Thank you to the staff for being so courteous and kind. I stopped by the restaurant today because my tyre burst and I was terribly sick from all the throwing up from residency road to ulsoor. The staff was so kind and made sure I sat down got a glass of both warm and cool water and waited patiently till was in a position to move from there. I rarely find this kind of approach from restaurant anymore and was so humbled. Once again thank you. I didnt get a chance to get the waiters names down but a big big thank you to them both.

I have been here a couple of times. Even though the renovation was going on, I would say - it didn't impact the service here.

The staff was very accommodating to our needs.

Namma Bengaluru! Here I am again the big travel buff and a crazy pub hopper. What else can you expect in the pub capital of India? Nomads like me flock to every nook and corner of the city to get a taste of the lip smacking and finger licking food. Only this time I decided to do a restaurant review on Urban- Solace CafĆ©-for-the-soul , Ulsoor.Ā So you better not dally . Not only that if you just walk in on Wednesday, the place is bound to treat you with budding stand-up comedians. The place is well renowned for the various events that are routinely conducted like book readings, wine tasting and live amateur music nights to name a few.
My closest pal from college invited me to this place quite a couple of times during his poetry recitals. He is a big poet, you can very well stalk him in Instagram @aromaofversesĀ but alas I only ended up disappointing him repeatedly. So, I thought itās was high time I made it up to him. It was my Big 25 and we chose Urban SolaceĀ the entire 5th block in Koramangala. As far as my memory goes, it was drizzling and we decided for the seat by the balcony overlooking the Ulsoor lake. Our senses were already heightened by the smell of the petrichor.
We eventually settled for the dining hall a level below the grand balcony to savor our wine and delicious meal. The ambience and the friendly working staff, along with the personalized service added to the charm of the entire place. Itās a place where every soul would want to be. In the labyrinth of books surrounded by bottles of wine and just with the greatest pals of all time. You can savor an exhausting list of wines and treat your eyes to books from every possible genre be it thriller, romance, action, drama, fiction. Name it and itās just there.
We started off our celebration with a 15-glass pitcher of Sangria and since then the mere thought of it makes me salivate. This was followed by a 4-course meal, yes you heard it right. A perfect blend of Indian and continental cuisine. Mexican meat balls for starters followed by most of our all-time favorite Pasta Alfredo, and last but not the least an authentic Red Thai curry chicken garnished with basil.
Wait! what did you have for deserts?
Now unless Iām a victim of retrograde amnesia, I would say we did have a brownie but I believe we were carried away by our never-ending photoshoot.
If you are looking for a budget friendly dine-out option or an exquisite grape escape, Urban Solace is just the right place to be. With its refreshing dƩcor and theme based rooms you are in for one gala time. Special thanks to my friends for making my birthday so special. I look forward to tasting Davidoff cafƩ Rich Aroma on my next visit to this place.

They host multiple events, from poetry readings to musical performances to stand-up comedy. Do check with them about the days/dates and other details before heading there for one.

Visited urban solace today after almost 4+ years and it was such an absolute hit of nostalgia.
Everything seems to be the same which I absolutely adore tbh. Today we just had their cold coffee and chocolate thick shake, which were both good. However, I do know that their cheese balls are amazing, so don't miss out on that.
Food is of good quality although a lil expensive.Owner voluntarily bought cake for a friends BDay when he overheard us talking. very quiet and cosy outlet. perfect for a friend or family outing. Highly recommended for a quick grab of food.
Just a brilliant place! The food is amazing and the location opposite the lake is just perfect! They have a good menu on offer and the place is all about positive vibes which you feel in abundance! The beautiful small, cozy, comfortable outlet is next of Ulsoor lack, a mix of monthly events and meetups for young crowd and artist of the cultural mix. I love their English breakfast and the combination stuffed paratha's but that is for me, you will be happy to find many more amazing food options out there for veg and nonveg both. The taste of bacon and sausages still on my tongue there is a wall reserved for an artist to display their work with the artsy atmosphere with small wine collection. Cafe Goes well with their tag line "Cafe for the soul" I happen to visit this place during the month of February the month of love and soul mates and was lucky to be part of the wall of love, where they plan to hang all love messages from all the people who visited this place for the whole month, was mesmerised by the messages and ideas of love people have that's just unbeatable.
You will get nice food fantastic ambience behind the Ulsoor lake. It's true you will not get the lake view but place will make your mood for sure!

