Discovered this place on Zomato and landed for a Sunday brunch. Fearing the worst when we were told its in the basement, we walked in with half a mind to return. But am glad we didn't. Turned out to be a great experience- ambience, food and service wise. We had mandarin and basil capriosckas, the watermelon and feta cheese salad and mezze platter - all of it was yummy. The dips in mezze platter were done well and I loved the baba ganoush. But the best dish was the main course fish. Veg Pasta was ordinary and quite a misfit in the whole spread but we are happy to overlook that minor thing :). Looking forward to visit again

Came to this place on a Saturday evening just two weeks back with a friend. The place is hidden below the ground level on the busy St. Marks Road and can easily go unnoticed. Go down a few steps and there you see a beautiful place. There’s an open air sitting area outside and an AC area inside. We took the seats in the inner side. They’ve television set’s installed on the walls and they run the live sport matches on it. (Good place for the IPL lovers). The ambiance pretty good with the music being played at the proper pitch and lights were appropriately bright.
We ordered ourselves a pitcher of Draught beer to begin with. To accompany it, we ordered Pan seared Mushroom Cheese Tarts and Chicken Cheddar Croquettes. The tarts were excellent in taste and is a must try. The croquettes were too average, lacked some taste to it.
We then ordered a pitcher of Long Island Ice Tea. It was not much strong when they served it, but upon making a request they re-prepared it. Really Appreciate that. It was accompanied with a Smoked Chicken pizza. To end the dinner we ordered the delicious Mushroom tarts once again to savor upon.
It was a good time spend there and the cafe is worth the money. Surely a good place to hang out with buddies.

We went to this place on a Saturday night - based on its rating in Zomato. It is situated in the same location where Oh! Calcutta used to be there some years back before shifting to Church Street. St. Marks Road is itself famous for its restaurant Truffles where I used to go 4 years ago. The place has a open seating area outside - which is the smoking area, we chose to sit inside. The ambience is pretty good, with the walls filled with books and paintings. There is a bar counter right at the middle. It has a very calm, peaceful and vibrant experience as there was light music in the background. The menu was very interesting filled with choices. We had Cajun Spiced Crispy Potato Skin Portion and Jalapeño Cheese balls - the latter was good and the former ok. We also had Rosemary Cottage Cheese Steak Portion - which was awesome - the presentation and taste was bang on. We also had a Nutty Fruity glass and Long Island Ice Tea - Tall Icy Glass - both were good. The service could be improved more - we kept asking for water and it took some time. But the food was good and that is the reason the experience altogether was amazing. The prices are competitive and I liked them personally. The government of India should seriously bring GST quickly - I have been seeing millions of different taxes being added after the bill amount - Service Charge, VAT on Beverages, VAT on food, VAT on liquor, Service Tax, Swacch Bharat and Krishi Kalyan - I literally do not see any use of paying taxes where things cannot change. Makes me frustrated sometimes. But nevertheless, a great experience and worth coming back again - recommended for all.

Really lovely place, good service, delicious food. The pizza (four cheese) and the starters hot pan grilled mushroom) were nice. The fig and honey mustard on the table was insanely good. Did not like the Philadelphia cheese cake, it wasn't the right consistency according to me. The Sangria was good, too. Overall a great experience and I like that the waiters leave you alone after you place the order.

Verdict: a good place with tasty Food and not so great service.
I've read about this place on Zomato and found the name interesting. I wanted to come here for a while. Went on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the Chicken cheddar croquettes for starters and loved the taste. If you wouldn't mind deep-fried starters, I would suggest you try this. For our mains, we ordered the Crumb fried chicken great filled with turkey ham and chicken stroganoff. The Crumb fried chicken was a delight to the tastebuds and was quite filling. This is a must try if you love just crunchy and tasty meat, and no other distractions on your plate. The chicken stroganoff tasted good too and was not so heavy. We ordered the creamy mint to drink and it was okay.
Overall, our experience would have been better if the staff were A little more prompt. This place needs a lot of improvement in service. If you wouldn't mind the deficiency in service and are looking for a place to catch up with friends over a casual lunch, this sure is one place to try. :)
Love the all the smoothies here, especially the green apple and corriander one. The food, desserts & service was on point.

Going to Café Mezzuna is like literally going to a posh underground club, which I found to be very intriguing!
Lovely ambience, it's like a garden party around your house. And decent work with the aesthetics as well. But my favorite part is the inside, which looks like a book cafe, and I could imagine myself sitting for hours here and sulking into a book with coffee in hand.
Friendly Staff and fast service, I have no complaints.
The food was gooood. It was unexpected for me, and menu is pretty interesting as well. My highlights were the jalapeño cheeseballs, spinach and cottage cheese steak and barley risotto. Tiramisu was good but I felt the liquor used was little overpowering. But the best dish of the day was the vanilla bean panacotta, was to die for and it was complimentary!
To sum it up, good food an enjoyable experience.
You would never believe that there would be sucha lovely restaurant in basement.. they have both indoor and outdoor seating.. indoor seating is so pretty n colorful.. very friendly service.. tasty food.. value for money.. i would recommend 3 portion mini burgers..

