The Rogue Elephant - to start off with, let me tell you that the ambience is to die for. The perfect evening with some nature and some yummy dish. According to me this is the perfect combination. The crowd favorite's are the salads and the pasta here. Given the current situation they have maintained the safety standard's really well. The tables are far apart and the staff ensure that they have the mask on. The service is pretty quick and given the multiple classic options from the menu, you will have a tough time to give it a try. The staff is super professional and the service provided by them was impeccable. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were just perfect.
So today we tried the soup of the day, avacado and mangoe salad, pasta a la rouge, hummus pita falafel and tabbouleh, carrot cake, tea, brownie and ice cream

Looking for a place that brings you the peace amidst the chaos of the world? Then 'The Rogue Elephant' , located amidst the highly resided and crowded area of basavanagudi, surrounded by lushous greenery, is the answer for you. At first glance, it's hard to locate such a place but when you do it's one of the best place I have been too. With amazing food, hospitality, and ambience, this place is the epitome of fresh and quite place, where one can just go enjoy and relax. What makes this place special is the fact that they have 'different soup, different day' concept and 20% of their food is cooked at the owner's place, especially the desert carrot cake that we had. Also, it has amazing bohemian setup going on and a boutique within the premises where, if you want to take a break from eating their amazing food, you can go shop as well. The best dishes were corn chowder soup, seasonal (mango) smoothie, mango and avacodo salad, and the desert.

Probably spent one my best evening here recently with my wifey. Discovered this place on zomato while I was scrolling through and looking for a peaceful place to spend an evening.

Reached the place around 5 pm and found a suitable parking spot right in front of the cafe.

Chose a table for two and the staff (arun) was kind enough to guide us through, Coming right to the food we had skipped lunch and was super hungry..

Started with fresh fruit juices I took the mosambi and wifey took watermelon. The best part about these juices were that they had no sugar, no ice and no additional added water in it. They had a very natural flavour.

Next was the mango, avocado and almond salad, A seasonal spl recommended by the staff.. It looked stunning and photogenic and tasted brilliant as well...

Another star item was the wine sauteed mushrooms served with toast, Couldn't get enough of this one despite its large portion served.

For main course we had the pomodoro pasta made with farfalle pasta. It was soothing and good.

Last but not least, The cheesecake for dessert.. Small little portion that delighted the last bites of the meal for us.

Overall a peaceful evening with great food and conversations. Will be back here soon.

Highly recommended.

One of my most favorite places in Bangalore! Everything from the ambience to staff to food is just amazing in this place. As soon as you enter this place you experience peace and tranquil. Beautifully done up outdoor seating with a variety of plants.

The staff are well trained and responsive. Make sure you check out their store for some amazing stuff.

Coming to food, my favorite here is the grilled baby corn with lemon butter. A simple dish but absolutely delicious.
- Classic hummus and pita - well seasoned and well made pita bread
- Wine sautéed mushroom on toast - Portion size is huge nevertheless yummy
- Mango and Avocado salad is a must try during season - fresh and flavourful

For mains,
- Pasta a la rogue - A Creamy pink sauce pasta with vegetables - a good dish
- Thai Red curry and rice - I'm a Sucker for Thai curry and this didn't disappoint
- Veg Tangine with apricot and couscous - This dish was not to my liking though my friends really liked it
- Three bean Ragout with polenta rice - again the portion size is big and could have given this a miss.

Desserts
- The apple pie and ice cream is a classic and it was tasty. But the texture of the pie could have been better
- fresh fruit panacotta - a delight to the eyes and tongue

Overall a beautiful place serving soulful and delicious food.

The name is attractive. There, I have set the context. It is hip. It is new generation. It is fresh. Probably what the restaurant in itself stand for! Located in Basavanagudi, the place is a surprise once you enter! It is an old residential compound converted into this beautiful gem of a place – which houses a restaurant, a boutique and a green house! The moment you step inside, you will be greeted with a sense of belonging – like everything inside go together really well – the plants, the wooden tables, the colourful touches of show pieces carefully placed.

The cozy bistro, located in the main lane of,right opposite to Krishna Rao park..

It's a dreamy ambiance for all Bangalorians to get away from the traffic and there hustling life. Why GO? - For the Green and food off-course, There ambiance and ESPRESSO make a mandatory stop when I am around basavanagudi. Evening Espresso shot in the Greens is a must in this chic restaurant to the stars, With the gravel floor and palm shaded outdoor setting, melds beautifully & Oh, and don't forget the obligatory snap in the gravel floor where the cafe doubles as a plant nursery and boutique in the other corner, trust me no words for the entire boutique setup, no malls nor no showrooms can compete for the collections and the entire setup inside, hats off for the team for there effort and unique ideas.

Coming to the food:-

I must firstly thank Mr. Anand for such a kind attention towards us, he analysed what exactly we needed, which helped us to order fast there SPECIAL HOLIDAY MENU IS SIMPLY AMAZING.

We had,:-

Falafel with tabbouleh & Hummus- there homemade hummus is outstanding,, properly blended with tahini, with extra olive oil with the perfectly fried falafel and fresh green tabbouleh is simply amazing must try for the special homemade hummus. The simple food (Sandwich) actually made us more excited

Open faced Avocado, egg white and cheese sandwich- i should seriously thank anand for suggesting this, the sliced avocado on the top was so damn fresh, and mouthwatering, avocado with egg sandwich together went well, will definitely go back soon for this.

must talk about this dish-

Cajun roast chicken with smashed potato and apple

Comforting Roast Chicken with Sweet Potatoes and Apples is just the entree for feeding a hungry crowd, it was juicy, contain enough paprika flavor, the perfect flavor throughout the breasts, and spicy just enough to make you taste buds go crazy...

