Regular customer, prompt service, polite staff, food ia tasty, quality and quantity both are good. Price is average. Love the taste. Specially like badaam halawa and gobi, panner tikka masala and kulcha are good. Fried rice and noodles are also nice to try. Masala dosa are must try.
It is a normal restaurant whose rates are in average range. They provide good quality food in affordable rates.
Must try badam halawa
Palak puri Sunday special
And Sunday special dosa
Filtered coffee
Buns special
Over all I love foods
A great place and great menu for a relaxed weekend breakfast . They also have lunch and other food served. It's not like other fast food crowded joints. Sambar stands out and their Fruit Sandwich is must try.
A good place for South Indian menu. The food is good and authentic.
A decent place to take out your family and friends. I prefer breakfast since they are best for South Indian delicacies which are prepared in the morning.
My menu: veg pulav, masala dosa, kharabath, curd vada

This restaurant is really old and famous. Love the food here. You get food at a good price here.
I had ordered
Veg Pulav- which was really good and looks amazing.
Mangalore buns- it was good, it was a bit oily but had good sweetness. Loved it alot.
Carrot halwa- it was just average. It was too sticky and wasn't prepared properly. But okey to eat it.
Overall a good place
Food- 4.6/5
Oldest hotel which has been there from decades...bangalore localities one of the hotspots...would recommend this place for hot breakfast...serves tasty breakfast..idli vada sambar dip, carrot halwa, bisibelebath, upma are the best

Nice place for south Indian food especially variety of dosas. Located in heart of basavangudi in South Bangalore. If u are dosa lover then this is the right place
So good food which tastes like heaven. I really liked the taste and I'm looking forward to make more orders in SLV corner. Good healthy food delivered.
Excellent food and taste. I’m a regular Eater at this joint.
I’ll recommend people to try this place if not tried. And I’m sure you will love it.
Polite and friendly staff. Food is awesome. I visited last Sunday. Loved this place. My baby also liked food very much.prices also very reasonable.

You can never go wrong with SLV. Go early in the morning either to the stand n eat outlet or the one opposite to it where you have the dine in option. The idly, kharabath, and dosas are hot favourites and best sellers. We ordered the same.
Hot Idly, hot n crisp vadas, kharabath and rava dosa. Yummy. Ambience is very ordinary. The serving staff have been the same for years now but extremely courteous.
This is an ever crowded restaurant. Visiting and finding a table in this restaurant is like a maze. Everytime during my visit I end up going somewhere inside a maze or at times even top floor yet like a maze to find table. The food is good, service at times not so good considering the crowd. Price wise decent for the ambiance.
We had a quick stop for snacks there. Easy on pocket and typical quick service south indian food. The juices and dosas were delicious! We went during early evening and the place was packed!
A decent place for small plates and tasty breakfast. There might be some waiting time here as it is one of the recognized places in Bangalore. I recommend this place to have breakfast with friends and family. Overall it was a good experience with courteous service and a tasty breakfast.
Opposite to this place, another SLV is there where you can stand and eat.
Best bets: Masala Dosa, Poori and Chow chow bath

Had Masala dose, rava dose and vada.
Masala dose was yumm crisp and must try. Rava dose was good too.
As i visited this place in the evening, vada wasn't crisp and was lil blant.
Service was quick with moderate crowd.
Overall good place to visit to have breakfast.
Heard that gajar ka halwa is good, but I missed having it. Will definitely try it next time
Nice crisp masala dosa morning breakfast...just loved it would look forward to come here again. Fast service, friendly staff, reasonable prices and good taste of food.
Visited this place for lunch.
Items ordered were;
North Indian Thali,
Curd Vada,
Veg Grilled Sandwhich.
North Indian Thali consisted of Soup, Papad, Champakali, Naan, Paneer Buttermasala, Palak Gravy, Veg Curry, Pulao, & Curd Rice.
It was a great meal, the only let down was the Veg Curry which did not taste good, apart from this all the items were good.
Veg Grilled Sandwich & Curd vada, the portion was good for the price charged.
In all a very satisfying meal.
We visited the 'SLV Corner Restaurant' to relish an authentic South Indian breakfast yesterday morning. We had planned to drive down to another very famous legendary food outlet near ‘Shankar Math’, but it was closed and the owner of the restaurant suggested us to try SLV. He mentioned that SLV serves the exact same delicious South Indian delicacies and that both the restaurants belong to the same family and use the same recipes & preparation methodologies.
We noticed that there were two SLV outlets, both just opposite to each other on the wide Bull Temple road. One of them is a sitting restaurant and the other one is a traditional standing South Indian darshini. We chose the latter, which had a very infectious energy and was buzzing with people even so early in the morning. There was a huge queue at the billing counter, which was the only place where we had to wait for a while. Otherwise, the service was very prompt and quick despite so much rush on a Sunday morning.
We ordered Idli, Masala Dosa & Kesari Bath. While ordering, we were told that they have two variants of Idlis, one with Idlis dipped in Sambhar, and the other variant has Idlis dipped in coriander and coconut chutney. The Idlis were melt-in-the-mouth soft and delicious, a must try at SLV. We also loved their ‘Masala Dosa', which had a very unique masala filling – indeed very delicious, tangy and rich.
Wonder how I had never heard about this place before as it is certainly a very famous legendary breakfast outlet, serving Bangaloreans since 1970’s. Must try breakfast outlet in Bangalore and a definite recommendation!
Good, homely food😊 The best south Indian meal takeaway in Bangalore in terms of authentic taste, variety, quantity and value for money. Well packaged and delivered too👍 Keep it up, SLV Corner😊😊