Another amazing European restaurant in the city.
Bit difficult to locate this restaurant at St Marks Road, since it’s in the basement. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was not exciting enough since it’s in the basement and doesn’t give good view.
The interiors are pretty colourful and nice. The décor gives life to the restaurant and It’s great.
Mango Vango Glass, the mocktail was good. Grilled Prawn Skewers in hot garlic sauce was lip smacking. We also tried Char Grilled Lamb Burger. The portion had 3 mini burgers and they were juicy, tender. We had Panacotta Fruits in deserts – average taste.
A place worth going back again.
Very good food, was a little disappointed with the pizza but the cocktails, salad and main course were amazing. Small place but worth a visit.
This place would always stay close to my heart because it was this place where my brother and I had a great time after a long long time. It felt like old times were back again. Coming to the place, ambience is great, place is quiet and suitable for couples who are looking for a place for dinner date, to spend some quality time together after a long tiring day at respective workplace.

There is an outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area. The outdoor seating area is covered, so it's still away from the noise and pollution of st.marks road. The service was decent.
Tried only the Italian food. The chunky tomato penne pasta was tasty. The pizzas are thin crust pizza. Has the wild mushrooms pizza, There was a generous topping of quite a lot of mushrooms. Liked the toppings, but overall the taste was average. The mushroom pieces were a too large for a pizza. The quantity is standard.
On the whole, it's a place with a nice ambience, the food was nothing out of the ordinary though.
A really cute place this is with a wall bookshelf full of some really nice reads. They have interesting and colorful ambience and makes you feel very cozy from the time you walk in.
Coming to food, we had Cajun spiced potato skins, crispy chicken wings, chicken popcorn and pasta. Potato skins were delicious and so was pasta. The chicken starters were okayish, nothing very great. The quantity is decent. For dessert we had tiramisu and dark chocolate cake both of which were sinful. They have a wide drinks menu as well. We had LIIT, draught beer and vodka based cocktails. The cocktails are good and it's not even hard on your pocket. Whole menu is budget friendly.
The staff was sweet and attentive. They have a nice mix of music as well. It's a nice place to chill with your gang or even have some quiet alone time with books and nice food.
Chose Mezzuna as our Saturday lunch option. Their noon to midnight serving hours is a blessing for relaxed weekend lunches!
The place is spacious and uniquely decored. But a glitch is the vague partitioning of smoking and non smoking zones. Unfortunately even the indoor non smoking area smells of cigarettes due to the frequent opening of the door.

The potato skins and Meze platter were delicious. The mocktails were top notch too.
The pizza which received rave reviews on zomato was a let down. And hard as I tried to develop a liking for the 'wild' mushrooms... They were pungent and left a toxic aftertaste. Spoilt the whole pizza for all of us. But overall, good food.
Vegetarian options are limited. Not too overpriced.
Set on the saint marks road the ambience is great especially on a rainy day! Pizzas are what they serve the best and LIIT is stupendous and it's not that crowded and the staff is very friendly and courteous! Recommended for those quick hangouts and sudden date places!
Great place to be at. Food is good as well as the drinks are perfect. The staff is friendly. The place is less crowded. One drawback is there was a weird smell when I went there which made it unpleasant but I'm sure they looked into it. Suggest you foodies out there to visit.

A hidden gem right in the middle of the city. Located in the basement of a high rise on St. Marks road, Mezzuna cafe serves excellent continental and Italian food. Ambience: Nice, quiet and spacious outdoor and indoor seating arrangement, plays good music, and has a sober decor. Service: Moderately quick, waiters are warm and are well verse with the menu items. Food: Salads are heavenly; pasta, raviolli, pizza, jalapeño balls in nibbles were good too; Rosemary cottage cheese steak is a must try. Mocktails and soup (soup of the day - cream of mushroom) were quite average.
Cafe mezzuna - had been here for lunch, as you walk in you would love the set up. Ambience is so good and quiet! They had played old english songs and was low conversating was so easy! Starters we had nachos and cajun spice potatoes it was yum! And main course it was pizza which was amazing probably one of the most nicely donr pizzas i have had. Overall i loved it. And its easy on the pocket also!

