I recently dined at a charming restaurant in North Goa, tucked away from the bustling streets and traffic. The serene ambiance, coupled with spacious seating, provided a peaceful dining experience. The staff were exceptionally polite, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, and the food surpassed expectations. Each dish was expertly crafted, and the flavors were a true delight for the taste buds. The live music added a wonderful touch, enhancing the dining experience. This hidden gem is perfect for those seeking a tranquil escape with good food and a touch of live entertainment. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to unwind in a peaceful setting in North Goa.

Maai- Inspired food is fusion of Goan and Portuguese cuisine. The restaurant is housed in an old Portuguese style house and is very beautifully utilised to match the theme. We tried the chilly chorizo, mutton and edmame humus which was different from regular hummus served with Poie ( bread) instead of pita bread. Liked the different adaptation. The ambience is very beautiful, slow paced with live music which uplifts the experience. We tried several cocktails which were customised and beautifully decorated, served with love by the bartender. Overall experience was great for a nice cool evening in Goa!

This place is a must visit! The ambience is very nice and aesthetic! All their cocktails tasted really good and we were also given complimentary sangrias. The Edamame hummus with ‘poi’ was the perfect veg starter. The Beetroot Galette was also nice. For main course we had the avocado hummus wrap, mushroom risotto and red sauce pasta. Would highly recommend all!

It’s a beautifully set up restaurant in the heart of Assagao. The ambiance is breathtaking, and for photo lovers, you would be confused as to which spot to select for your posing. I think they can improve on the taste of the food, although the quality is fantastic. The food is quite stomach filling, and we directly skipped to desserts after starters. The dark chocolate & cherry soufflé is a must try, I was skeptical about the combination, but when I put it in my mouth along with the gelato, it was scrumptious at every bite. Great service!

Such a great venue on the streets of Assagao. We here here on 2nd October which was a dry day, however the tantalizing food made it up for all the drinks we missed. I shall definitely visit to try out their cocktails!!

Beautiful heritage property. The staff is very welcoming. We had a 5 course family dinner to celebrate a birthday It was well spaced and we had a very enjoyable and relaxed evening. The serra dura cake with pistachio gelato birthday cake was served with birthday music. Thank you Maai

Absolutely stunning place, with some great food, great cocktails, great ambience, great staff. Ignore the geniuses in the reviews who say the building is old, heritage buildings don't have fresh paint and shiny walls. It's a scenic place, perfect for both peaceful dates or a bunch of friends out for a hearty meal.

One of the best restaurants in Goa. We came here in a big group to have lunch. The place is an old Portuguese home converted into a modern fine dine restaurant. It is tastefully decorated, has a great outdoor venue and nice rooms where large groups can enjoy a meal in private. The staff was well trained and attentive. We ordered the edamame humus, crispy fried prawns, mutton pepper fry, two giant crabs cooked two different ways, and a host of other dishes. Almost everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious.

Oh it’s beautiful, I went there on a date in monsoon and from the start the gatekeeper gave us umbrellas made sure we don’t get wet. We ordered grilled cottage paneer steak and other things few cocktails and everything was really good the taste was on point. The vibe is really nice for any kind and size of group to enjoy.

The whole setup is built on an existing property with a rustic theme, giving it a classic Goa vibe. Both, the indoor and outdoor setup are beautiful. The food in terms of flavour and presentation really compliments the overall restaurant vibe. While the ambience really calls for a group visit, it definitely is a place where one can enjoy alone. Additionally, this can easily be considered as one of the most instagram friendly spots in the whole Goa.

Absolutely recommend this place. Food was EXCEPTIONAL. Beyond what we ever thought it would be since the location is on a comparatively quiet road. But we were really pleasantly surprised. The Serra Dura cheesecake is definitely a must try!

We have been to Maai twice for lunch. Absolutely love the place. It’s an old Portuguese bungalow converted into a spacious and tastefully done restaurant. We loved the clamps there…ordered them twice as the dish was excellent. Service is warm and quick. It’s got a relaxed vibe on the Main Street of Assagao.

Sangria was top notch. The jumbo prawns and fish curry were great too. We found the chef's signature chicken roll a bit spicy and oily. Overall gr8 place. Having dinner in the garden has its own charm. The place is tastefully done!

Be ready to be enthralled by the beauty of this place from the minute you enter here till you leave💫 Maai in Assagao is located in a heritage bunglow and serves some really good food. The focus is mainly on Portuguese inspired food along with modern Goan cuisine. The restaurant features a well equipped bar along with spacious seating, both indoors as well as outdoors & A/c as well as non A/c along with live music and a simple yet classy ambience. We tried a couple of dishes and most of them were great but a special mention of the ‘Inspired Goan curry’ which has a slight resemblance to the Goan king fish fish curry but instead of plain rice they serve it along with a beautiful coconut rice that is just finger licking good🤤 We also loved the rawa fried fish fingers & tiger prawns rubbed with recheado but their spicy chicken skewers would certainly do much better in taste. Speaking about the desserts, we tasted the serra durra cheese cake served with pistachio gelato🤤 And a cherry & dark chocolate souffle served with madagascar vanilla gelato. The hot dark chocolate souffle comes with a cherry & berry compote which just melts in the mouth😋 @maaigoa serving Portuguese inspired food 📍Bouta Waddo, Assagao ⏱️12.30pm-1.20am 🅿️Available 💸Cash/card accepted 🛖Private room for dining available. 🤑Cost for two- Approx 2000 for two. 🎶Live music in evenings 🍽️Brunches on sundays
