Beautiful ambience with a great hospitality and amazing cuisines ☺️
Beautiful ambience with fantastic hospitality and amazing food✌️
Rice bowl was good. Whenever I want to eat simple food for lunch I prefer rice bowl for it’s sufficient quantity and taste.
Ambiance and food here is great. Staff is also very well behaved and helpful nature. Food and beverage was brought quickly after order was placed. Should definitely visit this place.
The rice bowl is a restaurant in hotel southern star. They are famous for their chinese food and it surely is correct. Chicken lemon coriander soup and chicken lollipop are really flavorful dishes to order. Quite happy with the meal here.
This place never fails to please. Excellent service and if you are a fan of Indian Chinese, you are missing something if you haven't been here. You know a place is awesome when your kids eat more than they generally do. In times when restaurants fail to keep up to their standards, this place is an example of how a restaurant can successfully run for years with high quality service and food
The staff is very friendly and accommodating
Brian was excellent at lunch this afternoon, extremely cordial and very helpful with food selection, thanks Brian 😊
The ambiance is pleasant, very courteous and friendly staff. They take care of every small need and make you very comfortable. The food is delicious, We had ordered Wonton Soup, steamed Wontons, Butter Garlic noodles with Vegetable in sauce and Ginger fried rice. I liked all the dishes. There was a fresh taste of different ingredients used in the food. I visited this place like after 10yrs last week and its still a great place for food. Kuddos to the team.
Had a pleasant experience. The wait staff treated us courteously. Food was tasty and customized to our taste. Brian helped us have an excellent evening.
It’s a must visit place when in Bangalore. They serve the best Chinese food and the quantity is v nice with the quality too. Chicken spinach is a must try. Mr. Brian is very helpful and the dishes he recommended us turned out to be amazing.
Beautiful place with awesome food,
it was my first experience here at The Rice Bowl, staff are helpful, suggestive and courteous.. i hope everyone who visit this place will have a memorable journey & experience...
I had been to rice bowl for dinner .I had ordered the fried wontons ,Honey lamb ,Pork chilli for starters and the American chopsuey for main course and I simply loved every bit of it .The food was just too good and very nice staff who made us feel extremely comfortable .Overall loved the experience .
It's been a while since I have been to this place. I still had the old restaurant in mind but was pleasantly surprised on the new avatar. It's a nice and cozy place and the food is good too.
This place has always been my family's go-to restaurant ... Rice bowl doesn't disappoint us with their authentic food and it always makes your brain and taste buds happier..
Thanks to Anupam and sanjib for great service.
Awesome food, friendly staff, nice ambience. Would recommend for anyone coming for indo Chinese! Thanks
Have been to the place mutiple times and I have always come out satisfied. On my last visit I had the garlic rice and schezwan noodles which were both good.
Visited this place after almost 15yrs....had a wonderful experience...food still is awesome like before...courteous staff...good service & decent ambience...would luv to visit this place often
One of the place some time I fill the food is really nice among all the Chinese food.
Ambience is ok since it's too old place
But the service out here is really friendly and the best place I remember
Amazing food..Dimsum is worth trying.
Good food, lovely ambience and courteous staff at Rice bowl. I am definitely going back for the lovely food experience 🙂
I remember going to The Rice Bowl when I was a little girl, probably when I was 6 or 7 years old.
Post that, I never visited this restaurant, even though it's so close to my place.
Last night, I dined here after ages and I must say I was really impressed with the food. It exceeded my expectations. We were three of us, and we ordered two appetizers, Crispy Spinach and Paneer and American Corn Salt and Pepper. Both the appetizers were good, but I preferred the former over the latter.
For main course, we ordered a Burnt Garlic Fried Rice and Mixed Vegetables in Chilli Garlic Sauce. Again, no complaints whatsoever. It was extremely good as far as taste and portions are concerned.
The dishes were recommended by Anupam who ensured we had a delightful dinner.
We were super stuffed and had no intentions of ordering a dessert. He insisted we should try at least one dessert and graciously brought a Mango Cheesecake for us, which was on the house.
The ambience is pretty decent, I really can't comment much on it. But the food and service is fantastic. A value for money meal.