Walking into Rogue elephant is like entering another dimension in itself. Nestled amidst lush green gardens , complete with a nursery, aesthetic furniture and laid back vibes, this is a perfect place where you can unwind yourself.
The staff is extremely courteous and the fact that the owner himself takes it upon himself to make sure that you are having an good time is just cherry on the top.
We tried the in-house special Asian coconut soup which came with an array of toppings that made it more tasty. Very subtle flavour of coconut milk that lifted the taste of this soup (reminded me of a very toned down version of Khao Suey). Next we tried the falafel that came with the most delicious hummus that i have ever had, which on enquiry i got to know that they make it from scratch. Avacado and eggs on toast was also so good and the fact that the avacado used was fresh and ripened to the correct amount (which is a rarity). In main course we had the Cajun roast chicken with grilled pineapples and potato and apple salad. The chicken was still tender and juicy and the salad provided the acidity to balance the flavours out. Ended with the white chocolate pudding with the Bailey's sauce sprinkled on it, the sweetness was not too overpowering and thats how i love my dessert. Special mention to their espresso that's the best i have tasted in Bangalore.
Overall a throughly lovely experience, must visit place.

The Rougue Elephant, Basavanagudi, Bangalore
.
Visited this place last weekend with my wife after hearing a lot about this place that they are celebrating holiday season.
The place has outdoor open garden seating, making it really soothing to your eyes and mind.
All the plants and greenery keeps you fresh and relaxed while having your meal.
.
So we tried their Holiday Special Menu, of which some options were:
*Wine Mushroom Sauteed,
*Grape fruit and Green Apple Salad,
*Cajun Roast Chicken,
*White Chocolate pudding with Baileys sauce
We also tried some of the other dishes on the menu:
- Mango Avacado & Almond salad was to die for.
- Their soup of the day - Asian Coconut Soup was soo good.
- Fettuccini Alfredo pasta , with original cream and cheese sauce was just next level.
- Chicken Renaissance Sandwich is a must try here.
.
A place that i would recommend to go with friends and family, both.

Recently visited rogue elephant with my friend. Beautiful ambience and garden seating with fresh air. Service was very polite and friendly...staff are very well trained

I tried cajun fish fingers which was too yummy... perfectly cooked fish spicy and quantity was worth it.. also tried buffalo chicken wings which awesome. I tried the herb roast chicken with lemon butter sauce served with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies which was amazing. Best quality, quantity and taste. Perfect post workout meal also. Everything was fresh and chicken was cooked perfectly

Also tried the strawberry shake which I loved and chocolate shake.. desserts were nice- strawberry cake and bread pudding. Grapefruit salad was bit too sour but Greek salad was delicious. Loved the Alfredo fettuccine pasta also. We took half portion but even that was quite a bit. Very large quantity which I loved

I recommend it especially for meat lovers... you will love the food

The rogue elephant is an Café that strives to serve food with the freshest of produce and seasonal ingredients.
Recently visited their cafe and tried out a couple of their items. One thing I should mention before hand is that the portion size is huge and service is extraordinary!

We started off with their seasonal drink which was a strawberry smoothie. It was really fresh and tasty. They had used actual strawberries in it and I could taste the difference. We also tried the chocolate smoothie which was also nice.

They have launched a “Holiday Special Menu” for the month of December that features four dishes:

1) Wine sautéed mushrooms
2) Grapefruit and Green Apple Salad
3) Cajun spice chicken
4) White chocolate bread pudding with baileys sauce

Rogue elephant is known for their fresh salads. We tried the Greek salad topped with feta cheese which was really delicious. The veggies were crisp and really fresh. The dressing was perfect too.

The grapefruit and green apple salad was a bit too sour for our liking because grapefruit, green apple and the dressing were all sour.

We also tried half portion of the falafel with hummus and tabbouleh. The falafel was a tad dry and needed more flavour. The hummus needed a bit more tahini and lemon juice but texture was spot on. The tabbouleh was really good.

The wine sautéed mushrooms were delicious too.

My friend tried the buffalo chicken wings and Cajun fish fingers in the appetisers and he loved both. The fish fingers were fantastic.

In main course we tried half portion of alfredo fettuccine which was lip smacking. The sauce was cheesy and creamy. Pasta Susanna which was essentially farfalle tossed in walnut pesto was good too, needed a tad more salt but it was really fresh. Again the half portions here are as big as the full portions in many other places.

My friend tried the herb roast chicken in lemon butter sauce with mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies which he loved. He said that it was mind blowing, portion size was amazing and chicken was cooked to perfection.

In desserts we tried the strawberry cake which was delicious and moist. The white chocolate bread pudding with baileys sauce was nice, the baileys sauce was a bit too strong and I couldn’t taste the white chocolate though.

Overall loved the food here and it’s total value for money. If you want something fresh, organic and tasty this is the place to be!

I was always wanting to go here usually when I'm in South Bangalore but this time I went into this cosy place without any plans made! A warm welcome because it was Diwali time! Floral decoration along with the South Bangalore antique ambience invited us beautifully!

Such positive vibes. We ordered a salad, pasta Susana, baby corn starter and dessert - carrot cake with icecream. All these were yummy+healthy!

Service is great too!

Very nice place with some nice food. Uniquely antique style and pleasing ambiance. Had Nimbu Pani, Home Style Pizza, Alfredo Penne Pasta, Mushroom starter and Wedges.
The mushrooms with toast dish was just amazing. Pasta and wedges were good. Pizza was nothing special as it was a ready base but decent. Staff are very courteous which is very good.
Definitely a place to visit with friends or family. A gem of a place amidst a lot of green in Basavanagudi.

Finally visited this place after much planning...
The place is very calm and rustic ambiance ... the place is filled with plants , sculptures , vintage door frames and a cute green house where you can buy stuff.

About the food.. the avocado and mango salad is must try dish.. the dressing is Same for other salads as well which could be improved.
We tried the lemon butter chicken (must try chicken filled with flavours), hummus , pita and white sauce pasta ...
The food was amazing both in quality and taste 😋.
please do check for their dessert special... the toffee caramel cheesecake was delicious but the slice is very small and felt expensive.

The service is very slow.

The Rouge Elephant 🐘

The Rouge Elephant is an open air casual dining restaurant. This restaurant serves Italian & Mediterranean cuisines along with a variety of other Continental delicacies. The various ingredients and authentic herbs and spices instantly give you soul satisfying taste to the diners.

