We used to go here for every New Year’s Eve and I’ve go to say, this is the best restaurant in and around Jayanagar for it’s value for money.
The food is good too and best under budget.
Tried the buffet for 14 adults and 4 kids... the staff was polite... Awesome food and nice ambience... They custom made dishes seperately for kids...they totally loved it...!!
A food joibt /corner where you would find a large varieties of kebabs ranging from dahi kebabs to mutton kebabs
My personal recomendations are for mutton kebabs and fish tikkas too
Good food nothing too extravagant but all that is served is sumptuous. Kid friendly atmosphere and the courteous staff make you comfortable.
A good place for family lunch. Ambience and good quality service. P.s. If you opt for the buffet, ask what it includes and don't miss out on the starters, they are really good.
Went for a family dinner. Loved the place and the Ambience. Located upstairs the place is such peace to be. Ordered chaap masala, zafrani kabab and a few more non vegetarian dishes. All tasted the best. A good place for non vegetarians 😝

So tried this tawa pompret, butter chicken, and kashmiri lamb if m not wrong with the name.. .pretty decent place....not too dim o no too much light..service is kinda slow but good enough...food is tasty...not a place if u are in hurry...can try tawa pompret..its yum...n yes, Rotis here is crisp n good.
This place is absolutely gorgeous..the food is perfect..the ambience is soothing..the decor is simple and elegant..with beautiful music in the background..but the best thing about this place is its service..very warm and comforting..a big thumps up to Sofraa👍👍👍

Sofraah is one of our favourite restaurants in Bangalore. Must try - Peshavari tandoori murgh (it's simple scrumptious) and the Biryanis are fresh and garnished perfectly. Our other favs include Garlic Naan, Dal Makhani and malai Kumbh khazana
Went there for team lunch and it was above expectations. Tandoori starters were yummy, and spread was decent enough for the price of 499. Service was prompt.
They have indoor sitting as well as terrace sitting. We chose the terrace sitting which in winters makes it a lovely affair!

For the main course we had both chinese and punjabi. We ordered:
Paneer buttermasala (average prep)
Dal makhani ( upto mark)
Breads ( crispy roti 😍, yummy stuffed onion kulcha and butter kulchas)
Triple schezwan ( wouldnt disappoint u)
Burnt garlic fried rice ( the flavour of gatlic was superb)
Mushroom manchurian ( not that great!)

This place was in my list for a long time. And this time, I wasn't gonna miss when I'm in Bangalore. Now, what is better time than a Weekend Lunch to explore a this Classic Restaurant? So, here I am writing about my experience.
Just as you step in, you realise that you absolutely made no mistake choosing this place for Saturday Lunch. The place is very neat, tidy, organized, spacious and relaxing. The ambience is very good. Light Instrumental music in the background will just refresh your mood. Tables are organized in a beautiful manner to make it accessible from any corner of the room.
As we took our seat, I couldn't help myself noticing the nice napkin art in front me. The staff here is very polite and the service is very good. We were served soup followed by starters, which by the way were delicious. They have 5-6 items for starters combined veg and non-veg.
For the main course, you have 4 gravies including fish, prawns, chicken and mutton for non-veg and 2-3 roughly for veg. I am a strict non-vegetarian. So, didn't bother to step in veg section. They also have Biriyani for rice prep lovers. And desserts will definitely seek you attention. Food were delicious enough to make you find more space in your tummy for one extra round.
The only thing which I found limited is the number of dishes. Of course they do compensate that with those few delicious dishes but I would like to see some more number of items on the stand. And lastly, I myself had to take a half hour rest before I walked out from there.
Been here on a weekend for lunch.. The rooftop ambience is just good and the veg n chicken biryani was just amazing.... Simple n subtle flavors... It's was yummy n too heavy on tummy 😊
I loved the bindi with mustard dish. Never had such good veg food. have been returning there many times with family and friends. The furnishing is in good taste.
Good tandoori starters, great dal, roti and curries, flavorful biryani are the reasons to go here. On weekday nights if Sofraah dining is closed all it means is that you could dine at Tangra on the floor below and order from both the kitchens. Overall service at Sofraah is above average and the food in general is good. The restaurant has a nice ambience and along with Tangra this also is a good option for a family dinner outing.

I had been hearing a lot about this restaurant from my friends, so went there last week to see if the hype was really worth it. This restaurant is in the same building which has a terrace lounge bar as well as "Tangra" a Indo-Chinses restaurant too. However the staff told me that they can get us the same menu in all three restaurants now. I wanted to try the desserts from the cake shop, but unfortunately it was closed & I couldn't try their X'mas special offers/Since we reached there at 11:00 pm, there were only two other customers around. So once again, we could take our pick from the seats. Once we settled in, we ordered for some Tandoori chicken & mutton biryani. Will we waited it out, they gave us some complimentary masala papads with spicy mint chutney. Before the papads were over, they served us our starter which was the Tandoori chicken. I must confess that it was quite well marinated, spiced & cooked in the most perfect matter. One bit & my friend and I were lost for words as to describe the taste. The quantity too was quite satiating & hence it really deserves a 4*.Up next was the Mutton biryani which was a bit of a flop show as even though they had used basmati rice for it, there was no aroma emanting from it. However my friend was very happy as he got two big chunks of mutton in it. & he said that the mutton was juicy, tender & succulent too. Since I just tasted the biryani rice & watery raitha, I will just give it a miserly 3*.The ambiance is good, but not so great. I guess they should have gone in for a more middle eastern setting in keeping with their name "Sofraah" which means tablecloth. So will give it a 3.5*.The service was quite efficient, so I am giving them a 4*. However coming to the value for money, they will get a 3.5* as this place is quite pricey.Yes, I will be back to try their lunch buffet offers.