Had been to the place after a really long time. The burnt garlic rice and the american chopsuey were both excellent. The ambience added to the experience. Lovely visit overall.
This place has super courteous staff , prompt supply of the food which is delicious.

Loved the ambience and the service. The parking is valet , so did not have an issue. This said, once you enter, you will be greeted by the polite staff. I was greeted by one Mr Dipak and Mr Brian, the former took my order and the latter did recommendations. I loved the old school way of making you comfortable and the how they did not pamper me too much but made sure the orders came in at the right time. The dishes I ordered were incredible and hats off to the chef
As I left the table, I left with a smile to visit again. One of those few places where you want to visit again
We came here first time , like the ambience &food as well. Service was excellent which was provided by Anupam. Nice exeperien . Surely we will come back again...
Delicious Chinese cuisine ♥️ great hospitality👍 forever favorite
We choose Rice Bowl every time we crave for authentic chinese food in generous helpings which is reasonable on our pockets. This time we took our parents along and we were not disappointed. The manchow soup and chilli garlic prawn starters were spot on. We ordered mixed meat fried rice and hunan chicken for main course and finished with a delicious, light and adequately sweet mango cheesecake which is a restaurant specialty. Special thanks to Brian, the F&B manager who took personal interest in ensuring a fantastic dining experience for us. In the end, we were treated to a complimentary pot of Chinese Jasmine tea which was really refreshing. Overall, there was nothing to complain about and we can’t wait to go back again!
Noodles is very nice and smooth.
One of the oldest restaurants on Lavelle road yet the quality and quantity of the food here remains unchanged. A family favourite, our visit was an amazing experience thanks to our steward Anupam and the F&B Manager Brian. The staff are extremely attentive and helpful which is any customer's delight. I would highly recommend this evergreen Chinese joint.
Had been to the place after a very long time and was thoroughly satisfied with the food. The chillu garlic noodles and the american chopsuey was what I had. Great experience.
Anupam was very kind and attentive to us. Food was excellent and the mock tails was very good.
Clean and hygiene restaurant. Good food. Always busy. So you will get your food fresh. Non vegetables dimsum platter is must like, would visit again!!!!
Very oldest restaurant located in lavella road, nice ambience and very polite staff. Food wise top notch in term of taste and presenting. Spring roll, manchow soup n fried rice. Quantity n Quality good. Chines louvers must try.
Have been here many times and will continue to do so. Among the dishes we ordered, I liked lemon coriander soup, chilly garlic noodles and mango cheesecake. Excellent.
The food here is really good and tasty. Its apt for family and friends. the staff is really courteous...
Best place for Chinese dishes ....
The place is good, been here twice. The food is good and one relie on the staffs suggestions.
Impressed with the hospitality of the staff, all well mannered, attentive.
Loved the service from the F&B team. Made me feel comfortable and food was delicious. Looking forward to see them again.
Taste of flat noodles needs to be better for my taste
Orherwise golden fried baby corn still tastes same like 2010 I had visited
Was a very pleasant experience, the quantity was great without compromising on the quality. The staff was professional and helpful.
Beautiful reataurant. We really enjoyed the food and beverages also. The staff were really helpful and quickly getting our orders.
A nice place to spend time with family. Spacious and not too loud. Good valet and the road leading to the restaurant isn't too crowded either.
The food is good and the service is fast and polite. A pleasant escape from the usual hustle and bustle. Would visit again.
This place is the best of its kind I visited this place for the very first time and fell in love with this place ambiance the food and it's staff for service guys you got to try the spring roll out there one the best I have ever tasted in my life thanks the chef's who made it in love to visit this place again highly recommend ❤
This was a surprise! Lovely food and very hospitable staff. Great service by a server named Anupam. Authentic chincese cuisine at a very affordable rate.
Great place for a meal. The dimsum platter was excellent. Liked the chopsuey and mango cheesecake was a great way to finish the meal. Also the prices were really very pocket friendly. A place worth multiple visits.
Very charming Chinese experience with a good collection of wines and cocktails. Perfect place to dine out on a rainy evening to catch up on old times and renew friendships. The staff are courteous and are very prompt with the service. Anupam was our host and made us feel at home
Food 4.5

Ambience 4
Need some good authentic Chinese food? This is the place to be! Don’t forget to try the Tai Pai chicken, a die for dish! Ask for Anupam who will serve every need of yours :) best restaurant for noodles in town!