The Rouge Elephant has a simple & spacious ambience and is ideal for Continental food loves who like spending quality time with friends and loved ones. Located next to New Generation School in Basavanagudi.

Menu had varities of options like Starters, Salads, Open Faced Sandwiches, Old Favourites, Pasta, Sandwiches & Kati Rolls, Mains, Desserts, Beverage & Snacks.

I tasted
• Leek Potato Soup - Soup based on Potato & Leek with heavy cream. Potatoes were diced and cooked in broth where Leeks were cleaned, chopped & sauteed.

• Wine Sauteed Mushrooms - You can't go wrong with this combination of Butter, Mushrooms & Red Wine. It was perfect & unique in taste.

• Mix Vegetable Pakoda - Pakoda was perfect snack for the evening with Mint Chutney.

• Mango Avacado Almond Salad - Seasonal salad and tastes really amazing. The fresh mangoes and juicy Avacado made for each other combination. Almonds added a nice crunch to the dish and brought out a textural contrast which just made a perfect, nutritious & delicious.

• Fresh Fig & Savoury Pannacota Salad - Simple & Clean salad, the figs and salad leaves together with the balsamic glaze as the dressing made for an amazing combination. Savaury Pannacota added the much needed saltiness to balance of all flavours and made this salad delicious as well.

• Fettuccine Alfredo - Pasta dish made from fettuccine pasta tossed with parmesan cheese and butter. As cheese melts it emaulisfies the liquid to form a smooth & rich coating on the pasta.

• Vegetable Tagine with Cous Cous - Slow cooked North African stew of spiced Vegetable that's named after the ceramic pot it's traditionally cooked in. Cous Cous was hot served.

• Toffee Cheesecake - Fresh & Chill served Coffee cheesecake.

Overall a nice place where we can relax and calm yourself after a busy week. It's a good option to go with friends & family or even with your date.

The Rogue Elephant, one of the best outdoor cafes in South Bangalore. They have retained the old Bangalore charm since the beginning like more than 10 years.

Ambience: it's simple and gives the vintage look, they have some 10-12 tables which can accommodate around 60 people in one shot.
The palce was so crowded and we waited for almost 15-20 mins.

Coming to food, started with soup (Potato and leek soup) which was creamy and tasty along with it we had mixed vegetable pakora which was so apt for the climate,Wine sauted Mushroom one of the signature dish here was just awesome Mushroom lovers should definitely try this dish, then comes the salads Mango Avacado salad and Fresh Fig+Savoury Pannacotta salad which was mouth watering and really yummy, Mango Avacado salad is seasonal but must try, then the main course Feltuccini Alfredo pasta was so creamy and well tossed one of the best pasta that I have tasted.
All time favourite thats the desserts, we had Toffee cheesecake which had three layers which was awesome!

Totally Amazing place and tasty food.

Rogue Elephant, a quaint and an artistic cafe located in Basavanagudi is an ideal destination to dine at. The cafe is in an old mansion and has been successfully operational from the last 10 years. Ambiance is simple and has vintage looks all around. It can accommodate around 50 -75 pax at any point of time. There are also other shops in the vicinity which sells sustainable and eco-friendly products.

On a bright Sunday afternoon, the cafe was packed and was lucky to get a table soon. Menu had lots of options to choose from Italian, Mediterranean and variety of other Continental delicacies.

Soup

-Potato & leek soup
Potato Leek Soup combines potatoes, leeks and broth for a simple and a refreshing soup. This was light and quite tasty too.

Salads
- Mango and Avocado salad
A combination of cut mango pieces, avocado, lettuce and almonds sprinkled with honey, mustard sauce and dried raisins. This was one of the finest salads I've had and its a must try here!

- Fig and savory panna cotta salad
A first instance of me having the savory pannacota and this was fantastic! Fig complements well with the savory part and a lot of lettuce is added in this salad.

Starters

-Wine sauteed mushroom on a toast
Button mushrooms sauteed with wine and a pinch of masala along with a couple of bread toasts. This is not a regular mushroom appetizer and its on the sweeter side.

- Veg Pakoda
Perfect for the Bangalore weather, these perfectly fried pakodas were fantastic and complemented well with the green chutney.

Mains

-Fettuccine Alfredo
Fettuccine Alfredo, made with a rich creamy, garlic-infused parmesan sauce and tender in house pasta, a comfort food at it’s finest! Fettuccine Alfredo is Fettuccine pasta smothered in Alfredo sauce. This is a must try here.

-Vegetable Tagine with Couscous
A Vegetable stew along with the perfect balance of Moroccan flavors paired with couscous. This was quite bland and can be improved.

Dessert

-Toffee Cheesecake, a simple cheese cake with the perfect balance of toffee flavor alongside fantastic texture and glaze on top! This was quite delicious.

Overall, Rogue Elephant is a must visit place and would definitely reccomend this cafe. Its got considerable seating, fantastic service and priced a bit on the higher side.

As distinctive and unique, this place is amazing just not with food they serve, but it's way of preserving the Charm of Old Bangalore and grandeur in Art and ambiance.
A mansion converted to a cafe with lots of Greenery and stone tables, this is amazing place. Adjectives are not enough to describe the charm and impeccablity of the The Rogue Elephant. As the name suggests, this is unique as its own and one of a kind

Coming to the food, started with a Potato and Leek soup which was refreshing and the came the Pakodas which are crisp and modern. The wine sauted mushrooms take a special place, where the mushrooms are tossed perfectly and spiced amazingly well with a coat of wine.

The main thing which attracted me here were the Salads, Mango Avacado Salad and The Fig Walnut salad. Fresh mangoes and avacados with lettuce and a special mustard make this outstanding. Fig and walnut salad is one of a kind and definitely has to be tasted.

Pasta here is served with the best Alfredo which is made in house and can not be found anywhere in Bangalore. The authenticity of the Alfredo can be detailed with another article😂

Wonderful Toffee Cheesecakes are must for dessert and have the bloody good espresso with it for an American Style dessert. I have had my best Espresso here.

I love everything about this place except the price for quantity they provide.