On Friday, my friend and I were here for an early dinner. The place wasn’t hard to locate on St. Marks Road and we managed to get parallel parking on the street at 6:00PM only to realize that the restaurant has designated secured parking near its entrance.
Initially I wasn’t having many expectations about this place especially after knowing it was in the basement. However, as we walked down we saw that the place was excellently done up and the area was spread-out with ample seating. At 6:00PM we saw 4 more tables in addition to ours which were buzzling and the music was very good.
We ordered the Pan seared mushroom tart (excellent!) and the loaded mushroom pizza (okay) to start with. For the mains, my friend tried their half roast chicken (supposedly very good) and I opted for the Cottage cheese steak (okay but the paneer had dried edges - the staff however insisted to get me something else which I had to deny due to a filled tummy). For the desserts, the vanilla panna Cota with berries was very interesting and the chocolate fudge cake with bailey’s mousse was okay!
Moolah: Rs.1700 Approx. for all the above.
Pros: Very wide-ranging menu, most of the food was good, very helpful and kind staff, good music, pretty décor, good serve ware, designated parking.

There are lots of good restaurants in St Marks Road , making it difficult to choose among them. A surprise visit and a delightful experience made our day at Cafe Mezzuna.
Combination of taste , visual appeal , aroma , distinct and independent taste of all ingredients and as a whole respectively catered in an excellent service . Hence a big smile of gratitude for the food makers and servers... I strongly recommend this place for all contemporary foodies. However I could not give 5 as 0.5 points I believe is a scope of improvement for the Décor and Ambience which is good enough though require continuous upgrade.
Just wow is the first thing I would like to say about them. The drinks are simply amazing. The service and the food is a bit average but yeah Fish starters are good. The shooters eventually add up for all the good things. A good place to be in.

Being new to Bangalore, I discovered this gem whilst taking an evening stroll on St. Marks road. The exterior of the place does very little justice to the amazing ambience inside. The music reminded me of the eighties and early nineties in a very pleasant manner. The food was very good - I had the veg soup of the day which was mushroom and bell peppers and a wild mushroom and sun-dried tomatoes thin crust pizza.
The service was very prompt and courteous.

The online booking system via Zomato is extremely convenient! We got a really cozy corner for the 5 of us. One thing, though, that the management has to take care of is the presence of fleas around the tables. Kills the joy and makes it feel unhygienic.

I went there with a friend of mine for a Saturday night dinner. Located right next to truffles, below naturals this place offers a good ambience along with good quality food. We tried mushroom tarts which were nicely presented and tasted good as well. Then we ordered pink sauce pasta which was bit dry to our taste, we also tried spinach pizza which was again sightly bland. For drinks I tried nutty fruity which had slight tinge of hazelnut in it and tasted great. Overall a nice place but food was not excellent as per my taste buds ( which demands my food to be little spicy)

I had a very high expectation because I am regular to the one in Calcutta and the ambiance here was really dull. The place was also empty. coming to the food, it was good, nothing Great. The service was really good. Polite and well informed staff.

we ordered Tiramisu which was really not like the dish supposed to be and cheese cake which was sour in taste. The complimentary pannacotta was still better

This was something which we saw vwey 1st time and that was liquor coffee. We ordered mexican which was a tequilla based. I just loved the way they prepared coffee in front of me but milk cream has made my coffee taste ugly as i am fan of americano. But next time again i am going to try liqueur coffee once more.
Anyway this place was good seeing price vs quality vs quantity.

We visited Cafe Mezzuna as our first choice, Truffles had a long waiting queue. The ambiance at Mezzuna is very warm and relaxed. We ordered nachos with salsa which had fresh feta cheese as a topping. We followed it up with Cajun spiced potatoes which was quite bland.
We ordered a grilled veggie pizza which was excellent. The vegetables fresh and crunchy and very light on the palate . We finished off with a chunky tomato pasta which had fresh wonderful flavour , it had super fresh mozzarella as a topping.
Overall the food is really good and service prompt , will definitely visit again.
Have been to this place couple of times. Loved the food there. The menu is fresh and the dishes are different and give you a feel of fusion. I would suggest having the Mezze platter, Harissa Spiced Chicken, Seafood Ravioli, Asparagus and Mushroom Pasta. Also, all pizzas are great. Excellent service. Definitely worth the price.

Went there for birthday treat.Location is a little weird although it's on the main road. We ordered many things and the quantity was also good.
Starters were nice but the pizzas were okay nothing great. Main course was decent. The place seemed a little dull and more of a fine dining restaurant then a cafe. We tried a lot of deserts all of them were good. Overall experience was okay.
This is an attractive cafe in the basement at St. Mark's road, a little hard to find.
The decor and ambience are nothing out of the box yet beautiful and simple.
I was here on a Saturday night and the place hardly had people arpind 7.30 PM. They started coming in a little later but it still wasn't crowded whoch I liked.

My friend tried the char grilled lamb mini burger and liked it.
I tried the big apple drink and it was good.