Its a pleasant surprise in heart of jayanagar. I had my usual Favorites - Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Mutton Rogan Josh & Palak Paneer. The taste was as always "finger licking good".
Sofraah is located on a terrace with very dim lights. The place looks great .
Food - The soup is average
The non veg starters are okay
But the biryani is just amazing, the biryani is very light and it tastes really good.
The desserts are from the cake shop in the ground floor of Eden. The cakes are good too.

The food was pretty good. No second thoughts about that. However the ambience was not that great. The corner sofa seats were not that clean and was dusty. On the day of our visit, the AC was also not working and they had to keep all window doors open. This place can be visited once.
Had been here for a Saturday night dinner with friends. Had not booked a table but got one outright. Not many people seem to know this place as there wasn't much crowd for a Saturday night. We ordered Lahori Lal and Amritsari Machi Tikka for starters. Both were recommended by the steward and were exceptional. For main course we ordered Dum Gosht Biryani. The mutton was tender and taste was heavenly. I would highly recommend this place for some good North Indian food. The pricing is quite reasonable so does not pinch the pocket as well.
So this Burrp-licious review is from our Saturday's visit. The fresh lime soda was fair for the non drinker. While the Mojito sure was relaxing ;).
So we began with the starters: "Whole Pepper Chicken" the meat was crispy in few places, a little rubbery in few the most irritating bits were the pepper balls, wish they were crushed.
The main course was a bowl of fiery hot
"Shezwean Fried Rice" with "Veg Dumplings with Hot Garlic Sauce" this being our favorite mix of combination and it was really well made and a treat to our taste buds.
Lastly, the yummy "Daarsan" the fried (whatever) item they are dipped in a sweetened syrup of heavenly goo topped with Vanilla ice cream (Sigh! My tummy is growling again) was a purrfect way to end a lazy Saturday afternoon meal.
So whilst in this area and in the mood to eat the Indian Chinese food try this place and treat your taste-buds, the prices don't burn a hole in our pockets. :)
I had been to this place on my birthday...
The place has a good ambience well maintained decor. Now let me first start with starters there are 3 veg and 3 non veg starter which was really good and filling... next in main course there were 2 subji's and 2 rice items which was decent enough...derest in last in which they have varities of cakes which were really yumm and some halwa and ice cream which was decent enough on whole it is a nice place to hangout for lunch with your friends and family at a good price.
Recently I had my family gathering for dinner. The experience of having food, especially the starters mutton chap was excellent. Good food & nice service my family enjoyed that evening.
This restaurant was on my wish list for a long time. Today being New Years Eve we just dropped in without a plan. I really don't regret my decision. The interiors are pleasant. Comfortable chairs and sofas. The staff is so polite and they keep checking on you to know if you like the food that is being served course by course. Coming to the food we ordered the chicken shorba,for starters we ordered the Peshwari kabab, Indonesian spicy chicken, we ordered the sofrah special chicken gravy with butter naan. Starters and gravies served are of sizeable portions. Far too much for two people. Each item was finger-licking good. The chicken served was so tender and done to perfection. I highly recommend this hotel to all who love North Indian food. I will definitely be back to try out their buffet next time.

A must must visit for all the vegetarians who love eating north indian food! Its not like your regular south indian kinda north indian food but real authentic mughlai food with brilliant flavours! The decor is average but the food is worth every penny especially there dal makhaani, american crispy corn and awadhi paneer with huge portions! The food is mouth watering good:)

Summary : Visited this place for lunch buffet today. It was a really good experience.. The food is really good, especially the starters.. 1 V and 1 NV Soup... 3 NV Starters & 3 Veg Starters..NV Starters had Momos, Chicken Tikka and Chicken drumstick... All food items were really good and tasty.. Starters and soup was served on the table on tangra floor (Not sure why this adjustment). We moved to 2nf floor for main course and desserts !!! There were 5 desserts and fruits as well..
Ambiance : Relaxed and quite... There was not much crowd.. wondering why .. considering that food and price is exceptionally matching and fits pocket well.. The staff was really courteous and helpful..
Food : Since i got full with the starters itself, i could try main course much.. roti and nan was served on table.. and went well with the chicken pepper curry.. my friends told good words about the veg gravies as well..
Price: All this in 399 AI. Its something which is not possible in Bangalore anymore that too with the ambiance this place offer.

