We followed the reviews we found here about this place and were not disappointed. The falafel platter is THE thing to order here, because their hummus is just damn delicious. With the assortment of grilled and pickled vegetables, and a side of homemade bread, this was a delicious meal. Too much for one person, I must add. Even the falafels tasted surprisingly authentic. I wish I could buy their hummus bottled, it's so good.
The place just screams Mediterranean! Amazing display of art and a lovely ambience. The Fresh Lime and Mint Soda is a must try. Would have been amazing had they accepted Cards or any sort of online payment but no complaints as far food is concerned. Pretty interesting choices of food to pick from! Real Nice. 💙
The place is in middle of nowhere but so peaceful and beautiful .... perfect place to spend an afternoon reading .... we only had the chocolate mousse and it was perfect so smooth and light ....it’s a must visit place ❤️❤️
The mezze platter is authentic and truly decadent. The hummus is delectable and falafels are too good to miss!
They also serve some yummy cheesecake and dessert of the day, so do ask what the special is, for the day.
Also a fan of their veggie omlettes.
Cross my heart and hope to die; this place serves the best Falafels in the country. A Falafel platter or the Falafel Pita is sure to set you right till dinner. Make sure to get there before 2 pm, because chances are that all the good stuff would have run out by then. The desserts are delicious as well, especially the Chocolate Mousse. Also note that this place closes by 4 pm, so snacking is not an option either. If you are in Auroville, you simply cannot miss eating at Well Cafe.
Firstly, the food is insanely good. It is simple yet amazing. The café specialises in Mediterranian cuisine with lots of hummus, falafel, salads and more. The options are limited and the food is prepared fresh by the local women.
Secondly, the ambience is amazing. An open garden café with random chairs strewn under a thick canopy of trees whose trunks are covered in colourful sarees. You will find crafts made from recycled paper hanging from above. Chirping birds, a dog or two, and a few really colourful insects (we did not know God made these, this colourful too) are your company. But don’t let this worry you, sometimes, such an ambience can do wonders!
Well cafe is a lovely eatery, with a beautiful, out-door seating, in a calm, green backdrop. It serves vegan food and the cuisine is largely Mediterranean. I happened to visit Well cafe for an event, and the dinner was preceded by dance. The place holds beautiful events that you must keep track of, if you are in Auroville for longer duration. For my dinner, I had falafel, hummus and pita, and chai, and everything was as fresh as it can get!
Had a great meal experience! Very authentic middle eastern cuisine. Hummus as good as it gets. Perfect Pittas! Lovely workers (with good working conditions). Has a upcycling studio and shop, super eco friendly. Deep in the forest with calm environment. Highly recommeded!
A piece of heaven in the middle of nowhere. The cheesecake was delicious. Since we visited the place early in the morning , we had limited options from the menu. The ambience is wonderful and place looks like an artist's paradise

One of my absolute favorite eateries from Auroville and super close to the Auroville Earth Institute, where we were placed, was this small little outdoor cafe that serves Mediterranean/Lebanese cuisine.
After roughly a five minute walk along a winding path from the main road, through the trees, you arrive at a clearing which is - Well Cafe.
The ambiance here is the wilderness, because there is nothing much except a big, blue plastic overhead shade and a couple of plastic chairs and tables. Run by a bunch of local women, the food here is orgasmic good!
If you love a good Hummus and Pita combination or fancy a healthy albeit super tasty salad for a meal, this is the place to be! Definitely not a place you would want to miss out on! You're sure to start loving hummus after you try this one out.

Awesome food! I love the tofu bagautte, falafel and salad. They make brilliant hummus. The ambience is lovely. And the staff are really kind. I am addicted to this place :) they have brilliant display of handmade recycled paper products that one can shop after eating ;)
A simple cafe with probably the best Mediterranean food you'd get in Pondicherry. Out in the middle of nowhere if you're not staying in Auroville. The food is excellent. If you're here, go there with a big group, empty bellies and order everything and try them all. Warning for those scared of dogs, there's a huge friendly dog at the spot. One huge con: the price. Too expensive in Indian standards but probably worth the taste.
The food is simple but a mix of différent cuisines served on a nice Terrace.
Very good experience for me. It was a carnival night with limited people allowed for the light music and DJ night. Vegan food was good to try. The route from the ECR to that location was pathetic in the night. No signal so there was no GPS to guide . Better download the Google map for that location before the road off from ECR.

A cafe situated in the middle of nowhere! More than the food, the experience of finding a cafe at such a location is something unusual. The ambience is just basic and the menu is limited. We had a falafel in pita and it tasted good. The staff were extremely friendly. Free wifi available. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Lovely place for a getaway... Completely run and managed by women. Great initiative to contribute to the community. Food was awesome you would never expect international cuisine in such a place. Must visit.