Cafè Mezzuna, a part of Speciality Restaurants, was pulled into Bangalore streets by replacing Oh! Calcutta. The St.Marks Road already has enough eateries and joints that could make the street, a potential hot-spot for food. Some Legendary places like MTR, Truffles, Hard Rock cafe were already there in the environs, Cafè Mezzuna has it's own style with a very versatile ambience and a divergence in their menu by bringing Mediterranean and European dishes. A dark Flex-Board with bright small lights is placed on the road to identify and point the location. The Cafè is in basement and it's kind of tricky to identify the entrance.
The ambience was obviously of a Cafè with classy touch and a kind of slight rustic finishing on the walls and decor. But it could be a romantic dine-in place, if the budget is to be observed and the alfresco (out-door seating) can suit for a friends get-together. The ambience was not dim as of a bar, although it is a resto-cafe bar. The staff were very quick, attentive and heed to our requests and can suggest right item as per your preferences.
The Prices are not too high and not very less. They are kind of moderate and the quantity/portion sizes justify well with the price tags that comes along. The drinks were not exorbitantly charged and so was the food. A meal for two can be completed in 1000-1200.
It was a date night for me and I reserved a table in a corner to ensure we have an undisturbed conversation. The problem with the corner was that it was a bit incomplete in terms of decor and was revealing the crude walls. Nonetheless, it was perfectly setup with minimal light and secluded.
For Sipping,
We ordered Ginger Twist and Nutty Fruity for the drinks.
Ginger twist was a concoction of Orange, lime and ginger. The ginger was finely grated and was added in a fairly large amount. Personally, I did not like it much due to the accumulation of ginger grating in mouth, while sipping.
On the other hand, Nutty Fruity was a fantastic mix of cranberry and Pineapple with the sweet hint of Hazelnut. A whiff of the odour it was spreading can talk about the sweetness (Not in a literal sense) in the drink.
For chewing,
We started our meal with a Chilled Watermelon Feta Salad. Five cubes of watermelons were bearing a watermelon sphere on top with lots of pine nuts were tossed over the plate along with basil leaves and feta cheese was spread over the pieces. The Balsamic Vinegar was drizzled to give that sweet-sour twist in the taste. I loved the salad.
For Appetisers, it was Cajun Spiced Crispy Potato Skins. The Potato Skins were not really skins but a bit of flesh was accompanying and the crispness was lost. The Cajun didn't really spice it up. The Harissa Mayo, which was given as a dip saved us in appetising. The Mayo had the right smoky pepper flavour with garlic and olive oil.
The Main Course was a Pizza with fresh Tomatoes-Juicy and fresh, Buffalo Mozzarella-Creamy and overloaded, Fresh Basil-Aromatic and extremely refreshing, roasted garlic-flavourful and mild. It was a Pan made thin crust pizza and huge. It can easily fill up two people for main course. What's weird was that the tomato ketchup was served in a bowl.
With the huge pizza, It was decided that we should move on to desserts. And I could not decide on one from the menu, as the options were extremely bewildering. We asked to bring the dessert platter which was worth 525++. Was it worth? Absolutely.
It had,
Vanilla Bean Cremè Brulee with Almond Biscotti (just a fancy word for Biscuit). I could fathom why Kelly Moran wrote “He looks at you like you’re crème brûlée.” in her "Ghost of a Promise" book. The Cremè Brulee was astoundingly soft with the harder notes of burnt Caramel layer on the top.
Chocolate Fudge with bailey's Mousse was momentous with the moist dark chocolate fudge cake and the bailey's mousse was sandwiched in between. It was served with chocolate shavings on top and with a drizzle of dark chocolate syrup.
Vanilla Panacotta with seasoned fruits compote was served in a bowl, unlike the rest, which were served on a wooden plank. I was not a great fan of Panacotta, well until that day. The Panacotta was more on the softer note than being jelly. It was going great with the blueberry compote and green apple chunks until I ran out of it. I had to gulp in three or four spoons of Panacotta without any compote which was kind of bland. Generous amount of Compote in the serving is to be fixed in this.
Tiramisu. My love for Tiramisu can not be elucidated. The Cheesecake and Tiramisu were my first crushes in Italian cuisine.

What more can I ask for when the soggy-juicy and soft biscuits punch out the bitter juices and the cream takes the role of balancing it in my mouth? I was surfeited with the load of desserts and so was my inamorata sitting across me.
Undoubtedly, this is one good cafe and resto-bar that suits all genre's of people.
All love to this place!!!! Very very impressed with their theme, service and food. First thing you wil notice, is their ambience. Tables are not very close to each other. Also, the outdoor seating has a very relaxed feel to it. Ordered grilled mushroom and bruschetta for starter. I must say, both were great!
For mains, we went for stoned chicken and ravioli. Again, we were not disapponited. Service was top notch. Cost for 2 was 1500.
Definitely gonna visit them soon.

