This is a very old eatery of Jayanagar. But nostalgia has not misled me into giving this place a top-notch rating. I have started eating here over the past 5 years only. The idlis are soft and wonderful with their sambhar. But the Dose are truly splendid. 2 of them are enough to give one a very full stomach. The Masala is tasty as is the Dosa which has the right amount of ghee in it. I have also had the Rava dose and the set Dose here. Rava is not something I enjoy but my mom does. She testifies to it being well made here. For these reasons, we visit this place very regularly for breakfast and also take food home for lunch.
Yet, at the same time, I would like to add a rider. We always have eaten only the South Indian food here. So I cannot comment upon the nature of other food here. We also always eat standing outside, which has its own charm in the morning.
If you enjoy Dose in the morning with some filter coffee, you should certainly visit this place!
This place is value for money💰 ...
Those who love to have the South Indian food & north food..
I had fruit juice, pulav which are really good and I felt it’s very delicious..
A nice restaurant which provides some quality food but it's a very old restaurant with not much of improvisation in the service nor the decor or the ambience.
I had visited this place almost 7 years back but when I go back to this place revisiting the memory lane again..I find that it has not changed at all be it the decor, ambience, taste, pricing also hasn't changed alot.
I had ordered masala papad, soup and Gobi chilly for the starters.
Tomato soup : It tasted just perfect having the right consistency taste but the quantity was too less as the soup tasted that good.
Masala papad : Mixture of onion n tomato on a fried papad with a pinch of lemon and decorated with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Again full score to this.
Gobi chilly : What amused me is the fact that they provided toothpick along with the dish and such is the old school they are still in nonetheless the taste was right on point.
Later on for the main course we ordered plain Roti and veg Kolhapuri. Initially the roti which was given to our table was made on prior and was not hot at all hence had to send back the Roti to get it exchanged to freshly made one's. Veg Kolhapuri was not bad either.
Finally ordered a biryani and a curd rice as we wanted to finish the lunch abit on the heavier side.
Biryani : The rice was overly cooked but the Aroma, taste was just like how it was 7 years back. Every grain of rice would have the flavour of the rice it was that deliciously marinated.
Curd rice : Quantity was too less but the taste was outstanding. Our lunch just ended perfectly with this.

Nice place to dine with close once with moderate prices. Tastes good. The seatings are not so great and the staff too. But the food is yummm and hygienic
This restaurant provide sounth Indian dish as well as some North snacks test is good and the price is not that much high.its worth to try here if you are hungry
Okay. Been there when I was a kid. My mom used to love this place a lot. So much that before my brother was born she had to eat idly vada sambar from here (this was in 1999). They had the best idly vada sambar, dosas and badam halwa.
Badam halwa was to die for.
Good old days!!
Recent times the taste has changed and we don’t go there any more.
"My rating is for the older times.”
A quick eat place, haven't tried much except idly and dosa. Idly and dosa are tasty and value for money.
Ambience is poor, have to stand and eat.
VFM place near to famous cool joint in Jayanagar. You will get budget meal which is price below 50 rs. If your broke if you want to have tummy full meal lunch this is the best place. Lunch time this restaurant is crowded . They have hat corner also. Try if you like rice meals when you are near to jayanagar
One of the old hotels located in Jayanagar 4th block .Normal south Indian and north Indians food available.
Taste is OK but not great.Seating arrangements are good.If your in around Jayanagar 4th block u can visit this place.

This place I got to know because of a college reunion. I must say it's pocket friendly and food is delicious. They have a good variety for vegetarians and services are fast. I am glad to know about this place and will visit it soon. They have cheapest lunch available which was just amazing. I must say that this place is over to try.
Best of the restaurants in the town.. great place for a dinner date or just hanging out.. the food served is of great quality.. the price is worth it.
It used to be one of the best restaurants in jayanagar 4th block. However now the taste has come down. The price is still reasonable. The masala dosa and coffee makes a good combination though!
One of the best place to enjoy Veg food in jayanagar.Don't miss out to try Tomato soup, Chilly panner, Mushroom manchurian.Try out Kaaju Special curry for roti/khulcha.Loved Litchi shots dessert and Apple lime juice.
Food-4.5 Ambiance-3.5 Service-4
I loved this place. We had the north Thali and the south thali. The south thali was really good. The ambience was good too. And the sweet lasso was too good.
This review is solely for the "Bangarpet chat" - masala puri and pani puri.
The pani punnily looks like clear water and is served in a small plastic glass, and it tastes so different! It's light on masala unlike the pani you get at most places and is extremely yummy. Note that you won't get a refill of pani if you throw away the glass :p
The masala of the masala puri is thick and tastes differently nice.
A must-try place for both these items if you're anywhere in Jayanagar 4th block. Will go back and try the other chats soon!
This is south Indian restaurant you find in Jayanagar 4th block. The south Indian meals are so tasty. The coffee was very tasty indeed. Worth a try for only coffee lovers.
Used to visit often there for filter coffee.. One of the best place in bangalore to have filter coffee . Just now find time to review about it

