Food at The Lantern was amazing, it was my mother's birthday and they celebrated it with a grand start , all thanks to Naman and Nancy for making it all possible in short period of time
I had dinner with my girlfriend, the food was absolutely wonderful from preparation to presentation, very pleasing and a great value for the price. In addition to the nice meal the staff especially Ann, tengchina and manager(the lady) are very friendly and efficient. You can be sure to enjoy this place. We had the tasting menu. Everything was exquisite.
Lunch at The Lantern was an amazing culinary experience. The Asian themed menu had delicious items, and I had the vegetable shanghai, spring rolls, truffle edamame pouch and lung fung soup. Having moved to Bengaluru from Edinburgh recently, this was my first lunch at the Ritz and my companions and I loved the food - the yummy choco lava cake and parfait dessert deserves more than one round! The staff was exceptional, polite and the lady manager (Ananya?) helped us pick out great dishes from the menu - I will definitely be going back with my friends and recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely day out.
Lovely prawn momos. Their dim sum nights are definitely worth a visit.
Lantern is a must try for Chinese food lovers and perfect place for date night! The ambience is very classy and the food is just delicious! For veg lovers Edamame wrap is a must try. Veg Shanghai dimsums, chicken shanghai dim sums were really tasty aswell. For the mains we ordered fresh and tasty gravy with schezwan noodles. It is one of the best Chinese restaurants in Bangalore. Even though it’s on the expensive side, it’s totally worth it!

Been to the Ritz Carlton many times. Had been to the lantern once maybe in 2017 for a group lunch- from which I had to pull out after a few drinks... Last dining was in 2018 Dec- in the basement banquet hall, on account of a Steinway highend Piano launch ..
This time it was to be a family dining. And that it was- Calm opulent ambiance of an interior impresses me. That's what Lantern was- peaceful. Booking and arrival was all smooth on this 15th Aug. Courteous staff!
Pre planned, we ordered a good number of steamed and fried wantons ( pork, prawn, lobster) and each one of those were authentic, tasty and delightful. I could sense the quality of the ingredients.. My only grouse -- well 4 dumplings per dish of say 500-600 bucks is not quite fair quantity wise - fellas- am sure you can add another 1-2 pieces and then its a win win all the way.
Had to skip drinks as I was driving - that was another grouse :( But yes the option was there and I welcomed it.
For main course went for the sweet and sour pork- wonderful rendition. And Chicken noodles The noodles kind of tasted bit local but I was willing to let it slide as the sweet and sour pork kept me content. THis dish had reasonable portion.
On special prior, but open request- they also didn't fail to stump us with the team coming up with a big chocolate hazel nut mousse birthday cake for the birthday gal.. Now that's what I call delightful- thanks to all of yo. at Lantern- .... And yes, it was only fair that we honor their kind and thoughtful gesture by sharing the cake with them.
All in all excellent experience . Next time I seek better portions in dim sums :) I am a hearty eater :) Keep it up Lantern!!!
Well lets just start with..say you had a crazy week full with sleepless nights, on the toes work schedules and so on.. you definitely dont want to hog on spicy heavy food.. at the same time, the inclination is towards nice, mild and tasty food.. I spoke to the cheff and explained what sort of Mutton my tummy demanded and what sort of light uttapam / appam I was craving for..
Cheff made an amazing non spicy mutton dry dish with those uttapams.. He also served the regular Korma thingi with food. The combo was so tasty :)
The behaviour of the staff was humble and impeccable.
I had a very satisfying night at the place and will definitely come again!
Loved it here..
Cheers,
Foodie...
Had been avoiding Ritz Carlton because of how average the Market was, but the Lantern is just fabulous!
Great food, ambience and service! (Get outdoor seating if you can)
Best dim sums in town, hands down!
The best Chinese food over had was here.. the dim sum, jasmine fried rice and the sauted beans, all of it was made to perfection. We had been there on a weekday, and were to only guests at the restaurant.
The Lantern is by far the best food i’ve had in the this genre, the ambience of the place is quite mysterious & makes you want to seek for more. The staff is polite & quite attentive to one’s need. We called for a few things on their menu such as the soup , dimsums , Prawns , Burnt garlic rice & Kung Bao Chicken. Everything that we ordered was just really tasty & authentic to it’s flavours.
Would definitely come back again.
Keep it up !
A 5 star restaurant ! The decor is mind blowing and artistic with colourful glass pieces.
The hospitality and attention are bang on.
The restaurant's main specialty is dimsums. Tried the Pork & prawn Shuimai and Veg Lung Fung Soup. Loved it absolutely. Also tried tried the BBQ Meat Cha Siew - honey roasted chicken, the meat was a little dry, but the taste was amazing.
A little higher side on the pocket pinch, but definitely worth the try for any dimsum lover!
Cheers!
The first thing that strikes you is how the decor has been perfectly themed to the cuisine being served. Authentic Asian food with lots of options for vegetarians. The alcohol options include a full bar, although I’ve only had beer during my few visits. The food is served fairly quickly and the service is really good. A special mention to the team for going the extra mile to make my 2 year old niece have a great meal.
