Awesome Fish Biriyani and chicken Kabab. Nice Customer Service
A cosy, cool and memorable experience. Lovely and splendid stay that will be a bench Mark.
Casual visit for lunch made really special, very tasty food. It was on Friday and we arrived at namaz time. Still they were able to allow us inside and took our order. We understand their efforts to our service. Apart from all this, Really delicious food too. Thank you.
Good Quantity of Mutton is given with the Biryani and it was very tasty. The Brain Pepper Fry also was very tasty and a good quantity was given in the parcel.
Old timers of Bangalore would know of Imperial on Residency Road as a place popular for its Kababs. My father often talked about going there during his bachelor days and me to my son who now being an adult also visits the place....
The Imperial is open till past midnight and you will see the place pretty crowed especially on weekends past midnight but dont worry they have a lot of place and will accommodate you in no time at all.
Parking is a BIG problem at all times...
Most of the food served here is good.
1) The Kababs, Ghee Rice & Parathas - Kerala, Wheat, Ceylon etc, are the most popular items here. The Chicken Kabab especially comes with good-sized, succulent and crispy pieces. They also have a chilli kabab which is really good and one should not miss ordering both these kababs..
2) They have some excellent Bheja pepper and Bheja masala.
3) Great Grilled Chicken.
4) The Chicken Biriyani, although not top-notch, is a decent one.
5)
Good collection of juices etc.
Verdict :- This is NOT your fine dining place, but they do have a a/c family section on the first floor, This restaurant is ideal for quick eating out or take away or as a pocket-friendlier option.
Please note once again : - Imperial is not a fine dine or a fancy restaurant, its a basic restaurant with some great food that wont burn a hole in your pocket.
We had a family dinner at this hotel and we had such a great experience .had all non veg stuffs- tandoori chicken ,kawabs and many such items..we had fabulous time eating there
Situated on the busy Residency Road, this establishment has been around for decades. Tried their butter chicken and nan and was happy with the food and service. A good option if you are looking to try some non-vegetarian fare.
If you are a grill lover you should definitely try out this place for mouth watering grilled chicken.... this place is open till late mid night.... good for people looking for a place in odd hours to kill and satisfy their hunger cramps... ghee rice with chicken combo is also excellent choice ...
We had chicken kabab, butter kulcha and dal thadka. Food was above average. Chicken kabab was good. We also had moosambi juice and watermelon juice which were okish. Overall the place is good.
Love Biryaani with long basmathi rice ?
.
This place in residency road serves a tasty biryaani with fried onions on top. This place doesn't have a spicy biryaani ,they accompany their biryaani with sherwaa and raita , good to go meal ! Had heard enough about this place , they have many branches across Bangalore, so give it a try 😋
Place is little thinkable but taste and food is nice with service as well r
Responsive attractive and they deserve the 5* rating.
We had a biriyani with chicken grilled with mates.
Ordered fried rice and got it piping hot, though the veggies and rice are not that great of quality. But the quantity is good enough for one
I like the taste over here. Food is served fresh and is very tasty especially the butter chicken and biriyani. Nice seating place also and ac is also available
Imperial Restauarant is a restaurant where the ambience , cleanliness and food is good. Staff are polite and orders are fulfilled soon . I like this place and Imperial is good at what they do.

Love the kababs, ask for wings and legs only version. Ghee rice and kababs, The OG that started it all for me, the saturday night beast mode dinner. Butter naan and butter chicken reminds of family dinners from back in the day.