The soup that was suggested to us was damn good. The lasagna and Thai curry was better than many big restaurants. We tried few more from the lists and taste was never a problem.

But I would be great if they can increase the quantity as price seems to be more.

I would give this place a 4.5 for providing us such a tasty food.

Will definitely visit them soon :)

The ambience of this place is too..good, a thick green carpet! We had been to this place on a hot summer day but it was so pleasant. The décor is lovely. The food tasted good and is quite filling. I found the pricing a little expensive. They have a store too.

This place has such a comfy and welcoming vibe and it’s a real pleasure to eat here. I’d heard about it several times from a friend and finally managed to go there when I was in the area. What we had:

1. Mango Avocado Salad: This salad is really famous and it completely lived up to its popularity. It is bright and perfect for a summer day. They mangoes and avocados used were fresh. The dressing was also delightful, with a hint of mustard and slight acid.
Rating: 5/5

2. Falafel with Hummus: This was decent enough. The falafels were a bit hard for my liking but the hummus was smooth and tasty.
Rating: 4/5

3. Baked Baby Corn: This was quite average. It was pretty tasteless with the seasoning just being salt and chilli powder. The accompanying sauce was fine though - it was butter and lime based.
Rating: 2.5/5

4. Thai Red Curry and Rice: This was average as well. Good selection of vegetables but the gravy could have been more flavourful.
Rating: 3.5/5

5. Mango Pannacotta: I felt that this had a great mango flavour and the consistency of the panna cotta was also perfect. However, it had a little too much sugar for my liking.
Rating: 3.5/5

I visited this place last weekend for brunch, and had a really nice time. It's the ambience of the place that steals your heart. The setup is like that of a garden area, right in the midst of nature, and it feels nice and peaceful. They have a garden shop right beside the café where they even have a dog. It has a decent amount of seating and serves some really fresh food. While the food was nice, I wouldn't call it the best, but there were still some dishes that really mesmerized us all. All their desserts are made by the owner, and they taste amazing. You absolutely must try them before you leave the place. That being said, the following section gives a brief overview of all the dishes that we tried:

Filter Coffee (8.5/10) - Nice option to start the day, or even to sip along with the meal. Decently priced and great tasting even without the addition of sugar.

Cold Coffee (8.5/10) - If hot coffee isn't your cup of tea, then you must try this. This also had a rich coffee flavor, but was served cold. It had the perfect consistency in terms of being neither too rich nor too runny.

Mango, Avocado and Almond Salad (9/10) - This is a seasonal salad and boy did this taste amazing. The fresh mangoes and the rich avocadoes made for a mesmerizing combination. The addition of almonds added a nice crunch to the dish and brought out a textural contrast which just made it perfect, nutritious and very delicious.

Cajun Fish Fingers with Tomato Salsa (6/10) - This was not up to the mark. The fish was rather dry and less in salt. Avoidable.

Signature Fig and Savoury Pannacotta Salad (8.5/10) - Another decent salad, the figs and salad leaves together with the balsamic glaze as the dressing made for an amazing combination. The savoury pannacotta added the much needed saltiness to balance of all the flavours and made this salad delicious as well.

Falafel with Hummus (8.5/10) - These were quite nice and not oily at all. The hummus was delicious, smooth and creamy and it tasted amazing even with the pita alone.

Chicken, Apple and Celery on Toast (8/10) - A decent option, this was served with potato wafers. These were open sandwiches that had a chicken and celery mixed in a mayo like dressing and spread on a toast. Finely sliced apple pieces were then placed on these and served. Overall nice combination with a mix of sweet and spicy flavours, and quite rich with the mayo.

Thai Grilled Chicken with Green Mango Relish and Herb Rice (8.5/10) - The meat was so nicely cooked, that it was just falling off the bones. Not that it lacked flavours, but the intensity of flavours could have been slightly more. The green mango relish was mostly grated green mango with a vinaigrette dressing, while the herbed rice were again mellow in terms of flavours, but perfectly cooked. A good try if you want a clean dish!

Carrot Cake and Ice Cream (8.5/10) - The carrot cake was served nice and warm, and was really moist. It made for the most comforting combination with vanilla ice cream.

Mango Pannacotta (9/10) - Served in a cutting chai glass, this was pure bliss. They used fresh mangoes which was so evident in the flavour. The texture was nice and rich, and the gelatin used was absolutely perfect. As a result it was neither too hard and jelly like, nor too soft and runny like a thick soup. The garnishing with fresh mango slices not only added to the presentation but also reinstated the freshness which this had! Absolutely must have!

Nutella Delight (9/10) - Another great dessert in terms of textures. This was basically like a chocolate mousse but they had used Nutella for all the chocolatey flavour. The only drawback if any was that this was a bit too sweet. But if you love Nutella, just blindly order this!

Overall a nice place where you can relax and calm yourself after a busy week. It's a great option to visit both with family or friends, or even with your date. Some dishes are just amazing, and the price is quite decent.

Basavanagudi is one the oldest and Beautiful parts of Bengaluru and this place is also has a similarity. It's been there for about 10 years now and the beauty of the place is first best thing. With so many unique plants the greenery is spread all around BASAVA under which there are three outlets. One being the plants store - "Greenery", The other being the Cafe - "The Rogue Elephant", and finally the fashion boutique - "Basava".

The Menu is limited so yeah there won't be any confusion on what to order🤭

Mango, Avacado & Almond Salad : The besttttt salad I have ever had. It's the season of the king of fruits and it can't get any better. Specially the kids would enjoy it the most.

Fig & Savoury Panacotta Salad : Again the best for the kids. Never knew fig in the salad would be so good to eat. It's healthy and soothes the heart and soul.

Chicken, apple and Celery on Toast : Another healthy and yummy Option to go for. This was decent.

And their signature Falafel with Tabbouleh & Hummus is a must try. Love their Hummus.

Thai grilled chicken with mango relish - Herb rice served with the grilled chicken and green mango shavings.

Among the Desserts loved their Mango panacotta and the Carrot cake. The best part is the carrot cake is baked in house by the owner herself. It's served with Icecream.

