A South Indian eatery that has a limited menu. The service was quick and the place was hygienic. We ordered masala dosa, ghee toast masala dosa and vada.
The dosas were good but the vada was cold.
We went there last weekend for breakfast. It was really nice. We tasted masala dosa, butter dosa, butter masala, idly, vada and filter coffee. All were good and pocket friendly. We decided to there once in a month.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Delivery
1. Khara Bath - A light savoury made of semonilla. It has taste of majorly tomato bits, chilly pieces and softness derived from semonilla. The quality of ingredients is good.
Rating - 4/5
2. Set Dosa - It was soft and we'll prepared. The quality of oil used could be improved.
Rating -3.5/5
3. Sambhar - It tastes more like daal with major taste of onion.
Rating - 3.5/5
4. Chutney as accompaniment - It has rich taste of coconut and mild taste of dhaniya. Unlike the chutneys served in other South Indian eateries, the one here is not spicy.
Rating -3.5/5
****Recommendations to the restaurant******
1. Avoid non-biodegradables like plastic, styrofoam. They are killing our earth.
2. Improve the quality of oil.
I had a rava idli from this place. It was great. The idli was spongy, the chutney and sagu were great. They were generous with ghee. I would love to go again.
You get the best South Indian tiffin here. Idli Vada, where Vada comes always crispy. Chutney is good as always. I have never been to this place, but always ordered. Pongal is also awesome. Masala Dosa is good. And kara bath spicy.
Extremely hygienic food. Cleanliness is a top priority here. You get range of South India dish here with a proper seating capacity although without AC. Must have are dosa and idly. Even akki roti is really good.
Nice place for breakfast.. liked their masala dosa,Vada, plain dosa and khara Baath..their shavige Baath and coffee were ok.. nothing special.. might order in on a lazy Sunday morning again 😊
A small place with 20-25 sitting capacity.
The rates are genuine and the food quality is good.
Had mini meal, curd rice, idli, gulab jamun and kerela parantha.
Best was the paranthas which were of like lacha parantha and had a lot of lachas.
Idli was soft and tasty.
Mini meal had a good quantity for one person.
Curd rice were freshly prepared
Only gulab jamun didn’t tasted that well as they were cold
Overall a nice experience
This is a decent South Indian place which can be best described as an in between of a Darshini and a Sit down restaurant. Although there is ample seating, the service is quick as Darshini. After having visited this place quite a few times, I can confidently say that It is best if one sticks on to South Indian items. Idli Chutney is really good and Dosas are quite nice too. It is best to refrain from chaats here. Speaking purely out of experience, my taste buds have gone to a toss every time I have eaten a chaat. But, overall a good place to have a quick bite. Oh and it helps to know that this place is a subsidiary of Brahmins Cafe. So I do recommend this place and would surely go back.

Been to this place tons of times.
Chutney dipped idly and the well done Vadas are my favorite there.
Be prepared for a little of waiting, esp on weekends.
If you are looking for a efficient place with good hygiene, service & taste , this place is good . It has a bloodline relationship with the Brahmins cafe Basavanagudi & they do not disappoint at all . All items are good .😊
Good restaurant near Hulimavu and Arekere. We have tried breakfast items most of the time, never got disappointed. Even evening snacks are good, specially Girmit☺ I recommend this place.
I am a regular at this place. The food here is tasty, decent and hygienic. Chutney tastes awesome so does the thatte idli. Neer dosa can be better (being a Mangalorean, I do have strong opinion when it comes to Neer Dosa 😊)
I’d say this is one of the best breakfast places in the area. A must visit.
Good quality vegetarian spread. Its speciality on idli chutney with butter is must try. They have ensured their legacy is continued. I wish they open in HSR layout.
I have food from here atleast once in 2 weeks and the quality is the same every single time. Rava dosa, ghee roast dosa and kesari bhath are highly recommended items.
It remains quite busy on mornings and you may have to wait to get a table. Very hygienic environment and speedy service.
Would give a 3.5. One of those small eateries , low prices, seating is un-uniform. Food above average . Decent number of hungry folks around. Idli dip and vada dip seems to be the popular dish here !
simple and delicious that's how all their dishes are.
food tastes bit different when you have it at the restaurant. not sure, if it's packing that changes the taste.
Awesome South Indian snacks and tempting Chatni.... Packing is very professional and spill free... For sure Worth giving a try
The restaurant has by far the most consistently good food.
