Ambience isn't the best, but good, cheap food that they make from scratch in front of you. Overall, an underrated place that is worth a shot if you're on a budget.
Best place to chill out with friends. Chocolate dosa and parotta with chicken curry will be good. Outdoor sitting with small lights and Raja Sir’s songs will make the place romantic. Avoid juices here as it will not be good. If you are a ambivert, you must surely try this place.
They got the most different style dosa. Egg dosa and tea at dinesh is just a perfect start. They got dinning open under trees. Price is economic and value for money.
A small eatery in the middle of wilderness.. I could never imagine I would be in for a surprising treat.. We went to this place as it was late in the night (by Auroville standards) and we'll not find any other place open.. We ordered a fried fish, veg biriyani, parotta with curry and chicken curry.. The food was spicy and yum..
The place is run by the family of the local villager.. The location is lovely and prices are low.. The seating is basic and some space is under the trees in the open.. Must give it a try if you are around these parts..
Very economical and budget friendly restaurant in Auroville.
I really liked Mushroom Manchurian so it's a must try.
Self service restaurant.
Food quantity and quality both are up to the mark compared with the price.
Very spacious dine-in area along ample parking space.
If searching for a pocket friendly option in Auroville, mark this place in your bucket list.
This is, hands down, the best place to have dosa and idlis. They have affordable prices and apart from the idli and dosa itself being quite tasty and always freshly made, they do the best chutneys and sambar. Really amazing and delicious chutneys!
The chocolate dosa is also my favorite dessert in Auroville, and which I more often than not feel tempted to indulge. The best thing is that everything I have mentioned is vegan and no other restaurant in the region can compare to their quality.
For snack, the gobi 65 is on top of my list. They also serve south Indian meals for lunch which are quite complete to get through the day. And to refresh yourself at anytime of the day, their pineapple mint juice is my favorite.
For dinner, whenever I feel really hungry and need something more filling than a dosa, I will have their veg fried rice or veg noodles which are always so generously portioned. If you get lucky, they sometimes make a veg curry or chana masala with chapatti which I really love, but would be thrilled if they do them more often. For non-vegan the curry options in that sense are much wider and they often have fresh fish and prawns too. Everything is always fresh-made and they actually don't take much time. All Currys come with chapatti, dosa or rice.
The women that work there are amazing and really hard workers. They also have an extended schedule meaning that they usually close around 10pm and work throughout the whole week which is great. It is also well located, in between Auroville's entry and close by the Solar Kitchen round about.
The out space is quite spaceous to accommodate big crowds and it is surrounded by nature, but there is also a inside space to have a more private conversation and to protect yourselves during the raining seasons, with proper wooden tables and comfortable chairs. It is roomy yet cozy. Despite being one of the oldest restaurants in and around Auroville, they keep renovating it. Definitely a must to visit! #Recommended
Btw, there is also a small shop besides the restaurant where you can get ice-creams, candies, chips, biscuits, cigarettes, sodas and more. It is very convenient because their prices are the same prices as on the villages while everywhere else in Auroville is quite expensive.
After trying many , this was the BEST & Economical Hotel available at that area. Food quality was above average. It's self service restaurant. People managing this place were ALWAYS smiling , neat & clean. Coffee & Veg / Nonveg Combos are recommended. We had our food for five days at this wonderful place. Opposite side , also one hotel is there , you are having facility to get similar items , by paying DOUBLE the cost ! Choice is yours !!
Nice place to spend time with friends, but food quality is not that much good as per what they charge.
Its a self serving restraunt . Takes a lot of time for orders . Atmosphere is good for relaxing and have a meal . I ordered masala dosa , prawn fried rice and a glass of Lassi . Lassi was just a namesake Lassi , other things were good .

If you are looking for cheap eatery place and with good ambience. You can smoke here without any interruption and if you are looking for some company, its an ideal place. Food is clean and good. Washroom facility is not that good. There is not much indoor sitting so during rains the place is wet and it will be hard for you to get a place to sit. Its usually crowded during the evenings and an ideal place for youngsters in auroville.
A night time place to enjoy with friends and couples with a light of trees looking colourful and food also good Yes! I LOVE IT 💖
Amazing place to taste the local delicacies, the owner was amazing guy his suggested pomfret fish was amazing
Find this place was a blessing in disguise for us. And we loved it the very moment we stepped in. Our host dinesh was amazing, he keeps everything very neatly and organised. Rooms are spacious, neat and clean and we always got good comfortable sleep. They place has its own forest in the backyard which is good trek in itself with lots of tree caves to go hiding and sleeping. They even had a art center in the place where they do lot of things with music and dancing regularly. I made the most of this place by spinning poi.
Their cafe outside on the road is open till 10:30 and always serving some delicious home cooked food. I loved there simple idli dosa and fish fry.
Will definitely go back again next time. Thanks Dinish for being a wonderful host.
A wonderful restaurant with friendly service and nominal price. Has a sufficient variety in the menu as well. We had our snack meal here on a cycling trail as it falls on it. Wonderful place to go any time of the day.
Squid fry and prawn curry were amazing. Juices are nice and refreshing. Very accommodating and friendly anna. He helped me in getting some petrol while I my scooty tank got empty.
Open most of the day. Find youngsters chilling at the tables, with tea and sutta. Food, snacks and juices available. Do not miss.
