One of my favourite places to visit in the city when I have quality company with me. This place has one of the best ambiences of all. The music is very faint and the lighting is very dim. Yet the place is totally open and any of the perimeter tables gives you a good outdoorsy view yet the centre of the lounge is rather well set with indoor lightings. What I loved most about this place is how peaceful was the ambience and the class of people that were there. It’s not everyday in Bangalore you get to see people on every table at their best behaviour. The place is such that it appeals only to such type of people and you don’t get to see any of them loud mouthed fake pretentious people around here making things uncomfortable for everyone around. I have been here on a couple of occasions and there was always happy hour going on beers / brandies and most kinds of alcohol. The food is also extremely delicious and really hits the spot. This is the full package and every time I plan to meet a friend or two with whom I would like to have a long and quality conversation over dinner and alcohol, this will hands down be the first place on my list.
This place is very close to my house and a perfect venue for unplanned meetups. decent food and drinks at a very reasonable price. The best thing about this restaurant is its open, tables are not very close and it's airy. Perfect for a breezy evening.
Good place for hanging out with friends ..good service.. staff is friendly .. nice food .. I have been frequent to this restaurant but every time it was good great experience.
These guys have been around for a while. Bit old school in terms of ambience and menu but still likable. Food served is of good quality and they have a good choice of liqours. Service is good. Tried veg starters and basa fish ginger fry and was really nice. Big fillets and serving sizes are good. Big screen avaiable on match days.
One of those local jewels where you go out on a boys night out.
You can smoke here and the tables have quite a distance between them so you don't have to bother about "the volume".
One of those places where the starters is good and a plate of most vegetarian and egg starters can serve three.
Don't miss the scrambled egg, egg fried, kichidi, Gajjar Ka halwa and gulab jamun here.
The kichidi is special here especially after a few rounds of old monk.

A mix of group went with high hopes and for everyone this place was first visit.
For Veg.. I ordered Paneer starter.. and then noodles and veg fried rice.
The food was average.. Definite place to come and be lazy.
Have been to this place couple of times with colleagues..While the primary reason is their Happy Hours offer before 8.30 pm on the other 2 reasons are definitely the ambience and good service for both food and drinks..They allow smoking which is an added advantage..Since the place is quite big and their is distance between two tables..
The staff is very courteous and helpful..They inform their customers 15 mins in advance for their last order of Happy Hours and you can block more drinks during the last order:)
We generally have green salad,egg chilli, boiled egg and chicken as starters which is quite decent..Try anything in main course but you must end with Gajar ka halwa..Its quite yummy..
Highly recommended if you want to enjoy your drink with friends in a nice cozy ambience (feels like you are sitting in a club) at affordable rates!
Came here after a looooong time. Well if you look at this place from outside you will feel it to be a regular place serving alcohol with nothing to expect but things are different when you actually see the ambience. It's an open place with enough space over looking the trees. The staff is really courteous and on their toes to make the experience good. Was here on a Saturday afternoon extremely hungry and beer thirsty. So directly moved to the main course. Ordered a chicken biryani and to my amusement the taste was mind blowing. And the quantity was generous for the price they quote. Definitely will be coming back for an in depth look of their menu.

Was here for a party and food was actually good. And lime soda was perfect khatta, namkeen and meetha.. hahaha. I liked it.
Naan was soft unlike other places.
Staff was polite but a little slow.. may be because of the lazy sunday afternoon.
Ambiance is average and could have better kept. It's open from sides 3 sides on rooftop. Very spacious and gives a warm feeling.
Haven't tried any drinks their, but sure a good places to hangout with your buddies if somewhere near ulsoor .

Terrance lounge with nice ambience. Richly cooked food customized as per you taste buds and almost all beers and scotch available. You will not hear them saying No that they don't have it. People attending you are also polite and courteous. Overall a perfect after office or once in a week space just to relax and enjoy.
If you are looking to have a pleasant evening, with tasty food and music to go with your mood, RETRO lounge bar is the place to be. The ambience is just right. Niether too loud nor too subtle. The staff is very courteous and the time spent here, will make you want to visit again. It's reasonably priced with interesting cocktail mixes. Just the place to be when you want to relax.
Visited this place for the first time for a office party. Food is really awesome. service staff are very cordial and capable of handling big groups. With Happy hours, alcohol is really reasonable and pocket friendly. overall a very nice experience. guys..!! you doing great job. keep it up...!!!

Visited this place twice and had a good time. The attitude and service of staff makes you feel like stay for longer.

It was my friends last day at work and we had been to Retro Lounge bar for a drink. Loved the French fries and Paneer pakoda!(must try)
Beer was served cold and we had very little for dinner Veg biriyani, chicken biryani was high on spices and tasty.. The overall experience was good! For a treat like that and roof top-price we paid was worth it all!
Located in the second floor of the building. Good for a weekday get together. It would be crowded n noisy during weekends. Nice ambience. Dim lighting. Light music. Perfect place for a perfect dinner with drinks. Open ambience would gently push some breeze on your face. But that allows mosquitos come through n disturb you. They use mosquito coils in the evening. The smell of the coil would spoil the mood at times. This is the major drawback here. Management should do something to overcome this. Coming to the food, they have decent varieties at reasonable price. Chicken platter is our favorite. Chinese items are good. North Indian dishes are not that great though.
Happy hours from 6.30-8.30 in the evening. They offer decent discount on drinks during these hours. Can give a try. See