Lovely place!
Food - great. Ordered the soup of the day (I think it was tomato soup. Don't remember. But it was good), jalapeño cheese balls with tomato salsa - yum, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese pizza..this actually has mushroom and I asked them to remove it. First time they got, mushroom was there in it. When I informed the staff there, they were courteous and polite and got me the same one without mushroom.
Ambiance - good. Especially the outdoor seating with the green patch (unless some smokey smokerson is on the table next to you)
A special mention to a mocktail made of apples and curry leaves - right amount of everything and refreshing.
Service - good.
Good on the pocket too, considering the location and the number of items ordered. Alcohol is also not very pricey.

On this noisy crowded St.Marks road, this cute place in the basement is cozy and calm and nice.
Enjoyed a lovely afternoon meal with some BiRA. The warm Focaccia was soft, buttery and delicious!
The mains were a cottage cheese steak with ratatouille and A chicken steak in a Citrus jus. Both of which were cooked delicately and very well
Dark choco mousse for desert, which was light and the perfect end to a good meal.
Satisfying meal and will definitely visit again!
I went to cafe mezzuna i ordered some pasta ,chicken stone grill and a juice.those were very delicious to me and my sister and my father and mother i would definitely come to this restaurant again.

This is definitely one of those places that manages to create such a pleasant overall experience - Be it the minimal but pleasant lighting, the spaces between the tables, the spacious outdoor section and attention for service. I loved each aspect of it and it is definitely a place that deserves repeated visits.
Regarding prices, it was on the higher side, but it was justified to an extent by the ambiance.
Food presentation was eye warming. Pizzas are a must try, given also their claim for internally made bread and a super thin crust! Harissa spiced grilled chicken skewers was good too, with its medium spices. More concentration was given into making the meat soft. At last, we were thoroughly satisfied with the choice of dessert (Philadelphia Cheese cake topped with berries). Easily this was one of the best cheese cakes I have had mainly because of its unique thickness to the cheese that was provided. Usually cheese cakes are more into melting in the mouth while here it was given a refreshing difference. Thumbs up for that!
Visited the place on a Saturday afternoon and wasn't as crowded as expected. We started off with jerk spice chicken pizza and chicken wings. Pizza was tasty with well cooked chicken but chicken wings could have been done better. We continued with mozorella penne pasta with red sauce and feta cheese, penne pasta with pesto sauce, chilli and garlic. The mains was a chicken stroganoff with a twist and indeed the twist was very tasty!
The restaurant has an indoor and outdoor seating with a good decor.
Overall, a nice place to hangout with decent food.

This place is easy to locate. Fortunately, they also provide vallet parking. It has both outdoor and indoor seating. We took the inside space, and I should say that the cafe looked amazing. Very nicely done interiors. We ordered pulled lamb, chicken stroganoff, smoked chicken, rosette etc...
I would recommend chicken stroganoff on Friday.
The pizzas are really good in here. The place is small but has a nice ambience. Music played is not that great but you will have nice time. No complaints about food.
Wow what do you do when Truffles is all full. Finally decided to go to a familiar food chain Mezzuna.
The food was just amazing, Italian food and the cheese. It was the kind of food which you need to top of the weekend funday and give you a happy high.
The thing I loved the most was the décor, these day I just so enjoy the ambience, décor, seating and the other little things in life apart from the taste which was absolutely great.
Tried a whole lot of dishes, the advantage of going in big group, and nothing was disappointing. Perfect place for big groups and dates.

Located right next to Truffles on St. Mark's Road lies this flashy sophisticated underground gem. We spotted the well lit board quite before the actual restaurant, which confused us a little until we walked further down to find another board. You'd typically expect a cafe to be on the ground, but this isn't your ordinary cafe. It gives off more of a restaurant-ish feel which could easily be higher than most other eateries that actually label themselves as a restaurant. We walked in and were immediately seated at a table of four although it was just two of us, which is nice as sometimes you could really use the extra space without the congestion that regular two-person tables provide.
The initial problem that we faced with the place was that a few of the servers were a little lost at the start as when I asked our first server what the Specials were he didn't quite understand me, and the second time around he pointed at a board which had a list of new items on the menu, which couldn't have exactly been the Special. At most places that I visit I find it a convenience to know what the servers would suggest as the recommended dish. It shows that the staff are aware of the items being served as well as the popularity of these items. Immediately, a second server comes to the table and we decide on our starters -
Grilled prawn skewers with anchovy garlic butter and the Pan seared mushroom tart with mozzarella and balsamic. Presentation wise both dishes looked beautiful, the Prawn skewers are a worthy mention because of the sauce which is simply brilliant. Although the Prawns themselves may have been slightly overcooked as they just refused to come off the skewers. For the entree we ordered the spiced morrocan lamb pizza and the crumb fried chicken breast with chicken ham and a champagne sauce. The pizza smelt amazing and tasted quite good too, but the spice was too much which at points really overpowered all the other elements and left your palette in flames. The chicken breast however was perfect; presentation and taste wise. Perfectly golden on the outside and tender throughout. The champagne sauce however wasn't something that went along with the dish however, the staff were polite enough to offer a kind of jus which was a bit more tangy with a citrus punch and mushroom. (I preferred the original combo after trying both). After the mains, we stayed back for a while until we were the last people to clear out of the outdoor seating. Simply goes to show why a place as warm and inviting as this "Cafe" deserves a visit.
This was a place we came across very late one evening when we were looking for good food and alcohol. This place has a very classy feel to it and this was further reinforced by the food that was served. We ordered a Grilled prawn skewers portion, stone grilled chicken with roasted potato salad and pasta with grilled chicken and slow dried tomatoes. The prawns came in an outstanding sauce that we couldn't get enough of and the chicken was perfectly cooked and tender. We washed it down with beer and gin. Would recommend if you are looking for a nice place a little quiet on a weekend.

