Visited this place last week with a bunch of friends for lunch. The ambience of this place is old & rustic.
We had couple of vegetarian starters and out of all I liked the himachali tandoori mushroom. Tasted really well.
The ulte tawa ke parathe went well with paneer lababdar & Dal makhni .The tandoori anans served with vanilla ice cream was quite good.
Overall it was a decent experience at Umerkot

Umerkot has been around for a long time and primarily serves food from the Sindh District, and is close to North Indian Food. It is a large place with comfortable seating, and the low hum of music allows you to carry on a conversations with ease.
The food, while not being extraordinary is pleasant enough, and the reasonable pricing makes it a good deal overall. More on the food later.

I had been to Umerkot for lunch on a weekend, the place is quite old and is run by Chef Sanjay Tyagi.
The ambience is very subtle and the music is very soft. Mostly instrumental tracks. Good place to take family out for dinner or lunch as the seating is comfortable and you can have a good conversation here.
For starters we tried out quite a few Vegetarian options and the best was the Tandoori broccoli. Himachali tandoori mushroom was nice too. Aloo chaat was presented really well.
For maincourse we had the Paneer Lababdar and Dal makhni, accompanied with the Ulte Tawe ka Paratha and Jodhpuri Paratha. Ulte tawe ka paratha was slightly on a sweeter note which I liked. One of us tried the Naan too and it was very soft.
The dessert was different, Tandoori Ananas (Grilled Pineapple) served with Vanilla Ice cream which was topped with dry fruits. One of a kind and yummy!
Over all it was a comfort meal and I relished it.

Umerkot is one of the best dining restaurants in Koramanagala or may be in whole Bangalore.

Went with office colleagues and the Director of engineering UBER, total approximately 25 people. With so many people it's quite difficult to judge the quality of restaurant, but I must say they managed well. Ordered probably everything, out of which I don't remember most of the things, but overall taste was good specially the veg dishes were awesome. Some other day maybe with lesser people would be better.
Awesome tasty food you will defiantly love it. Nice environment and good service. Mughlai dishes are very tasty . Only prawn preparation is little average.
Be sure to go there with a good appetite!

The seating arrangements and cultery is amazing. Service is prompt, responsive and efficient.
The food, most importantly, is out of the world.
Try kebabs recommended by the chef, indulge in the mix of spices. Don't focus much on the main course, as it is not extraordinary. But the kebabs are.
Have the Shahi tukda, the Oreo chena cake, the gulab jamuns. Let them melt in your mouth. I repeat.
This place has lived up to my expectations. And hence the full score.
We went here around 10.30PM and the staff welcomed us with a beautiful smile and served us efficiently. Food is delicious. We had only veg food. Starters to the main course all dishes were Yummy. It is value for money restaurant.

Umerkot deserves a mention whenever north indian/punjabi/tandoori cuisine is spoken about in this city.
A vastly underrated place where you will be treated to some of the best food money can buy. I usually benchmark a Indian food joints based on two parameters a) The quality of Paneer and b) the quality of Dal Makhani.
The paneer is amongst the freshest and softest that you will experience. In fact, it is comparable to what you get in Delhi. The starters we ordered a) paneer firdausi: was simply superb and quite complex. The layer of paneer coating the minced vegetables was extremely well-charred giving it a wonderful smoky flavour complemented brilliantly by the mixture of vegetables and traditional spices.
The lahori paneer tikka too had the right blend of spices and was marinated to perfection.
What I have often observed and experienced across many restaurants in the generous use of two Indian spices: cinnamon and cardamom. More often than not the flavour of the entire dish is dominated by these two spices simply because they are overused. Umerkot gets this right. Wherever required, both these spices are used to perfection.
Now for my favourite part of the meal Dal Makhani. I'm brutally unforgiving when it comes to Dal Makhani. Very few places get it right. Some have too much cream, some are made with excess tomatoes, some, some where the Dal is not cooked long enough, some have an overpowering aroma and taste of cinnamon etc etc. Umerkot gets full marks for their Dal Makhani. It isn't uber rich. The actual flavour of the dal is not lost in the newly of cream, butter, ghee, tomatoes and ginger garlic. And they don't use cinnamon. Phew!! Big relief.
Take a piece of their perfectly made rumali roti up some dal and an eyes wide shut reaction is guaranteed.
My meal was not paid for by the restaurant. I went in as a regular customer. You should visit this place and interact with Chef Sanjay Tyagi for a culinary experience par excellence.
Ambience was nice, except where they put up some tent kind of thing. Had Buffet for Lunch and everything was nice except the part where they served fruits cut from Knife that chopped onions which carried a vivid odour that ruined the dessert

We happen to be here for a family lunch...It has a very simple but elegant ambience...Great food...The quality of food was excellent...It is little expensive as compared to other restaurants of the same kind which serve Mughalai food.... Anyway but that didn't bother me much...The veg and non veg both are very good...