Best imperial restaurant in town. Can’t compare any other Imperial to the one located at Residency Road, close to St Josephs/St Patrick’s church 😊
I ve tried the kabab n ghee rice combination all over, but this is the best!!
Beats Empire restaurant’s kabab as well, hands down!!
If you are looking for some good food at a moderate budget in and around brigade road, Imperial is a great place to pay a visit. The food is tasty; service is prompt without much fuss. Nothing much to talk about ambiance but decent enough. My favorites from their menu are:
Chicken Chilly Kabab Wings: Chicken wings fried kababs with an added zing of green chillies
Mutton Pepper Dry: Tender mutton pieces tossed in black pepper based masala and curry leaves. A must try
Ghee Rice: I really love the ghee rice at Imperial
Kadhai Mutton: A spicy flavorful mutton gravy
The best Menu here is
GHEE RICE
Imperial Kebabs
KERELA PAROTA
Grilled chicken so this is the best place for families also and bachelors also
I have visiting this hotel from 20 years
You get the best chicken kabab here with the best ghee rice. The service is quick and the food is absolutely amazing. Tried the pepper mutton dry recently and that was very good too.
The old boy from the 1950’s still in action .... I remember my friends father saying he used to eat from this place when he was in collage .....walking into this Resturant after ages was nostalgic ....it brought my school days memories (1980’s) back ....the days when it fed my friends and me at 2 in the morning ....same taste sane kind of a crowed believe it or not same ambience same table 😂👍only with a few Morden gadgets like a waiter taking an order with an i pad and a shwarma grill ...ordered their famous chill chicken Kabab my favourite ,ghee rice & Kabab s , brain fry and mutton gravy and full grilled chicken.....it feeds your soul when ur hungry ......VFM....1,800/-Rs for so much food
You will get a good food • The service is absolutely fine•
Ambiance is great • One must try chicken kabab , mutton with ghee rice and all items of fish are good
Ghee rice and the grilled chicken must try, service is quick and is open for late nights too..Mr.khan the waiter was very helpful and kind. Will visit here soon again. Vegans avoid this place.
Ordered for chicken biryani, chicken pepper and onion dry and ceylon parotta.
Chicken pepper and onion dry was good
Biryani was ok
Ambiance 3/5
Service 4/5
Grilled chicken is amazing here!
Staff is curteous and polite
One of bangalore's famous old joints!
Ghee rice is overhyped but good for a change of taste
Cannot get bored of this restaurant. Open late night, great staff, amazing food and quality maintained over the years. Love the food at this place
A mallu touch hotel with good ambience. Mutton is good here. We have wheat porotta and mutton brain fry..And mutton roast too..Nice . Just try once .
one of my Favourite Restaurant in Bangalore ... I have been there so many times. I really enjoy their Food and Service. Warm Hospitality. Shawarma Roll, Kalmi Kebab, Oil Fry Kebab, Ghee Rice and Biryani must try. Good Job Team :-)
Lovely Kerala porotta. Crunchy and crispy. Yummy Gravies, although all their gravies are slightly on the sweeter side. Overall good experience. Tandoori chicken is a must try.
One of the late night dining places which is open till 2AM. Have been there quite a few times. Food and cutlery are hygienic. One must try Paneer Butter Masala , Dal Fry , Wheat Parota and Ghee Rice. If you r a non-veggy then Brain Fry , Boneless Kabab and Roomali Roti is a must have . At the end one can try Suleimani(lemon tea) chai for a complete experience. This restaurant has numerous variety of meat dishes.
Ghee rice with chicken kabab, grill chicken is the speciality here. Tandoor and other gravey items are ok. Price little costly for this type of restaurant.

Have been here couple of times and eveytime i visit i want more. Haven't tried out much from the Menu. My favourite here is the bheja fry with roti. Its very creamy and bit spicy at same time. Chicken biryani is ok. This place is open till late hours. Prices are reasonable, however bit disappointed on the quantity. Overall a good place to enjoy non-veg food.
We had food with friends in imperial restaurant in residency road services and food qualityandquantity is good we enjoy our dinner with my friends we tried tandoorichicken ghee rice and tikka masala it was very much tasty you cantryonce ..
Ghee rice and chicken khabab is the speciality and when ever I visit Bangalore I make Sure that I visit Imperial to have there Mutton Brain . It's one of the oldest hotel in Bangalore . When ever you are in Bangalore make sure to visit .
Had been here for a late night dinner.. ordered ghee rice with dal, chicken kabab and bheja fry.. service was quick and the staff too were very courteous.. I found the kabab very ordinary.. normally when you order kabab from anywhere it’s either tandoor or grilled but here it is deep fried.. ghee rice with dal was a great combination and I just loved it with the yummy bheja fry.. shall surely visit for lunch very soon to try more dishes..
Tried chicken biriyani here, other varieties of chicken biriyani like Hyderabadi biriyani etc. which were on menu were not available for order for dinner. The quantity is perfectly adequate for one, unlike in Andhra biriyani center's which might be more in quantity for one.Priced adequately for the quantity provided.
Typical muslim style biriyani not at all spicy.Overall not very much impressed by the taste of biriyani.
Also felt that cleanliness was not maintained.
The original imperial, been visiting this restaurant from a decade, the kababs are amazingly well cooked and tasty and the shawarma from this place is always a notch better than other places . Reasonable priced and good food . Must try their parota and butter chicken and ghee rice
I comes with my friends after 4. Food is really good .
Things is staff are fighting ech other infornd of customers.

