This is our second home.. it’s jus 40 metres away and we visit at least once a week... all the dishes are my favourite.. especially the Ragi brownie and the thali.... best fooood ever.. love the quotes they write outside... don’t expect fancy stuffs bcoz it’s a matter of ur health buddy... u gotta make ur tummy happy and not ur tongue... my first recommendation to any visitor at my place is Vaatsalya :)
It's a beautiful set up which serves healthy food and I mean it. Thick palak soup or even the masala dosa I ordered had minimal oil unlike other restaurants I've been.
Loved the homely ambience which adds up to the ghar ka khaana feel!
The menu has less options and nothing unique but whatever they serve is delicious but the quantity could have been more.
Service is way too slow as they hardly have any waiters. That's a huge disappointment as waiting irks an empty stomach quite easily
VAATHSALYA MILLET CAFE is a Millet Based Cafe in JP Nagar. truly one of its kinds here in Bangalore. They are Specialized in making everything out of Millet.
1) Ambience is good, it's a homely feel on the inside and so much calmness and then again the Outdoor area is again full off greenery and comfort. love the authenticity of this place.
2) Service was good, I'm a happy customer for service here.
3) Amazing staff behaviour, freely spoken and felt like home. nice folks 😁
4) Food everything is healthy cuz they're all made out of millets and the stuff which isn't made from millets are vegetables obviously which is grown out in their farm in the most organic way possible and they don't add any additives and artificial flavouring which is so good. perfectly healthy food, it wouldn't be as tasty as your other junk food but i can assure you that they're on a good level for health and even taste is very pure taste which i loved the taste for. i mean, that's how food must taste ❤️
Simple on presentation, pocket-friendly place and good for you to eat these kinds of food. best thing about Millet food is that it doesn't stuff you up that easily.
MUST TRY :
Millet Cutlet
Millet Dosa
Millet Bisi Bele Bath
Millet Payasam
Carrot and Gooseberry Juice
Raw Mango Mint Juice
Aaralu Majjige

Good, healthy, clean food! We loved our visit here and the food was very good. We had the thali, veg cutlets and Dosa. All made with Millets and delicious! Would love to visit again. Do pay a visit here
The thought of having millet food is not pretty 😬
Many people don’t like millet . Basically people don’t like healthy food 😃 this cafe makes you love millet 😊 their all food items are good.
One must try millet puliogare and millet veg pulav!
Their service is great !
Price is reasonable too 😃
Overall good place for healthy food 😊
Everything made of millets.
One of those rare examples of authentic healthy food.
Cosy, relaxed, family place that also has a nice outdoor seating.
Parking is a bit of a problem, but there is plenty of it on the other side of the road.
Soothing food and environment. A must visit place for everyone. A calm place in JP Nagar with a whole lot of menu full of Millets(jowar). Went for lunch with a friend of mine, at first after seeing the menu i was little disheartened but when the food arrived and i took the first bite, i understood the meaning of simple and healthy food. There were no extra spices and oils in the food. Cant express the taste and ambiance by writing.
For all shopping lovers, they have a in-house healthy shopping complex.
I was having millets for the first time but I have to tell you the masala dosa was crispy, flavourful and delicious. Followed that up by a piping hot very satisfying masala chai. Loved it! Going back there again definitely!
I always wanted to visit this place. I was not disappointed. One of the few places where healthy food is also tasty. The host is gracious and polite. A must visit :)
Some really authentic dishes. All very tasty. Definitely try the Aralu majjige (buttermilk) - its out of the world. Ambience and service are average. Best thing about the food (that is apart from it being tasty) is that its very light on the stomach.
It's a great place if u don't want a cheat diet yet a tasty and healthy cuisine...
A pleasant contemporary ambience, with both indoor and outdoor seatings doesn't seem like it is located in the prime location of JP nagar...
Serves scrumptious millet food.. As we were there for lunch we could try #milletThali (suffient for 1) , #milletBisibelebath, #khakra which werevery delicious..
Service was quick and staff were courteous.. They even have a store selling millet food products and lovely apparel and accessories too...
So i highly recommend millet food lovers to try this place..
A beautiful yet simple cafe where you get a peaceful ambiance. With a great variety of millet items and a sandal free sitting, you would love to visit this place. I along with my friend talked to the owner about the benefits of organic food and a whole new vision opened up. A must visit for all health conscious people out there. Highly recommended.
