mustard sauce were also good. I wasn't impressed with the Chorizo because it was too watery and didn't pack a punch. For dessert we had the Plantain, Coconut icecream, jaggeried coconut and mint which ended my meal on a nice note. The pricing was a high but the experience was worth it.

Such a beautiful and calming set up,the food was really delicious, the flavours were classic, I would love to keep going back to try each one offered on the food and bar menu. The cocktails served were also a stand out.

The aubergine rechado was finger licking good, the red snapper ceviche, morrels, okra and others were all a stand out..Service was wonderful, they make you comfortable while providing a great overall fine dinning experience. We were also treated to some great gin cocktails.. for me the Gin Sour(NY Style) was the highlight of our cocktail experience.

Must say that a place like mahe didnt exist in North Goa yet and they have definitely set a standard of Quality food and drinks along with a very amazing space.

Mahe is a nice place which offers the most amazing food of Goa. The ambience of the place is just beautiful covered up with greeenery all over. The staff is nice and friendly. The rates are quite high but then its totally worth your penny. The seating is comfortable covering around 50 people at a time. Coming to the food, it was delicious and had great taste. The presentation was superb. You may checkout the pictures i took. So i guess no doubts in that. The owner Mr.Mohit is a great host . He took his time out to meet us and tell us about the place and also about each dish we were trying. We had a quite food spread all over our table. Each dish was prepared in a great way to keep the foodie inside us alive. Overall one of the most decent and well managed place of Goa not to be missed at any cost. Cheers to Mohit sir and team.

Nestled in a quaint Portuguese house in south Goa “Mahe” Indeed takes gastronomy to an unprecedented realm. Indulge in unconventional recipes such as Preserved Aubergine Rechaedo served with Poie, Stuffed Morels with street style potato jus , Crispy Okra with pickles, Black eyed beans & Toori ( ridge gourd ) with spiced coconut milk & String hopper just to name a few... For those with a sweet tooth the Moong Dal panacotta is truly underrated and leaves you completely awestruck! Kudos to Chef Dev Rawat who flirts with an array of unorthodox ingredients with utmost panache to create a magical menu. A Paradise for food connoisseurs this place also offers oodles of hospitality as well !! Definitely a must try for foodies who visit GOA !!

I really like the bar area and its high tables. All the cocktails are great classic or the"revisited" versions. I really recommend the beef fry or the one with Kombus jus (want to go back), the aubergine rechaedo, the crispy okra, Sri lankan mutton curry... all a must try.

Our lookout for Coastal food ended when our friends suggested that we try Mahe, so we went here for Lunch. Located right near Mr. Gelato(another Anjuna landmark), the grandeur of the Old Portuguese mansion cannot be missed. When you enter there is a feel of luxury and an age old charm of being in a well done up space usual to the big cities. Their outdoor seating is a comfortable and spacious dining area. the indoors has the charm of French decor with pastel colours and big windows to give natural light. Also they should be open in monsoon as they have indoor space with air conditioning.

We started with cocktails (which were very highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Negroni de Goa is a fantastic drink and would be my recommendations from the regional inspired drinks. Another one that was good was Gimlet, simple yet well presented and well balanced.

The Food was mind blowing. The Kerala beef fry, Cured Mahe Mahe fish and the Aubergine Recheado was splendid, and set us on course for a very interesting evening of hogging delicious food, Very different from the regular fare of coastal cuisine found in goa. For main course my favourite has to be the srilankan mutton curry with Dosa or Parotta and another one which stood out was bheja. Their portions of mains are good to share. For dessert we didn't try their desserts as Mr. Gelato is too tempting to miss out on. Next time Mahe.

Service staff here has a few gems who can speak and recommend dishes to hold a conversation beyond just the daily order taking. Refreshing and much like the Goan culture of dining. A small recommendation would be to add a thali component to make it easier for the ones who cannot decide what to order.

We will be back!!!

Soaked in all of the sea before I departed for college in Bangalore. A very tastefully curated restaurant in Anjuna with a contemporary approach to a classic Portuguese structure, it’s like the perfect blend of modern and authentic, much like everything on Mahe’s menu. We were pleasantly surprised with the Slow Cooked Mackerel with plums, the bones melt in your mouth, need I say more? I’d drive 20kms only for the Shallot Chilly Aioli, also for Pickled Muscles with coconut oil. Winner! The Lobster was a bit dry for my liking, and I’d rather you ask Alex to whip you up something from the bar than go by the menu. Ditch the dining hall for the outdoor seating, the insta worthy garden and lights make up for the Goan heat.