@Jone
The structure seems to be old since it is very old but the food absolutely stunning. Great Indian food. It's so old that my uncle's used to go their in their 20s. They should be looking to revamp the place complete. All other things are excellent.
Hi all
Good service good food price also good for everyone I had tandoori naan chicken Tikka masala grill chicken was tasty in emprial you can try once ........
Food 5/5
Service 5/5
Hygiene 5/5
Been here many times with my family and family friends
Have heard from them their college day stories where they used to hang out in this place only for their ghee rice and chicken kabab. Not only them but a lot of people fantasize their experience of having ghee rice with a plate of chicken kabab here. So when I got a chance of tasting the same, I had foodgasm just like mark wiens. This ghee rice and kabab combo stands out from all the other dishes they serve here. There are many more dishes which are tasty but the above stated combo is the signature one that many visit to have at least once in a few weeks,
I'd also tasted their coin parota along with butter chicken and paneer butter masala and man o man they can never get wrong in the quality and quantity of items they serve.
I also tried teether( which is a smaller version of wild chicken) and it was rough and I could sense that it was frozen meat but the masala was great and one can give it a try.
This restaurant justifies the legendary tag it has and is crowded always. The customers are always satisfied.
So guys never miss an opportunity to try the legendary combo whenever yo visit this place
Pretty nice food. Dal fry is really good and coin paratha is great. Service is great, very friendly staff. Chicken is good but kebabs are not that great.

This restaurant is old and well known in Bangalore. I visited this place after many years and was surprised that they still maintain the same quality of food. It has just got tastier.
The ambience is pretty much like any normal North Indian restaurant and you'll find it crowded during weekends.
The food was delicious and very filling as well.
We ordered chicken kababs and pepper chicken kababs which were served hot and tasted amazing!
We also ordered Kushka Rice(one of the best) and settled for Kerala paratha. The paratha was soft and crumbled at the slightest touch.
We ordered chicken tikka gravy which was really good.
The only disappointment was the staff, as they weren't paying much attention and were little confused.
If you are looking to have the best chicken kababs then this place is a must visit.
Ambience : 3
Food : 4.5