Amazed!! Just felt like home food .. Appreciate the reasonable price also....I have been using online food portals from a while ( it's been a long time indeed) . I have found "Ingu Tengu" can serve stomach full of food with heart full of happiness in a mouth watering price !!!

Very tasty food, delivered properly & timely.
Very clean & neat.
We usually have the typical iddli, vada, dosa etc. All very yummy.
Poori & saagu is also very tasty.
Very crowded on weekend mornings.
The regular customers are seen ordering there takeout items and most of them get their own containers from home for the idli, vada, sambar, chuttney etc. 👍👍👍
Not a big fan of the chat items though.
One of my favourite places to eat fresh, yummy, ghee dripping dosas. They have fixed timings in the morning to serve the same and I absolutely love their masala and rava dosas.
For the price you pay, the quality and quantity is worth it. Their take away packaging is leak proof and hygienic. Also, you can have your meal at the restaurant as well considering ample of seating area provided.
All in all , a pretty good place to have dosas from.only complaint is with their sambhar quality. Very liquidy and you can only taste garam masala in it. If they can improve it then this will be the bang on place for dosas and idlis for me.
That’s it for Ingu Tengu, cheers!
A small compact hygienic place to have great breakfast. Simple and tasty South Indian dishes. Quite a good variety. The flavor of hing is quite prominent in the dishes which lends it a unique taste.
Quick service and hot dishes made to order. The menu of the day is usually put up on the board which makes it easier to decide.
Akki roti and gulab jamun are especially must tries here. The dosas are also worth a mention.
I just love this place. Weekend it's almost fixed for me to have breakfast or take parcel. Dosa and other items really well and they maintain hygiene too. Which is the most factor for me. Coffee you have to try along with their special chutney with idlis.
Firstly zomato’s rating of 3.5 is highly underrated for this place. Coming from the part of bangalore where the age old favourites vidyarthi Bhavan and brahmins coffee bar is located, I was taken by surprise when my husband introduced me to this place in Bannerghatta road. Its now our regular and second home kinda place.
Sambhar is authentic. Their butter masala dosa is mouth watering and yummy!
For all those people who want to try authentic Karnataka style masala dosas, bisibelebath, puliyogre and more, head to this place!
I loved the freshness of their or food.
Simple and delicious. I love the Masala Dosa, Kesari Bath. It's my all time favourite.
The Curd Vada is worth a try.
A must visit for a weekend breakfast.
Looking forward to a tasty journey ahead.

Great place for South Indian delicacies. Great chutney as they have some legacy of Brahmin’s coffeee Bar. Dose and Idly Vada was very good as well. A little on the expensive side, but quality makes up for it
I mostly have all great stuff to talk about. Going in chronological order (best to least recommendations)
Chai
Coffee
Idli chutney
Dahi puri
Pao bhaji
Misal pao
Set dosa
Akki roti
Samosa chat
Pani puri
Medu wada (provided its hot)
Bhelpuri
Fantastic joint for South Indian food .. Akki roti is a must try for this place. Dosas are good, Upma is better. Staff is very humble and courteous. Full FIVE STARS....
Simple!
Hygienic!
Tasty!
A friendly owner, good attentive staff and good wholesome food! The dosas and khara bhath have to be the highlights. The idlis also deserve a special mention. The coffee will remind you that you're in South India and leave a happy feeling on your palette.
Definitely deserves repeat patronage since it's dependable and clean.
I must confess that the portions may seem small with respect to some dishes. Perhaps the only reason why I would give the place a 4 rating.
Bonapettite!!
It is one of place where you can blindly feel that you are having safe food as nothing is compromised for taste. Everything is authentic flavour. Good old bangalore taste along with high importance for cleanliness. I make sure to come here and have food along with family and feel rest assured about the quality.
Food is so hygienic and tastier. But limited in selection of foodstuffs. Regularly visit alone and also with family. On weekends quite rush.
One of the best Udupi food in Bangalore. Authenticity and perfect balance in taste. Simple clean ambience. I would recommend try masala dosa, idli, Wada and chow chow bath. All of them were just awesome.I hope they maintain the taste when they grow.
A decent place for breakfast or for evening snacks. Though the management tries to keep the same kind of service quality, I guess a couple of staffs are pulling the effort down with their negative attitude which obviously doesn't help any F&B outlet.
I have a regular since its launch and shall continue to visit.
Taste food. And good quality all ways . They serve authentic Indian food . To be specific it's udpi style food. No Chinese and all . Try lunch here in noon.