Only Complaint is about the service. There were only 2 waiters taking orders and getting food which obviously ended up in the delay. That's something they have to improve upon.

It deserves a 5* mainly coz of it's ambiance & the aura this restaurant has.
Food & service must be improved.

This is one of the oldest gem of South Bangalore. It's been over 10years now.
I'm a huge sucker for garden restaurants or open space restaurants. Have visited this place a couple of times.
With the increasing traffic & lot of pollution in Bangalore. This one is a must visit place to have a peaceful meal. It is beautiful surrounded by greenery & a very calm palce.

👉 Some of the must try dishes:
💁 The seasonal smoothie
💁 Mango Avocado & Almond Salad
💁 Fig & Savoury Pannacotta Salad
💁 Falafel with tabbouleh and hummus
💁 Devil's egg
💁 Med veg with pesto sandwich

👉 Desserts are a must try here. All the desserts are made by the owner herself. It is very delightful & yummy.
💁 The carrot cake with ice Cream: it's one of its kind & the warm carrot cake with ice cream was just too good.
💁 The Mango Pannacotta: when its the mango season, try everything that has mango. It was the drool worthy. Got over in seconds & ordered for another one.

The service can be improved. It was slow. Few more dishes can be added to the menu.
Over all had a very good experience. Just loved the place and the aura of it. Best outdoor seating restaurant.
Must go for date night or lunch if it's not too hot.
Will be coming for more.

Rogue Elephant is a surreal place to have a calm, relaxed, peaceful meal. Located in Basavangudi, the place has that aura which makes you want to have good food and enjoy the nature.

I started with the mango shake and the mango smoothie, both very organic and pure, by that I mean, no added color, sugar or any kind of flavour, the taste depended exactly on how the mangos were. So the both the drinks weren’t as sweet as you will get from a fast food joint or any commercialised restaurant. Both of them were thick and full of mango goodness, they do give sugar cubes along incase you want more sweetness!

Then came the Mango Avacado and Almond salad, this is a MUST TRY here. Complete with the goodness of all the above 3 ingredients, it has lettuce too. It tasted tangy, refreshing and delicious! One salad that isn’t full of leafy vegetables and is plain and dry!

Then the Signature Fig and Savoury Panacotta Salad! There was walnut in it too! This was also an amazing salad too! Really delectable!

Falafel with tabbouleh and hummus was the next dish! All four parts of the dish - Pita, Hummus, falafel and tabbouleh were too good! Falafel wasn’t too dry to be honest, a spread of hummus with olive oil in between with a couple of olives, the hummus was indeed delicious!

For main course we had the veg tagine with apricot served with cous cous. I loved the little pieces of apricot in the tagine and one whole aubergine in it, it was a delightful change from the usual mains. The cous cous was served with caramelised onions! Overall a good different dish to order!

In desserts, the carrot cake is baked by the owner herself! Served along with vanilla ice cream. The carrot cake was a delight to have! Like little pieces of cloud! It was delicious and when accompanied with ice cream, it accentuated the taste manifolds!

Then came in the Mango Panacotta! You gotta try whatever you can when it comes to mangoes, right!? Absolutely delightul! Extra special was the 4 mango slices on the top! That made the taste of the panacotta even better! I loved it!

The staff at the Rogue elephant is really helpful and courteous, I feel the place is a little understaffed, but the services were still fast!

The place is priced a little on the higher side, but that’s okay for what you are getting and where you are getting!

I would definitely come back to this place for some amazing ambience and amazing food!

The Rogue Elephant- a old player in the industry with over 10 years of expertise in serving the patrons.

Located at Basavanagudi just behind Madhawan Park, this place takes you by surprise with the outdoor seating, perfect blend with nature and of course some great lip smacking food.

The open air space can accommodate around 55-60 patrons at full capacity with some seating spread under canopy and the others under a umbrella for shade. Spread under the trees, the place helps you to unwind at ease with the cool breeze

The Service is top notch with the Servers ready to go the extra mile in keeping the patrons happy. The constant checking on tables during the course by the servers speaks volumes about the commitment towards our experience.

The ambience, the food and the Service speaks for itself about the Owner’s passion and dedication towards the place.

Started with-

1.Seasonal Soothie- Mango(Fruit of the Season)...absolutely joy.

The Soup-

1.Asian Coconut Soup-a Classic Vegetarian soup done to perfection.

The Starters-

1.Fig and savoury pannacotta salad(balsamic reduction drizzle )- perhaps the finest, edible and the best. Try it to believe it.Personally hate Salads to the core, but this one is a exception.MUST TRY
2.Classic hummus and pita bread- a other dish whipped out with pride from the Chef. A joy to relish.
3.Pan fried fish with lemon butter sauce - Chef...take a bow for you just raised the bar. A perfect dish on taste and presentation...WOW😋

The Dessert

1.Mango pannacotta - Fresh ,sinfully tasty with fresh mango pieces on top served in a Chai glass.

Reservations recommended as the place gets filled too quickly.

Both Cash and Cards accepted .A outing for 2 would cost around Rs 1200-1500/-.

Kid friendly.

No Alcohol Available

As of me,would definitely go back for their warm hospitality, great food and top notch service.

Foodies out there,bookmark this place...

Bangalore Has Many Hidden Gems & I Am Happy To Have Discovered One More, The Rogue Elephant. This cafe is An Airy Green Space Canopied By A Large Tree. The Place Is More Than Just Beautiful & The Food Served Here Hits All The Right Notes.

On a sunny Bangalore afternoon, we thirsty bunch ended up here, for a round of summer quenchers and some light food.

The watermelon juice was just that, no syrups, no added sugar, beautiful sweet, and not even extra cold, in fact we had to ask for a few ice cubes.

The cold coffee here might sound very plain, but it’s better than any frappe from the chains, personally I found it a little sweet, but am sure that could be customised to one’s taste.

To kick off the meal, I started off with a soup of the day & a salad. A Bright & Beautiful Summer Salad With Buttery Avocados & Delicious Ripe Mangos With toasted almonds in a bed of Kasundi tossed iceberg lettuce, it was perfection in terms of presentation as well in terms of taste.