It's near my college
I only eat the Kerela parota and the butter chicken
Colourless kabab is great
Fish chilly was divine
Teetar was Tasty
Parota was flaky and soft
We also get a complimentary salad
Which is nice
Good service
This place is quite small ambience i didn't found that great and service is not slow.
But good quality was good specially the ghee rice is delicius with nice flavour.
Staff attitude is okay.
Ambience is okay.
Overall good to have food in resonable price.
We had great food from your property church. chicken kabab was nice. i like the food .
staff are good. we are from kerala. had a nice dinner with family frienda.
Hai I'm Anil, I'm regular guest of imperial hotel. Today I had mutton hot n sour soup which is very yummy N then I ordered tangadi kabab which is fantastic. Very nice staff they are very responsible 4 the guest, mainly khan bhai n ahmed bhai they are gud guy. But plz maintain toilet it's only suggestion not a complain.Totally it's very amazing experience in imperial. If u r not visited plz visit once imperial. 👌👌👌
I have always tried four items for past 20 years and I am in love with it. This restaurant is like my family get to together restaurant. I only order ghee rice shorba, chicken kebab, chilly chicken kebab and lime soda and I m done for lunch. Seriously guys I Ave seen this restaurant being transformed. Hats off !!!!!! But golden fried prawna were like bhajji or pakoda. Not up to the mark.
Normally I visit so many restaurants but I have not reviewed any restaurant but reviwing this restaurant because there os something special in taste and service , hope you enjoy that
Imperial kitchen 2nd experience . 1st from indiranagar. Food was good. This is like another version of empire restaurant chains. A typical mallu arabian restauarnt thats serves grill chicken items and serves till late night. Gst month end day this restaurant helped to feed me on late night around 1. Still 1 its is crowded
I want to specifically mentioned about the delivery . 1 ordered full grill. Descent price n taste also good. I payed extra money for mayo . I m hard fan of mayo. If i m eating grill mayo is mandatory for me . They didnt served well. They given small dip for entire chicken very bad. Why they saving money for mayo. Even though i paid extra they given small dip. I will share the pik of the parcel you can zoom it and look the size. Very disappointed about this service
Don't come here for ambiance or service or spending quality time. Come here just for the food, in fact jus get your stuff parceled go home and enjoy the food. I love their grill chicken, tender , juicy and flavorful, one of the best in Bangalore. Tandoori chicken curry with butter naan tasted good too.
I'm regular customer of imperial hotel, when I have tym to had food I absolutely going their to having chilly chicken bless nd butter kulcha with veg kolapuri bcoz I love spicy food.....nd suggesting u also once visit this hotel also...!!!!!!!!
By far, the best chicken kebab they serve. The food is super delicious. I've been frequenting this place for the past few months. There are just some things, like the chicken kebabs, that I can't get enough of. The food is not pricey, but it's pretty darn good. I usually order their Chicken Kebab and tikka masala that comes with super tender chicken with the most delicious curry in it - and you can have it with rice or any indian breads of your choice.
This isn't a fancy restaurant. This is the stuff your grandma or mom would make, from recipes passed down, that you could never get enough of. It's comfort food. :)
Great food. Especially, grilled chicken, chicken biryani. They have a very nice Dal fry, typical dhaba style. Service guy was awesome. He was managing whole floor alone. They have valet parking.
Before I start my review I must admit my bias and state that I have been a loyal customer since I was a little boy. My father has been a customer at the restaurant since the 1980's and the place is a treat, if you know what to order. Over the years imperial has done what every restaurant does cater for people who eat different cuisines and in doing so their authenticity has diminished in a way. People who have been going to imperial know not to order Chinese or north Indian there because their speciality is kababs, tandoor and Kerala cuisines.
Food - The fish masala(make sure to ask them to fry the fish before they put it in the curry), brain pepper dry, ghee rice, chilli kabab (double fry), chicken hariyali, regular chicken kabab, wheat parota, fish tikka and mutton kadai, are really good dishes and you can't go wrong with them. The Malabar and fish biryani are good too. Those who like grill chicken, tandoor and shawarma will enjoy it(full disclosure there are days when the grill is sub-par so the tandoor is a better option if you want to be safe). I would suggest that vegetarians and those who want to eat north Indian food stay clear of imperial because the food will disappoint you. Especially if you are used to north Indian dishes from places like kakke Da/chengezi in delhi, trust me you won't like this restaurant.
Service- one of the things which takes me back to imperial is the service. While being a long time customer used to get me special service; at present most of the staff who work there are new but some how the quality of the service remains. (This is for the a/c section only)
The decor and ambiance might not be great but imperial has always served good food.

