A localite suggested me to visit this place for the best Ice Cream. As first I thought, what could be ‘best’ in ice cream. Duh! It’s just an ice cream.’ But OH MY GOD. Yes, it is indeed the best ice cream I have ever had, anywhere. Visit is yourself and savour the flavours. The owner is too sweet and gave us a few discount coupons which we used within the next two days!

Gelato factory has amazing gelatos. they have so many flavours. It's an authenticated Italian outlet at Pondy. Ambience is super cute and cosy. Once in Pondy, do check this place out.
Nice place just near the auroville bakery. Staff is courteous with cute decor. Apart from ice creams, sandwiches are nice as well. Definitely one can try out this place.
While I had been to the outlet within the city and was unimpressed, the Auroville outlet served the best sorbet I have eaten in my life! Yes, better than any other sorbet and came quite close to the gelato I ate in Italy.
We tried out the pineapple ginger sorbet (heaven!) And coconut gelato. Also ordered omlette and watermelon juice.
The sorbet was served in a beautiful waffle cone and pineapple and ginger make a brilliant combo. All other flavours which we tried were spot on as well, had a tough time deciding.

I loved the ambience of Gelato factory. Friendly hosts, some great collection of books and collectibles make it and interesting place. Coming to the ice creams, they were really creamy and delicious.A rich plum cake would go very nicely with the scoop if ice cream.
You can not - should not leave Auroville /Pondicherry without trying their Guava and Organic chocolate ice creams. It's the best in the town and the staff is super friendly and hospitable :)

A beautiful corner outlet in the corner of the street, beautiful and a lot varieties of ice cream flavors. Good hospitality and response. A good place to chill, quick bite. One of the best ice cream outlet in town
The place has this aura of ice cream in it that justs makes you want to have a scoop. They have a good range of ice cream. I tasted Mint Chocolate and Kiwi. Both gave a real taste. Good experience.
Had the cookies and cream, the white truffle and the vanilla. All of them were delicious! Staff is friendly and service prompt. Definitely visiting again!

While exploring streets around this place caught the attention of us. We stepped in n place was so clean as its mrg time no crowd was Der, we ordered croissant and hazelnut ice cream. Both taste really good. Croissant was really soft and freshly made. Would like to visit again to try other flavours...

Tucked around the road corner of Kuyilapalayam village in auroville, this gelateria was a delightful discovery when we were in auroville the last time.
We've been here a couple of times since then, it's always been a joy hanging out here.
They serve fresh fruit sorbet and gelatos. All freshly made in small batches. Absolutely flavorful and perfect for a summer afternoon with the family.
Love the pastel colors of wall and minimalist white chair and decor. Such a delight being here. I strongly recommend a visit to this place if you're around pondicherry / auroville.
Just visited this place last weekend had some gelato ice creams. Pretty good dessert at a good price the place is not too much crowded in morning. A good place to visit if you like ice creams.
most delicious gelato ever! tried the hazelnut, pomegranate & chocolate gelato. Each one was so good that it was difficult to choose the final order! They claim to have really low fat & gelato is made freshly in small batches. The Gelato was so light to eat & very rich in flavor. Cute little cafe with options of savouries as well. Staff is also very humble.

They serve a good range of gelatos at VFM prices. We tried the Strawberry sorbetto which was amazing. Tasted fresh and pure. Also tried the Zabione which is made of wine. Could appreciate the alcohol kick in it but it was a little too sweet for my liking.

This place has the very best gelato I've ever had in India! No wonder, on enquiring, I met the owner who is an Italian!!! He and his partner seemed very passionate about the process by which they make their Small lot Artisanal, low fat gelato. Please read their placard on how Gelato is different from the Regular Ice Cream that is sold in the market...

That movie poster for Eat, Pray, Love with Julia Roberts unashamedly enjoying her pistachio gelato at nine in the morning in Rome, was pretty much in line with my (delicious) experience with this Italian treat. Colorful tubs of homemade sorbet and gelato are popping up in all the fancy eateries in Pondicherry, which is all to the good! And my favorite of all these must be the Gelato Factory's appealing gelateria/cafe sited bang on the Auroville highway, ensuring that the cravings hit right when you can satisfy them. Despite the name, the place has a very rustic, homegrown feel to it, and owners front their restaurant and service customers with a smile. Such cafés are ubiquitous in Auroville, but this place has air-conditioning and free WiFi, making it the perfect hangout in summers with your laptop and a scoop of fresh gelato.