Good food- simplicity is the usp. I liked the Dosa was not like the usual heavy ones we get in other restaurants. The packed food was not great.
Visited this unique restaurant for the first time. I had crossed it number of times and was really fascinated by the name Millet Cafe. It is a great place for a simple, tasty and healthy meal. I specially went to eat jowar roti. It was excellent. It was rolled thin and nice. The accompaniments were really good. The beans and the sprouts curry were really tasty and not too spicy. We also had vegetable cutlets which were shallow fried in very little oil. The majjige was very refreshing. My friend had millet मसाला डोसा. That was also hot and crisp. We ordered for some extra sambhar. The sambhar had a garam masala flavour. Finally the lemon cake was warm and delicious. Overall a nice experience. Would love to revisit this place and taste their other dishes
Their brownies and cakes are the healthiest and best in town! I couldn't believe it when they said they make these cakes out of Ragi,Jaggery and millets. Bisibelebath and other items,I'd rate them 4 out of 5.
Love this place for its simplicity and consistency on delivering healthy and nutritious food. A gracious lady runs this place and has been instrumental in turning this small idea into such a wonderful concept. Visit this cafe if you have the time. If not order their food online because it’s totally worth it! Keep up the great work!
This cafe needs a lot of attention from bloggers and foodies...!! Handled by a very enthusiastic lady, who did research on millets 15 years ago and launched her own series of millet products in the market. These are organic millets coming directly from the farmers at village.
Along with serving freshly prepared millet food on your table, they also serve you raw millets and some in-house snacks and drink powders made of millets. To add to all this, there's a room full of organic products from different parts of India. Aroma oils, essential oils, vinegars, honey, face and body packs, herbal teas,
Another room consisting of all terracotta cooking utensils like the old times, clothes from different weavers across rural India, traditional indian board games like Pallanguli, Pacheesi, Aadu puli aatam etc made in a traditional way, handmade journals, earrings, kurtis and jackets and what not...!! A total feast to your eyes if you love traditional art...!!
A quiet ambiance with greenery all around, some love birds, classical light music, fresh leaves from their garden on the table as a decor, vintage clocks and crockery...!! A perfect vintage cafe...!!
Now coming to food, everything that you order from here is made of one or the other type of millets..!! I ordered the below ones and can not complain anything about these dishes
* Millet malt with chocolate - Do you love hot chocolate? Then why not make it healthy with same taste...!! Yes, the millet malt with chocolate tasted just like the hot chocolate, except that it is more nutritional and healthy. You can end up having 2 cups of it, being guilt free...!!
* Millet Khakra - I love Khakras, which are originated from Gujrat. But these millet ones were more tastier than the masala ones i had earlier. Topped with some freshly chopped cucumber, onion, tomato and other fresh veggies, this makes a perfect tea time snack
* Millet Puliyogare - Puliyogare being one of my favourite dish, always failed to taste yummy and be healthy at the same time. This millet cafe here made it possible. Rice replaced with millets is a guilt free meal..!!
Overall a very great experience and a very satisfying one...!! Being a food blogger always comes with a drawback of unhealthy eating guilt and this is a place to detox and rejuvenate yourself...!!
I would surely recommend this place for all those fitness freaks, diet conscious people and even the unhealthy eaters..!! Give it a try and it is not gonna fail to impress you..!!
The food is really nice. Should try out their vegan brownie, millet khakra and millet pyasa. The ambience is perfect for chilling. The only area where they need to improve is efficiency of the management.
millet lemon rice is not good
First and Foremost I love the idea of the concept. Millets are packed with rich nutrients and should be a part of everyday diet for a healthy living. I loved the place for its homely ambience. I ordered a thali that consisted of various kinds of millets cooked to make different forms of general rice dishes. Rotis were made of maize and my meal course experience went off extremely well. If you love pulses and grains and are strict on what you eat. This place is heaven. Pure vegetarian and very Tasty. Definitely worth a try.
Thank you to Mrs. Jyoti for explaining what was there on my plate coz i have had a meal like never before. I feel healthy and good.
P.S :- The place offers organic products for sale too.
Very innovative menu with millets. Must visit! You will be amazed by the variety of dishes you can do with millets. We loved the masala dosa, cutlet, paddu and tambittu. Also check out their snacks section.
Very homely place and you can spend time leisurely.
We went to the cafe around 8.30 PM. At reception the cafe said that they are closing and hence have only 4 dishes left. We ordered something. In the middle of our meal, the owner approached us for feedback.