Been here numerous times and a regular. Love the dosas and the idli here. I stop by on my way to work for a quick bite and also the restaurant is highly hygienic and well maintained. The staff and the owner are very friendly and the keep changing their menus bringing in local new recipes.
The food served here healthy and delicious at the same time. The Idli served here is the best ever. It's got the perfect texture, softness, and taste. And their chutney is mind blowing. You could eat just about anything with their chutney. Apart from this, 90 percent of the food served here is amazing. The ambience is pretty good and the place is hygienic and we'll maintained. They treat customers very well. Their service is also quite good, at times it can get a bit slow. They also serve amazing coffee here. Although, I do feel that some food quantity is seemingly less, this place is one of the best food places ever. I am regular at this place. Do check it out.
Good south indian restaurant and it is clean. But i find few items are overpriced. Has lots of south indian items in menu n menu keeps changing.
Has few seating also buy no table service. I must say place is very cleanly maintained
Awesome hotel for evening food..Nice and hygiene place.Dosa and idli are yummy..
Reasonable rate and best south Indian menu.................
The finest hotel in the locality. They serve hygiene and tasty food. The crew members are very humble and helpful. The idli dipped in chutney which they recommend to taste is a real enjoyment for foodies. The price is also reasonable. Do not forget to visit this hotel when you are here or if you are anywhere nearby.
Were skeptical ordering from them but surprisingly it tasted ok..sambar could have been better but tats ok..should deliver tea as well to make a complete breakfast
We were just blown away when we got to know that this is legacy from the legendary Bramhin's coffee bar! And that too at a distance of less than 2 km!!! We were super happy and all the dishes were as expected tasty, healthy, homely! We tried almost everything except a couple of dishes like Curd vada etc. The open butter masala dosa was the winner, however all other dishes were delicious too. They have meals too, so that's on my wish-list now.
Their awareness towards saving environment by asking customers to get their own containers for take away and avoiding wastage of food by serving sambar only on demand with dosa was impressive.
I will be a regular customer of this place. That says it all, I guess! ;)
If u like South Indian food then must visit place ... they tell it's some how linked to legendary Brahmins cafe and they follow same recipes that were first served only at Brahmins coffee bar
An independent venture by the brother of Vasudev Adiga. It's a simple South Indian food joint with really tasty food. The staff is really friendly. The prices are reasonable and the menu keeps varying. It's the best place to walk up to fit breakfast early on a cold morning in this area.
This is my third visit to Ingu Tengu, a nice place in the neighborhood of Bannerghetta road. A decent clean place with fresh south Indian food. One added feature is also a good off street parking nearby. Do not forget to finish off your breakfast with a hot glass of coffee.
Restaurant is no doubt good, hygeinic, tasty value for money - but when you have published your mobile number, pls answer the calls - every customer is important & there is no reply for our calls - pls call back URGENT 9845272710 BALAJI
Located in a place where in and around u cant find any other veg restaurant. Well maintained and its self service. Tried forst time akki roti, its gud nd i like it. Pice wise its reasonable hunt but u won't b povided sambar Until asked nd i cant have dosa without sambar. Tried many items nd all of them was upto mark. U can try any restaurant in banglore u won't b disappointed. This is wat i like abt banglore if u r foodie this is a right place for uu just need to hunt the place.
Changed my flat and this place is near to my home now. So I visited it a couple of days back in search for good dinner. Masala Dosa was good and other eateries. Nothing special. However, I've never had an Akki Roti before, so I tried it here and it was great too.
Being a foodie, I recently visited this place for B.fast. Surprisingly, this place turned out to be my fav place. We ordered Masala Dosa, Idly and Vada. The food looked fresh and tasted good. Plus the looks clean and hygienic, with decent crowd. Not too heavy on pocket so I recommend this place if you stay near by.

The first to come up on the Sai Baba Temple road. Initially was very good with tadty and quality but we see saturations of both these days.
Pros.
1. Decent food.
2. Variations in menu.
3. Easily accessible and fast service.
4. Clean and Hygienic.
Cons.
1. Taste gets bad sometimes.
Though they are branch of the legendary Brahmin's.... but yes, it is completely different in all aspects, on a good side though. Place is clean and hygienic. Food is tasty. Idly and vada size is small comparing to Brahmin's. Bonda soup rocks. They don't have DOSA items through out the day. These are not available during lunch time to early evening. Chutney also tastes good. They serve aloo paratha as well during some part of the day.
