When you go from Agara towards Maharaja signal, Koshe Kosha is located on the right hand side , in the signal before Maharaja signal. So park your car in a suitable place and grab a seat on the first floor. This place is for authentic bengali meals. We started with Fish Fry (bhetki fillet crumb fried), followed by White Rice, Jhinge Alu Posto (Ridge gourd and potato cooked in rich poppyseed gravy), Cholar Dal (Bengal gram dal with coconut), Luchi (Bengali style white pooris), Mutton Kosha (Mutton in a dark gravy), and Nolen Gurer Icecream (Date palm flavoured icecream topped with date palm syrup). The fish fry was good but the crumb layer can be thinner. Mutton kosha was the ultimate, Food of the match, you can say. With Luchi it is a heavenly combination. Similarly Rice and JhingeAluPosto turned out to be a Yuvraj-Kaif partnership in Natwest final. The Dessert nolen gurer icecream was like a 15 ball half century by Dhoni. Smooth, enticing, soulful. Food was great but the cost I found on the higher side.

A couple of days ago I wanted to eat authentic Bengali style mutton (Goat, not sheep) (that sheep thing is a SCAM)

I called the restaurant before placing my order cause several times I have order for mutton and I received sheep. Then the person talking to me confirmed over phone it's goat meet. Once, i received my food, the experience was something I cannot write down in words. The food was awesome. Best Bengali experience in a long time... Made me feel like I am home. So thank you Koshe Kosha

I have been regularly visiting this restaurant as I love the food. Therefore choose them as our wedding day caterer. Pratap provided all his support with his team. He also arranged for guest food pre n post wedding days. I'm really happy with the food and service. Special thanks to Pratap for his prompt response on every request.

Tried this place for the first time, good Bengali fare. The Bhetki paturi was fab and so was the narkel cholar dal! It will really be helpful if they can mention the quantity on some orders as it was bit less for us. Good experience😀

It was overall a good place. Too much small because if you get late then u have to wait. Food is good not that up to the mark. I have enjoyed some dishes over there. Decor is very much simple and you will get the vibe of adi barir floor and then showpiece. Staff behaviour is nice. It’s nice place to have good ghorowa bengali food.

Today we visited koshe kosha Koramangala branch and had our lunch. As suggested by the person over there we should have taken mutton kasha but we took dhakai mutton which was not good at taste and also the mutton was not good quality. The chanar dalna was very good we loved it. Again planning to go to try more dishes

Visited on Diwali, and totally bowled out by the taste of all the dishes. Took prawn cutlet and fish kobiraji in starters. The prawn Cutlet is probably the best cutlets I have had yet. Fish kobiraji tasted amazing with a huge serving size. In main course tried Basanti Pulao with Prawn Malai Curry both of which were delicious. Also tried Bhetki Paturi, lovely it was. So was the Echor Kalia. Ambience was good and price is towards the higher range. Couple of suggestions, the servicing time can be improved and wish the place could be more spacious. Rest everything was amazing.

First of all I should mention the courticious staffs of this food joint..well behaved and polite staffs. Being a food lover I keep on trying different cusines whenever I get an opportunity. I would not hesitate to say that initially I had my own apprehension about this restaurant, but to my surprise my perception completely changed when I visited this place.i happened to visit koshe kosha for a lunch on a rainy day..we ordered mochar cutlet, am pora sarbat, -macher matha diyr mug Dal,steamed rice, bhetki paturi, mutton kosha Dhaka style, mango chutney.

one of the best mochar cutlet I have ever had in Bangalore in last 10 years.. very crisp on the outside and moist and full of flavours from inside..
Macher matha diye mug Dal was really up to the mark, a perfect blend of Bengali delicacy with very subtle spices. It's a 10/10 dish

Jhuri aloo bhaja was decent, could have been even more mouth watering if it was served hot! But I will give 7/10

Steamed rice- though they mentioned it's as basmati rice but I felt it was a normal long grain rice but perfectly cooked.so no complaints it's a 8/10

Mutton kosha Dhaka style - This dish was a perfect Bengali delicacy. The meat was succulent, very moist from inside and the spicy gravy with a flavour full mix of spices makes this as 10/10 dish .

Bhetki paturi- As compare to the price this dish was little below average. The mustard paste was punjant and not that creamy.Fillet of bhetki was not marinated properly. It was a 6/10 dish

Mango chutney - this was just bang on..after a nice meal this refreshing chutney is a bliss on your palate..which pops up all the amazing flavours in your mouth .a perfect 10/10 dish.