Wow!!! You know the restaurant has something going on absolutely right for them when they give you clean and Distinct flavours with every dish that you order. Sometimes simplicity can be extremely complicated to plate on a dish. And they do exactly that with a Panache. It’s Modern but Delicious...
The service was absolutely fantastic as well.
Well done guys!! Will see you soon again and again and again..........

The newest entrant to the food scene in Anjuna, Goa, Mahe takes coastal cuisine beyond the regular (but much loved) seafood thalis and coconut based curries. The gorgeous renovated Portuguese Bungalow in which Mahe is housed has an exterior that’s painted a shade of charcoal grey, an atypical choice of colour for Goan homes. So at first glance, you know that this restaurant in Anjuna does things unconventionally and with a touch of drama.
The menu spans Konkan-inspired dishes, to luscious Kerela cuisine, Bengali, and even Sri Lankan fare. Timeless recipes have been given a contemporary twist so while the food is familiar to an extent, it is also wildly unique. My favourite dishes included Preserved Aubergine Recheado, Crispy Okra with Pickles, Kerala Beef Fry and the Sri Lankan Mutton Curry.
I wish they had more desserts and can consider being open for lunches too!
If you're looking for a memorable meal, you'll find it here.

Edit (July 2019) - I also tried their new Coastal Plates - which is an upscale version of the humble thali, offered in 3 options, veg, chicken and seafood. The plates are super reasonable for the quality and quantity provided and are priced at Rs 399, 499 and 599 respectively, with a tantalizing mix of curries, dry chutney, idyappams, rice, dal, a veg dish and a silky smooth beetroot chutney (omg yum!).  The fried fish that came along with the Seafood Coastal Plate was definitely the highlight!

Ambiance: with over a capacity spread across indoor and outdoor options and private spaces for groups , the Mahe has a very cozy and warm vibe. The large Portuguese Villa combined with a large bar and garden seating allows one to explore the Restaurant and their boutique store from Jaipur making the experience more than just Modern Coastal Cuisine.

Service: From the time we walked in till we explored the space we had Ashlesha (the hostess) to show us around and tell us about the offerings and the story of Mahe... she also did go all out and help us with understanding the menu and what’s special. While Chef Sandeep took us through his take on Modern Coastal Cuisine and what are his favourites.. very warm experience with the staff and the overall service was splendid.

Food & Drinks Finally when it comes to the Food and Flavours, Mahe steals the show with its specials from making a simple Mackerel into a yummy treat and has so many options to look forward to.
The vegetarians are in for a treat with the Aubergine Racheado and the Tapioca so soft and delightful... The green moong curry also was one of my favourites among the veg options. Mutton, Chicken, Seafood you name it, with the culinary twists and amazing drinks from the Bar (my favourite - Mallu Mai Thai ) one can definitely see themselves visiting again! Count me in!

Now there is one place in Goa where I can keep coming back to for some really mind blowing coastal food with a Modern touch and  it's - Mahé!

Located just around the corner from Orchard Store in the heart of Anjuna it is really easily to find.

Food: We started with Tapioca Bravas & Kerela beef fry and followed it up with Mahe Prawn curry & Chettinad chicken with Ghee Rice and Egg Appams, which continue to haunt my food dreams from time to time.

Drinks: A great selection of their own cocktails and some classic cocktails on the menu. The balance of each drink was wonderful and definitely made me try one too many cocktails.

Ambience/Vibe: The restaurant is set up in this really cute heritage Portugese mansion property with a French decor theme, which complements the region of Mahe perfectly- so vibe gets 10/10 too.

Something for all the ladies: There is a really nice concession store at the property called Kassa, hold on to all your shopping till you visit the space.

All in all its a setup which sets itself apart from most of the properties in Goa with a fitness in their Decor to the food and drinks. Service is staff and very prompt and really enjoy talking to the staff there who are courteous and really engaged in explaining the customers about each dish.

You guys are creating magic, keep it up and see you in couple of months.

Established in a charming Portuguese house with minimalistic interiors and French pastel hues, Mahé is a work of art.
Easy to locate, it’s a stone’s throw away from Cream Choc gelato-Anjuna, with ample parking space a little ahead of the restaurant.
We were greeted by the warm and welcoming host, Mohit who guided us to our table. The menu is curated by Chef Sandeep Sreedharan who is bringing his concept of Modern coastal cuisine to Goa. All his dishes use traditional & local ingredients with a modern and rustic twist.