The Rice Bowl is not a new restaurant it's been there for well over years, and now let me tell you they have always managed to keep their standards and taste and have improved from better to best. The crew as well remain. In the middle of the town, but parking can be found on spot or nearby. Long waiting can be an issue hence suggest to book and go or You may want to appear early and await a table, you can reserve a table directly with the Manager or through reception. Food is fantastic. Hence it’s a great value package. Go ahead and try it you won’t be disappointed as The Rice bowl team is really wonderful.
If you're looking for some good Chinese food, this is the place to be at. Try their chilli garlic prawns .. they're yummy.
The staff is polite and extremely helpful. Their service is spot on. The only thing to be weary about is that you'd have to wait for a table on the weekends. You can avoid all this hassle by just booking a table before hand via. Zomato or EasyDiner.
Great place with a new look. Good food like the old days .. will definitely keep going back .. the soups are the best .. good selection in the menu..
The food was amazing and really good ambience. I was super happy with the service provided by Dipak. He suggested some really good dishes and was super friendly. Good job! 😊👍
I really like the food here and I was satisfied with the service.
And the employee dipak was really helpful and friendly with the service.
It's a must visit Chinese restaurant.
Tasty food. Delicious prawns. More than sufficient quantity. Courteous and respectful staff.
Ordered chilly prawns and Shanghai rice and noodles.
We had great chinese dinner here. We do not like sauce marinated meat, but Mr. Dipak kindly noted our detailed request and served us perfectly as we requested! (Seperate with meat and sauce as requested) Thank you for the kind understandings, we are sure to visit you again.
Lovely ambience, highly recommended if you love Chinese cuisine and if you're looking for a decent place to spend time with family. Good food, Mr. Brian, the manager attended to us, very polite and good with recommendations.
The food was delicious for vegetarians like me. Our server Mr.Anupam was very polite & his recommendations on the various starters & the main course were very good. Pricing is very reasonable & the portion sizes were sufficient for 4 diners. I gave this a 4 star as the ambience was not up to the mark as it can use some makeover & the service was a bit slow as I think the staff versus the table ratio is low as each stafff was catering to at least 4-5 tables at the same time so it took time for us to even get a glass of water. But we still had a decent experience.
If you are chinese cuisine lover, I would say this place is one you cannot miss in banglore. You won't be able to finish a whole dish by yourself because they serve decent quantity of food, unlike most of the restruants. The ambience is perfect and classy, the food is great. This place is worth visiting for some authentic Chinese food.
If you wish to taste some authentic chinese in Bangalore, this would be one of the best options. Really amazed to see the quality and quantity of food. I’d made the reservation using EazyDinner app. Got 3 complimentary drinks as well.
We’d ordered :
> Dimsum combo (5/5)
> Burnt chicken garlic rice (5/5)
> Mix noodles (4/5)
> Lemon corriander soup (5/5)
This is one of those Chinese restaurants you don't get bored of. Their friendly staff, food and cocktails keeps us going back to them. 👌😌. The sweet and spicy chicken, Singapore prawns dry are my personal favourites.
Well, this place was long due on my list and thanks to Zomato's 2+2 offer made it more tempting to visit. While I have heard good about The Rice Bowl, I never knew that the service was impeccable. Food was great and what made the visit sweet was the service. Mr. Brian Escottee walked up with a smile and checked if everything was fine. He also helped up with few customizations which was cool. I usually do not leave reviews but this gentleman deserves a pat on his back. Way to go and this experience will surely bring us back.
Nice ambience and very friendly staff. Good variety for both vegetarian as well as non vegetarian food as well! Recommended for sure. Ideal for family.
Amazing food. Comforting ambience. Staff went out of their way to ensure we had a good experience.
Mocktails were perfect!
For appetizer we got the Spinach-Paneer - very well cooked!
Been going here for ages. Food is perfect if you like Indian Chinese, but is quite oily. Place is Clean and hygienic. Staff is good and polite. Ambience could've been better.