Owner: "How is the food?"
Me: "It's very good. Millet makes it healthy. It's a rare combination to have healthy and tasty food."
Owner: "Thank you. Can I help you with anything else?"
Me: "Yes. I have a question actually"
Owner: "Go ahead"
Me: "Why are you are closing down so early?"
Owner: "Actually we are promoting healthy lifestyle. Healthy habits, like early eating, along with healthy food."
My eyes twinkled with that answer. Such an honest effort.
Being someone who doesn't like organic products at all or anything regarding millets , I was forced to come because of my parents , they surely loved it but surprisingly I liked it and the taste is not all so sad ! Just minimal spices , so for someone who has never been to a millet cafe wouldn't like it but when compared to other places like green path and others , this place is too good ! Ambeince outside 4/5 because the chairs were little dusty , pricing 4/5 quantity of rice and sabji has to be a little more ! Over all 4/5
Not many South Indian healthy places in Bangalore, so Vaathsalya Millet Cafe came as a pleasant surprise. I went there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, and decided to have the Weekend Thali. It’s an all vegetarian restaurant, and I knew I’ll like it from the Zomato description itself!
Right from the chapatis, to the curries and rice, sambar and the rest, they were light and tasty. But it’s an acquired taste, might not please those used to lots of ghee, butter and oil. Miller’s were used in a lot of the dishes, and not surprising as the name of the place suggests.
A special mention goes to the millet curd dish (what’s normally curd rice) and the brinjal curry. I ordered a carrot juice, which was slightly sweetened with Jaggery. The next time, I must try the Puliyogare and Bisi Bêle Bath (made with millets of course). You can even buy organic produce here.
It’s missing a star, because it gets very warm inside. The Millet Cafe is located in a house in JP Nagar, and during the afternoons, gets very warm inside. I was sweating through the entire meal, and a couple of slow moving fans didn’t help at all. That for me was a major distraction from what could have been a perfect meal.
Loved the concept of the place straightway that everything is made out of millets. We ordered the millet cutlet. It tasted really well. The green chutney as a accompaniment was superb too. The millet puliogare and millet bisi bele bath were super delicious too. The millet masala dosa was amazing. The quantity of the puliogare was slightly less I felt but it's really delicious nevertheless. The ambience is well lit. The setting of the place is really beautiful as it is a home-converted-cafe. The place has a very rustic touch to it. Service was top notch too!
Healthy and heartwarming food at reasonable price. Small portion size (sufficient for a single guest, though) provide ample opportunity to try different items on the menu. A must-visit place for weight-watchers and anyone seeking an alternative to rice.
Would be good if they offered dinner options too.
Nice ambience as comparable garden restaurants with healthy and tasty food being offered. Price is on the moderate terms with good quality. Might have to work on the quantity though
Quite and clean place to hangout with your friends. Especially when you're in a mood to eat something healthy.
Food - 5/5
We ordered Millet Puliyogare, Millet Bisibelebath, Millet cutlet and coffee.
Cutlet was okay. Puliyogare and BBB was excellent! Especially the tangy green raitha which was served along with Puliyogare was mind blowing! I loved the way how coffee was served. It was either made with jaggery or less sugar because it didn't taste too sweet and tasted just about right!
Ambience - 4/5
It's a restaurant that's converted from a house building, quite close to the main road. The furnitures are a bit stiff to sit in case you're planning to sit for a long time
Quantity - 1/5
This was a huge disappointment. Although we loved the Puliyogare and the rest, the quantity was surprisingly less. Everything got over within few scoops.
To conclude, this place is definitely worth a visit :)

Great place to EAT if you really want to eat healthy food. ambience is good too. Tried, Dosa, utappa, and thali. everything was good though vegetables were a bit spicy. kids loved the ragi choco milk. I bought the powder and make it at home now.
Awesome Place with nice healthy and tasty food, I would recommend to have millet Thali and try to go on weekdays as it will be easier to find a table, weekends are full and you have to wait to have delicious food.
I don't mind waiting though. :)0
Today 02/April/2018 Monday, me and my colleague went eagerly to have Lunch. Sadly we came to know that Monday is Holiday. Please update it somewhere
Finally went today and had Thali. Looking at the reviews was very much excited about the quality. Ordered Thali - Roti is not at all hot, Payasa is ok, felt Curd rice is not fresh, bhindi curry is also not fresh. looks like few items were cooked in the afternoon or morning. Overall not a good experience. If visiting this place, Weekdays esp. Dinner- no to Thali.