Outstanding customer service by Naman Verma!!! He really went the extra mile to make our luncheon experience memorable! Such customer service makes you a definite repeat customer! Also kudos to the Lantern Chefs for the excellent quality of the food! Highly recommend the Lantern!!!
The food is outstanding! Everything we tried from the menu was awesome! The price is high- but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back for the ambience and service.
It was great experience to visit this place.
Even if I expressed my feeling in words it wouldn't suffice.
Environment is very pleasant and calming that rejuvenated my soul.
What a best employees are working there. I can say they are well experts in their areas.
I would love to thanks to Saloni, Vijay and Agrajyoti. Very polite and decent people they are.
They were keep provided assistance until guest will realize its very utmost serviced provided by them. They are maintaining the reputation and quality of the Ritz-Carlton.
Whatever I heard about Malaysian and Thai food qualities from others. That was best I had amongst india's hotels.
Thank you Chef Kevin and David for this.
Good luck and Cheer to everyone.
Thanks
Naveen Sharma.
I loved the authenticity of this restaurant, we ordered a variety of dimsums, all of them were awesome. The mildness of the stuffing and the transparent, soft and smooth skin of dimsum was particularly explicit in the cooking style. I loved the lobster dim sum the most. That was recommended by the hostess Saloni in here. Saloni was just amazing in taking care of all our needs and when we complimented the dimsum she even gave us a chance to meet the head chef from Malaysia. The hospitality she provided was beyond wondrous, i think thats what differentiates a 5star from the normalcy. It was a great experience overall, thanks to Saloni, the Malaysian chef and the team.
The food items were really tasty and true to their Asian origin. The dim sums were tasty the noodles and chicken dishes were flavorful and the cocktails were nice too.
I love this place and really want to visit again. Great ambiance, great staff, great food.

The experience at The Lantern was perfect. Courteous staff, beautiful ambience and food on point. Ankita greeted us at the entrance and also helped us in ordering the best food on the menu. We were extremely satisfied with the hospitality extended to us by her. Great place. Will definitely visit again!
5 star hotel with a 5 star restaurant ! The decor of Ritz is mind blowing and very artistic. Lantern is situated in a slightly different building than the main one, inside the complex. The restaurant is in the basement floor and has a nicely done decor with colourful glass pieces.
As always, the hospitality and attention are bang on. The restaurant's main specialty is dimsums. There are so many different types ! We had assorted sea food dimsums and the chicken shumai. The seafood one had a green outer layer and tasted fine. The chicken one was spectacular ! We loved it absolutely as it was very succulent and had a great flavour in the chicken. The skin was thin too. The third one we ordered was chicken and green tea xiao long bao. It's skin was thicker than usual and it's supposed to have a soup in the middle that you puncture and have at first. One of them was already punctured and leaking and the soup wasn't very warm. The flavours were good but nothing to write home about.
The dimsum dishes have 3 pieces each and are a little steep priced but the chicken shumai was very good and made it worth it.
In main course we had vegetable fried rice and a barbecue sauce chicken main course. The quanity was sufficient for 3 people. We liked it so much, had it quickly and didn't take a picture :-)
As dessert we ordered for chilled coconut pudding with fresh fruit and the chef was kind enough to get us lemongrass ice-cream and coconut ice-cream. All 3 were very good. The pudding was very soft and melting in the mouth with a soft and tender coconut flavour. The lemongrass ice cream was absolutely great ! We loved having it. Lemongrass brought through a delicious freshness and the flavour was strong too. None of the desserts was too sweet, which was a rarity but was a welcome change.
All in all, dimsums are steeply priced and quanity is less but some of them are really good. Main course and dessert are good and value for money.
The place lives upto its name, Beautiful ambience, smiling faces, hospitable ambience a perfect mix for a good experience. Went for a lunch on the weekend and was impressed with the food quality , presentations and service. The dimsums are great and in variety. The food leaves a mouth full of flavours. Highly recommended.

Located at the Ritz-Carlton, this is again a beautiful restaurant to spend some time with closed ones. They have both outdoor and indoor, private or open ambiance as you would like to choose. I had visited this place with my wife on our anniversary and it will be a night well remembered. The staff gave us the privacy we needed while also keeping in mind to attend us when we needed her. We had order a 3 course meal and couple of drinks. I enjoyed a classic Dry Martini, my all time favorite and my wife ordered some Red Wine. For starters we ordered veg Spring Rolls and Pork & Prawn Open Dumplings. We loved them and absolutely refuse to share. lol. In main course, we ordered Burnt Garlic Fried Rice & the Lantern special Red and White Fried Rice. The quantity was just about enough to serve one person. For dessert we ordered a Cinnamon Chocolate Cake with Mango Mint Parfait, a local favorite as we were told. But to be honest i wasn't a big fan of it, tasted a little to bland for me. To sum it up, we had a perfect romantic dinner night together and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite evening with their closed ones.
Went there for a team dinner. A very upscale eatery with tasty food.
Food : 4.5/5 The food items were really tasty and true to their Asian origin. The dim sums were tasty the noodles and chicken dishes were flavorful and the cocktails were nice too.