Excellent service and tasty food. They had a mango fest going on and they offered us an inhouse dessert which was very good and refreshing . Anupam did a good service and was very polite.
If I think Bangalore food, I immediately think of Rice Bowl This is one of best places I have ever been for a lunch / dinner experience. The manager there makes you feel so comfortable and welcoming and that makes you want to go there again and again. Even the staff service is great - esp Anupam - whenever we go he makes us feel like home and thats why we always insist that Anupam be our server.
Coming to food - don't forget to try the crispy spinach paneer , we always end up ordering two plates between 4 people. Its yummy and the taste is pretty good. Being a vegetarian, I love almost all the items there. Special mention goes to the seasonal items they have everytime you go there. All in all, this will be an experience you won't regret and will want to repeat over and over again !
The place serves decent Chinese in town with very generous portion sizes. The service is spot on: Brian, the manager always ensures of personal attention to each guest's dining experience.
Overall a must try restaurant!
We love this place! Every time we are in the area, we tend to go back here for some nice, comfort food. The Zomato gold happens to be the cherry on top. Staff is always helpful and courteous. The food doesn't disappoint.
Superb food .. service par excellence, Brian and his team were very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend this place for all times, The mango cheesecake is a must try !!!
An amazing authentic Chinese restaurant. It's a good place for family dining. The staff is very polite and welcoming. Should definitely visit this place along with your family to spend a great time for dinner.
Anupam Naskar like always at his best when it comes to hospitality and services ,a must visit in bangalore if you like Indian Chinese Don't miss out visiting this place when you are towards central bengaluru
The old school chinese restaurant. Been there since ages, the taste is as good as the ever. Visited this place after many many years and the first bite of the American chopsuey got me back to my childhood memories. The serving is quick and very polite. Every dish orders was on point with taste values.. would be visiting it again for more fur sure.
A dining experience at Rice bowl is something only an old Bangalore can relate to! I say this simply because it's one of those 20+ year old Chinese restaurant that has only gotten better with times. The restaurant now is beautifully renovated and the food options are ample for both veg and non veg lovers!! Lamb, chicken, seafood variants all are available! Ample veg options too which is not so common in most restaurants.
The taste and quantity has been well retained I love the place for it!! They are not very expensive nor cheap!! A sumptuous all veg meal that comprises soup, appetizer and a maincourse shared amongst 3 cost us about INR 2500 with a couple of beers! Was not crowded since it was a Tuesday night! From my past experiences, weekends will be quite crowded!
Valet parking is available. Located in the heart of the city Lavelle road with easy access to metro connectivity.
Staff attitude is normal, nothing out of the ordinary. They include service charges with the bill.
Good place to hangout with family, friends or even children for great Chinese food!!
The rice bowl restaurant is excellent in all aspects. Whether it's the food or the ambiance or the service it's a must visit restaurant. But, this place is hella expensive. The experience we receive is worth the price. Their customer service is one of the best aspects of the restaurant. The waiters give their opinion on the food we choose, suggest a better one and it's good in all ways.i really love this place.
Great food, beautiful ambience and amazing hospitality.
Really liked the food, must try it's speciality spinach fried chicken. Mango cheesecake is also a must try dessert.
So far the best place in Bangalore for Chinese. Really happy:)
Amazing asian food! Loved every bit. Ambience is quite & calm. Service is great. A must try dish is the Spinach Chicken. It’s lovely! Not too expensive & not very cheap! Can visit more than once!
The Rice Bowl, located on 40/2 Lavelle Road in Bengaluru, is a Chinese and Asian cuisine restaurant that has been around for quite some time. I recently visited the restaurant to see if it still lives up to its reputation they had of of serving good Chinese and Asian food. Yes they do good old food. The restaurant's ambiance is quite pleasing, with its elegant decor and comfortable seating. The menu is extensive, offering a range of Chinese and Asian dishes that cater to different tastes. However, the prices are on the higher side compared to other Chinese and Asian restaurants in the area. The portions served at The Rice Bowl are quite generous, and I was pleased with the amount of food I received. However, the service has gone downhill recently, with the staff showing a lot of arrogance, even the valet. This attitude can be quite off-putting and affects the overall dining experience. One thing to note is that the restaurant tends to get very crowded during lunchtime, so be prepared to wait for a while before being seated. The valet parking service is available, which is convenient for those driving to the restaurant. Despite the poor service, I highly recommend trying out some of the dishes at The Rice Bowl. The Meat Special Mixed Fried Rice was delicious and packed with flavor. The Crispy Spinach Chicken was also a standout dish, with the right amount of crunch and seasoning. Another dish worth trying is the Tai Pai Chicken, which was tender and juicy.