Experience was overall good with only complaint over their service, which was pathetically slow. But if you are ready to invest that time, food is awesome. Drinks and desserts were really good. I would also like to point out ambience has a rich n classy touch. Would recommend for dates!!!
Went to this place for the second time , with a friend, right after the BFC match at Kanteerava stadium, and had a short but great experience. Just ordered a pitcher of beer, a starter and couple of main courses as we were starving after watching the match. Pitcher was almost empty when the server came to refill my mug, noticed a small fruit fly had slipped in it, and graciously proceeded to replace the full mug of beer. Very good service, that, considering how often we hear of issues with managements at various other places. Even the main courses arrived very quickly, after initially being told it might take a little longer. The pizza was good, the crumbed chicken breast was excellent, and a pitcher for 300 was very decent indeed. Love their ambiance as well, with both the indoor and outdoor seating. One place where you don't mind the restaurant being in the basement at all. They seem to have taken advantage of the extra space, rather. Will be returning here again, definitely.

Yesterday night had gone with my friends and it's a perfect place to go to. Ambience is awesome. Food is great and service is very fast.
We had ordered margarita, lychee mojito, long island. Long island wasn't average. A must have "Lychee mojito".
In food, we had ordered nachos, bruchetta, potato cheddar croquettes, pizza. Apart from potato cheddar all were amazing.
Overall an amazing place to go on a date or with friends.

we went as a family of four and were really happy with almost all the dishes we ordered.
Good starters - Harissa spiced chicken, Beer battered fish, Pan seared Mushroom tarts. Not so good Potato,leek cheddar croquettes.
Mains - Excellent - Pumpkin Blue cheese ravioli; Good - Ceaser Salad with stone grilled chicken; Above average - four cheese Pizza
Desserts - Excellent Creme Brulee, Philadelphia Cheesecake and dark chocolate fudge cake with Baileys mousse. Not so good Vanilla Panacota

Ordered the wild mushroom and red wine risotto, the pumpkin blue cheese ravioli, mushroom tarts for starters, the orange passion frappe and the rocky road for drinks.
This has been added to one of the places where you get GOOD risotto. It wasn't dry and sticky, but instead had such good consistency. So perfectly creamy and tasty! The pumpkin blue cheese ravioli was good. Such a good way to mix something which has a slightly sweet note with cheese.
However, the Philadelphia cheesecake was slightly dissapointing. Had quite the sour edge to it.
The staff is friendly and I just had to mention it again.
Alot of things on the menu seemed quite interesting.
Definitely going to come back here again.

A nice place to have a date and meet up friends. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is awesome.
Music is not too loud and staff is friendly. I like the cloth napkin touch guys! (Thank God you have those because i hate paper napkins)
Drinks are pretty cool and well made. Desserts are yummy and should be tried out at this place. Also pizzas are pretty delicious and french fries are to the point.
Will surely visit again!

Wow! Amazing experience!! A bit expensive, but that's understandable because it's in the heart of the city. That said - great food! Good ambience, good staff. I had a Long Island ice tea, it was good as well!! The pizzas are a must try .... But quite honestly everything we ordered was yummy.

It has outdoor sitting and indoor. The Food here is really delicious. I had order a pizza which was really good. Even the half roast chicken from the main was really good. It's a good place for people who don't want too much noise or loud music. Worth a try.
Nice ambience. Good food very reasonable price. But the main dishes should have had some kind of bread with it and very less vegetables were there.

An excellent place to to have Mediterranean food in a relaxed setting, this place is located on St. Marks Road ( or rather below it ! ).
USP: Delicious Mediterranean food, excellent cocktails, and a peaceful ambiance !
What I liked: The food especially the pizza is one of the best wooden pizzas in the city, the cocktails are very good and the service is excellent !
What I didn't like: The food took quite some time to prepare, and the lightning is very dimly.
Recommended items:
a)Meatballs Spaghetti: The meatballs were very tasty and juicy, the spaghetti complimented it perfectly !
b)Four cheese pizza: If you love cheese this is the pizza to go for !
c) Mediterranean Vegetables Pizza: Excellent unique taste, this one is a must try !
d) Choco Mudslide: This cocktail has ice cream in it ! It tastes like a milkshake with a hint of alcohol, it is the perfect drink to go with your food !
Should you go here? If you are looking for a place with a pleasant ambiance, excellent service and Mediterranean food, then yes !