Service : 3.5/5 The service was slow and can be definitely improved.
Ambiance : 3.5/5 While the decorations were very nice, the place felt too cramped for a fine dining restaurant in India. They did not have any proper arrangement to sit a group and it was impossible to move once you are seated.
Price : 3.5/5 The prices are on the higher side keeping true to its upscale nature.
Had been to Lantern last evening with Family. Loved the ambience. Service was great. One should try the dimsums for sure. Praveen was a great help in guiding us through the menu and service.

Great ambience, great staff, great food. Takes you to another world! We were mostly busy relishing each dish so haven’t taken photos of other dishes we ordered.
Courteous staff, beautiful ambiance, and best dimsums. Our anniversary was made special with complimentary dessert. Food was not extraordinary but when you are served with so much of attention, its kind of exciting.
Long pending review for one of the most memorable evenings....my anniversary!!
We had booked the table in advance and despite of reaching on time, was late to the restaurant as had to keep searching for it all around the hotel. Found it at last located away from the main hotel building, in the basement.
The interior is beautifully decorated with varied types of comfortable seating arrangement...colorful and had an earthy touch to the whole interior...loved it.
They have an elaborate menu and in order to have a taste of as much options as possible, we decided to go for a 3 course meal....menu 2.
The food was good, dimsums were soft and fluffy with transparent layer. The server however confused on one of the starters by calling it something else, while it was not the named dish!
They also forgot to serve one of the starters which was done after we reminded them...little disappointing when u go to such a place though!
In the main course the items were decent but pork belly was the best among all...very tender and juicy.
Coming to dessert, the menu had Orange cheese cake but they replaced it with Ginger and Litchi pot de creme without informing us, which was not acceptable again.
However, it turned out to be one of the best desserts I had till date. They used Raspberry shorbet cake piece as our anniversary cake...which was beautiful and good to eat too.
So overall good place to dine and spend quality time if u are not so particular about the budget! Had a lovely experience
Went for the dinner buffet. The place is really upscale and swanky and the staff is polite. The spread wasn’t the most extensive but it did have enough delicious options to satisfy your cravings. One of my friends didn’t like their pasta and the chef himself came over to get him his pasta the way he liked. Desserts were decent too. Overall a nice place to be at for a date or even a weekend dinner with friends.
Ala Carte has good variety. They also have set meal options. Dim sums and main course quite good. Wonderful ambience and a distinctly good seating arrangement.
"THE BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN BANGALORE"
I ordered for Prawn and Asparagus Dumpling, Chicken Shumai, Pecking Duck Roll, Crispy Prawn Cheung Fun, Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, Lantern Special Red and White Fried Rice, and a custard filling dessert.
Everything was excellent but only the desert was a disappointment. The Dessert was a disaster.
It’s a very sophisticated place. I like the fact that they’ve tried something new with their decor. The food was delicious. The staff was very sweet and professional. Would love to go back.
Had been to this restaurant on my birthday for lunch. Very amazing ambiance, friendly staff and food is good, was up to my expectations. Would like to go once again for dinner as the ambiance will be fabulous in night time. The Experience Altogether Was Wonderful.
It's one of the best meals I've had in a while. The Lantern really lives up to its expectations. The decor and ambience is really great. Thanks to Chef Landan and his team for putting up such great food for us. Best Asian restaurant in the city!!
Amazing food, amazing hospitality, loved the decor, the vibe! Hats off to the management!
The food was just out of this world! Had some really good dim sums thanks to Chef Wangzor!
The baked chicken puff is a must try!
Amazing ambience and lip smacking food served. A special thanks to Chef Sonam for the mouthwatering food.
P.S. Stir fried chilli chicken is a must!!
The best chicken spring roll till now all thanks to chef devraj and his team. Keep making such amazing dishes and all the best for your future
Chef Sahon and Chef David, a wonderful job. I had a great dinner at lantern thanks to you and your team. The best Baked chicken puff I had in a while. God bless you for the days to come, and keep up the great work.
It was a great experience. They food choice is moderately large. Must try are the various dumplings, great both veg and non-veg.The staff exceptionally helpful and determined to please. I was there to celebrate my birthday and indeed the entire lantern team made it one of my best birthdays. Thanks to Ankita, Sakshi, suresh, prabhat, naman, for the wonderful arrangements and ofcourse
Chefs David, subart, bire, leden, tenzin wangjor for the lipsmacking food.
I would rate The Lantern at the Ritz as definitely a venue for superb Chinese cuisine and amongst the best in Bangalore . And also I loved the ambience; not a place that gives a regular restaurant feeling but more like a lounge . Good job done by the interior designers.
We had dinner on Saturday night and were so impressed. The best Chinese we have had since moving to Bangalore. Fresh and flavorful. The staff was also amazing as we had a 3 and 5 year old and they were patient and even gave them toy cars. It’s a super cute space to. Can’t wait to go back!
You don’t expect a place in the basement to be this beautiful and elegant. Came here for my birthday, and it was an amazing experience right from the seating, to incredible food and beautiful desserts. The prawn cheung fun was the hosts recommendation and indeed the star of the day!