I had attended a poetry recital of a friend which was conducted here. Loved the ambience and the space for conducting such events. The place being situated right next to Ulsoor lake is an added advantage. Dint get time to try a lavish dinner or lunch but managed to have some starters which was good enough and spicey. I would defined go back to enjoy the real food here.
Only constrain is lack of parking space if you are planning to come in your own vehicle. Otherwise you can take a cab and not worry about it!
Like it's name a really nice calm place to hangout in peaceful corner of Bangalore. In alcohol they only serve wine but it is good to order bottles and have it. We had Sula red and white wine
Tried cheese balls in starter which was really yummy with good cheese qutiont, though it is bit costly. Peanut Masala was really prepare good to go great with wine. In main course tried some weird costly combo ( can't recall the name :) ) that has fried rice with spicy Paneer and salad but it was decent in taste.
Ambience is great, serving staff is really decent, bit more on Pocket but it's worth visiting.
A very happy place giving you the hippie vibes. The ambience is very laid back and an amazing place to chill with friends. The food is good in terms of quality and quantity for the price. The seating can be a little congested in the ground floor. The thing I loved most was the little chit with philosophical quote you can pick up from a bowl when you leave.
Interesting event space. Right across from ulsoor lake which is quite nice. Had the pasta and it was good and spicy. Interiors could be fixed a bit more as itās quite run down.

I visited this place once, for a Sunday breakfast and it did complete justice to what they described on the menu.. the ambiance of the place feels like home,perfect place for coffee and a book to spend some time.
I ordered twice through Zomato. Very prompt delivery on both occasions. One day I tried chicken stroganoff and fish-n-chips. Stroganoff was not very tasty and vegetables were almost raw (English style?). But fish was very nice -far better tasty than fish served in England. The other day I ordered Alu porota for a vegetarian guy but he was horrified to find onion in it. But the stuffed chicken breast was very good.
Tucked into a road right next to ulsoor lake, the ambience here is amazing. They have very good pastas, along with a collection of wines and sangria to look out for. I personally love the house wine here. A great place to sit and work at, or chill with your friends.

Since my husband was performing at an open mic at Urban solace, we headed to this place. We had least expectations in terms of food from this place . We just went there for a few laughs. But since it was dinner time already, we ordered Penne Romano and cheese balls. And gosh, we were amazed by the taste. The pasta was made in red and white sauce. It was simply delicious. The cheese balls too were melting in the mouth kinds. This place is worth the visit, definitely :)

It is definitely a place worth visiting. Service was decent overall (an ad hoc request for charging phone was turned down). They don't have free WiFi either (a necessity these days I feel). Coming to food, ordered a Special English Breakfast platter. Started up with traditional English Coffee, followed by top notch Hashbrowns and baked beans. Cheese omlette was amazing and scrambled eggs were good as well. Bacon was above average, both in terms of taste and quantity, but Chicken sausages tasted great nonetheless.
Adding up on that, ordered Red Wine Sangria, which complimented this breakfast pretty nicely, but will prefer Raya over it. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the place to all those who have a thing for good breakfast. Keep up the good work!
One of my favorites in Bangalore. Love the vibe of this place. You can come here for a late weekend brunch or an evening for wine, it's perfect for all moods. Will recommend their Raya (house wine) red wine from the wine menu. Thai green curry is average in terms of taste but the portions are good enough for one person. My personal favourite here is the chicken club sandwich which has layers of chicken, eggs and salami between lightly toasted bread served with coleslaw. Five on five for the service.