The soup of the day was a flavourful Asian soup, inspired by the Burmese khowsuey, a delicious broth with strong flavours of Myanmar in a mild textured soup.

The pita with hummus is something that was recommended & am glad we listened & tried them. Thin little fluffy pitas served with a textured, creamy well seasoned hummus, one of the best in Bangalore I must say.

For mains I ordered the Thai Green Curry, though I was warned that south East Asian is not their specialty and I should try their Italian fare. Being adamant I did have the Thai curry, which was good, but not very delicious as I would have expected it to be.

I sampled a bit of The Cajun Grilled Chicken & Thai Grilled Chicken from my friends. Both the dishes were great but what I loved even more were the potato salad served aside and the raw mango, papaya relish. Absolutely delightful with the mains.

Desserts were a level apart altogether, the mango Panacotta was delicious and smooth as silk, with a creamy texture.

The Caramel Top Cheesecake was simple & delicious. The homemade Carrot cake was warm & super delicious, especially with some decadent ice cream.

To end such a wonderful meal, we finished off with a coffee affagato, which is essentially an espresso shot with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. As the hot espresso shot is being turned into a less warm liquid every minute, slowly I was drinking the coffee that is dipping in its Temperature with every sip, becoming better, better, and better.

This hidden gem is a must explore if you are in Bangalore.

ROGUE ELEPHANT is a cute little place surrounded by Greenery all around in Basavanagudi. i love the location of the place because it is very peaceful and calm here. Even while i write this review i have that place in mind and that's why i'm writing it in a calm way and you all should definitely check this place out.
Coming to the start of my review

1) The ambience here is just wow, there's so much greenery and freshness at The Rogue Elephant. You're really just surrounded with Greenery,Fresh Air with Birds Chirping. Although there is Crowd here the place has that quiteness. People are just engaged with their conversation and that's how this place has a nice nice of. Normal seatings and nothing fancy but the calmness and freshness is whats fancy about this place. Totally worth checking it out ❤️ The bathroom is so clean and hygienic.

2) Service was a delight for me. it was Quick and everything was bought to the tables and my water was constantly being filled without even me asking for it which i loved alot and not many places do that. Plates being changed for each course of the meal.

3) Staff Behaviour was just Amazing, very very friendly people whom you could just bump into and start a conversation and welcoming staff. always there's a smile on their faces. Beautiful i tell you! ❤️

4) Best thing about this place is that it doesn't require music and also music is anyways not played here. Best without Music this place is as it's a conversation type of place.

5) Food was kept simple in presentation but taste wise some were good and some couldn't get onto the MUST TRY list! I felt that the Cajun Grilled Chicken needed more flavouring and little less cooking and same for Thai Grilled Chicken, Cold Coffee needed a bit more strength on the coffee i felt as I'm a strong coffee person 😀 but apart from that all of their other dishes were amazing to try it out. I loved the Asian Coconut Soup,Pita and Hummus 👌 and their Hummus was a proper Hummus. for me the Avocado and Mango Salad nailed it ❤️ overall good food is available here 👌

MUST TRY :

Asian Coconut Soup
Avocado and Mango Salad with Kasundi Mustard and Honey Dressing
Hummus and Pita
Fresh Mango Pannacotta
Toffee Topped Cheesecake
Nimbu Pani
Espresso Affogato
Cold Coffee ( Cuz others loved it alot so try it out )

MY RATING : 4.5/5

Ambience : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Staff Behaviour : 5/5
Food : 4/5

That's it for my review, thanks for reading!

Are you looking for a cool place on a hot summer afternoon, here is your choice:

This restaurant is in the center of the old- worldly and charming area of Bangalore South, Basavangudi. It is right across the Krishna Rao park, one of the reasons for this restaurant to be so calm and serene.

We started out at this restaurant with some sun brewed ice tea and a cold coffee. We moved on to our appetizer with a wine sauteed mushroom on toast, which was absolutely delicious to the last bite. We moved on to the salad of mango, avocado and almond seasonal which is seasonal and would never regret ordering it. It is healthy and too good. We ended our lunch with a half portion of lasagna which was tasty to the last bite.

They have a friendly and excellent service. All these dishes were recommended to us and each of them were so good. They are so good with their service and treated us so well. They were really personal and so nice with us. I would definitely like a repeat of all these dishes on my next visit.

It may look pricey but it is definitely not for the quality of the food they provide us with. Would definitely recommend this place.

The Rogue Elephant
, most certainly a hidden gem located in Basavanagudi.

This is a garden themed outdoor seating restaurant. Surrounded with lush greenery, clean, very calm, pleasant and peaceful environment. The ambiance of this place is very minimal yet elegant, the service is surprisingly quick.

Visited on a weekend for lunch, this place attracts good crowd, The cuisine here is Italian and Asian.

Started with Mango, Avocado & Almond salad, Very refreshing and healthy, slices of Mango and Avocado with roasted almonds and raisins topped on lettuce and sprinkled with honey and spices. Would highly recommend it.

Falafel with tabbouleh and hummus, Fan of labanese food, then this is a must try dish, one of the best hummus in the city.

Fettuccine alfredo pasta, not a big pasta fan but absolutely loved this, the creamy cheesy flavors just a delight!!

Home style mutton curry with seasoned rice, would highly recommend, this dish actually reminded me of mutton curry that's prepared in my house, very good flavors and spices, just amazing.

Finally for desserts had Carrot cake & Ice cream and Strawberry panna cotta, do not miss the the strawberry panna cotta, it's a seasonal dessert which is just a treat!!

Had a pleasant dining experience, the menu is very long with some really tempting dishes. Can't wait to visit and try more of their other dishes.

Bon Appetit!!

**Hidden Gem Alert**

Went to this cosy little cafe for Sunday lunch with a friend and had an amazing experience. The cafe is located in Basavanagudi and is amidst nature, you can hear the birds chirping nearby. The cafe has outdoor seating in the garden and it exuberates a French cafe vibe. It is perfect place for brunches with your friends or date.