Overall, The Rice Bowl has its ups and downs. It's a restaurant that has been around for a long time and holds a special place in the hearts of many, including myself, who tried Chinese food for the first time here as a kid. However, the poor service and high prices may make it a less attractive option for some.
I have been visiting this place since childhood and even now the quality, standard, taste, ambience is excellent 👌. One of the best places to eat the most authentic Indo Chinese food. Infact all the items were tasty 😋 and delicious. Starting from the chicken clear soup to the crispy corn, golden fried prawns, chicken lollipop were all delicious and yummy 🤤. You should also try the crispy chopsuey ..it’s one of the best main course. Amazing choices for a good drink as well. Also the hospitality and the staff are really good 😊. Highly recommend you to visit this place !!!
Good food. Hardly crowded. Quick service. Friendly staff. Rice quantities are good. Veg noodle soup was bland. Curry quantity could be better.
Excellent food; great service.
Both the quality and quantity of food food served here is excellent.
Must have items would include
Spinach chicken
Wantons
Pad Thai noodles
Fried rice
Cheese cake
Banofee pie
The manager is extremely hospitable and personally visit each table to enquire about the experience of the guests.
It is astonishing and the taste of the food is just wow! You must try it and I believe you won’t regret a penny! Hygienic, quality, quantity you name it they got it all surprisingly customisable for you! I highly recommend to visit or take order from The Rice Bowl Restaurant! Staff were courteous say it from the chef to the food server! Peaceful ambience. Y’all take care .
Food was very tasty. Ambience is lovely. Nice place to take your kids along. We went to Cubbon park mid morning, had a nice walk around and went walking to Rice Bowl for lunch. Waiting time is a lot between dishes, so try to order at a go.
Being a bangalorean this restaurant has been always my first choice for Chinese. Visiting this place since 1993. The taste hasn't changed since then. The new change in management and the ambience with the new seating makes it appealing.
It draws you in with its simplicity, elegance and warmth. Nestled off the shoulder of a busy main road, this is a quaint, idyllic spot that charms and entices you. Instantly took a liking to this place ! Stepping into this place is like zoning out of the chaos and tuning into something calm and positive.
Love the spacious RED seating arrangements. I was in awe of the minimalism, aesthetic and the persona the resto creates. The ambience is simply too striking to ignore. The vibe is sexy and so intriguing.
Coming to the food....I don’t really have any complaints. I totally loved each and every dish. They have a wide menu of both veg and non veg.

Excellent service and very tasty Chinese. I have been to this restaurant since i was a child.
The flavour remains the same. Cost bit on higher side.

One of the oldest (20+ years) and one among the top Chinese restaurant in Namma Bengaluru, this place has recently revamped their interiors (giving prominence to red color) and exhaustive menu.

All in all, perfect place for dine-in with family & friends. Delicious food & drinks coupled with quick service makes it a hot choice for Chinese food lovers. Visit them to find out yourself.
This legendary place is synonymous with lip smacking desi Chinese food since a long time. Having earned its well deserved place amongst the top Chinese restaurants in the city, the outlet has recently gone through a menu revamp and ambiance renovation. Now it looks classier with an old world charm thats hard to come across these days. There is valet service available as well.
I went here for a weekday lunch with a large group of friends. We relished a lot of their classic dishes accompanied by some well concocted drinks. Started off with the manchow soup which was warm and delicious. In drinks, I tried blue Hawaiian which had vodka, lemon juice, lichi, blue curacao and topped with sprite. Quite liked the cocktail and it went fabulously with the appetizers to come. Some other drinks I would recommend will be green apple martini, spicy guava and shirley temple.