One of the oldest restaurant in Basavanagudi which serves amazing dosa and idli sambar...people do hangout here after their everyday routine walk in Lalbagh or Krishna Rao park to have coffee and lipsmacking idli sambar..
Nice place near Basavanagudi, worth trying all the items , Dosa and vada is too good , any item is good it is always filled with people , coffee is good

Located in Basvangudi and is a perfect place for a simple yet tasty breakfast.Best filter coffee and idly, vada!
Their sambar is just delicious!
I wouldn't recommenced the masala dosa....The bisi bele bath here is really good!
The price was very reasonable. Highly recommended for a good sunday breakfast.
SLV is probably the only place that serves a chutney dip. I went there with my cousins on a Sunday morning. It was packed to the brim with people which was a really good sign. We were soon seated and we ordered poori, masala dosa, idly chutney dip, idly sambhar dip, vada and vada with sambhar dip.
The ambience is pretty basic like a darshini style. It’s properly ventilated and quite a few people can be seated at a time. The service is quick and courteous.
The poori was fluffy and not oily. It tasted really good with the saagu and chutney. The masala dosa was pretty standard. If you like very crisp dosas, you’ll like this. The idly chutney dip was delectable. The chutney was refreshing with the flavour of coriander and coconut.
What I didn’t quite fancy was the coffee and tea. Both of them were very strong and even my cousins felt so.
Overall, a nice breakfast joint to go with your family.

I happen to chance on this restaurant while in the area. It was a rainy evening so I went for the Bonda soup to enjoy the weather. Add a coffee in the end. The small meal was delicious and satisfying. Definitely a five. Ambience was so so but service was really fast.

Located at the heart of Basavanagudi, has one of the best Masala Dose.
Vada + Sambhar (dip) is one of my personal favourite.
The sambhar is full flavoured and crispy vada tastes delicious.
Everything from Rava Idly to Coffee is satisfactory.

This is the best place to have a full fledged meal and at a great price as well. Handi Dum Biryani is definitely a must try. Also try the North Indian meals which will fill your stomach and put a smile on your face after that. Enjoy!!
The restaurant is good and it has one of the nicest north indian dish taste and deserts are very good. Parking is available within 200 metres from the restaurant

Must try once if you love north Indian food especially their palak paneer is just amazing.
Usually, I dine out here as the food is tasty, good ambiance and distance is convenient.
The order delivery was quick.
I am against plastic usage. However; most of the hotels supply food in either plastic boxes or aluminum covers. This is leading to a lot of waste generation. Kindly think of an alternative to this. Thank you.

It was a Saturday morning when I and my friends came here for breakfast. It was moderately crowded and it was not that difficult to find a seat for ourselves. I ordered the Vada with sambar drip to start off with. It was served to me in less that 5 minutes. The Vada was perfectly fried and the sambar was simply amazing (flawless). We also ordered a plate of idly which was served with coriander chutney. The idly was fluffy and was steaming hot. To end our perfect breakfast, we ordered double strong coffee which was simply divine.
good taste but too costly

Very nice south Indian breakfasts.
Too quick service. Its in the centre..they have fast self service as well serviced halls also.
Variety if dosa are available. Crispy vada dip is awesome. Idlis are super soft.
Sides like sagu chutney sambhar are excellent too.
Must try..
SLV corner is a place I've been coming to for more than 10 years!
The north indian food here is excellent for the price. They could do some work on the south indian dishes as the taste doesn't justify the price according to me.
There's a hidden dish in the menu which is more than "Bang for Buck" - Batura with Panner Makhni. This is for people who are very hungry, on a budget of Rs. 120 and want tasty north indian curry. This dish doesn't disappoint as it's rich in quantity as well as taste.