For starters we had their much sorted after hummus and pita. The hummus was creamy and flavorful but the pita bread could have been a bit more moist.

Then we had another one of their speciality, avocado, mango and almond salad. It was really refreshing and the prunes in the salad added a kick to it.

For mains I had the Pan fried fish in lemon butter sauce and my friend had Thai curry. The fish was divine. It is hands down one of the best fish dishes that I have tasted in a restaurant. I can just come back to have this again. It was served with sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes.

The Thai curry on the other hand could have been of a bit more thick consistency. It was served with flavoured rice.

For dessert I tried their home baked cheesecake. Though it looks a bit rough around the edges but it was super delicious. All the desserts that is served in the restaurant is baked by the co-owner of the cafe and by the taste of what I had I can guess the other desserts will also be yummy.

To accompany our meal we had their fresh watermelon juice and mango smoothie. Both contained real fruit and no syrup and were very refreshing.

There is a Greenhouse in the cafe from where you can purchase cute miniature landscapes and potted plants. There's also a boutique there with handcrafted gift items, handloom sarees, silver jewelries and organic products.

It is one of the hidden places in Bangalore which should must be visited. You can indulge yourself with your family and friends in clean surroundings, lush green bushes and can spend time in the cute potted shop and a hand crafted shop.
This beautiful place is located in Basavanagudi, opposite to Krishna Rao park.
Coming to the food,
1)Again coconut soup: this was really the best and I would really recommend to tatse this. The soup had the fresh coconut milk flavour with some of the spices. Add-ons are given separately with it so that you can customize it!
2) Signature fig and savoury pannacotta salad: you will really feel refreshed and light when you eat this. The salad had lettuce leaves served with fresh fig and pannacotta spread in the syrup.
3) penne pommodoro pasta: this is a penne pasta with tomato and basil sauce. Was good:)
4) Apple pie with vanilla ice cream: the apple pie was hot and couldn't really find any fault in this dessert! You can feel hot and cold at a time in your mouth in ever spoon you put!
5) Strawberry smoothie: the smoothie was really thick and good :) liked it.

Service: was quick.

A great place to relax and enjoy a quiet meal close to natural surroundings.... the best part is its ambience... there is absolutely no over the top decor or interior... it’s kept really subtle and rustic...

The staff is extremely friendly and courteous.. They want to know whether or not you like the food which is a thumbs up for any restaurant I visit...

Coming to the food... it’s absolutely fresh and finger licking good... very close to home cooked food... there is a variety of dishes to choose from... there something interesting for everyone...

What a place it is. It will take you on a trip to old royal Bangalore with clean surroundings, lush green plantations, hand-crafted potted plants shop, handicrafts shop around. The restaurant part is what I will talk about here. The food was amazing. This place is famous for its salad. We tried Mango, avocado and almond salad and their signature fig and savoury pannacotta salad. Just one word for them- Amazing.
We ordered grilled baby corn with lemon butter, paneer pakoda and potato wedges with cheesy garlic bread for starters. Paneer pakodas were so soft and delicious.
In the mains, we tried red thai curry with fried rice and vegetable home-style pizza. The pizza was awesome. It reminds me of the mom style cooked pizza at home, filled with veggies, a successful attempt of mommies to feed veggies to kids.
The best part was the strawberry pennacotta. I loved it here. The apple pie was equally delicious.
I highly recommend this place.

This is one standout restaurant located in the sleepy yet charming old Bangalore area of Basavangudi. Just like it’s name, the offerings here are off the mainstream path; with the menu comprising of some fusion flavours across the sections which are worth a relish Visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch and was impressed with the al fresco vibe, especially the green foliage that embraces you. The open seating under the tin roof shelters and the umbrellas transported me to the old world charm that Bangalore once possessed Coming to food, we tried the following for starters: ➡️the sweet potato and carrot soup which was the soup of the day. Very creamy, flavourful and on point in terms of spice. ➡️Next we ordered the home style 🍕- loaded which fresh veggies but the base was doughy. Overall a decent attempt. For the mains we had : ➡️the mango and avocado salad, which was excellent. The mustard dressing adding an aromatic undertone to the dish💯 ➡️tandoori chicken- which was the dish of the day. It was indeed the best dish on the menu, chicken perfectly cooked ✅ ➡️home style mutton curry with rice, this was the best mutton curry I had in a while; loved the gravy, it was not the regular blended gravy but had a punch of spice coming through and coated the mutton superbly 👌🏼💯 Lastly, we wrapped up the meal with the in house baked carrot cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream 🍨. Very good👍🏼 . . With that said, this place is more that just food as it offers you an unpretentious ambience and an avenue to soak up the vibe and have a meal in peace. No loud background music, no unnecessary commotion of guests. Just a perfect refuge from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore. That’s what makes this place standout. Will certainly visit again !

I recently visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon with my friends. I expected it to be a usual cafe but to my surprise it had a lot to offer. For the starters we had mango avocado salad- this was by far the most versatile dish I ever tried, the classic hummus and pita - this did full justice to the classic dish, teriyaki chicken wings - the sauce was excellent but I did not enjoy the chicken as much, avocado, white egg and cheese sandwich- simple yet tasty. For the main course we tried Thai grilled chicken with mango relish and herb rice - again the sauce was great but the texture of chicken was not satisfactory, fish served with derivative of hollandaise sauce, broccoli and baby potatoes - I would revisit this restaurant for this dish, vegetable tart served with fresh avocado lettuce salad and potato fries - another delicious dish. Lastly, in desserts we tried their strawberry pannacotta - this did not have the pannacotta wobbly texture but tasted great and carrot cake with ice cream - I would highly recommend this dessert. The overall experience was enhanced by the lovely stories shared by the restaurant owner who educated us about the history of the food and the restaurant. I would like to complement the restaurant staff who are efficient and polite. Not to forget the clean and hygienic washrooms. Parking is available outside the restaurant but at owner’s risk. There is no dedicated restaurant parking. I had a great time with my friends at the restaurant with great food.

