When u visit goa, Panaji one outlet u need to feast in is Uday Ahar Graha, located in the city market it is hard to find, but is quite a hidden gem.
We had kingfish thali which was so well made with fried surmai and rice a treat for every foodie. We ordered mackerel fry and prawns fry both deep-fried in Rawa and again an absolute delight.
What worth mentioning here is their prices which I wonder are so moderate to go with their food and their happy staff giving such positive vibes.

It's a little nondescript place, located close to the Panjim Jetty and Market. The crowds milling around was what caught my attention years ago. I've been an ardent fan of this little blockbuster ever since. The fish is super fresh and soooo good. Their specialty's the prawn biryani and it's lovely.
Simple, wholesome food that wouldn't put a dent in your wallet.
Tried the king fish thali and was delicious.
We also tried prawns biryani. Rice was good but the prawns inside had no flavor. Were like just blanched and added to the rice.
This place is known for authentic Goan food and indeed food quality is so good. Me and my friend tried fish thali and every dish in thali was so tasty. Staff and owner is also very friendly, as me and my friend are chapati person so the owner offered us chapati as well with fish thali.
Best budget friendly place in Panjim with low price and great taste. Place is small so sometimes you have to wait. Try Surmai fry and Prawns Biryani

I had the best sea food specially prawns in this hotel. The prices are reasonable and the food is scrumptious. I stayed in Panaji for 2 days and visited this place twice, loved the sea food.

Uday Ahar is your typical hole in the wall restaurant. I have been going to this place for years now, and the food is as brilliant as always. Fish curry rice thali here is so flavourful and such a value for money pricing. Even the more expensive kingfish thali is priced lower than other famous places in the Panaji area. Being the restaurant that it is, the ambience is ok for a quick in and quick out type meal. But the food is absolute worth it. Post our current worldwide situation, i went in for a take away order and the flavours were just the same. Very polite people running this restaurant; if not dine-in I definitely recommend at least get take out from here.
Last Eight years have been dining at this place in my every Panjim visit. Awesome is the simplest way to describe the food.