Very good place to have veg food. I love the idli dipped in sambar and akki rotti. Our Sunday breakfast most of the time in this place. Clean and neat atmosphere.
One of my default place to go. The place is simple and serves good food. Must try from this place are Akki Roti, Idli Chutney, Bonda Soup. They have focused on quality of food, hygeine and simplicity.
It serves one of the best idlis ....soft, textured with dollops of butter....steaming hot idlis melt in your mouth.....clean, hygienic and total value for money....best place to grab good and quick south indian breakfast
This restaurant is run by the same people who run 'Brahmins coffee bar'.
Quaility of food is good.
We always order Idli with butter and chutney, its totally yummy.
Pongal with the tamarind side is very good.
All dosa items are good.
I like the coffee here, its a mini coffee and works for me.
Make sure you are prepare to stand and eat, as there is very few tables to sit and most of the time its occupied.
This isn't a place for anyone to sit and chat, the idea is simple- come, eat and go.
We are regular visitors here, the staff is very very courteous and helpful.
Tempted by Tanya Nayak's review did try the place recently and here is what my take.
Being little conservative considering my overall experience mainly on food I am giving 4 for this place.
Looks like this place is yet to get it's deserved attention and crowd, for an evening snack the place was quite empty and slowly picking the footfalls, though good for foodies who can enjoy their food better.
The place is quite neat and very hygienic, somewhere competing with Taza thindi of Jayanagar 9th block, but not there yet. 4/5
Spoons were well dipped in boiling water, counter was very clean and staff appearing professionally in their outfit.
Now proceeding to the food part.
Started with Idli vada.
Idlis – 5/5 Super soft and felt no compromise on batter, the sambar and chutney were delicious. I think this is a winner item here.
Vada – 2/5 Some odd oil smell was very evident and was not crisp.
Impressed with the Taste and quality of food thought why not explore other items.
Akki rotti – 5/5 This was very tasty though was little higher on the salt, the quality and taste of the Akki Rotti with a spoon of butter greased on it was topnotch, this exceeded the expectation so full marks. It went well along with Chutney and Sambar.
Masaladosa - 4/5 Tasted good with chutney and sambar, one mark less for using dry chutney powder smeared inside dosa instead of the typical red chutney. Aloo palya was good enough though no value additions such as cashews, but for 35 Rs (they had a board of slashed prices) it's quite fine.
Bonda soup – 3/5 Though the Bonda was crispy and tasting good, the soup was a let down without adequate daal or right seasoning, though it was totally different tasting from typical soup, cost cutting was evident, also being high on salt (both bonda and soup) ruined the taste buds.
Curd rice – 2/5 It is very difficult to spoil this item, but they managed it, it was bitter in taste probably due to insufficient salt, absolutely no value additions such as pomegranate, grapes or cashews, the pickle served along was mediocre at best.
Chapati Sagu – 1/5 A total let down, I could clearly feel it was some reheated ready to eat machine made chapati and was just warm, rubbery and soggy. The Sagu was clearly a compromise to cut costs, it tasted like sambar without red chillies.
The staff were well mannered and courteous, so was the aged person taking care of the cash counter, probably the owner I feel, he was quite friendly and explaining about the items availability during other days of the week when I asked for Neer dosa and Rava Idli. So you will need to visit couple of times to cover all the items on their offering list :-)
Will I go here again ?, definitely and may coax them to improve on their chapati, sagu and red chutney part. If they do it I don't see any reason to abstain from increasing my critique rating to 5 ;-)
Probably they are facing pricing pressure due to inadequate footfalls and nearby competition, so are unable decide whether they want to be in volume/value segment or uncompromising taste/quality offering, I could see big hoarding in front of the hotel of slashed prices, the new prices are very pocket friendly.
This definitely has the potential of becoming as famous as their own Brahmin's Coffee bar of Basavanagudi.
This is another branch of the famous "Brahmin's Coffee bar"(as shown in the pictures). This is bigger & has more variety. It's really nice. They have very fast service and they also parcel food neatly.
I have had:
*Masala dosa- It's super yum(I'll upload a picture next time I go there).
*Rava Masala dosa- It's good & big but I felt it too much turmeric powder coating on the inside of the dosa.
*Set dosa- Omg. They give 3 of those which are the size of a palm. It wasn't perfect round in shape either. It was weird & it tasted OK OK.
*Poori- Here they give 3 instead the usual 2. It was good.
*Idly- They have an option of chutney dipped or separately served. It's superb!!