I was told Pavithra has been around for a long time and all the people I knew warned me against missing the coffee place at the entrance. I had ordered the North thali and it was a good experience. The staff were really courteous given the time we had spent there. No complains with the bill.
Now, you really can't scale such a place, given its memories. Do come in for a good veg experience. I was really full, had already had a tea and still enjoyed the coffee down there, thats something
Reviewwww!!
I had visited this place sometime back for a late dinner. The restaurant was almost empty (may be coz it was quite late)... this made me quite skeptical about quality of the food.. we took a table in 1st floor..
Coming to what we ordered:
1. North Meals: the food was good, with quite a few variety and couple of desserts..
2. Baby corn manchurian: Quite spicy, served hot... excellent.. this is one of the best manchurian I had in sometime... recommended..
3. Jeera Rice: again spicy... the rice was good..not too oily at all.. jus nearly perfect...
Overall if u r looking for veggie dinner, visit this... u won't be disappointed.. the staff was courteous... considering the time we went in, the food quality (barring the spice), and staff, it's quite a recommendable place.. for veggies..

DISCLAIMER: This rating is purely for the Awesome Cothas Coffee they have been serving outside the hotel for years now.Simply in love with the coffe the guy serves in the outlet just outside the restaurant. He has been so consistent in making those awesome coffees for years now and he has never failed to please us! Kudos to you guruve.. keep up your good work!Otherwise, the restaurant has lost its charm long time back. There isnt anything special that draws the Jayanagar crowd these days, though we used to frequent this place for its awesome Idly-vada-sambhar and Navarathan Kurma with masala Kulcha once upon a time :(
Pavithra is one of the old time resturants in jayanagar. i like the north indian food here. the curries are exceptionally good and very different which you eat in other part of the city which are more spicy and masala oriented. if one visits Pavithra try north indian over south indian.
Always a reliable place for a quick bite or a family meal. Have been a regular

A place where I usually go for dining North/South Indian Cuisines when I'm around Jayanagar 4th block. Good taste not as good as earlier days when my family used to party for several occasions.
the ancient history of this restaurant unknown i wud like to tell abt the bangatpete chats here...the chats they provide in a small paper plate is just not enough to relinquish ur craving taste buds which certainly ll demand for an encore...its a totally different experience from the routine chats u wud hv in any other place...try the white pani...anyone n everyone will like it :)
I have heard its one of the oldest restraunt in Bangalore, which makes me to visit this place. The look of the restraunt from inside is 80's. Furniture were old but nonetheless food is awsome here. Its mainly famous for south indian cuisine but one can order from chaats to maincourse. We orderd malai kofta, dal palak, rotis and jeera rice and evrything was delicious. Its a must visit place for veg lovers.
Have frequented this restaurant for about 2 years and never tried anything in the serviced hall section. Probably my college-goer's pocket money wasn't friendly enough then :-P but was fairly good enough to try out all the dishes in the self service area in the ground floor. There's plethora of options available for a quick bite, albeit the preparation time taken by the chef.
Idly vada sambar is perfect breakfast before heading into classes early morning. Onion dosa and rava dosa are crispy and tasty. Open butter masala dosa is another delicacy which is quite popular. Alternate south dishes are pongal and rice bath for each day. During lunch there would be pulav with raitha and bisibelebath with boondi. Fantastic combos, both being just right for getting taste and quantity. During evenings there'd be one thing that's irresistible - cold badam milk. Wow, what a drink. Really a must try.
This place is another golden egg laying goose being situated near a college and corporate institutions.
This is one of the old restaurants that i used to visit nearly a decade back... recently caught up with my school buddies.. I tell you the ambiance is still the same. service is still the same. Its a mediocre restaurant but give it a try during off peak times... Both north Indian and south Indian menu is good.
I remember going out for lunch with my family to this restaurant, one of the oldest in jayanagar that had the best north Indian food and worth the money. Good ambience, good food and decent service.

Been visiting this place from almost 7 yrs.. But it was sometime since I last went there.. Actually they have stopped serving North Indian / A la carte orders in their first floor Service Hall.. So, This time we tried the only available South Indian Buffet.. Poori, Pulav, Rice, Rasam, Sambar, Mysore Pak.... Felt like home food.. Tummy Fulll..
You get all types of South Indian, North Indian, Tandoori items here. The food taste is very good. Prices are a bit higher