We visited this place on Saturday night to celebrate a friend's anniversary. Not very impressive ambiance but the food totally surprised us.
We ordered Tandoori Murg for starter and for main course, we ordered, Bhuna Murg Sirka Pyaz, Makhni Naan and Murg Zafrani Biryani. Tandoor Murg was one of the best Tandoori Items that I have ever had in any of the restaurants. Grilled to the perfection and then coated with tantalizing marinade / masala. Bhuna Murg Sirka Pyaz was again a good dish, chicken was perfectly cooked and very tender, One Naan was good enough to be shared between two individuals and Murg Zafrani Biryani was like the cherry on the cake - with aromatic flavours and delicious blend of very subtle spices.
We were served some complimentary Dahi vada - which we couldn't taste as both Hubby & I, do not like curd.
Suggestion : Volume for the music can be mellowed down a little and the playlist can be changed to something which is more sufi, melodious that can go along with the interiors of the restaurant.
Will definitely recommend this place to my friends and followers!
If there is one place in Bangalore for consistency in the quality of north Indian food its Umerkot . Have been coming to this place for 9 years now.

Must have in this place is Nalli gosht afghani. Nihari gosht. Paneer lababdar. Bhuna murg shirka piyaz. Rawnak e sheek and I like the biriyanis of this place only.
it still is very popular. We enjoyed our Dal makhani and naan. You must order from their tandoor starters. Food, service and hospitality is good.

Great place, right on the main road with great food. The starters & deserts are simply amazing. The portion size can be increased slightly is something which can be considered by the management. Must go to place & highly recommended.
The royal look and the grand decor of this place makes it look elegant. But the food was just average in terms of taste. A little expensive. Service was good.

A nice place to eat with a grand decor and extremely spacious... They have a wide variety of North Indian cuisine.. However I expected the Nalli Afgani to be better...But the Rashmi Kebab... Biriyani was great!!! The food I wouldn't say was very delicious nither too bad... The service is good...Overall a joyful experience:)
Perched in the middle of plush green trees in the lane of Koramangala 4th block, right after Wipro signal on the way towards Sony signal, opposite to Dominoz. The place seems small but has a simple and elegant decor and spacious layout for a family or a group gathering.
I really like the food here!! Have tried the Butter chicken, Subz seekh kebab, Paneer lababdar, Amritsari macchi tikka, Dal punjabi tadkewali and all were really good. Definetely visiting again for the good north indian delicacies and hospitality.
They have a valet parking so no worries on finding a space.

It's a decent restaurant with North Indian cuisine and till few years back was quite popular for non veg varieties however it seems to have lost its charm now or been forgotten with splurge of new restaurants in the same area..we visited this place few weekends back and the place was almost empty with just one table full..it wasn't a planned visit for us as well and we were not sure if we should stay or leave..but were tired of shopping and decided to eat there itself..the food actually tasted fine and vegetarian seemed to be better than non veg dishes..we had a veg starter of corn n cheese n it was really very heavy and cheesy..chicken afghani tikka was good too..but in maincourse Khade masale Ka paneer was excellent whereas Nihari gosht was average..staff was courteous n service was good..I think it's a place to be given a chance n tried out..

I have Always liked this place and it has never disappointed me. Food is just awesome. Descent servers. Joyful ambience.They had to just work on with keeping some more options for soup and desserts which i heard they are doing that very soon.

This is one of those exquisite restaurants that not only. excel in ambience and decor but also in creating a unique menu of dishes to tantalize the foodie. The mango Lassi is pure delight and a. must have in this place. The starters are also very yummy and cooked to perfection. The simplest dal fry with steamed rice was also made so yummy. Another fine eatery for north indian cuisine in koramangala, Umerkot is a well located, simple ambiance restaurant. The restaurant was almost empty which kinda surprised me when we entered but didn't disappoint when we were served with an amazing and corteous dinner. Welcomed with a dahi bhalla on the house, we had ordered makai cheese ka tiltila which was very tasty and aptly cooked..Even the masala papads were very well done, with the papad fried perfectly and good mix of the masala. For the main course, there was dal makhani and bhindi singhara. Dal makhni was ok, nothing great but on the contrary bhindi singhara was amazing, the semi gravy was just a beauty.(this being said, even when i don't like bhindi much). Ulta tawa ka paratha is a great addition and change to the regular roti n naan options. Staff is very courteous and friendly. And not too expensive either, atleast based on it's location.
Overall a delightful experience, will visit again for the non veg dishes for sure.