Sofraah is a beautiful place located in Jayanagar on the second floor at Eden Park Restaurants. The cuisine they serve is of the north-west frontier. For starters, we wanted to have the gallouti kebab but to our misfortune it wasnt available. So we had chicken tandoori and mutton dry. Both of them were, literally, finger-licking good and huge in the number of pieces served per plate. For the main course, we had mutton rogan josh and dal makhani with butter naan. The rogan josh was perfect in terms of spices, oil and taste. The mutton was soft and well cooked. But what I loved the most was the dal makhani made with a generous amouny of butter. The naan added to the flavor. Thinking about that dal makes my mouth water. For the downside, this is an expensive place. But if you dont mind spending on heavenly food, the bill wont matter much. Gotta go back for that dal makhani!

Found out about sofraah on zomato . For the first time we found a restaurant where we loved and savoured every dish , It was simply outstanding and the décor and ambience we good but they can improve on their service . This place provides quality with quantity but is a bit high with its prices . Will most definitely visit again ,

I have been there lot many times with family and friends.
Every time I have been able to eat good mutton biryani but had a bad experience with chicken. Onto the starters side...again its not worth shouting about but good compared to many other places I have visited.
The place still needs a lot of improvements in terms of quality, staff and ambience.
I will visit this place again even after knowing that I have to wait 15 mins for cleaning the table

It a good place for a relaxed dinner. Ambience is good, easy to find a parking place, the place is located in a semi commercial place. They play light music and on the projector usually a sports channel is played. Nice place for family and friends.
Beer at this palce is generally good. The cocktails are good as well. They server north indian and chinese food.
The starters are quite good. The platter is good choice, most of the things in the platter is quite good. The chinese starters are also quite good. Overall good range of starters and tastes good. Rating of starters: 4/5

Ambience: is relaxed and quite, good for place for get togethers.
this place serves one of the best non-veg in area. It may be a little costly but the food is so tasty that you would not regret spending a little extra!!

3 of us had gone there and we had the power lunch for 299. They first served Dhaniya Murg Shorba which was quite different from the usual. Then Tandoori Broccoli and Chicken Tikka. Both were marinated really well and I usually don't like broccoli but this was crunchy and flavourful.
The main course had a Chicken Masala gravy (I think), Chicken Biryani, Curd Rice, Dal Fry and Naan. The Chicken Gravy and the Naan were perfect together. My favourite was the Chicken Biryani.
The dessert of the day was Tiramisu. I don't know why it was called that because all it had was whipped cream and some coffee sprinkled over it with a piece of chocolate as garnish. This was the worst part of the meal considering they have a bakery right below the restaurant. I expected something better than this.
Overall, this is a place where you can get a good meal but because they don't have a buffet-like arrangement, you tend to feel that a lot of food has been wasted.

I want to review this just because it is so deserving! Number 1 North Indian restaurant (fine dining) in Jayanagar, I can safely bet. I'm glad that it's less than a block away from where I live, so we walk, no traffic no trouble.
It opens upto an ordinary decor, it could've been better, but it's just my opinion. What looks great is the building from the outside with the lights and all that focusing on it.
The food is wonderful. Everything tasts fresh, smells amazing, and was bursting with flavor.
Service is alright, glasses don't go empty, but I remember this one very busy evening, the waiters were running around like headless Chickens but still REALLY took their time to get us our mains.
Personal favorites are the juicy succulent Chicken Tikka kebabs. Looks like they bring it you the second they're pulled out of that Tandoor. Butter chicken is close to authenticity (although I swear by Punjabi By Nature's Butter Chicken). The outstanding Daal Palak is our regular order!
Well, I can't think of anything that we ordered that was bad to our taste buds.
It's typically a family style restaurant so you can expect food to be priced on the higher side, but I wouldn't mind paying for it; the food plus the portions are decent.
I adore their fantastic Power Lunch that was introduced recently. It's not a buffet but it's a meal that is all-you-can-eat. Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian.
This is what they served us as the Non-Vegetarian pre-set Lunch.
Chicken Shorba, Paneer Tikka, Chicken Kali Mirch (or something like that), Indian breads, Chicken Masala (no bones!!), Daal Palak, Chicken Biriyani, Rice mixed with plain Yogurt and a Rich Walnut brownie.
There is absolutely no sacrifice in the quality, specially when it's only priced at 299 (no taxes), it's a steal!
Everything comes to you hot, spicy and rich!
I wish I was a cow with four stomachs so I could squeeze all the above one by one :)

The starters, main course serve quite well
Its one of the best for Afghani cuisines. The food is simply awesome. The kebabs have the perfect balance of flavour n texture. We opted for their Sofraah special Rogan Josh. Let me tell you, I tried hard till the end to sort out the recipe n the spices used. But I couldn't which means I have to go there to try the same dish again. And I really really DON'T COMPLAIN. The service too is up there in par with the best.
The added advantage: We got a table by the window and it was raining outside.