Updated Comment(08/08/2019) - Quantity and Quality has improved. 4 Stars now
Very Expensive
If you are looking for healthy and tasty Millet based FOOD, then this is the place for you! Every single dish that we ordered met our expectations and more.
The AMBIANCE could do with a little sprucing up, considering that the Prices are on the higher side.
The SERVICE was very friendly.
We will frequent this place for the healthy and delicious food.
Trying to ho healthy? Then go this millet cafe in Jp nagar they have tasty and healthy khaana for all ❤️ •

Really great food and calm ambiance. The food is really tasty. Serves the taste for a healthy diet. Nice service in the restaurant. Bought Soil-less culture plants from AquaGrow India.
It's 3rd time I have been to this place, they serve very healthy and tasty food, ambience is also good , staff are friendly. I would like to visit this place more frequently
What a find! I can't believe this place has been around for so long, and I haven't hauled my rump over to eat here! Its not flashy, the decor is pretty straightforward, and the menu is definitely on the tiny side.
Which is perfect because the food is just fantastic! It's healthy and tastes good, and has all these flavours that you vaguely remember from the times you didn't stuff face with processed food.
Had the weekend thali which, at 240 bucks, is on the expensive side. But you really get a full meal, more than enough to fill the tummy. Also tried the palak soup which was good and hot, but a bit too peppery for my taste.
Will definitely visit this place again to try the alacarte options. It may be a fair way off, but definitely worth the travel. A welcome addition to the healthy food options in the city.
It’s the bed miller cafe around jp nagar. Love the thali there.
The ambience is quaint and very relaxing.
The millet paysa is amazing.
So a great location for foodies and for those watching on a diet but need a healthy break.

Thank God for this place! With all the talk of millets being a better alternative to rice (and good for the planet as the crops need lesser water) I really wanted to give cooking millets a shot. However, when all my attempts at cooking millets failed miserably, I decided the next best thing to do is to visit a place that knows how to cook it. Here, you get full meals made with millets - from the buttermilk to the dessert. Their thalis are reasonably priced, the food is light (not greasy) yet quite filling. Based on reviews here, I tried their khakhra which was tasty but it might make sense to order if there are many people sharing it.
The only downside is that this place gets crowded and you may need to wait forever to get a table. The first time I visited it was very crowded and the staff were not too friendly either, but the second time I walked in at 2.15 pm and immediately got seated and served. The staff were also more courteous and happily answered my questions on how to cook millets.
I advise booking a table in advance if you are planning a visit. They also sell the millets they serve here - I am absolutely satisfied with my purchase of chocolate ragi and aralu powder.
If you are into clean eating and savour simple, vegetarian food - you must visit this place.
Vaathsalya Millet cafe serves simple and healthy South Indian food.
The menu spreads across millet dishes which is very unique to say the least.
Located next to Nexa showroom near the underpass the cafe can be located easily. The ambience is not at all jazzy but calm with lots of plants and chairs made of bamboo which compliments the simple food Vaathsalya serves.
Had been here a couple of times and had been awed by the food. The millet payasam served with the thali is awesome. The preparation of each dish is kept simple with minimal use of oil and spices.
The portions are adequate for a person but some might consider it less. The pricing is standard. The people serving are welcoming and it takes around 10-25 mins for dishes to arrive on your table once ordered.
Happy eating!
The ambience is very calm and serene. Good place to go in groups. If you want to have an healthy food this is the place of choice. The food tastes quite good and I feel its worth it. There was not much delay in serving food and the staff were polite. Overall you gotta try this place if you choosing to eat healthy.
They have put in good effort to make healthy food, taste good as well. The soups, khichdi and kheer were really nice. Even the butter milk tasted good with some special ingredients mixed into it. The chapattis could be better.
The ambience is very calming. Overall a nice place to go for a healthy meal

Loved the kakra, the modaks, the chocolate malt, the bisibele, the tomato soup...light on the stomach and nice ambience...would definitely like to come back for more. Very limited menu though
This is one of my favorite places in entire Bangalore. Aunty is so nice. So does not preach. She walks the talk. She wears the same Sarees that she gets made with the handloom artisans of Hampi. The food is really healthy and no adulteration in either food or the ambience. Everybody is so nice there. I left Bangalore. Now also when I meet her, or call her, she is so warm and motherly. I used to shop my ragi and all kinds of millets from there. And would send for my mother too. In fact I discovered it accidentally while taking a stroll after a crazy heavy food at a Rajasthani place across the road. I bought a nice saree for my mother too. My only feedback is - please play nice Carnatic music too. You play only Isha Yog music.