*Vada- Same as idly they have an option of sambhar dipped or separately served. Their sambhar is top notch. This two combination is very delicious.
*Coffee/hot Badam milk- Both are good.
This is my favorite go to place for South Indian breakfast. The idlis and dosas are always very fresh. I love their coffee as well...I am there for breakfasts on almost all weekends.
Another long wait listed food joint is done this morning.
You can actually feel and taste their philosophy right there. Fast n smooth billing and great food. Little longer wait at counter as big line of online delivery folks (can't complain as it's a very popular restaurant).
Authentic south taste. Coffee was great as well.
Overall simple, clean, hygienic and tasty food.
Loved it.
Neat and hygienic place for a quick meal. I have tried their open butter masala Dosa , Kerala Porotta and aloo tokri Chaat. I would really recommend their Aloo tokri Chaat as it was first time that I've eaten it and it was good. Tea portion is too small and the quality could be improved.
Wanna have a quick-bite ? This is a good place to get fast food. It is preferable to opt for south Indian dishes, as north Indian dishes do not taste that good. Chats are also available as well. Overall it's a place to visit.
We are regular to Ingu Tengu in Arakere for breakfast and quick-eats. Amazing food with value for money. There is a usual wait of 5 to 10 mins but the food is definitely worth the wait. Sometimes, there is a little longer wait at the counter as there is a big line of online delivery folks (can't complain as it's a very popular restaurant). It is a self-service restaurant which serves authentic South Indian food. They serve consistent healthy, tasty and hygienic food. Make sure you try their varieties of dosas, fluffy, steamed idlis with chutney. When you are collecting your food, make sure to ask for extra chutney as you will end up eating it all (they serve you extra without any hesitation). Some of the crowd favourites are the Masala dosa, Butter Masala dosa, Ghee roast Masala dosa and their soft idlis with vada. Overall, one of the best places to go with family for breakfast and quick-eats. Meals are available for lunch and Chaats are also available in the evening.
My Report Card -
Taste - 9/10
Value for Money - 9/10
Hygiene - 10/10
Will I go back - Definitely and very soon
#LocalGuide #InguTengu #QuickBites #LocalFood
This is traditional restaurant. But too spicy.we loved katori chat.ckean n neat everywhere. Its inninnkain road.
Comes from the lineage of the famous Brahmin's coffee bar, this joint dishes out some tasty udupi fare, u can even get your idlies and vadas dunked in chutney like the Brahmin's/ Veena stores way
Butter dosa was good, would've preferred the chutney instead of the powder though
Ingu Tengu is located on the Bannerghatta road in Bangalore... Ingu Tengu is an authentic south indian restaurant which has great variety of South Indian items... Ingu Tengu serves idly, varieties of dosa like plain dosa, masala dosa, rava dosa, carrot dosa etc etc... The sambar served at ingu Tengu is just out of world... Filter coffee is something which cannot be missed... It has nice sit out place... Lot of chat items are served during evenings...
Good authentic south indian food...
I tried akki roti n bonda was very good...
I can see full crowd every day, especially on Sunday n saturday it will be heavy for having food n take away.
Enjoy nice chai n coffee.
Recently they started chats also.
inherit the legacy of the Bengaluru's most popular eat out, Brahmins Coffee Bar, Shankaraouram. Our Idlis and Dosas are a treat to your taste buds and you can be very assured of your health and your loved ones as we use RO water in all preparations including for steaming idlis.
Awesome south Indian food joint. Specialized in Lemon Rice, Puliogere, idli chutney dip and soo on..list is long.
Happy munching 🤟
Amazingggg Idly Vada. Chuttny is something I really liked. Tea is like any other stalls. Very reasonable price.
Visited for a short / light dinner around 745pm. Place wasn't crowded but enough people. There are about 4 to 5 table-chairs, a granite top counter table for sitting. Food is served quickly and is fresh. This is not a place to hang around like a cafe coffee day joint.. nice place to have a quick and tasty bite.
Tasty and aunthetic food....Good place to sit and eat....
Good selection of south Indian tiffin items and Chaat items. Tasty and fresh food. Quick self service. Can accommodate 20-25 persons. Reasonably priced. Plan to order two dishes if hungry. Parking is on the road, but not a problem. No restroom.
This is a very good quick meal place. You can get almost anything South Indian here for a decent price. The food service is quick and fast and made to order. Refills of sambar are also available for free. Also attached there is a Chaat place which is quite good but can be a bit expensive. This place does charge extra for parcel of items which is the only downfall ultimately.