This place is amazing..with beautiful ambiance..A perfect place to chill out with buddies..Its our favourite birthday celebration adda..Love the lounge seating with old all time favourites songs playing in the background..:-)
About the food..First time we went we ordered tandoori chicken.., pepper prawns..chicken biryani..The first time we liked only the tandoori chicken which was ten on ten..other food was bland..there was no salt.. lacked taste may be chef was in bad mood..!!
But after that everytime we visited the food was just lip smacking..our all time favourites are mixed tandoori chicken platter, mixed fried rice nd french fries..The quantity they serve is good..
Every time we order prawns we end up disappointed as hardly few prawns will be there nd dish lacks flavour..Better not to order prawns here..
The french fries at this place is just mindblowing never satisfied with one plate..:-)
Overall nice place with beautiful ambience..Its a place with value for money..Just needs to improve on the seafood..
Open air huge location, the prices are relatively cheap and the food is good. Service is kind of slow and can be improved.
They play music but not too loud, depending your mood and preference you might or might not like that.
Our one time favorite place for afternoon parties. Never found it too crowded. And very friendly staff never stopped service even after there closing time of 3. Even served us at 5:30 when there opening time was 6:30.

Great joint for a weekend binge with old friends. Surprisingly accommodative to a family crowd too..a rooftop resto bar with all sides open. The service staff are prompt and friendly a tad slow with service though ..even with a low crowd density. They are courteous enough to give families a smoke free corner! If you are in mood for few drinks and sides alone stick to the tandoori chicken/tikka items. Prawn pepper is a pleasant exception. I admire the waiter for being honest about the(lack of) freshness of the prawns..he admitted that they use frozen prawns. Not diplomatic about the facts at all. And we ordered it ..absolutely no regrets- Perfectly cooked prawns tossed in mildly spicy sauce, other orders in the cast included lemon chicken , chicken tikka and masala pappad, salads and chicken fried rice. Biryani is a let down here and so are the gravies. But hey the easy going open air ambience makes up for all the shortcomings! And did I mention a whopping 50% off on drinks between 6.30-8.30 pm everyday including weekends?
Started going to ruchi the restaurant below, for their biriyani and green chilli chicken which I would say is one of the best in bangalore. So obviously had to go to retro whwn they opened the place, love the roof top ambience good breeze and surrounded by trees, the cocktails and splendid nothing to complain about lived their ford earlier so love the starters here and snacjs with the drink definetely one of the better local hangouts in bangalore and pocket friendly.;-)

I have been visiting this place for around 10 years now and have lot of good memories with my friends when I used to stay at Indiranagar.
Probably one of the first restro terrace lounge for me at Bangalore, this place has a decent ambiance and suited for friends , couples and families.
It is situated on terrace on top and a floor below there is a dining restaurant.
Though service is average and food is decent but I always liked for its nostalgic value. I last went there around 9 months ago but will soon visit it again next year.

Another place to hangout when wallet is sick. Happy hours everyday with reasonable menu. Liquors cheap, sides quite costly, wanna listen music? this is not you looking for. Talk n Drink!!!
This is one of the places I visit very often. Less noisy, spacious, open air, courteous n friendly staff. Food is really good compared to other eateries around this locality. Drinks are a little expensive. I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends.

You can never expect such a nice place at this location. Association with Ruchi makes it more confusing to be true.
It is blessed with an open air dining area with a little greenery on either side of the restaurant.
Food is amazing whether it is tandoori chicken, mutton raada or dal makhani no compromise has been done.
Service is no less either. Everybody is quite professional.
Mosquitoes are of little concern...please do something for it.

A decent bar cum restaurant located a few feet away from Ulsoor Police station. The top floor is an open terrace with ample space to chill out with a bunch of freinds and drinks. The first floor has an A/C restaurant by name Ruchi.
The service may get delayed in the bar area but its prompt inside the restaurant. You can easily gulp few pitchers watching fav cric match in all over the LCD TVs set up there.
Food is good with a bit of Karnataka flavor to it. Quality is ok and matches the rates they charge. There are also options for customization.
Suitable place for family dining as well as for a chill out party. Worth visiting in Ulsoor.
Great hangout venue to catch up with friends. Food is good, drinks are very affordable and the rooftop is almost an open air experience, allowing one to enjoy the Bangalore weather. It's not a super upscale place, but is great as a regular outdoor venue

Its a very nice place to hang out with friends for a drink. Its not closed on the sides, on the roof. had gone there with a group of friends.
Food: Food was good. We had kabab platters, some north Indian chicken preparation, naans and rotis. For desserts we had gajar ka halwa and gulab jamun.
The kabab platter was very nice, well done kababs, juicy as well. the chicken preparation was decent enough. Dal was quite nice as well. the gajar ka halwa was however a bit too sweet. The gulab jamun was better, was still a bit too sweet.
Ambiance: the place is open on all sides, so it gets a bit chilly on cold and rainy days, when there is a strong wind. The place is adequately lit, with LCD screens here and there, but mainly near the bar counter. Sofas in the center are also present. the dining tables are on the side opposite the bar. the area is huge. spacious and comfortable. nice place to sit and talk if u like the open environment. No loud music either. have to climb two storeys via stairs.
Prices : Pretty decent prices. we hogged so much and yet the bill was not exorbitant.
Service: the waiters were cooperative, but it took some time for the food to come. subsequent orders also took some time, apart from the rotis.
Quality of the food is nice. well cooked and tasty. Only desserts were a bit too sweet.
Overall, a very nice place to hang around and hog, and good value for money.
Went there on a Tuesday night for a couple of drinks but ended up sitting there till closing time. The drinks are cheap and the snacks were not so pricey and tasted alright. The place hardly had 25-30 people that night.
We even had our dinner there n it was good as well even though it was just rotis n chicken tikka masala. When we had drinks left at 1140 the waiters were kind enough to fill it in a bottle for us. Will definitely go back, not sure why the other reviews are so bad
