Great flavors, taste and arrived in chattis (pots). Unique and authentic Kerala dishes enjoyed by the family.
We recently ordered the dumporotta for Eid and boy, were we surprised! The flavours were incredible, the meat was so well cooked and the portions are massive! The spice level was just right. Everyone one in my family absolutely loved it and we are looking forward to ordering again ! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The dum Biryani was just right on spice and flavourful. The BDF was awesome
Very tasty food.

Loved the food.. Authentic kerala food.. There was difficulty in getting a parking around
True to its name, this place serves authentic Kerala cuisine food. Located opposite to HSR BDA Layout, the place is easily accessible. Parking maybe a problem though.
We visited on a Sunday noon and ordered the Mini Sadhya. It consisted of boiled rice served with Rasam, Sambhar, Morru Curry along with three other accompaniments, papad, pickle and banana chips served on a banana leaf. Also served was two types of payasam.
The staff are very courteous and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food and also saw orders were served relatively quickly for other tables. The prices are worth for the quality and quantity. Definitely a must visit place to try authentic Kerala cuisine.
We didn't know about this place until we visited Chennai earlier this month. We were looking for a cozy place to have lunch and found this restaurant in Chennai. We loved the simple veg thali there. My wife insisted on trying the whole menu here and we decided to try a couple of dishes every Sunday. So it's our first Sunday of the kumarakom Sunday marathon. The food is great. Chairs are comfy. The ambience is wonderful, the air smells of spices and there is a light fragrance of shallow fried fish. The food is presented well, I just hoped for more space on the tableđ. The payasam made out of jaggery was awesome. I'm going to enjoy December and January đ
I became a big fan of kerela food after my trip to kerela. All I was tempting for kerela food I got to hear about this place from one of my friend. I thought O should try. So I ordered kerela paratha, curry curry and crab roast. Crab was spicy but it was good. The interior gives you a vibe of kerela homes. Would definitely visit once again. Thanks for the food.
I was feeling very hungry on a Sunday and wanted to have very good meals. Everything I search in zomato would give me a north Indian restaurant. Mannnn...I was feeling what's Bangalore turning into and that's when I came across this restaurant. I have had fish curry meals before so I was having a good feeling abt it and also my fiance told that she had been to this restaurant in chennai and it was great.
So we went in and and the ambience was typical malabar style. Roof painted maroon to give a antique look and soft malayalam music reminds me of my granny! Dish wise, I had to try karimeen pollichatu. It came as a signature dish and with a personal recommendation :P. Also ordered leg soup, fish curry meals. She ordered Kerala parota and chicken curry.
The preparation and presentation of karimeen was superb. Honestly, if u like Kerala cuisine, u will like this. The masala and the fish was delicious. The spices wrapped in the banana leaf and those tender meat was something special. V both had one each and loved it. The boiled rice with fish curry was good. They had provided varieties of curries and I could not hold myself back and had another round :D. Apparently, parota and chicken curry was average. By the time I finished 2 rounds of meals, she was still struggling to finish her quota!

The Nadan Vibe with the authentic nadan food just hit me like a storm when I visited Kumarakom. I personally am not a fan of veg food but the dishes on the Onam Sadhya called out to me and I canât believe I ate all those vegetables at once. A beautiful place to spend time with family and friends. This restaurant is among my Top 3 Go to places.
Went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. They have a wide variety of dishes on the menu.. but when asked, only tuna was available for the day apart from prawns.
So we ordered a special veg meals with prawn ularthiyadu, beef fry and beef pepper roast. Everything tasted really good. The beef was a bit hard for me but it was good to have a proper oonu after a long time.
Being a Keralite I tend to take-away or dine-in at this restaurant very frequently. The ambiance, food and service at this restaurant has always been good.
Kerala Food then this is the place! Best one in town! Try the fish and the prawn, no regrets!
Stay away from the Chinese and north Indian food as its nit their cup of tea.
When we think of Kerala sadya, it's Kumarakam restaurant is what comes to our mind, beautiful ambience, good service, reasonable price ( for veg đ).They have recently started 'Pothichoru'...which is like really popular now, you will have to preorder it, if you want to try it..