Had been here for dinner and I got the outside seating .
We ordered the sweet corn soup ,hot and sour soup and the lung Fung soup .
The sweet corn soup and the lung Fung soup both were great but the hot and sour soup was so thick it was almost gum and it tasted really bad .
Coming to the appetizers we good the asian vegetable spring roll ,duck spring roll and the vegetable Shanghai dumplings .All of them tasted really good .
We also ordered the burnt garlic fried rice ,the lantern special red and white fried rice and the hofan noodles .
The burnt garlic fried rice was amazing so was the hofan noodles but I honestly expected more from the lantern special fried rice as the burnt garlic fried rice tasted better .
Also got the kung pao chicken , chicken and green tea xiao long bao and the treasure vegetable in Kim yam sauce
The kung pao chicken was cooked beautifully the chicken was cooked to perfection and was really good .
The treasure vegetable in Kim yam sauce was good .
But no a fan of the chicken and green tea xiao long bao didn't really taste that good.
Would definitely go here again .
Booked this place for Dad's Birthday Dinner. The booking process was smooth and I got an immediate call back from the resto as soon as I booked on Zomato. Requested for birthday cake, and since dad doesn't like chocolate as a flavor(IKR?, wonder where I get it from) I ordered for a fruit Ganache, which they said would be charged extra.
To our surprise, they gave it on the house once we reached. Service is excellent, my sister as usual rained a torrent of questions about their Vegetarian Menu and the waiters patiently explained everything.
Food, oh the food. Tried the Chicken Shumai (Steamed Dim Sum), Almond Prawn Roll from their fried section of Dim sums and we liked the latter best among all. For main course we ordered pan fried Noodles and it was a tad bit on the oilier side. Vegetarian wasn't disappointing, but wasn't great either. Request them and they'll try their best to get what you ask for. :)
I rarely give a 5 but had a happy experience and definitely on the list of restos to visit again so here you go.
Great service, great food!
Must try: Edamame and Truffle Dumplings, Crispy Prawn cheung fun and Haricot Beans
Easily my favorite Asian restaurant in Bangalore
The Ritz experience was all that it could be. Beautifully amazing. Beginning from the location to the food, everything was top notch.
The restaurant is in the basement of the hotel and has a very interesting view. Within, the ambience is colourful and bright. The staff are perfectly poised and trained, service is one of their best highlights.
The food was mouth watering. Their Cheung Fun could be a slight bit more flavourful. However, their main course of sliced chicken with mushroom and truffle with egg fried rice was marvellous. Their menu is good, but has limited items. Considering how great the quality is, they could certainly benefit from more options.
It is extremely high priced, but the advantage of Zomato Gold is really felt here. It makes the experience very affordable, and for the experience, entirely worth it. Any Chinese cuisine lover must certainly come over for a meal.
One of the best Chinese food in town. Being a vegetarian were have less option in the menu. But what ever we ordered was just excellent. Their hospitality need not be questioned. A MUST TRY PLACE.
A big thank you to Jerosa - the Supervisor of lantern who ensured us an excellent experience . The Kung pao chicken , crispy prawns Chung fun & the truffle edemame dumpling were simply awsome ... Had a very nice time with my family here..
The food at this place is simply awesome. The ambience is perfect. Loved the dimsums, spring rolls. The dam dam noodles are a must have here. They serve most of the popular authentic Chinese dishes. There are a lot of options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians
The best honey pork I’ve ever had. Combined with jasmine rice. Sure will come back here again . One of my favourite in the city . The ambience is also just great
Awesome food and courteous service. It's nice to see smiling faces all around. Ritz Carlton is definitely top notch and the relaxing atmosphere is perfect for unwinding and chilling out. The food is delicious and the staff make every effort to make it pleasant and memorable. Keep up the good work folks.
The Lantern is the perfect place to celebrate any special occasion! My fiance and I celebrated our engagement this weekend at the Lantern. The ambience was cozy and romantic. We had a private dining area which was a perfect setting for the evening . We ordered the Vegetarian Bao,Shimeji Mushroom Dumplings ,Lantern Special Red and White Fried rice and Sauteed Vegetarian Duck with Dried Chilli. The food was great and the service was excellent! Special mention to Prava and Ankita for putting together such a lovely evening for the two of us. We'd definetly recommend Lantern to anyone who's looking to celebrate an occasion with their loved one.
I had been here with my cousins for dinner. I haven’t tasted such delicious foods ever .

Anniversary and what's the best way to celebrate if you don't dine at lovely place with good food. So for the same we finalized Lantern as our love for Chinese also influenced the decision.
Booked our table in advance and reached almost on time but found it li'l hard to find the restaurant as it tucked away from the hotel in the basement of a separate block. Interiors were tastefully done with the mix of tables, couches, reading sofas where you can sit comfortably for very long and have a nice time with your loved ones. They have a section in open air but couldn't opt as it was pretty hot.