I’ve eaten meals delivered from Mezzuna Cafe, but yesterday, was the first time, that I dropped in for dinner with my friends. This space, housed the excellent ‘Oh Calcutta’ before and the turnaround in décor, is quite striking.
I liked the interiors, esp. the circular booths on one side and a mix match of seating everywhere else. The lighting is perfect, as well as the bric bracs like the photo frames etc. The panel above the booths though, with photographs of pizzas and stuff, seems totally off place and a bit fast food tacky.
I was a little late in arriving and my pals had ordered a smoked chicken with balsamic glazed onion pizza and the chilled watermelon-feta salad, along with some red wine to start the proceedings.
The pizza was fab, topped with loads of smoked chicken and the onion adding as edge. The salad arrived and looked pretty at first glance, but the feta was hardly a teeny smudge and the basil was pretty much limp, but the watermelon, along with the crunchy almonds and dressing, was tasty and refreshing.
I got a vodka-ginger sangria for my drink and it came in a tall glass. When I asked for a straw/stirrer, the staff said, that they had a no-plastic policy and hence didn’t have any! Erm..Well commendable policy, but maybe a metal/wooden one could have been supplemented? Else, better to serve in a more regular sized /wine glass, because it was tough to use the knife, as a replacement to stir in the drink. The drink was not bad though.
For mains, we got the seafood ravioli, pan fried fish, half grilled chicken and a stone grilled chicken, along with extra sides of rosemary potatoes and mash.
The fish was truly melt in the mouth and perhaps the best of the lot! The chicken dishes were really well cooked and tender. The ravioli was not bad and had a fish-prawn filling and came in a creamy sauce. The rosemary potatoes especially were delish. Could actually make a great starter too!
For desserts, we chose to share the Crème Brulee, but for some mix up, we were given the Pannacota. This looked rather cool, so we decided to not return it and proceeded to dig in. The Pannacota was really good in texture and loved the berry compote and crisp apple segments it came with; the kitchen realizing their mixup, sent us a complimentary crème Brulee! Which was really sweet. The Brulee, was excellent, with the right hint of sweetness and nice crispy snap and was voted the best of the two.
Service was generally brisk and friendly and the four of us, came out the restaurant rather pleased, with the money well spent. Highly recommended!

Food was good.. well the names in the menu were exorbitant but when compared to arrival of actual dish was a lil disappointment.. but definitely worth a try.. interesting variety of food.. would go again to try other items on the menu..

Loved the grilled mushrooms and LIIT. The starters were good. I loved the pizza as well... one must try the thin crust pizza they serve here with zucchini n capsicum. But limited options for Pizza w.r.t toppings.

The only problem was the Cheese cake. They don't know how to make it. It was so bad, that I cannot even describe it.

Note for the cafe owner/chef - please try the cheese cake & Tiramisu at Matteo, Matteo has the most cheesy and the best cheese cake ever. Or remove cheese cake from your menu. It's like a black spot in your menu. Even Truffles has good cheese cake.
We ordered Hot guava punch and Mango vango for drinks (non alcoholic). Hot guava punch was superb, spicy and cold (must have).
For starters, we ordered a Mezze platter again the dips were tasty, the focaccia bread was soft and perfect.
We ordered a tomato, basil and roasted garlic pizza, personally I am not a great fan of garlic but this dish was very well balanced. The crust of the pizza was extremely thin almost like a papad.
The hotel staff were very affable and took care of my eight month old daughter for sometime :)
Came here to celebrate 6 months of togetherness with a close friend! :-D
Ambience was outstanding, I loved the outside seating arrangement. They also have few books inside which adds up to the ambience.
We ordered fresh lime soda, crispy fried chicken wings, grilled chicken pasta in white sauce, chocolate fondant with vanilla bean ice cream. We were informed earlier that the dessert would take some 15 mins time and it was worth waiting! The manager was kind enough to ask the feedback about the food.
I came here in the month of March for the first time to meet this friend and we repeated the same place and food to celebrate our 6 months of togetherness! Nothing changed in this six months. The place, the food, the warmth..it just added another memorable night in our life.

Charm of a place. Comes along the same vibe as truffles but a lot cuter. Man those prawn skewers , so good. The buttery thingy along with it were angels... So picture perfect so taste perfect and so damn romantic. With all love in me, thank you chef 😘
The nachos were well made..ingredients were fresh, none of the flavours were overpowering and yet the subtleness wasn't boring.
Also the quantity was wholesome. We had the veg and it was such a beautiful composition of flavours that I ,the one who just takes a spoon to taste asked for a repeat order.
Jalapeño cheese balls was just the perfect nibble for a chitty chatty get together. With ample cheese and perfectly cooked exterior and the lovely spicy salsa to go with, it was just fab!
Chicken cheddar croquettes went very well with the BBQ sauce. The sauce was just too good. I felt the taste was a little mild. But that's just me. My friends loved the mild touch to the meat. Me however was looking a a screaming spicy flavour. Or may be just a lil spicy. Nevertheless finger licking good!