Healthy food. Different taste; wide range; would feel lighter even after having good proportions; Good ambience. Also sells food items and sarees too!
Food is really good and Healthy. People not tried millets then this is one of the best place to start with. We were just passing by this hotel and thought of giving a try. Ambience and service is good but price for a meal is bit higher.
items tried:
Amla drink:4.5/5
Passion fruit drink:4.5/5
Thalipettu: 4.5/5
chutney with that: 5/5 (too good, the star of this visit)
kai Tambittu: 4.5/5
Thali: 4/5
Paddu with same chutney: 5/5 Amazing.
Ambience: in this rain, very good outdoors except problem of mosquitos.
Will visit again: definitely yes with family n friends 😊
These people make healthy food tasty. Definitely worth the money you pay.
The ambience is the stand out for the place.
Would recommended the meal.
Food tastes great; it is low on oil and spices and brings out the natural taste of food. We ordered the thali and loved the taste of authentic home cooked millet meal. The starter Koothambittu tasted heavenly; veg cutlet in starters was cooked with very less oil, and tasted very different and we could taste the veggies in it. Ragi buttermilk that comes with the thali was nice; on weekends they serve bisibelibath which tasted super ... and different from the regular stuff.
We liked this restaurant so much that we went back the next day for another meal...and loved it again. Very courteous service; has an old world, homely charm
A decent place with some healthy food! Though less stuff on the menu, a must visit place health conscious and millet loving people! Prices are pretty OK
Good food , very healthy , tried millet dishes. hygienic ,new concept, really nice ambiance, we wl visit again, but parking is littile bit trouble .
Well, people who call themselves food explorers, this place is your real test about your claim.
I too was on such a test. Though I didn't liked the food much but I also didn't disliked it. Knowing preparations are from millet, I wanted to give it a try and this place surely worths one. Coming to food taste is very subjective. But chutneys and sambhar were really good.
Place is such peaceful and calm, that you really love that. In today's world of music and lights, this place is peace to soul. You're supposed to remove your footwear even though you're seating on table chairs. Unique and different. They have kept it original and no artificial decoration. Kudos. You'll feel as if eating in your own flat being hosted.
Service is pretty good and nice. Portions are standard.
Our bodies are not meant to deal with fake food. Cheers to your moto.
Visit date - 19th May
Decent place to sit quietly in the evenings. They have awesome healthy food. Should definitely try the cucumber juice, it's worth a shot. Not too pricy as well.
If you ever feel like eating healthy food, this is THE place to visit, awesome preparations from Millet, had been to lunch here and ordered their Thali, I was very satisfied with the food and also their service, plan to visit here more often.
Ambience: 5
Food: 5
Service: 5
Price: 5 (reasonably priced for millet items, they are twice or thrice the cost of normal grains)
Had breakfast today - Dosa, Paddu and Malt. Excellent taste, great ambience. Sure to visit again. Very clean, homely with lot of warmth. Price may feel little high at first but it is just right for overall experience.
Hit this place for - " Healthy and comfort food, made out of millets. Also to experience the South Indian food which is cooked by a happy soul and served with warmth"
The place is very welcoming with its earthy touch, quite good number of plants, chairs and tables were made out of bamboo. One might find solace to dine in portico.
Food is certainly cooked with lot of love and affection, we tried few dishes and everything tasted delicious and very satisfying.
Thalipatu with chutney- it's pretty much like masala akki roti. Instead of rice flour they mix Ragi flour, millet flour, jowar flour. Chutney went along with the thalipatu perfectly.
Paddu with chutney - I was very doubtful to try paddu, as it was made out of millet flour, but it was a pleasant surprise, it was a good idea to prepare it like that.
Miller paysam - It was creamy, with right amount of jaggery in it and millets were cooked well. The entire preparation was perfect.
Ragi malt - it was super thick with mild flavour of elachi.
I would love to try more dishes on their menu soon. Service was very impressive, which has certainly made us very comfortable and left a contented and happy feeling at this place.
Food pricing is very appropriately done. Visit this place for early dinner.