For cocktails we tried their bestseller, the
“ Mallu Mai Tai” a spicy mix of chilli spiced rum, velvet falernum, Malabar tamarind tincture, fresh lime and pineapple. This tropical inspired cocktail is strong packed with spices and is sure to give you a kick of chilli. We also tried “Sheikh on the level” which was a refreshing concoction of black tea gin, cardamom, brown sugar, egg whites and fresh lemon. The mixologist is surely a magician as both the cocktails were incredible.

For starters the chef recommended some of his favourites:
- Preserved aubergine rechaedo served with poie which soon became our favourite too. Perfectly cooked aubergine generously stuffed with tangy rechaedo masala and accompanied by cream cheese mousse to create the perfect fusion.
- The crispy Tapioca bravas served alongside delicious shallot chilli aioli made for the perfect bar snack and could be paired wonderfully with the cocktails we tried.
- The Slow cooked Mackerel with plums was a gastronomical delight. The fish was cooked to perfection and the plums complemented the fresh mackerel beautifully.

For mains, we decided to try the classic curries of the coastal region. Chicken chettinad accompanied with dosas and Srilankan mutton curry with string hoppers. The Chettinad was aromatic and packed with flavour and succulent pieces of chicken while the srilankan mutton curry was hearty and comforting and went really well with the light and lacy string hoppers.
Lastly, the star of the evening was definitely the Pradhaman Panna cotta. This fusion dessert was light and flavourful and captured the essence of an authentic pradhaman into an Italian panna cotta.

The staff was very polite and courteous and the service was excellent. Will definitely be going back to try more!

Mahé is a restaurant one must surely visit if you are around Anjuna. Their diverse menu is loaded with authentic coastal dishes. To start with, we ordered the Kokam Shrub and for starters - Cured Mahi Mahi. Mahi Mahi is a 3 day cured Mahi fish which is a kind of sushi but tastes nothing like a raw fish. It is served with coriander oil and coconut milk which makes it absolutely delicious. For main course it was Prawns Sukka which is served with one mini dosa and Slow Roasted Pork Ribs which is served with Kanji rice. Along with these, we ordered goan Poie. I don’t want to use long words here, so in short, they were amazing. For dessert we ordered Pradhaman Panna Cotta which is made with moong dal & milk with cardamom sprinklings. It has the consistency of a caramel custard and tastes outstanding. My wife @thefoodiecurls (insta) picked out this gem of a place so a big thanks to her! Definitely Try Mahé - Modern Coastal Cuisine

The decor in the restaurant is well put together which makes it a very comfortable place to dine at. I went there for dinner with the family and we tried out a couple of things on their menu. The chorizo with the poached egg was a little too oily for me personally but the server was kind enough not to charge me for the same. Staff has great patience to take the order as the menu is little complicated and less informative. But the staurts have full knowledge to guide and order to best suitability. Arajit Tikadar is best at his job. We tried veg/ non veg both. Dishes have their own versatility over flavours. Must try is pradhaman panna cotta from desserts section. Preserved aubergine is also very tasty. Crispy okra is overated. ...... Also loved the mushroom sukka. Inspirte the great food, that still wasn't the best thing that happened to us at Mahe. The best was getting introduced to their hostess Taanya. She went above and beyond with her "hosting". Gave us enough recommendations for a 2 week trip. All of them have been great recommendations too. Not sure if this Mahes mandate for her or she is just nice, but she really sorted our trip out😅 So ya definitely recommend visiting Mahe, if not for the amazing food, atleast for Taanya's recommendations.

One-stop solution for all cravings Coastal. Appams, Porottas, Balchao, Pradhaman- If any of these words made your heart skip a beat then you should make your way to this spectacular restaurant in Anjuna. First things first (Obviously, FOOD)- For appetizers, I tried their chicken 65, Prawn Balchao and Cured Mahi Mahi fish with Coriander Oil and kondattam. Each one of them were absolute stunners in their own way. If you have tried the Pradhaman payasam before you will know what this pannacotta is all about.  It’s not every day that you see a fine dining restaurant that’s willing to take on South Indian food. Mahe adds a sensational twist to dishes that most people in the southern part of India would recognize and love. I thoroughly enjoyed everything that was put on the table. Visit recommended! :)

Food: We ordered - Prawns balchao: Prawns were juicy and succulent. Must try: Prawns balchao, chicken wings, crispy okra, Chicken chettinad with Dosa, Pradhaman Panna Cotta Service: Great service. Attentive staff. Cost: Most of the items are in range of 350 to 450 bucks.

It was one of the few places in Goa where the food was so good we forgot to take photos and just tucked in!