Not only they were sensible enough to deep freeze the cake since they noticed it to be icecream cake, stupid me didn't have the brains to inform them... But when they did get us the cake. They got with élan. Subtle bday songs playing in the background. And on a cake stand! God the cake stand made it look all the more amazing.
And not just that. They also sent us a complimentary cake. Such a cute lil gesture. I really really loved it.

Our servers had to put up with us for almost four hours. We were mad pigs. Im not kidding u. We were. Jumping around making noises , making the waiter wait when we cudnt decide what to order. We were a disaster.
But the server helped us zero in on many dishes and all turned up fab.
Oh and the drinks. The freshest mocktails in town. Water melon and tender coconut one and kiwi and lychee two be the most amazing mocktails I had in a while . so full of subtle flavours. It was omg, I totally loved them.
And why is this place so pocket friendly. I mean I love it. But it gotta make money right ? 100 something for mocktails and less than 200 for most nibbles. And I tell u. There is absolutely no cuts on the quantity or quality of the food. Top notch.
Beer batter fried fish was probably the only dish that didn't have much zing. Good but a lil meh. The pizza was superb though . freshest of ingredients. Thin crust . tasty AF.
My friend ordered spaghetti something (veg) with bellpapers and stuff. And that. Was perfection. With olives bellpapers tomatoes it was a very handsome dish. Even though u don't ever fill ur tummy with veg ( like me) do order that one.
Overall a must try place. Absolutely loved everything about it. And so budget friendly.
Will I come back? Yes. Eveytime I'm this side of town.

Subterranean eatery with good food and a nice vibe. Mojitos were quite good (though a tad strong). Falafel was very tasty, especially the wrap which was soft and fresh. I really wanted to like the baked fish but it was too salty. Chocolate cake was excellent. We sat in the patio smoking section which was thankfully not overwhelmed with cigarettes. Good place to try again.
Good food options for non-drinkers and vegetarians as well. Good variety for a quick bite/tea time snacking. Quality of tea is BELOW average, but snack items were GOOD. Ambience is GOOD in spite of being located below ground level with fair amount of road noise filtering in. Seems to be primarily a watering hole rather than a "cafe", evinced by larger indoor seating (in proximity to the bar) not being available for use during the day. Staff helpful. Some items on the menu were not available. Parking not available nearby.

The ambience is perfect for a romantic date. The food is delicious but the service is average as they forgot one of the items on our order.
We ordered the following :
Lebanese meatball in red oregano sauce: the meatballs were tender and the sauce was perfectly tangy but the penne pasta was not made in-house.
Pumpkin and blue cheese ravioli was creamy and cooked the perfection.
Philedelphia cheesecake with Berry compote was impeccable. The Berry compote was had the right balance of sweet and sour to compliment the cheesecake hence cutting the richness.
The portions were on the smaller side but it suits the value for money. Drop in if you're feeling Mediterranean :)

A few of us went to Cafe Mezzuna after another bloggers meet. The ambience is lovely with tastefully decorated nooks with books and mugs. It’s a cosy well lit place and has a good population of young and senior folks alike. Since we were late, we ordered only the Moroccan lamb pizza and beer. The mango panna cotta was complementary 🙂

Had lunch on a Friday afternoon.
# Place and Ambience - Both the outdoor and indoor seating are really good.
# Food - Had the meal option available with them. Contains one soup, salad, main course and a dessert. Apart from the quantity of the main course, quality and taste were really good.
# Service - Quick, did not spend too much time waiting.

The place is hidden on St. Mark's road. Just look for the board and markings towards the staircase leading to the basement.
The place is perfect to sit and chat with your friends and they will not ask you to move out even if you are done with your food. The place is not crowded even on weekends.
They claim to be the best place for Mediterranean cuisine. The staff is very well behaved and friendly. We were there for celebrating our friend's birthday and they gave a very beautifully assorted cheese cake (complimentary).

The restaurant is in the basement of Hotel Nahar Heritage. It serves Mediterranean cuisine. It is a all day cafe. The food is good, service prompt and the pricing is spot on. This is a good place if you are in the area and want to have drinks with something to eat and not be disturbed.

Food is simply good good good. Ordered a Lamb pizza thin crusted freshly baked well balanced with spice correct amount of cheese what else you need. In the dessert, Mango pannacotta was well made. In my life span, I made it enormous time but I tasted a really good quality here so really I am jealous of the chef now. Must try food destination at st marks road.