Very good location for lunch had south meals after long time. Ambience is ok OK old local style but they serve fast and good. Quantity is also good
Another South Indian vegetarian hotel in Basavangudi. But, a good one. Pretty old. Maintained its quality and taste over the years. The Kharabath here is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been visiting this place innumerable times and the taste still remains the same. Filter coffee under the trees is heavenly. Best part, everything is so reasonable.

I honestly thought I'd get something here that will blow my mind. Something like the other legends in Bangalore are known for, like Bhramins or CTR. But what I got here was good quality southern fare, Whig had no stand out really. They have a wide menu option for North indian and Chinese as well. I guess that's where SLV is losing its identity and plot. But the food here is decent and I will not complain about it. Try their vada and rava dosa. They're not the same you'd get everywhere else.
Neer dose is the best, try Rava Idly dont miss that. Very old outlet, with the same taste. But please get your restroom refurbished. Would love to come again...
Nice place for breakfast and coffee. Idly and kharabath are a must try. Lunch is also very good. Place is always crowded but seats can be avaible somewhere. Service is quick.
Have been to this place hundreds of times.
Always crowded in the morning. Breakfast menu is really good and tasty.
Kara bath with chetny...yummm🤤
Restaurant opposite to self service is also good.
Palak poori is yumm but with raita.
North Indian food is tasty too.
Sundays it gets crowded and should wait for your turn.
Lookout for what’s special(menu) on the weekends.
And finally it’s pocket friendly.
I usually go to the one opposite to the place where they have service and seating place. I simply love this place. Good quality and tasty food at very good price. No fluff and just good food. Best items to try are idli and crispy vade, coffee is a life saver. With desserts try chandrahara and carrot halwa. Even though I don’t eat the desserts often, I vouch for its taste. Must visit.
The food is very delicious and it is a good environment for having a tasty meal service and ambience is excellent ,different north indian meals are served at this place.
Palak Poori
" The more it is puffed more it looks awesome. Mouth will wet for dry & thick chutney. ( Gatti chutney in kannada ) It did not shrunk even after piercing it. Hot air blowing out of hot poori and of sure you will have a hot burping... "

Ambiance was good, food was good and hygiene wise above my expectations.
Personally I loved Idly and Vada.
Also I like Tea and fruit chat.
A very decent place for South indian/North Indian and Chinese. Loved their flavors in North Indian thali, one of the few places to have a Chinese thali as well. Very aptly priced, good location and quick service.
Masala Dosa @ amazing taste... Highly recommend Dosa lovers to try this place. Good service, decent ambience, tasty food, cost might be a little higher, but worth the taste
This restaurant is located near ramakrishna ashrama, basavanagudi. Very spacious and crowded place. They serve good North Indian and south Indian dishes. Good for family hangout. Starter, mains were good. Price was okay not much expensive. Staffs and service were good. Parking available. Must visit. Rakshith Prakash
Nice tiffin items. both south indian and north indian items are good. their curd vada is too good. meals are also okayish. service is quick. clean and hygenic
Been here a couple of times and I can only say"I just love eating in here".
Parking space is limited in this area. The ambience is quiet okay. Coming to the food, is very delicious. Must take Chinese dishes and Roti.
Service is also the best. friendly staff.
Had a good experience over all.