So the meaning of vaathsalya varies from affection to parental care to love and these words clearly describe how the food is made. Every bite of the food you have here tastes like as if it's made with so much affection and love. This place is on the main road next to the nexa showroom and it can give the nexa showroom a run for its money if I have to say. I tooky mum and dad on the eve of shankranti here and the food was so tasty. They used millets in the akki roti they made and the they gave this buttermilk at the end of the meal which really made me go back in time and remember the buttermilk our grandparents used to make and give us. This place will always have a special place in my books. People who want to eat healthy south indian food without worrying about the calories should eat here.
Had been for family dinner yesterday. Landed at this place around 8ish to find a board outside saying dinner served between 6 to 8 pm. After a few anxious moments of worrying about finding another place, we were asked to rush in. Understood from the staff that the early closing time was to promote early dinner for health reasons. Walked into modest ambience with modest menu. We were the last customers for the day and the only thing left was the thali. Roti with the side dishes were really good. It was followed with rice which didn't really earn my appreciation for being quite bland. Overall good healthy experience. With a major shift of food lovers towards healthy eating, a little bit of attention on marketing and maintenance would help millet cafe go a long way.
Good food and ambience. Loved the flavour of Millet, the layout and felt healthy and satisfied at the end of the meal! Would love to visit again
Very good healthy food. Good ambience. Nice people. The management is more focused on promoting healthy food and eating habits than commercialization. That could be the reason the restaurant closes by 8 pm as it is good habit to finish dinner early.
Very good restaurant.
Friendly staff.
Must visit for the health conscious.
Northern Karnataka food, Dosas etc all made with millets !
Very Nice and Healthy Food. Does not make you feel that you have overeaten or binged.
Tried the Dosa, Puddu , Uthappam, Cutlet, and the Thali. Everything was freshly made and tasty.
Ambience too is nice. Its a house converted to a restaurant. Very Quiet and you can enjoy your meal here.
If you love homely and healthy food, then a must try place. Each dish is prepared with keeping the health factor in mind and they are truly delicious.
This place has offered different dish and a nice surprise along with it every time I have been there.
Was excited to visit this place and finally got there today!! It's a pleasant home style cafe. Best place for fitness freaks as they serve only organic n healthy food. The concept is very nice n unique but it's too over priced. The meal costs 220 and it barely fills your stomach. Suggest you to add some more dishes in the meal or cut down the price. Service was extremely slow. I saw a few kids who were so tired waiting for food and were feeling low. This is so not good. But otherwise I loved the food. Everything was new n fat free. The khakra was Amazing!!! Must have it !!! Suggest you to provide faster service and you'll be the best in town. :)
This is the first millet cafe I went to, not that I know of many. I love their pumpkin soup. That's what I go for always. Other food items are a little pricey. The place is clean, hygienic.
It's a house/home converted into a makeshift restaurant. If you've ever stayed at a company guest house this place will give you a similar feel. There are only 5 tables indoors with a seating capacity of 22 at a time. They have more seating capacity outside but you'd not prefer outdoors unless it aint sunny. So if you are out on weekends be prepared to wait for about 30 mins before you get a seat. The place has no air conditioning.
After what would feet like a 'really long time' your order will be taken. The menu is just 1 page so you'll not be spoilt for choice. And then expect your food to arrive after what would feel like a 'really long time'. We waited 60 minutes from the time we arrived at the restaurant, till the time I had my first morsel. But man!
I loved it ! Loved the food! Jowar roti was exquisite n so were the curries. We had ordered millet meals and millet khakra. Khakra was brilliant n a must try !
Will definitely go back. But I hope the owners pay heed to our suggestions and improve staff to cater to customers efficiently.
We were very excited about this place when it opened initially and visited quite a few times. The food is super nutritious, home-style and very tasty. What put me off was their stinginess with respect to the quantity. The portions are just tiny and the servers are usually overworked so one ends up waiting a long time for refills. They just need to be more generous with the food and it's not that the pricing is low either. The lunch/dinner meal is good but again the size of the meal was not enough even for my pre-teen kiddo.
Once a large group of us had gone for breakfast and we paid around ₹200 extra only for additional servings of chutney and sambar!
VAATHSALYA really does ozzes with a lot of love. The first place you can see this is in their gener of food, that is the world of Millets. Undoubtedly a lot of love has gone in to making this beautiful menu. The ambience is very simple, which has been done in a manner to give you a feeling of home. We thoroughly enjoyed the wholesome & delicious food. To get a feel of the place I would recommend you to have their Thali which gives you an idea of what the place has in store for you.