They have a big menu with loads of option on Dimsum. Since we couldn't decide anything in particular as what to have so decided to go with the Menu II which was a set 3 course meal sufficient for 3 people (we were 2 and couldn't finish off at all).
The layer of dimsums were soft, transparent and well stuffed. The server got confused one time and mentioned something else while serving 'Lobster Money Pouch' , also they didn't serve 'Crispy Vegetable Cheung fun' till the end even after reminding which was kind of disappointing. The starters were good but nothing stood outstanding.
In the main course, the best was Pork belly which was tender and juicy. Other items were good as well but Pork belly was the best among all.
Coming to dessert - It was mentioned 'Orange Cheese cake' but they replaced it with 'Ginger and Litchi Pot de creme' without asking/informing us, which in turn was the one of the best dessert I had in a long time but they should have informed us.
And they used the 'Raspberry Sorbet' slice as our Anniversary Cake and presented beautifully. Thanks for that!!
Overall, it is a great place to dine and spend quality time with your loved ones while having good food, if you are not worried about the cost. But they should keep the customer informed if any change they are doing or something is not being served.
Been to this place yesterday and the ambiance was lovely. It's authentic and with soothing music from background. They also have outdoor sitting but as it's quite rainy these days they suggested us to sit inside.
The services was also great. As being a vegetarian I have some doubts regarding what is vegetarian duck and they explain me that how's it out of soya milk and all.
The food was really awesome. You can get the authenticity in vegi, sauces they all are freshly prepared. We ordered some backed dimsum, noodles, tofu vegi, rice and chocolate cinnamon cake. The portion is appropriate for both of us and prices also vary portion wise.
Must go if you wanted to send some peaceful and romantic time with your love ones.
Happy eating ☺️
Thanks Prabhat for making us feel so special on our anniversary 😊😊😊.. Everyone talks about food and ambience etc.. Obviously u expect food to be top class when u go to such a nice restaurant.. “Designed to resemble its namesake, The LANTERN at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore combines an informal Chinese fine dining experience with cutting-edge night life.”. Situated on a level below the ground , it reminds me of enchanting yet forbidden kingdom or perhaps a secret place with a fantastic view. The Evocative Oriental interiors at the Lantern are quite interesting. Along with the Stylish lifestyle bar at the entrance that serves distinctive Asian spirits and mixed drinks , some of the wall sections in the restaurant, have been created with different materials like books , carpets and others, giving it a very uniquely attractive feel. The alfresco terrace seating here is surrounded by lot of greenery and water features. Hailed by many food connoisseurs for the menu that epitomises Chinese culinary traditions at Lantern with array of delightful Dim Sums, soups and other sumptuous delicacies from the region.
The ASIAN cocktails are stunning here the ambience is fabulous Chinese dishes are yummy in their own taste the decor is mind blowing it’s a cool place to chill the service is great 👍🏻 I was observing the management team how they really work with the customers and its really great I salute for their service I learnt some thing from them too☺️
Cute chicks 🤙🏻with a chill drinks 🥂makes your night awesome at lantern😎
If u r in BANGALURU a must visit restaurant where in u can enjoy ur good time with a most delicious dinner🥗🍱🍛
Chineese is awesome
Lantern is more awesome
Sorbet was not that good but the pastry and the momos are excellent and outstanding😍😍😍
Must try at this place
The Lantern at the Ritz Carlton has excellent food: the Peking Duck rolls, the chicken suimai and the vegetable and chives dim sum were simply out of the world. The crispy prawn cheung fun was mouth-watering and egg fried rice was excellent. We also thoroughly excited by the broccoli and glass noodles in ‘superior’ soy sauce.
We were a family of seven- and my grandparents are quite old- and we were incredibly well looked after. The hospitality is excellent: genuine and very attentive. They catered to us very carefully even though we had made no booking on an especially busy day. Mr Manjeet Sen and his team helped us bring in a special and very memorable birthday and Bengali New Year. We’re very happy to have come and we will definitely come back!
Damn!!! Been to so many places in Benguluru but no one even close to you guys.
I have always been a fan of ambience and often check that section before checking what the menu is. And trust me on this, Lantern blew me up.
The photos shared here donot justify how majestic the place is.
Same is the case with food and the hospitality. And surprisingly, their Chinese dishes are way more better then the best Proper Chinese outlets in bangalore.
We went to the Lantern cause I had heard a lot about their Dimsum lunch and it was totally worth it! The edamame dumpling are from another planet, couldn’t stop eating them. Delicious noodles and tenderloin. Also their homemade banana&caramel ice cream is a must try!
We lived in China for quite a long time before moving to Bangalore and were craving some authentic Chinese food, well we found it!
If you go there, ask for Ajay. He’s really good, took good care of us and recommended the most yummy dishes.
Love love love the decor, the places majestic yet subtle. Absolutely delicious Chinese compared to Chinese in other star hotels in the city. The inside seating is just beautiful. Definitely recommend it.
Good food and great Ambiance. Celebrated 1st anniversary and it did live up to my expectation. They also surprised us with a small cake at the end of our dinner.