Went in here for a late night dinner since this was one of the places close by that was open late past midnight. And luckily, the place did manage to offer decent fare to quiesce our hunger pangs for the night!
The place was pretty crowded for the night, and getting a table did take some time and finally, got a seat in their upstairs AC seating area. The ambiance is strictly functional and people anyways don't expect a visual delight here so no complaints there.
Ordered Kerala Parotta,Paneer Butter Masala,Ghee Rice,Half Chicken Fry,Fresh Lime Juice,Fresh fruit juices. Most of what was ordered was pretty palatable and decently made and even the food here is pretty much a VFM fare!.
What honestly is a downer is their service, repeated calls and requests to order and all took a lot of time, most of the calls went ignored.Much improvement needed in this arena!
Overall, Imperial is pretty much a decent place for a quick fix dinner or lunch and nothing more. The prices are slightly on the heftier side but yes, improvements in service truly needed!Hope they do make amends on this count.
The restaurant offers delicious food in a pleasant ambiance with a separate family room, though prices are slightly higher.
Hotel Imperial, a classic and historic restaurant located on Residency Road in Bangalore. The restaurant has been around since 1950, and it is one of the oldest dining establishments in the city. Despite its age, the restaurant has managed to maintain a loyal following and expand to ten or so outlets across Bangalore. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple and unpretentious, with minimalistic decor and comfortable seating arrangements. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is prompt and efficient. The menu at Hotel Imperial is diverse, featuring a mix of Kerala, Mughlai, and Chinese cuisine. The restaurant is well-known for its kebabs, ghee rice, grilled chicken, and special parathas. Must try are sholay kabab, which was perfectly deep fried and spiced to perfection. The butter chicken was another standout dish that was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The special imperial biriyani is also a hit, with tender pieces of meat and fragrant rice. I also like the Ceylon paratha, which was flaky, buttery, and delicious. The only downside is the fish, which is not as fresh as I would have liked in the many times I have dinned in there. However, this was a minor issue, and it did not detract from the overall quality of the food. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant is open late into the night, making it a perfect spot for a late-night snack or meal.
In terms of value for money, Hotel Imperial is reasonably priced, and the portions are generous. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food, friendly service, and a cozy ambiance. Overall, my experience at Hotel Imperial was always excellent, and I look forward to returning soon to try more of their delicious dishes and fell the old good times had here.
Pepper Chicken half ₹195

All time favourite Ghee rice and chicken kabab
Perfect place for family Dining. Very impressed with excellent service provided by Naseer sir (floor manager) and staff who were quick on their feet for everything. Truly felt satisfied with the food as it was quick and delicious! Will definitely visit again.
The food served here is quite nostalgic and brings back the memories of childhood. It’s awesome how they’ve maintained the same taste over all these years.
Tastes great. I like their chicken kabab. I tried it after 4 years. Still same and good. Can be crowded during weekends. Works late night till 1 am.
Hotel Imperial at Residency Road in Bangalore.
These photos are from this outlet of this very popular joint. At midnight this restaurant was packed!!
Very tasty 😋 and unique preparations they have, mostly non veg.
I love kerala style parathas. Other dishes were average. The facility and service was awesome. Price was fine only based on location.

The food was not exceptional, but more than satisfactory. Ghee rice and kababs with some gravy (the free one will do just fine) is a good combo. Top it off with a glass of lime-tea.
Hotel Imperial on residency road is a spot to take your colleagues for a lunch or dinner. I had a great experience with the staff being polite. The place was well maintained. Parking is not an issue. Some really drooling food which was absolutely yummmmm😋 The spicy starters and the end with the ice creams and the shake was delicious. Affordable price and an overall good place to hop in.
Good food for non vegetarian but they also offer few vegetarian dishes. Most of the restaurants offer south Indian food in this area and this is the only place I found where I could get north Indian and Hyderabadi food along with local dishes. Best part is the faluda ice cream counter at the entrance. You may add your choice of ice cream to your Faluda.
Quick service, Food is AMAZING really recommend this place to anyone. Prices are quiet reasonable .
The cuisine here is incredibly delicious. The exceptional tangdi kabab, was impeccably prepared with just the right blend of spices. Adding to the experience was the outstanding service provided by the floor manager Nassar, who was remarkably hospitable and kind, making us feel truly at home. Thank you, Nassar bhai, for the exceptional service. The rest of the staff was also efficient and prompt.
Very good food & service delicious