Warm and comforting, both the food and the place. Had a good experience. Ordered cream of tomato soup which was very tasty. Would definitely come here again. We visited Urban Solace on a Sunday Morning for Breakfast.
The first impression of the place is good. Urban Solace gives you a very relaxed and calm feeling throughout.
We ordered for a plate of Alu Paratha & a Spinach Corn Sandwich. Both were equally brilliant.
We later ordered a Gobi Paratha which was average.
The Masala Chai was good.
Suggestion: Avoid using tables with table clothes. They get dirty and itās difficult to remove the stains. And the stains donāt leave a good mark on the customers.

My usual escape on breezy days. With the different events happening every week and the rooftop facing the Ulsoor lake, this place gives you good vibes after hectic work days. I totally love their Tuna salad, and their all day English breakfast. Their Sangria is decent too! Other than that, burgers are decent and not too bad.

Its a tiny cafe with a view of the Ulsoor lake (in the first floor). I have always enjoyed the food here with wine. I ordered the crispy chicken burger which has been my go-to choice and Arabiata pasta which turned out to be good as well. The garlic bread is worth mentioning considering how soft and scrumptious they were. The only problem we faced is the lack of efficient service. If that is fixed, its a great place to spend your time sipping some wine.
I took my doggo and had a decent meal here, shared my Fruit Punch wid her, and tried Chicken Stroganoff and a side of Mashed Potatoes. Waitstaff was "scared" of my Pomeranian, and this in a cafĆØ which prides itself on being pet friendly š Anyway, food was good.

Urban solace is one of those places which are highly underrated, the ambience is laid back and the staff is very courteous. Although the service is not super fast the food definitely is worth the wait. Not only that, they organize live music and poetry events. It's a good place to indulge in the fine taste of things.

Culturally rich with an ambiance to make you feel fresh young and alive - urban solace is a beautiful experience in itself. The owner who was taking the orders and serving seemed to be a sweet person and I admire his humility. The food tastes great and a wide assortment of events keep happening there. In fact, I myself visited because of a film screening! So yeah, soothe your soul with this brilliant urban solace!
I've visited this place several times as it's very close to where I live. Besides the variety in their menu, they also host a variety of events, catering to different audiences. At other times, the place is quiet with a good ambiance. The food is clean, well presented and tasty. They also have free WiFi which makes it a great destination to work from, this interests me mainly because of my nature of work. If you are looking for the same experience, I would recommend that you visit 11 am - 5 pm but if you want to have a good time with friends then best to drop by during an event at night esp. LOL, their comedy event which happens every week.
One of the best places in Bangalore to unwind and chill. (Oh, their heavenly bacon!) I've always, always returned with positive experiences whenever I've visited, and I've been a patron now for 2 yrs.
Sometimes, you gotta wait a bit so be prepared for it, but time moves in a different speed here. And sometimes that's good. Sometimes, it's better to let the chef do his thing and magic takes time. I look down upon muggles who demand every diner/restaurant to serve food fast like a McD, which ironically is always super slow.
Things won't be perfect here but as positive as could be. And you could always go with your concerns to the wizard in the house, le Perry. The man is Santa's twin, I swear.