Prawn Crab Dimsum and Prawn Cheung Fun were superb. Also it was very easy on the pocket. A must try
I quite enjoyed the bento box lunch here. The dim sums that came with it were completely satisfying. If you are like me and eat dim sums for the purpose of eating chilly oil, The Lantern has the best chilly oil in town hands down. The lunch comes in a box with adequate quality of sides, soup, puffs and noodles or rice. It’s great value of money and the puffs deserve a special mention. They are light and full of flavour. A very enjoyable meal and experience overall. Of course the decor is elegant and sophisticated. The service is worthy of a mention too. This is a place I would definitely go back to to try more dim sum.
Visited this place on our second anniversary. Awesome ambience and amazing service perfect for dinner dates. If you are an ardent book worm you would love sitting across the wall made out of used books. Food quality is great and if you re looking for authentic Chinese this place would be your right choice. Though they do have a limited spread. The customized cocktails are a must try.
Was here on NYE for a quiet dinner with family. The place is pleasant and peaceful. We had a set menu for the evening. It started off with delicious soup, perfect for the chilly weather and next were spring rolls and dumplings which were great! For the mains we opted for fried rice which was simple yet tasty along with fish and vegetable gravy. The dessert of macaroons marked the end of our meal! The staff is friendly and warm!
Been here for a Birthday party arranged by my friend, ambiance is so good, service was good..food was too good, yummy Chinese after a very long time,we had a buffet.Prawn and chicken Momo's was too good, noodles, fried rice, fish and chicken and the dessert was very tasty..not a wide menu though but whatever was arranged was really good..price for the menu is ok.u can try once if u love Chinese!!
Nice cozy place.. with lots of effort by staff for making our day special..pampering my kid with kids special cutlery and plates...following a gift
Food was good but can’t say best in Bangalore but meat quality was very good.. drinks was really good but little on higher price ...
Will go again for their hospitality
It was my wife's birthday and was looking for something super special. After doing my extensive R&D I zeroed in this place to put a smile on her face. As expected it was a classy fine dining place with amazingly beautiful n romantic ambience. We opted for set menu Which had almost everything we could think of or stuff at a time. The starters with variety of dumplings and spring roll was much beyond awesome. The same bliss continued for the main course which was again better than the best. Although we were full but were expecting the same for dessert as well which turned out to be strictly average. Although the quality of service was perfect but timelines of service was not up to the mark and we were waiting unreasonably on several occasions. Overall it was worth selecting it for this special occasion:))
Just had an amazing anniversary night with great food and ambience... I had requested for a nice table and to my surprise they had arranged table with lovely candles and roses .. overall had a great time .. customer service , food and ambience deserves a 5 star rating 😊
I'm a big fan of Pan Asian food...decided to try out The Lantern on a Sunday night. Beautiful interiors. Classy & Chic. Great service - of course. Wouldn't expect anything less at the Ritz. The food, was a hit and miss. We ordered a lot of starters a few main courses. The dimsums and chicken starters were a hit. The steamed bread was loved by everyone. Soft, moist - done to perfection. The main course was a miss. The burnt garlic noodles...were so average and uninspired. Could have made the same thing at home. The stir fried veggies again lacked any flavor. A little rice wine or sesame oil would have changed the dynamic of the dish. When paying so much for these dishes, you expect much more. Overall, a good experience. Good food - definitely room for improvement.
Awesome experience this is my third visit here .the staff is very welcoming and helping which leaves last impressions the ambience is equally awesome. the food was quite nice .amazing service and great food
The food at lantern is stunning! I crave their prawn chueng fun and chicken puffs all the time. I have gone there numerous times with my family. The hospitality is fabulous. I highly recommend their dim sums as well.
Good food if you love authentic chinese . With exquisite ambience and friendly staff the restaurant wows your dining experience and the dimmed lights and extraordinary decor of the restaurant gives a feel of authentication of chinese culture, yes price wise it is high but it's worth the hospitality and quality
Went there on a saturday night. The service is extremely good. Harsha was the service guy who was really sweet to us . We ordered a lobster which was terrific and few cocktails like bellini and sangria which was good too. A perfect dinner night!
I am always sceptical of 5 star hotel diners because they are never up to the mark.
The Lantern is an exception. The restaurant is not in the main Ritz hotel but in an extension. Well lit by natural light thanks to its garden...it's is quiet and beautiful. Loved the ambience and decor.
Coming to the food. I order the prawn and asparagus dimpling and it was bland but tasty. Just add some chilli sauce if u r like me who like spicy food.
In the main course had veg noodles along with sliced lamb with black mushrooms. The lamb was well cooked and tasty while the noodle had a little sweetish tinge to it.
And the desert was a mango pudding. Nice but it was small. A little larger serving would have been nice.
Overall a lovely experience and would like to go in the evening for dinner next time.
Ritz Carlton is one of the premier hotel brands around the world renowned for its amazing hospitality. Keeping this in mind, I visited this place on the occasion of my fiancee's birthday. I made a special request for a romantic seating and boy did they deliver. A secluded table covered in red petals, a personal waiter, romantic music and candle light. All these instances coupled together with scrumpcious food and top notch service made our special occasion a truly memorable one. I look forward to revisit this exquisite restaurant.