What should I start with.... Lipsmacking bong food to binge in and staff service is prompt and courteous..... Starting with fish fry -so crunchy outside and so much juicy and fishy inside😘, then comes basanti polao the smell and taste and so light, not very oily yet tasty enhanced by kashew and kismis is really awesome to have up specially if you team that up with mutton kosha, chingrir malai curry left me fascinated, the first bite of prawn and the gravy in your mouth, so yumm and so light not very spicy is the best dish I felt. I am very much satisfied and did my pet pujo well in this place and lastly happy pujo to all and to the koshe kosha, keep up the good work and make the taste buds happy😄

Got myself a takeaway dinner order... mutton kosha, prawn cutlet, chicken cutlet, mutton pulao n 3 rotis. A good meal. All dishes to the point, the cutlets are yum. The kosha mutton gave a smell of the gravy being predominantly liver paste. Or maybe it's the mustard oil used. Pricing seems a tad high for the kosha but it's ok.
Next eve tried the dhakai mutton too. Spicy n flavourful.
Good neat place n decent food. Parking is a hassle, climb 2 flights of stairs. Go try.

The food was undoubtedly great, but keeping in mind the price range, the quantity should be more. It was served hot and fresh. No issues with that, but the quantity was too less. It was just sufficient for one person. Just sufficient.

Any Bengali outside Bengal would crave for the authentic Bengali food. And this place is the saviour. We ordered fish kabiraji, plain rice, sorshe ilish, chingri malaikari, alu bhaja and sukto. The taste was very good as well as the portions. The chingri malaikari had the best taste. It is a highly recommended place for all people who wants to taste the authentic flavours of Bengal.

When its raining outside and the Bengali inside you cries for some "gorom khichudi", Koshe Kosha can be your angel in disguise! Though its not a part of their menu, the courteous staff of Koshe Kosha agreed to our demand and prepared Khichudi for us. All they wanted was a half day's prior notice and that was it! The Khichudi, full of vegetables and much needed "aalu", was delicious and reminded me of pujo'r bhog back in Kolkata. Also, we had ordered Pur dewa Begun Bhaja. Needless to say, the two pieces of brinjal with a mustard paste spread in between and deep fried in mustard oil after being coated in gram flour and poppy seeds, was equally mouth-watering. It was just a perfect match for the khichudi! A big thumbs up to the team and would love to see this in their regular menu soon!

Koshe Kosha is a Bengali restaurant and serves a variety of food items. I had visited this restaurant twice to have their exotic Ilish preparations. I really liked their Ilish Bhapa and Ilish Sorshe with rice. Begun Bhaja and sides are also delicious. I have also tried their Mutton Kosha which is above average.
Service is slow and it's always crowded there specially on weekends.

Heavenly place if you are a bong and have a natural craving for Bengali cuisines. An excellent blend of quality and quantity. We had ordered sada bhaat, murir daal, jhuri aloo bhaja, basanti polao, kosha mangsho ,luchi, aloo posto. Needless to say all were exceptional in taste and satiated the taste buds to there max. Be it the amount of ghee in polao to the tenderness of mutton to the crispiness of aloo bhaja, everything seemed perfectly sorted. Decor wise also it gave an old heritage touch of old Calcutta. All in all a wonderful experience.

I been to this restaurant twice now. It’s almost 30 kms from my home but I don’t mind traversing the distance because of the quality of food served here.

To begin with, the restaurant interior is not that great and ambience is just about fine. If you are a keen follower of ambience and interiors then you might not like it that much when you compare this restaurant with Esplanade or Oh Calcutta, but if you are a foodie then you are not going to regret visiting here. The food tastes just amazing !! Kosha Mangshow is just the best that I have ate in any restaurant so far in Bangalore. The service is decent at the tables as well.

Overall I would recommend to visit this restaurant if you are reading this review to decide whether this Bengali restaurant deserves your time and money.

Please note that you might want to pre-book your slot at the restaurant before visiting there especially on the weekends.

For Bengalis food is life. We live for food. We always crave for good food. And being a Bengali staying in a different city makes it more prominent.
We went for having a nice Bengali dinner to koshe kosha.
We had a lot of things. All of them were really lip smacking. The showstopper was the Masala chingri. Special mention to pomfret vapaa and anarasher chatni.

It was a nice dinner and a lovely evening for us.