Umerkot looks to me a good family restaurant and if you looking for a real indian taste then don't keep any doubt in mind and head to this place at koramangala.food is excellent. Tried there Runaq e seekh, Murgh ki chaanp and teekhi machhi tawe wali for starters which was simply awesome. good decent and friendly service by some long time working old staff. Ambience weren't so great but if you look for good food then this things dose not make matters.

Hearing about this place from a long time finally made a visite with my family for lunch. The entry was very warm welcomely by the restaurants staffs. The restaurant was not very rushed but a very decent and calm atmosphere which was great to be. They had buffet and ala cart. We went for buffet coz they didn't charge for my kids and cost for buffet was very reasonable (@500 Ai). The spread in the buffet ware excellent specialy those tandoori kababs.
I must admit I had a great time with family. Definitely going to visit again and recomended place to everyone. :-)

Well, amongst the better mughlai / Indian restaurants around, doubtlessly. Mind you, a continental food lover is saying this! I've tried their tandoori chicken and it turned out to be very good, with the right amount of spice and flavour.
Awesome looking place located in the busiest main streets from Sony signal.Has got so much going on in name of ambience , great prices and lots of space for team outings and buffets. Nonvegetarians will be disappointed however.
This place sits silently in the happening corridor of Kormangala. We went on a Sunday and there was hardly any crowd there. The staff was courteous and served us a welcome starter.
Their Khumb Chandanwani - a mushroom dish was amazing and is worth a try. You can also try the non traditional rotis, the made of Moong Dal or Sesame Seeds.
What this restaurant lacks is am ambiance, maybe that has to do with the crowd it targets. Overall, a good place for North Indian and Mughlai.

A great experience. Went there for the first time. Good hospitality. For starters we ordered Much ki Chap and Lahori Paneer Tikkas. Shorba Kashmir ka was good too; which was a tomato based soup with lil bits of apple.
For Main course, we ordered Dal Makhni, Jugalbandi Sabji and malai kofta. Each of them were equally good. Along with the main course we ordered Butter Naan and Kulcha. To end the fantastic dinner, we ordered gulab jamun with vanilla ice cream.
It was a great experience dining there and hoping to visit them soon.
Haven been coming here for over 10 years now. We keep coming back here after being disappointed by other places. They have changed the buffet style for good. Don't need to get up from your table. Go here for sure class and quality. Wish them continued success.
Update...Was there again, that is 3 times in 5 months. The ambience continues to be quiet for a family. No loud discotheque music. No crowds or loud neighbors at the table. The starters (veg) were just new and yet familiar...hara bhara kabab was so soft and fresh. For once I didn't find imitations of Barbeque restaurants that every buffet restaurant is throwing at us. The veg sabji was slightly spicy, but Aloo Gobi Tuk was just delicious. We just said to ourselves ..thank goodness we have some place to rely on Everytime.

If i could put it in one word, Umerkot to me is all about Ambience. A true fine dining experience. Have been here just once and it happened to be an unplanned visit for a quick dinner.
Step in and the first thing that strikes you is the whole look and feel of this place. The interiors are fantastic. The set up, with light music in the background is ideal for making conversation.
Coming to the food, we just had a couple of starters in lahori paneer tikka, hara bhara kebab and murgh afghani. Service is good.

We have been a regular dinner customer of umerkot ever since it opened. And have always come back satisfied. Be it the complimentary namakpara or kebabs. But this had to stop around 3 years ago. I think this was the time when the chef opened another restaurant and his attention got diverted. The food began to suck... and so we stopped visiting.
Then agai. Just last Saturday we thoughtvof giving it a go once again. And....... we were surprised... the food was simply awesome. Better than before. Even my kids liked it. It was simply finger licking.
This is what happens when you give your work your personal attention.
P.s. the interior needs a makeover...
Had been to Umerkot booking a reservation for dinner with my wife and parents. It was a special day for me as it was my wife's birthday and Mr. Mallik, the person who helped me with the reservation had made all the arrangements in time and was up to the mark. The food and the service was awesome and was appreciated by my family members as they are fond of Mughlai. The starters and main course were delicious and met my expectation and was happy to see my wife and my parents happy with the food and the hospitality shown by the Umerkot staffs. I've come here 3 times for dinner. Each time, I had hoped there was a buffet, but they say only during lunch there's an option for a buffet.
I really like the decor here. Everything here is very royal. Right from the linen to the glasses, they're clean. The chairs could get more comfortable though. One side is sofa, so it's all right.

Like the name "Umerkot", like the ambience is. Was lovely to get to know about the Chef Sanjai who has been honored at Korea for serving food to our Hon'ble PM.
With regard to the food, though they have a limited variety; yet we can get any sort of food amongst that (meaning spicy; non-spicy, etc.,). Mainly the staffs were very polite and understanding unlike many other restaurants I have visited in the same area. Decently priced for a couple.