Try this place for fantastic nutritious food.
Worthy mention are
THALIPATTU - ROTI with Chutney
RAJMUDI RICE - with Rasam
KHAKRA - with vegetable & masala toppings.
ARALU MAJJIGE - buttermilk
MILLETS KHICHIDHI

Came upon this cafe by chance and was curious as I've been looking for organic cafes. The bonus was the whole experience with millets.
Simple, humble service ... almost home like. The food I know is healthy, but the portions are small. Bought a couple of their packaged treats and am pleased as punch that my lunch benefited not just me but our farmers too :)
Picked up the place randomly and had Amazingly healthy food, fantastic ambience and awesome service. It's an experience worth everything !!!!
Went there for unch with a friend. The food is yummy and different. The bajra roti and makki ki roti are amazing. The cooked vegetable they served us was lauki - superbly cooked. So many millets! Never knew. They have some amazing potted plants as well.
Met the couple who own the cafe. Nice people! :)
Tasty, healthy, clean, great ambience and value for money. What else we need in a restaurant.?
I see sincere effort to serve healthy food there. These kind of restaurants must be encouraged than those who sell utter junk as food.
First millet cafe that I dined in Bangalore! Footwear not allowed inside - in case you wanna use the rest room you gotta use a common pair of sandals parked outside. A bit annoying if you are wearing shoes. Found the meals a bit pricey for the (very limited) quantity offered. Extremely satisfying service and food taste.
I came to Bangalore on a official trip for few days. My hotel is nearby to this place. Spotted this place while going to office. Checked the review in zomato, planned and went in the today evening. This place is easy to locate.
Ambiance is one of the big plus for this restaurant. The way to go inside itself pretty cool. They have 2 different seating arrangements. One outside with wooden furniture and the other inside with normal tables and chairs.
They have books, millet stuffs, organic mango etc inside for sale. Displayed nutrition chart of various millets. Name of millets in different languages and its benefits are also printed and laminated for visitors to read. It was useful.
Menu is very limited. Only few items were there in menu. I ordered thali. The content of same is available in the photo i added with this review. The taste of all the items in thali was really good. Roti alone is too hard to eat not great. Payasam is slightly less sweeter but good.
Mint lemon ordered additionally was disappointing. They add jagerry inplace of sugar spoils the taste. Quantity was too less. Price was reasonable for the ambiance and quality they give. Worth trying.
Kindly note the restaurant timing. It will be closed by 8pm. When i enquired they explained that it is part of healthy pratice to complete dinner by that time. Ambiance will be at its best post sunset. Do give a try.
Love the ambience outside..rustic seating..humble waiter took our order and we had 4 items to be tasted and decide if this place had cracked the code ...I must say it definitely did...we have ragi millet buttermilk which I loved to last sip...followed by veg cutlet which was tasty but I can't put my finger on what it lacked ...maybe more taste...some consistency...because it was falling apart...followed by khichdi which I really liked ...this was served with raita and then some plain cooked millet with sambar...while I'm quite impressed of how perfectly the millet cooked I cannot say the same about the sambar which was just about average...not tasty...while there are million ways these tastes can be improved upon...these guys definitely have their theme and heart in right place...making tasty millets ☺️😍...my suggestion is compliment the millets with better curries and if possible some smoked non veg servings...within no time the place will be crazy popular
Very new experience. Place is good. Service is good. Food was good. Healthy food and healthy atmosphere. Good for family lunch. I suggest the place.
It's the first millet cafe in Bangalore, Healty and tasty food!!! They have put in good amount of effort to make it, ordered cutlet wic was very nice. We ordered thali, very unique items and very tasty as well, it was not filling though. Masala dosa was not that good, the only let down. Overall very good experience, hope more millet friendly places open up like this!!!

Looking for food that is both healthy and tasty? Well then this is a place you gotta try. My first impression was that I walked into someone's home. And truth be told it is a home turned restaurant. The food purely revolves are bajra, ragi, jovar etc. I loved the homey feel combined with the simplicity of the food. The thali is a good option if your hungry and so is the masala papad. You can even pick up a few ragi based ready to eat dishes on your way out. The only draw back is that there isn't too much variety nor is the quantity of food sufficient. It is ideal for a light and wholesome meal