This is one of the best place for almost all types of cuisines. Since I visit this place regularly, I have been lucky enough to try a lot on their menu, and not a single item has let me down. Their sundaes are as good as their handi biriyani and Chinese items. They also serve specials everyday which are a must try. The service is excellent and so quick that not once have I waited for more than 15 minutes even on a Sunday night. Their dal fry wins hands down and must be the loveliest that I have ever eaten. The only negative is that their washrooms are not well maintained.
Best place for evening good after work. You get the best CHEESE MAGGIE here. There's no place to sit. The ambience is that of random street eateries.
Good crispy masala dose is what I will remember about this place. They have nice breakfast options - masala dosa, upma, idli wada, kesari bhath. All the food items were good. Coffee could have been better. Also, as we visited on a Sunday morning the place was pretty occupied and hence the service was kind of slow. Decent place for south Indian breakfast and meals.
This review is for the thindi place opposite their sit down place. Both are owned by the same management.
Good, reliable, Bangalore style Darshinis food. We had their rava dosa, Idli vadE, kesaribhath and Kaapi. All good. Kesaribhath had pineapple, rava dosE was fresh and had a kick from chilies. It's served with saagu and chutney. They also have an orange halwa on their menu which I'd like to try next time. It seems to be a popular item.
The sambar didn't have the sweet note though, which is a but surprising.
But the star of the day were the Buns. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I think I'll visit this place for the buns again and again. They also serve bonda soup and chaat items like masal Puri in the evenings.
Do give it a shot!
Speak about old School, this is one of the best eat out that has happened to Bangalore South. It has far better Idly and Chutney as compared to other joints with similar heritage. Their Masala Dosa is as good as any other place, with the given cost, I think the management needs to be praised for maintaining the taste and quality for this many years.
Ofcourse their Chow Chow Bath is comparable, not a stand out though. Coffee is just like any other place, not the best to be honest.
A special shout out since they are free from all additives such as MSG, food colouring etc.,
4.5 for the yummy malai kofta in a pocket friendly budget!!
Must say never had such amazing malai kofta all these years . Their kulfi falooda is great too.
Just loved the place. The North Indian food taste really nice, you'll fall in love with almost all the curries, the Roti items good too. It's a very good place to visit with your family. The North Indian meal is a pretty option if you're really hungry, it's my favourite in this place since three different class curries are served along with two Roti items. South Indian foods are also excellent. The taste is excellent. I've enjoyed the food all the times I've gone to this place. This is a very underrated restaurant in the locality
Keep going here for lunch.
The Manchurians especially the GOBI and MUSHROOM really nice and the quantity is great too.
The meals South Indian and North Indian are tasty but Chinese is not at all good.
Been there to try South indian delicacy in pocket friendly price and we didn't get disappointed. Prices are very decent and good crowd puller food centre. Gona visit again to taste some Dishes from hotel menu.
➡➡⏩ The review is based on the darshini place located across the Ramakrishna ashrama circle on vani vilas road.... It's one of the best places...
➡➡⏩ It's a legendary place famous for its masala dosa... Thus had ordered crispy masala dosa and vada sambar....
➡➡⏩ The chutney and sambar are amazing and very tasty...😇 The taste is unique and wonderful... 😊😊😃😋😍
➡➡⏩ The service was amazingly quick... In a nutshell one of the best places around 😃
This legendary restaurant is famous for its Masale dose and filter coffee.
I love their Masale Dose, bullet idly, neer dose and filter coffee the most.
Decent place to eat snacks, the food is average nothing special to be specific. Not very pocket friendly. Overall an average one time go restaurant.
One of the most iconic darshini near rama Krishna ashrama . I have been visiting this place since many many years ! After a jog at lalbagh this was my alternate to vidyarthi bhavan! .
Coming to food I have eaten almost all the south Indian dishes here ! And they are all really good!
1.idly vada - I really love their samber , the hot fresh samber in the morning is heaven for me! The idly is soft and the vada have adequate size and are not oily !.
2.masala dosa - the dosa is very pretty famous here , they make some mean masala dosa not as good as vidyarthi bhavan but definitely one of the good ones .
3.puri and saguu - the puri are quite big and not oily , the saguu is pretty tasty !.
4.chow chow bath - they are also pretty amazing ! The tangy karabath and the sweet kesaribath make an awesome combination! .
5.coffee - 2 words .......Filter coffee !
I always visit the darshini but they also have service hall right across the street ! . If your in for a quick amazing breakfast! Visit this place !
Must try once for all foodies !
Just a little before Ramakrishna Ashram Circle SLV corner restaurant is located on Vani Vilas Roas. There are two outlets located opposite to each other. One side you have the fast food, quick food option where you stand on the footpath and enjoy your breakfast, other side you have the restaurant with seating facility. Slv serves delicious breakfast but is not consistent on the taste. Soft idlis, crispy dosas are served with tasty chutney. Sambar served is amazing. I just love the sambar here. They also serve north indian food during lunch and dinner but the taste is just average. This place serves tasty south indian breakfast with yummy sambar.
The decor is basic and Service is just average. During rush hours they take really long for the dosas to be served. They have a seperate AC hall too.
Been here umpteen times
Specialists in South Indian food..
Nice place to visit with your family and friends
Avoid on weekend evenings this place is crowded
I had been to this place couple of times, certainly a great place for South Indian dishes. Dosa and chutney tastes really authentic here. Channa Batura is just mouth watering. Overall worth visiting restaurant though its not wallet friendly, south dishes are definitely overpriced. But I would recommend this place for some good tasty south indian food .