Such great experience with food I did not have in a very long time.. it is a must visit. We ordered all the specials of the day as recommended by Mr Anand, who runs the place. Though everything had great balanced flavours, freshly sourced ingredients and delightful mouthfeel some definitely stood out and they are a must try 1. hummus and pita - smooth creamy hummus with very slight hint of garlic 2. Mango avocado salad - one of the best salad I ever had.. sweet mango with avocado and broccoli topped with Bengali styled mustard sauce(kashundi) and nuts and resins 3. Grilled Fish in bearnaise sauce with baby potato and broccoli.. a fish steak baked and grilled to perfection 4. Spinach corn tart 5. Toasted bread with eggs avocado and cheese 6. Strawberry pannacotta- with fresh strawberries 7. Affogato (espresso with ice cream ) - a heavenly delight and a perfect end

I can say this is one of the hidden gem of a place in basavanagudi. Located right opposite to Krishna Rao park it is in a 120yr old property which is surrounded by greenery. Simply vintage style ambience. They have an open roof and closed roof Seating. Mango, avacado and almond salad are really a must try. Food is really good in whatever items that we tried felt like very homely food. Tomato soup, grilled baby corn with lemon butter, med veg Pesto sandwich was good in veg starters. The cooler and milkshake was good. Mushroom main course was also tasty. Triple layer pudding was shop stopper very mild sweet and rich in cream, jelly and resins. Owner was very sweet and humble and interacted with every customer and was passionate about explaining his dishes. A bit on the expensive side.

Very seldom one decides to travel from one end of the city to the other just to grab a bite, but very seldom one gets to experience the charm and warmth of the culinary establishment, that is The Rogue Elephant. CLASSIC HUMMUS & PITA: Easily the smoothest hummus that I’ve had in a long time. So much so that we decided to retain it on the table after finishing the pita bread. WINE SAUTÉED MUSHROOM ON TOAST: Cooked in a generous amount of wine, one will love this if they’re a fan of experimenting with regular ingredients. The bread was tasted perfectly and coupled really well as a crunchy element to the soft and delicate mushrooms. TERIYAKI WINGS: This one’s going to get your hands dirty. The chicken smothered in the teriyaki sauce will definitely remind you of an old-school sports bar kind of finger food. MANGO, AVOCADO & ALMOND SALAD: It was the perfect weekend breakfast snack that one could wish for. There was this amalgamation of ‘tarti-ness’ and creaminess in the salad because of the mango and avocado. The almond was getting the dish together beautifully with its crunchiness. SPINACH & CHEESE TART: Served with a fresh avocado-tomato-lettuce salad and fries, this veg special hit it out of the park for all of us. I’m not a big fan of creamy tarts but this savoury delight was an exception. This dish was swiped off the plate in no time and for good reason. SPAGHETTI WITH SUNDRIED TOMATO & CHILLI PESTO: On the first look, this pasta did overwhelm us a bit with its dark red appearance but the taste was just the opposite of its aggressive facade. The mild flavors of the sundried tomatoes mingled really well with the pesto to give a very humble and wholesome bite to the spaghetti. SOLE FISH WITH BÉARNAISE SAUCE & BABY POTATOES: This particular dish came straight from the heart of Mr. Anand. The joy with which he described the procedure to create the perfect béarnaise sauce was almost infectious. And unsurprisingly, it led to the beautiful marriage between the grilled fish and the creamy rich derivative of the hollandaise sauce. The baby potatoes were definitely a surprise and we welcomed it with open arms as it only made the taste better. This dish is the restaurant’s special for a reason. THAI GRILLED CHICKEN WITH GREEN MANGO RELISH & HERB RICE: If there was 1 dish that could have got a bit better, it was the grilled chicken. I felt that the sauce could have penetrated a lot more into the chicken than it did. The dish was nowhere near being dismal, thanks to the flavorful herbed rice and the tangy green mango relish, but it couldn’t live up to the standards set by the other dishes. AVOCADO, EGG WHITE & CHEESE OPEN SANDWICH: If there’s 1 thing that the chefs at The Rogue Elephant excel at, it is the usage of avocados in their dishes. This was the 3rd variant of the highly beneficial fruit that we tasted and this also had its own character. It doesn’t happen very often when a humble open sandwich with few ingredients has so many layers to offer to the diner. If you’re going for a quick bite, then don’t forget to order this one. CARROT CAKE & ICE CREAM: The airy cake was served mildly hot with the vanilla ice-cream. I wouldn’t forget the cake for some time as the sweet element in it was just perfect, not too less and not too much. Very few eateries get a carrot cake right but you would know at the first bite that the personnel in the kitchen know their stuff when it comes to desserts. STRAWBERRY PANNA COTTA: If you’re one of those who thinks that a panna cotta needs to wobble for it to be the perfect one, then your bubble will burst by the way they serve it. This strawberry brilliance is served in a typical old school chai glass filled almost to the brim. Each bite made us crave for even more and none of us felt guilty about over-eating after relishing this masterpiece. ESPRESSO AFFOGATO: We culminated our meal with an espresso affogato as Mr. Anand insisted on trying at least 1. Affogato literally translates to drowned and drowned was the sweet vanilla ice-cream in the bitter sea of espresso.

I loved the serene ambiance of this dining spot. The mushroom toasties were simply irresistible, and the overall food was incredibly delicious. The service was top-notch, making the experience even more enjoyable. The only drawback was the absence of parking, which can be inconvenient. Nevertheless, it's a great place to savor tasty dishes and unwind.

Location : it’s 15 mints(2-3km) walk from Lalbhag. The place is built with side partition of some property and as seen in pictures lot of pots , trees are used for restaurant decoration. The place was clean and quite with natural light and air. Food and service - the menu is limited and over priced for lot of items eg: one Palak paneer gravy and chapatti costs 450 rupee. Service was quick and food was tasty I will give 4.5 rating for food taste . Vegetarian food is only available here and Must try mushroom toasties. Overall experience was 3.5/5 , Not highly recommended.

A very cozy, soothing ambience during the nights, good food. Not so pricey. Veg options could have been more and the closing time could be a little late ( closes at 9:30). Was a little messy when it was raining, there were technically three tables. Rest were wet.