I am in love with the dining experience here...The food was delicious...I would give 5* for the hospitality.....I've never enjoyed Chinese Cuisine like the way I enjoyed it here....I ordered a cake for my friend's b'day and the chef baked it to perfection...Lantern would give you a different experience....
Love the set menus and all you can eat dim sum lunches.
Hands down the best dim sums in town and love that restraunt is still casual
The cocktails could have been better but the food more than makes up for it.
The two immoral words: “Ritz Carlton”. Synonymous with all things luxury, the Ritz Carlton brand of world class experiences in intimate, indulgent settings often redefines what it means to be classed as five star.
It was without hesitation that we settled on their fabulous, uniquely designed property in the heart of Bangalore for a twenty-sixth birthday celebration. It was to be a small, family affair touched with the signature style expected of the team and location of Ritz Carlton.
From cocktails on the terrace at BANG to kick start the soirée, we wound our way down to Lantern. Beautifully designed all round, our corner table had been thoughtfully decorated with personal photographs and took us down memory lane while the team wound and whirled their way around the table serving us a vast selection of Chinese delights. Lots of Szechwan flavours and other delights such as dumplings, fried rice, noodles, soup and a big chocolate cake from the in-house patisserie to well and truly stuff our guts.
Manoj, the GM of Lantern and the mastermind and string-puller of the entire night, was equally hospitable and really went out of his way to ensure our expectations were met. The piece de resistance of the entire night was going out into the palm-tree courtyard in the drizzling rain to light a Chinese paper lantern, and we all watched with trepidation as the lantern wove its way up into the night sky! Simple but a surely long lasting memory to cherish.
Yes, it’s not light on the pocket but for a special event such as a birthday, it would be thoroughly recommended from my side as the entire team is so well trained and knows the ins and outs of throwing a supremely memorable and stunning birthday celebration!
Impressive on all fronts. Had been for a lunch with colleagues & everything was truly impressive. Right from the service to the food quality to the attentiveness of the team. 😀
Dividing the review in the sub-heads:
Entry - it is very odd and awkward. One has to take a elevator down from the main lobby. Well it is not the main lobby of the restaurant, it is main entry area of the resaurant. That was the only odd part of my trip.
Ambience - the restaurant is divided into two seating - one is inside and other one outside. I went for lunch and it was windy/drizzling so sat inside. The inside portion the restaurant is kind of small. But it has amazing set up especially chinese print show pieces.
Food - went for lunch and had their set menu. Although it said any four dim sums out of the eight, they were happy to add the fifth one as well. The prawn dim sums, chicken suimai, chicken puff, seabass simdum. They were all good. Only thing which stood out was the quality of prawns. One bite and you could feel it that they were fresh. For main course had the fish in chilli sauce with brunt Garlic rice. Once again the quality and freshness of the fish stood out. Although mango pudding was good, the caramelized banana ice cream was just superb.
Service - very attentive and courteous.
Overall - great experience and given that it was one of those days when it was not that crowded, the food tasted even better.
Visited on a weekday for lunch.
The executive lunch menu was good enough for me since they dint have many options in chicken on the a la carté menu.
The best dimsims I have ever had.
The soup was a little thicker than I would have liked but tasted great.
Main course was delicious.
Did not enjoy the mango pudding much.
About the ambiance.. Well! let me not spoil it's beauty with my poor description.
Had a great time on my birthday though it was a short visit in between work.
We decided to go to The Lantern as it was listed on Dineout.
For starters, we ordered Chicken Shumai Dim Sums and Crispy Chilly Chicken. For main course, we had Black Pepper Chicken and Signature XO Fried Rice.
The food was uniformly excellent. The quantity of the main course, especially the chicken was sufficient for 2 people.
The service was exemplary. We got recommendations for the dishes to order and regular check ins on how the food was.
At the end, the restaurant gave us a small cake because of the special occasion which was a very nice gesture.
Overall, we had a great experience at The Lantern.
Expectations change with price, generally. Given the high price of this restaurant, I was disappointed with the quality of the meal. It was reasonably good, but not great. The dishes we had were standard Indo-Chinese and lacked the uniqueness I expected. The assorted vegetarian dim sum was the best dish. The ambience is nice and there is limited seating which makes the dining experience better than a large restaurant.
Nice place to visit.. the staff is very polite and helpful . The ambiance is a bit different.. the sofas are comfortable and nice... The food is good.. dimsums are good with a soft and moist skin with good chicken and prawns.. the prawns were not overcooked so that was good.. the quantity of dimsum felt less given that a serving has only 4 pieces.. thought there would be 5 or 6 pieces..
The garlic fried was okay okay.. the Kang pao chicken was good..
We had ordered lemon coriander soup which was good but just not sure if it was lemon coriander.. the bill stated lun pung..
Overall good experience and worth enjoying the ambiance and place..
5 stars for the ambience and the exceptionally great service. special mention about Hugo chattange who took our order and made our visit pleasant and comfortable. food as well as drinks menu are vast. do check with the waiters if you want to know exactly what’s in your dish . they have a good idea of what they are serving. good to inform them earlier i you are visiting for birthday/anniversary. they make special arrangement for you on their own.