Thinking of Bengali cuisine then koshe kosha will be the restaurant who serves scrumptious food but pocket friendly.
We ordered the iconic dishes. Being Bengali by heart had to order fish kobiraji ( fish and chips voted with fried eggs) a bit oily but worth the taste.
We ordered gondhoraj chicken and dhakai mansho along with the basonti pulao and ghee rice. In the dessert the daab ice cream was just perfectly complimented with the food we had. A perfect balance of sweetness made it ambrosial.

Its a Bengali's delight to find Bengali delicacies outside Bengal. This restaurant is famous in Kolkata with multiple branches there. In Bangalore they have one eat-&-dine outlet. Staff and chefs are all Bengalis. Mostly Bengali residents of Bangalore visit this place. They have less orders per day hence cooking is delayed by about 30 minutes after placing the order. All the fish items are not always available, considering Bangalore does not have a fluent sourcing of fish as Kolkata.
I ordered:
🔹Basmati rice
🔹Muro diye muger dal
🔹Mangshor jhol
🔹Bhetki paturi
🔹Jhuro aloo bhaja
🔹Nolen gurer ice cream (from Bancharam, Kolkata)
Food was great, loved them all. The potato with the mutton could have been boiled more. They are doing a great job serving hungry Bengalis away from home!

Koshe Kosha was on my waitlist for a long time since it has opened it's branch in Bangalore. On the occasion of Holi this year I got a chance to visit this restaurant for lunch. The ambience of the restaurant gave you the impressions of being in a Bengali restaurant with Rabindra Sangeetha tunes in the background and Bengali books spread kept on the rack.
The menu had a wonderful confluence of the best of East and West Bengal dishes. Starting from chingri (prawns) to Ilish (Hilsa) to mutton to murgir jhol (chicken curry) to luchi (puffed and deep fried flat bread) to basanti pulao (yellow colored sweet pilaf), everything is available for you to order.
We started our lunch with Aam pora Sharbat (Raw mango sherbet), bhetki fry and mutton Anglo kham. Mutton Anglo kham was a new thing for me to try and I absolutely liked it. The spicy juicy minced mutton wrapped in a deep fried pancake will just melt in your mouth and you definitely look forward to have another one.

The main course had basanti pulao, dhakai mangsho (mutton cooked in Dhaka style) and kosha mangsho (a staple bengali style tender mutton in dark gravy). All of the three dishes were best in the preparation and taste.

A Bengali will never end their meal without dessert. So we had ordered the all time famous nolen gurer ice cream (ice cream made from new jaggery).

Overall the ambience, food and the affordable prices would make you come back once more to this place to not let you miss your homely delicacies.

It's one of popular place in Bangalore where one can get most authentic Bengali food. We went there for lunch and ordered Aam Pora Sorbet, Mochar Chop, Basanti Pulav, Doi Pona, Chicken Kosha and Enchorer Dalna. I loved all the items except the Doi Pona. Doi Pona was a bit on the sweeter side. I personally don't like non veg on sweeter side. Otherwise all the other things were good. They have very limited option for dessert and their Nolen gurer ice cream was not available. Hence, we could not order any dessert. Portion of one item is enough for sharing between two people. Staffs we're polite but we had to wait longer for our food. The taste of food justified it. Also there was some technical issues so air conditioning was not working. So the ambience was a bit hot. Overall this place is good to satisfy Bengali Taste buds.

This branch located in Koramangala is accessible for people who want to delve into Bengali cuisine. It offers almost all sorts of authentic Bengali food. The Non-veg and Veg Thali is worth it's cost. Recommendation- Only order if you are hungry enough to finish up all the 7 items in the Thali meal. Else, you might end up wasting the food or pack the remaining amount and takeaway. About the parking facility, as a result of construction work going on by the road side, it is very difficult to park a vehicle beside the restaurant. So, plan your day for one of the best Bengali cuisine restaurant.

The only branch of this Kolkata based food chain in Bangalore. In a hectic friday, after surviving a stress riden week in office I visited this place. Ordered some bengali food and the quality time I spent there is unmatched. The ambience is great there, they play Bengali songs in the place, sometimes of Tagore, sometimes of Bengali films sometimes golden oldies or Bengali Rock music. Service and decoration is very good. Food quality is excellent, it is must to visit for Bengali food lovers. The best attraction of this place is Mishti Doi aka Sweet Curd, you would just want to order some Bundiya aka Bonde(although they dont serve that sadly 😶) and then to savour Bonde in Mishti Doi like Tenida. Hope you can relate to the strictly Bengali connection here 😉