This was my first visit to Kumarakom and I am certain by now that it will certainly not be the last.. Was craving for some traditional Kerala meal and luckily found this place..Had ordered a Fish Meal... I must say this was one of the best Kerala meals I had in recent times .. the Sambar was outstanding and had a more than generous quantity of vegetable like Unpeeled Raw Banana, Fat Drumsticks, Gourd and Pumpkin.. just the way I like ... the tuna fish curry was good too.. Overall a place to visit again & again..
Dropped in for family dinner, although t AC wasnât working we had to be part of wait list, it says t restaurant is good. Food was fresh, aappam were prepared In open kitchen, mutton ghee roast, Kadla curry were uptothe mark. Kids loved the chicken fry and their veg meals(sides were too good) Kerala paratha with Nandan kozhi curry was awesome. Overall a decent priced authentic restaurant.
Restaurant located near BDA, HSR. It serves Kerala cuisine. Refreshing taste. Serene ambiance. Good service. Went for weekend afternoon lunch, crowd was overwhelming. We ordered veg meal (unlimited). Ingredients and taste had sense of freshness in it. Good visit. Fine dine-in. Pricing is reasonable. Wide menu for both veg and non-veg options.
As soon as I entered the old wood wired chair and wood ceiling made me nostalgic, reminded me of my granny's old house. It was pleasant nostalgic feeling.

Must go place whenever want to go for Authentic Kerala Food.
The ambience is perfect....you get a grandmother's house feeling....
The food was amazing....we decided to go with the Thali and it was superb... authentic Kerela food .. nice place would recommend for the fish
vibe here is really good with some good music around. A good one for kerala food lovers. Loved it and would recommend to my friends aswell. .
Craving for authentic Kerala cuisine?? Visit this place. Loved their thali with a side of fried fish. The fish was fresh and satiated our taste buds completely. Staff is polite. Overall a good experience and worth visiting again
Good food and hygiene really good. Good options for both veg and non veg. At times you have to wait long for someone to take your order. Ambience is decent
Wondering why I did not visit this place till now.
Visited on a holiday afternoon with family.
Ambience was amazing with old Malayalam music in the background..loved it ..:-)
We ordered sadya ,netholi fry ,Kerala style pepper chicken and chicken biriyani ..
Loved all of it . Biriyani wasn't the best malabar biriyani we get in Bangalore, but it had the right flavours.
The service was also quick .
Would definitely recommend this place if you love Kerala cuisine.
The fish was absolutely amazing and the meals was great. Do order the sadyam if you are here during the weekends and meals if you are here on the weekdays and spice it up with a fish starter.
A great place for kerala food. We had meat roast, chicken roast and kerala parathas.
The food tasted great and we had no complaints.
Reminded us of authentic kerala food.
The only minor complaint was that they messed up the Sulaimani Tea we asked for but that was a minor hitch when you look at the grand scheme of things.
Worth a visit.
A great place to experience authentic Kerala food and vibe while in Bangalore. The place with its low wooden ceilings and Malayalam music in the background offers a great way to soak in the Kerala culture.Â
We ordered Karimeen Pollichathu, which is marinated fish wrapped in banana leaves. It was easily one of the best fish dishes I have eaten in my life. The spices used created the perfect taste and I could have easily eaten 2 servings of this dish. For main course we ordered Appam and Chicken Ghee Roast. The masala used in this curry is simply mind-blowing.Â
Their buttermilk as a beverage is good too.
Definitely going there for more of their Kerala delicacies.
Really good kerala style non vegetarian food with proactive and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a good meal.
Nice restaurant to dine in. Authentic kerala cuisine and I loved their interior and lighting. Yummy kadala curry and fish mulakilittathu. Loved their food and ambience. Visit here with ur loved ones, you will love it. I went here for dinner and tried their puttu appam kadala curry and meen curry and veg stew. Except veg stew all others were super yum! :)
Nice place to have Authentic Kerala Food in a decorated, luxury style ambience. The restaurantâs interiors r designed to resemble that of a naalukett... It is a bit dark, situated in the first floor.