One of my favorites places to just sit and read books have great conversations over some great drinks and food. Overlooking Ulsoor lake, the first floor gives you a great setting for having deep conversations.
Quaintly perched on rooftop of an apartment overlooking the Ulsoor lake, with aĀ fabulous view of the glimmer of park lights on the waters through the rim of shadowy trees andĀ the refreshing comfort of the cool draft of wind that soaks you in, this is a wonderful place to be to spend an evening for a casual dining out - not as much for the fish+chips and the chickenĀ steak soused in mushroom sauce that taste fairly decent but may not be enough to rave about, itĀ is about the beautiful view and feel where the merlot taste better. The seating area downstairs converted out of living rooms with gaudy postered walls may not have as much openness ofĀ the roof-top seating but lends a casual feel with yellowed books and curios.Ā
The service is casual as the young waiters amusingly @#% confuse red wine with the white, oneĀ can choose to ignore their gaffes for their friendly nature and the genial-natured owner.
Call it being biased but this place gives me solace and peace within Everytime we visit it.
With an amazing view of the Ulsoor Lake ahead and options for sitting outdoors, this place provides a beautiful setup for lazy Sunday brunches and on the spot plans for evening coffee and tit- bits. This place is absolutely beautiful. At first I felt it looked like a small place but when I entered it, I realised it has many areas of seating. The best is the rooftop seating because of the amazing view of ulsoor lake.
Urban Solace has a very homely feel to it. You feel like you are seated in your balcony overlooking a beautiful lake, enjoying the peace and serenity. The place is surrounded by trees and there are a lot of bird visitors that add to the pleasant ambience.
Thus ambience is superb and I rate it 4.
The food is equally good. I had basic french fries. When you order simple food you expect it to be perfect, and believe me, these french fries were perfect. Crisp, the right amount of salt and a hearty amount on the plate, it was just the thing I needed for my hunger.
The pasta was brilliant and the best thing is breakfast menu is available even in lunch hours. So I had waffles with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. This was a treat for my taste buds. Food is 3.5
I think this is the perfect place to go to on dates. It has a romantic setting and privacy.
The manager is really friendly and lovable. I have never seen a more hospitable and kind manager and that is why I mention him here. He made my experience even more memorable.

It is right beside Ulsoor lake with a stunning view and a wine collection I am envious of. The pasta with the red sauce was perfect and i love the garlic bread and the cheese fries they serve here. Once the order is taken people don't pester you to keep ordering like other places and its the perfect place to enjoy a novel which you haven't finished in a while.The staff is well trained and friendly and helpful .

The only problem I have is I don't really find this place that clean. The table cloth, the times I've been there haven't been changed I would still find stains and crumbs on it.
We went here to attend a cousin's art šØ exhibition! We had a gala time chatting over tea ā and visiting the exhibition. Realized that they have frequent stand up comedy shows and other cultural events. The location is very nice, easy to spot. The rooftop sitting arrangement was very nice covered by a green canopy. #avrilsfoodjournee.
I still recall fondly the way they served the lemon tea.

I've been to Urban Solace a couple of times and have had a different experience each time.
The beef burger and the chicken burger I had in one of my initial visits left me craving for more. The burger buns were fresh and soft, the iceberg lettuce crisp the meat cooked to perfection and the burger juicy. I also enjoyed the french fries immensely....I was really happy it didn't taste like the cardboard that's usually served at fast food joints.
At a more recent visit, I decided to take the veg route and ordered myself a veg pasta salad. Such a let down. Some of the penne was not cooked and the dish was pretty tasteless. My friend on the other hand ordered a Fish Stake with Lemon Butter Sauce. Now he's a calorie counting health nut and kept cribbing about the amount of butter on his plate....but that didn't stop him from polishing off everything on the plate. The garlic bread was good as was the rice. We were extremely happy not to find any bones in the fish and the sauce was the highlight of the dish.
I was a lil disappointed with the 3 "scoops" of ice cream. When you say scoop I imagine perfect round globes of ice cream on the plate...not 3 hastily scraped bits of the dessert plonked on the plate.
Over all, a good dining experience. The food is priced slightly on the expensive side. Whether you sit inside or out, the service is prompt and the servers attentive. Good for a nice romantic dinner or for catching up with friends.
The stuffed mushrooms, poulet champignon, thai curries are delish to name a few. A variety of creative and literary events are hosted here. It's a warm and welcoming space that lives up to its name.

The food, the ambiance just out of the box. We went there on a Saturday evening after playing Holi little skeptical of we would even be allowed to enter but they let us wash up in their squeaky clean restrooms. I loved the staff there. We ordered cheese balls and stuffed mushrooms...Too good. The paranthas were not that great but was pretty good. The paneer gravy. Man! They had made it on a pasta based sauce and we loved it a lot. Lake side view and happy people around.
I went here for an informal meeting. Loved the place as it was quiet and had a positive vibe around it. Parking was a tad bit difficult though that's the case in most areas around Bangalore. The beverages we had were good but draining them out wasn't in a very clean atmosphere.
The burgers seemed something to die for but we didn't tempt ourselves too much with it.