Been visiting this place since a really long time. It's gone from being clean to not-so clean.
Food - great! No complaints. Every dish you order will almost never disappoint you.
Ambiance - not nice. Unless you choose the Ac hall. Even ac hall is not so spacious. Can provide better ventilation on the ground floor.
Cleanliness - I think a lot of attention needs to be paid here by the management. 2/3 times that went here, the plates and cups were not very well cleaned. Has stains on it. There replaced it, still not very nice to see them.
The above 2 points make the great food a little less enjoyable. Otherwise, no complaints about food taste.
One more gem of a place for breakfast. Passed by this place so many times and never know about this hotel. Soft Idli's, Crispy Dosa's and Vada with awesome Chutney defines SLV. Ample place for car parking as this road is wide. Should try if you are nearby.
Good old place, which has a very good variety of dishes and their amazing service is top notch. It Gives that old bangalore feel when you enter and have food there.
Bathroom are not very clean.
My favourite North Indian restaurant in Basavanagudi. Value for money and quick service. My favourite is roti and stuffed tomato. I visit this place atleast once in 2 weeks and the taste is consistent always.
Located on the busy road a major challenge is to find parking..Very tasty idly vada and dosa..Proper south Indian meals also available for lunch..most of the time its crowded..Awesome coffee..
Located on the busy main road you will be delighted to savour the food here once you find parking (a major challenge)...
The hotel serves proper southindian breakfast which includes idli/vada which is just too good. The Idlis are soft and vadas are crisp with the wonderful sambar and chutney...
Loved the set dosa and onion dosa here... very delicious...
The filter coffee is a joy to have...
Place too crowded during peak hours..
See efficient
Breakfast for 2 costs Rs 200/-
Visited this place on a Monday morning around 9am. The place was not crowded. They had ample seating available. Tasted the masala dose, khara bhath and vade. All were exceptionally good. I would definitely visit again and eat them again. The staff was quick. This place had parking for two wheeler too
The food was quite good. Lots of vegetarian dishes & chats are available. Ambience is good. Prices are pocket friendly. Masala dose is a must try dish & was very tasty. Usually it'll be crowded during weekends. Decent place to enjoy brunch with family and friends!!!
Awesome Food and great service.
Their Dose"s are very good and a must try, Bhel Puri was very tasty. Everyone enjoyed the food.
Amazing place for homely Bengaluru food!! Highly recommended for a foodie who loves good food and good service
A good place to have pure veg South Indian food. U usually I love the food they serve. But this time I didn't like the masala dose. Idly wasn't softer
Old restaurant which serves tasty Masala Dosa. This restaurant will be crowded in weekends especially after 9.30AM.
Go before that to get seat. Also standing is available in opp restaurant which is run by same owner and taste will be same.
We ordered Idly Vada, Masala Dosa, Rava idli, coffee, badam milk and all items tasted good. Oil content is more in Masala Dosa which has become common everywhere nowadays.
Huge seating is available, also AC room is available.
Most Famous item here is Masala Dosa, Dip Idly vada, Coffee, Khara Bhath for breakfast
And Masala puri (best in town), Dahi puri, Bhel puri, North Indian for evening chats.
Senior citizens love this place for its vibe and authentic south indian dishes.
Avoid sweets here except Chandrahara. No sweet tasted good.
Have a mandarory visit here!
Have been visiting this restaurant from quite sometime. Though the taste is inconsistent over the years, they have maintained a minimum guaranteed taste and quality. While this is the case of the restaurant, opposite to the restaurant is the self service part. Masala dosa, masala puri and coffee is something that I would recommend. These also vary in taste every time I visit but they offer bare minimum.
This place had some amazing coffee and it deteriorated from sometime!
Service was a bit slow and the food tasted awesome.
Very hygienic place and hotel in Avenue road.
Idly Vada Sambar - 5/5
Masala puri - 3.5/5
The idly & sambar here are perfect
Vada is good but could have been better
Masala puri was okayish
A very old vegetarian restaurant which really serves the best food at the best price and best quality since 1974, First time in life tried Rava Vada and it was pretty good, they do have many options of tiffin items, chat and Dessert as well and very nicely made tea and coffee for which this place has a special group of crowd, anytime you find at least 25ppl standing and enjoying this hot beverages, we friends tried Masala Dosa, Dahi wada, Rava wada, Pulao, Coffee and Gulab Jamoon, to be frank you can say anything bad about any product, Masala Dosa was top notch,Quality of Chutney was great, for tea and coffee they still use the Nandini Blue Milk packet till date, as usual self service, but standing tables are available anytime with 100% cleaning, good place one should definitely try and Much recommended, Really loved this place, cost wise I would say the most affordable, a food destination for all groups of people