Awesome place for ice cream! We had the tiramisu and the yogurt and mango flavour ice cream. The tiramisu was excellent. The yogurt flavour was okay. Not a very pocket friendly place for ice cream.
I scream Ice Cream..!! Visited their new outlet on mission street today. The restaurant is located in the most happening place of the city. They serve some 20 varieties of gelato ice cream. I tried Tiramisu and orange yogurt. Flavours locked in every scoop...! Very delicious, fresh and flavoursome.
And yes I was tempted to visit again! In my 2nd visit they surprised me with new items sandwiches and salads added to menu. I tried their grilled veggies and cheese salad. The taste was a perfect blend of olive oil, herbs and veggies. Loved it.
It was a great and pleasant place. So the first time I tasted gelato ice cream which was really good. Must try it. The ingredients were high quality. Hygiene one give a try.

Oh my! The vegan flavours are the best! I loved the Orange chocolate and vegan hazelnut flavours that I sampled. My husband tried the vegan coffee and that was pretty great too.
Their waffle cones are vegan as well and they won an award for Best Vegan Food Awards, 2020.
A definite must-visit spot for vegans in Auroville.

Delicious homemade ice creams + excellent teas. The white one is a blend to do your own Chaï. You just have to buy the milk. Very nice place with AC and children space.
At Gelato Factory, I was pleasantly taken aback by the delightful vegan coffee smoothie and the vegan coffee gelato made from cashew milk.
It's impressive how authentic and delicious it tasted. Notably, one of their flavors has even bagged the 'Best Vegan' award from PETA.
For vegans and vegetarians, this place is a must-visit for its vegan delicacies. If they were to introduce some vegan edibles to their menu, it would elevate the experience even further!"

Loved the place. It’s quaint, cute & so colourful, with a lot of seating options. They have a super cute kids’ corner as well. I was amazed by the varieties they had and was so tempted to try everything. They have vegan gelato options as well. My daughter had the classic vanilla while I opted for Ancient Rome. Definitely visiting again before we leave Pondicherry.
You know that you are at a great place when you start planning your next visit whilst sitting there. This quaint Gelato place on the main road gets everything from the taste to their (warm hearted) hospitality just right. Come here if you love Gelato. If you don't know the difference between ice cream and Gelato, you'll learn. 😀
Gelato factory is a very good ice cream parlor also serving snacks. They have a good presence in pondicherry. They also have outlets in Chennai. The items they serve are creamy, vegan and fruit scoops. The kitchen is very hygienic and modern. They have ice creams for takeaway parcel. The have been selected as the best vegan food ice cream. The flavors are the key here, they have a wonderful variety of ice cream flavors.
This is my favourite gelato shop in all of India. Handmade gelato - so many flavours made fresh each day. Lots of vegan options. Coffees are really good too. Kid friendly with a lovely indoor, AC play area. Staff are attentive and helpful. This shop in Auroville is the best because the owners of the company are there but all the other locations are good too, just not as much selection. Highly recommended 👍🏼
Wonderful service and selections! Some things dont have labels so that was a bit frustrating. Had the vegan coffee before i knew there was one with real milk. Sadly the vegan one tasted fresher. Not BETTER, but definitely seemed fresher. It was so good i went back for another scoop!❤️ (in the picture is the tiramisu flavor 😁😍)
Update: went back for number THREE!! I was very torn between the pineapple ginger and the pomegranate… i chose pomegranate… number 2 was stratacella … flavor was straight out of rome!❤️ texture was not quite right but the flavor was 100% on point! What a nice find in india!❤️
a Rather easy to miss shop tucked away amidst greenery of the trellis, the Gelato factory is an impressive space complete with games for children, some books and well laid out tables.
the place offers a good selection of vegan and normal ice cream options and allows for tasting before one buys as well.

Being a vegan, finding so many flavours of vegan ice cream was a gift. They have been awarded the best flavour for their hazelnut variant. Must visit place and one will not be disappointed