The foodâs tasty. Had Porotta, Chicken Varattu arachad and Beef Fry. Chicken Varattu arachad was nice. Beef fry quantity was less while Porotta was fine. But not the best though. Lime soda was a let off as the soda had very lil gas.
The pricing is reasonable, more to the expensive side though.
Service is ok. Neither tooo bad or tooo goood.
Parking is a headache as the main road is a no parking zone.
Good place to go if you're craving a Sadhya. They have this special lunch sadhya on the weekends, which is very tasty.
It's light, easy on the spices and tastes like home-cooked food, sometimes.
I enjoy eating their karimeen and matti, although I've been served weird fish once. Last few times the experience has been good.
Craving for some authentic kerala cuisines? This os one of the easy options available in the locality. Ordered a Fish Moilee with Kerala Parotta. Must say, the dish made my day. Might not be the dish for someone who doesnât like the taste of coconut milk. Ghee Roast Chicken tasted decent. Could have been a little less spicy. Would visit the place again to try the other dishes.

P.S: Cutlery needs some cleaning, especially the glasses.
Good authentic Kerala food. Amazing non veg and veg options. Personally recommend their Kerala meals, appams, porottas, and biriyanis. Their sea food is delightfully too. Ambiance is very different, dim lights and calm music. Love going there. The place is clean but the only and main problem I have found going there for the last few years was that their cook seems to change in certain days and so does the taste of the dishes which is sad. And they used to have a policy where they were not open on Sundays which is another bummer glad to see that had changed. But I'll recommend this place for Kerala food any day. Best option in Hsr.
Pretty good Kerala Restaurent.
Must try :
1) Coconut Beef fry. This is generally there as their today special item. This goes very well with Kerala parota or meals.
2) Netholi fry
3) Kerala parota with Chicken roast. Nice combo
Normal veg Meals is good enough and you can order some non veg curry with it.
Non-veg meals is ok.
too much corn flour in the chilli chicken. but fried rice is too good
I have the same rotation of food every time I go here and Iâve loved them every time . The place loses a star because it has a damp smell ( maybe all that wood?) and itâs quite dark during the day time.
Must haves:
Kozi Varutharacha with Kerala Parota
Chicken stew with Appam
Chicken lollipop ( a strange choice for a Kerala restaurant but I love it!)
Well, what would you say, if you get an amazing sleep after having a delicious meal? You say, you Burpppps ...
The place that redefines Kerala food.
This is the place to be to ensure ur Malayali taste buds have a feast!! The meal is great! The beef roast is my pick on the menu! The service is a tad bit slow..but the food and experience makes up for it!! The ambience is very authentic Kerala! Would be great to see a few chef specials which would be different weekly just to get an extra kick of the spices and delicacies!
awesome food but the price is little higher
A good nice Kerala food.
How authentic, I'm not the right person to comment. I'll leave it on my Malayali friends to decide.
But definitely tasty and mouth watering food.
Good, neat and clean interior and soothing ambiance.
Not much crowded.
Authentic Kerala restaurant. Especially good for Kerala style food including fish and chicken. Their appam and chicken stew or roast is my favorite. Try different varieties of fish like karimeen pollichathu, Ayala fry etc. Lighting can be improved, it's dark inside and it makes it difficult while eating fish. The ambience is good and you feel that you are inside traditional Kerala nalukettu
I found this restaurant on Swiggy and was happy to know that itâs authentic Kerala restaurant and I went ahead and ordered Kerala meals and egg curry and parathas! Trust me it was really really good and tasted to perfect on a Monday afternoon! Am sad to see that this restaurant has so much negative reviews! I would surely re order the food from this place again since it is close to my house in HSR and I really loved the food you guys served me though it was a delivery it tasted fresh and good!
delicious and well packed
On a friday afternoon, our office gang decided to visit this place. To start with, I ordered the conventional cuisine of Kerala 'the appams' and accompanied them with veg stew. Though the place is meant for sea-food, I couldn't take the chance being an eggatarian. I think, those were the best appams I had in a while winning over my last Kochi experience.