Visited for a weekday dinner with my spouse. The request to have the table decorated with candles and flowers was followed and the waitress was kind enough to walk us to our seating
The staff in general was polite and patient explaining the menu and recommending the signature dishes
We ordered the chicken coriander dumplings and soup for starter. Baring the quantity of the dishes, everything was spectacular, this place is particularly known for their dumpling basket so do try that out
We ordered the wok noodles with kung pao chicken for the mains. Loved the noodles, very fresh and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was well cooked but the sauce was too sweet and had overload of cashews
For dessert we ordered the tender coconut ice cream which was delectable
Overall a classic fine dining experience where the services trump over portion size. I won’t call it the best Marriott restaurant experience I have had but just for the overall experience, worth a try
Cost for 2: INR 4000 approx
Excellent food!! Great ambience.. Service was a bit slow, but they made up for it.
Visited this place for the 2nd time after about a years gap and they still make good food. The cocktail with leeches was amazing.
The food was great but the lava cake didn't really have lava in it. So hopefully they make it better next time.
I had a great time at the Lantern. It's beautifully decorated and the staff is polite. We opted for chef's special Dim sum (there was a 5 different types in the basket) and I didn't felt anything special and I ended up missing the dim sum from Hakkasan, Mumbai. Cheung fung was surprisingly better than the Dim sum.
For the main course, their burnt garlic fried rice is a must and treasure vegetables in Kin Yam sauce didn't fail to satisfy my taste buds.
We tried martini and margarita. I ended up ordering Martini for the second time. Totally loved it.
For the desert, the selection is limited and their Choco lava cake is no different from what you can buy at Domino's. Chilled pumpkin puree with tender coconut was something different and was filled with flavours.
The ambience of the place is amazing. The staff is extremely professional and courteous. The dishes though delicous, was visibly lacking in quantity. Understandbly the restaurant is the showpiece restaurant of Ritz Carlton, but paying 700 bucks for 6 small pieces of prawn is something which I can't condone of! Having stayed in Europe for nearly 4 years and having wined and dined at numerous luxurious restaurants, I still felt this was taking it a bit too far! But a shout out to the Chicken noodles! Those were yummy and sumptuous and felt like money well spent!
Where do I start ? From the minute you enter The Ritz-Carlton, it's like a different world. Coming to the restaurant 'Lantern', the ambience is amazing. Sufficiently lit up to the point which does not strain your eyes. We sat outdoors and there was sufficient greenery all around and to one side of our table there was water that kept on regenerating and falling down. The environment makes you feel relaxed and calm and that is exactly what I needed after a long tiring day at work. Coming to food, it was good, staff and service were exemplary and for the pricing - it does not matter as it's part of The Ritz. Definitely, check this out !!!😃
Updated 9oct22: lantern responded and will investigate my incident at the bar with the right duty manager. Therefore changed my rating from 1 back to 4
Food and service was splendid but unfortunate not entirely having the authentic flavours. Couldn't try that much as I was eating alone. Outdoor has a very nice atmosphere but I sat inside to avoid mosquito bites. Liked the Xiao Long Bao, pan seared seabass and their garlic rice. Pass the duck springroll.
After dinner, I went to their rooftop bar Bang. I ordered an old fashion which was poorly made and they charged me 2 drinks instead of 1. My mistake that I didn't validate but for a high-end hotel like Ritz Carlton this is sadly ripping off clients. Charged me for a rye whisky instead of a cocktail and I paid 3000 rupies.
I submitted an email about my bad experience and asked politely if the restaurant staff can direct my complaint to the right duty manager of the bar. Nada.... no response at all
I'm giving a 1 star, not for the food experience which I would have rate 4. This is mainly because how they not handle post-dinner communications
I was seated by a small table at the entrance and it was too cold. The food was a healthy feeling. However, the taste was not special. It is about the taste of this price. Because there were many walls, the feeling space was feeling frustrating. If possible, we recommend eating on the third floor. It seems that if you go too early, the third floor will not open.
Very good Chinese food.
Nice cosy, loungy atmosphere.
The place is located at the basement of a glass building at the entrance of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. It is full of light though has it faces and outdoor patio.
The dim-sum are excellent with a thin
wrap and fresh filling.
The fried rice with garlic and chives is fabulous.
The service is very attentive and pleasant.
The ambience and the food compliment each other well ,the waiters were extremely nice and food was just a dream come true , especially the dumplings, i highly suggest you to visit this place
It was truly a luxury dining at Lantern, The Ritz Carlton, Bangalore.
My friends and I came to enjoy our lunch after our Graduation was done. The ambience of this place is truly mesmerising. The staff is so professional and sweet. Art, who greeted us at the entrance of Lantern was a total sweetheart. Throughout our lunch, we were looked after very well. A special shout-out to Hugo who made us feel very comfortable and was very hospitable. The food was exceptionally good and the dishes were so exquisite and appetising.
We had a very memorable time there and would love to visit again.