In the appetizers, we tried chilli garlic prawns, chilli mustard fish, crackling spinach chicken, tai pai chicken, red and green chilli lamb and steamed chicken momos. The veg folks ordered Singapore paneer, salt and pepper corn, mushroom manchurian, veg fried wonton and steamed veg momos. To be honest all the dishes were very delicious and on point when it comes to flavours. Still I would give a special shoutout to crackling spinach chicken, tai pai chicken and momos in non veg, and Singapore paneer, veg wonton and steamed momos in the veg section. Must have dishes here.
In mains, the order comprised of egg schezwan fried rice chilli garlic noodles, pad Thai, shredded chicken in red and chilli sauce and veg American chopsuey. Noodles and pad Thai were too good and I couldn't stop eating them even after being completely full.
I was not expecting much from the desserts but I was proved completely and utterly wrong. The mango cheesecake is an absolute treat. It should not be missed. The mango flavour is bold and pronounced in it. Banoffee pie was not overly sweet and turned out to be quite enjoyable . Caramel custard was decent as well. Stellar desserts to end the meal on a high note.
Overall, couldn't have asked for more. Food and drinks were fantastic and the service was immaculate. Bookmark and visit it at the earliest. Highly recommended.
The rice Bowl dishes out absolutely finger licking pan-Asian delicacies . This place has been my favourite pan-Asian restaurant ever since I visited it in the year of 2018. Recently I was here with a friend for a weekday lunch to try their new inclusions. Trust me, I enjoyed every single dish of my meal.
Starting with the Manchow chicken soup, it was thick in consistency and has an adequate amount chicken, spring onions, cilantro and pepper. It was so fresh and delicious. Spicy guava is a mocktail which has an intense flavour of guava with a green chilli twist . I absolutely loved it. The moderately fried thread paneer was served with sweet sauce. It was crispy and tasted good .
Chicken with crackling spinach is a unique and delicious combination of finely shredded, deeply fried spinach with fried chicken. The spinach was mildly sweet and packed with flavour. This starter is definitely a must try. Chicken garlic prawn is another dish that deserves a specific mention. Prawns were fried to perfection and has a pleasing flavour of garlic and chilli with mild sweet touch. This dish goes very well with drinks .
They also serves one of the best Pad-Thai noodles in the city .That mildly sweet and spicy noodles with a twist of peanut and lemon tasted heavenly. Do not miss to try their mango cheesecake and Banoffee pie. I am certain that you will love it.
Staff are very polite, welcoming and service was great. The portion sizes are generous and very filling. I would highly recommend you to visit this place to satisfy your pan-Asian cravings.
As they say.. Old is gold. That's exactly what The Rice Bowl is.. Standing the test of time and continuing to serve delicious Pan asian food. Located in the heart of the city this restaurant is not at all difficult to locate. The decor is simple and classy.. Perfect for a quick office lunch, a dinner date or a family outing. The staff is supremely courteous, knowledgeable about the menu and prompt in their service. I tried a plethora of dishes all of which were ample in quantity and tasted as authentic as our indian palette would like it. My top picks would be: Chilli Garlic Prawns: succulent beautifully marinated prawns.. Absolute favorite!
For all the pork lovers definitely try the sliced chilli pork.. Perfect ratio of meat and fat and well cooked ...
Momos! The delicate steamed momos with a handsome amount of chicken stuffing along with the spicy chutney was a crowd favorite too. As for vegetarian starters my picks would be the mushroom manchurian and fried wontons. Perfect individually as well as when paired along with drinks.
In the mains blindly order the hakka chilli garlic noodles or pad thai noodles. You can pair them with a bunch of sides but i had tried the shredded chicken red and green chilli which was a perfect side with the noodles. Individually it was not too hot so perfect for people with a lower level of spice tolerance. For dessert, if it's available the mango cheesecake is a no brainer. One of the best in the city might I add. All in all a great experience. Can't wait to dine again.
Being a bangalorean this restaurant has been always my first choice for Chinese.
The new change in management and the ambiance with the new seating makes it interesting.
I loved the Bonefi pie here ,but this time did not try as the sumptuous starters and the main course filled my stomach. Great place to relax and eat good Chinese with friends and family