The appams were extremely soft & light, provoking to order more. Tried their egg appams too. They turned to be delicious. Then, followed with unlimited veg meal alongside an omelette for munching. I should say 'Yummy' and a happy tummy to start the weekend.
For the said Menu, weekday can be a best visit for better service and to be light on pocket. My experience was pleasant during weekday visits as I was paid enough attention.Otherwise, it gets crowded and offerings do get limited/change during weekend.
My friends tried some sea food delicacies and they enjoyed their meal too.
Only flaw and a turn-off was their air conditioning, not up to the mark. Inspite of informing them, the nature around us that day was no mood to cooperate since the staff could do nothing than accepting that it was not functioning properly!

Food tasted awesome, we enjoyed it. the masala taste is too good.
kumarakom is always good.
The food was decent and the ambience was like authentic Kerala style wooden furnitures was one of a kind experience. Had appam, Paratha, kumoraakom chicken curry, kadala curry. Appam stood out clearly, others were decent. If you were in the mood for appam would surely recommend this place.
Really a good place for fish items. Had karimeen mappas and ayala fry
Turned out to be good. The prawns biryani also turned out to be decent.
Eventhough the items were less what ever served was good.
It's a small restaurant and 1-2pm are peak hours
A small dim-lit diner with an old charm and Mollywood songs playing in the background. There wasnât much crowd. We were informed upfront that the food will take 15mins to be served, but it came pretty early. The Kerala Classics - Puttu, Appam and Kadala curry were authentic in taste and I really loved them. Veg stew was perfect in consistency. Overall - a must try experience for Kerala cuisine lovers.
Searched out this restaurant from Google and made a visit. Didn't get disappointed. We had their special meals which is a miNi sadya and Karimeen pollichathu. Both were good in taste. Only drawback I felt is with the masala of fish pollichathu. Masala was more than needed with pools of oil inside it. That can be improved. All curries provided with meals were good.
One of the best places for Kerala food. If you are looking for authentic Kerala Sadhya then Their meals is a must try. Apart from meals tried their fish curry and prawns roast. Fish is so delicious and prawns is okayish. Palada payasam was soooo yummy. You must visit this place for Kerala cuisines.
The new location is not very eye catching and looks less spacious. Food was average and nothing was out of the box. Overall it has jumped to the category of an average restaurant. However I would like to mention the cleanliness and their quick service which was really good.
This restaurant shifted to a new place in HSR now.We had Sadya , Karimeen pollichathu and meat fry here for lunch. Karimeen pollichathu and meat fry was good in taste but the Sadya was average.
Good service and staffs were well behaved &courteous .
Very tasty, authentic food.
Great and prompt service.
Ambience is casual dining.
We had lunch at Kumarakom restaurant, HSR layout todayMay 2024) . We had vegetarian, fish and chicken meals along with beef fry. As usual, we were not disappointed. The vegetarian items were sambar, pulissery, rasam, erissery, chammanthi, pickle, pappadam and semiya payasam. Each item stood out with that inherent Kerala taste. Service is also very good - prompt and polite without too much fanfare. A very pleasant experience .
Small and quaint place serving authentic Kerala food at very reasonable prices. The portions are generous and service is excellent.
The only drawback is lack of parking space, for which customers will have to look in the adjoining bylanes.
Place specialising in Kerala dishes. Meat Coconut Fry is good. But I found the pricing to be slightly on the higher side for the taste in general.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was an absolute delight..and I particularly enjoyed the meat roast, which left me craving for more.I can't wait to visit again soon!
One of the restaurants we are closely attached to especially due to the ambience and quality of food. Relaxing environment with good service. We have been regulars to the restaurant for ~ 10 years.
After corona season first time visiting newly relocated kumarakom restaurant. Compared to old place new place have less seating arrangement. I really wondered what happened to the kumarakom which was working in a vast space. Anyway food quality was good.Veg meals was tasty with two types of payasam.
One of the good Kerala food hotel HSR layout..... Bangalore
