**This place serves Jain main course dishes**
I ordered Paneer Butter Masala, Kaju Masala (Jain), Kulcha, Roti and Laccha Parantha.
The menu is a bit expensive but the taste is good and the Laccha Paranthas are what one should aim for rather than Roti / Kulcha while ordering online as the Laccha Parantha is still chewable but not the same case with the other two.
KAJU MASALA (Jain) was really good though!
This is a great place to try not only south Indian dishes, but also you can try different north Indian dishes as well. Table dosa might be a good option to try, or Pav-Bhaji here is also very delicious.
My comfort place to try out South Indian breakfast. Menu is bit pricey as compared to others but taste is great. They should reboot the place soon.
Nothing spectacular. Good hygienic food. Fast and friendly service. Value for money. We did not go here expecting 5 star experience. This place gets the job done.
In banagalore you will find sagar restuarant wjere ever you go. This chains of outlet which serves pure veg only.
Ambience is old classic one. Its a pure karanataka style restaurant. You will get authentic karanataka meals.
Had breakfast here with a friend, visiting the place after almost 9 years and neither the place nor the food have changed. All items breakfast items on the menu are good and serve their purpose of providing you with a good cost effective South Indian breakfast the coffee is good and is worth a special mention.
Ah! My South Indian favorite for years now, I happened to visit last weekend after a long time.
Thumbs up for maintaining the same standards when it comes to taste, service, and quality.
We had a North Indian Thali along with Ghee Rice and Kaju Masala. Loved the food. It was mouth watering. And this is one destination where the Kaju Masala tastes out of the world.
For the uninitiated, there is an AC Hall and a normal seating area, plus a darshini below, each depicting various forms of luxury and the same food priced accordingly.
5 stars for authentic South Indian food.
They have two sections. Below one is the non ac one and above section is ac. Service is prompt, food is delicious.
Paper masala dosa. Huge dosa with amazing taste.
And taste of filter coffee can’t be compared. It’s outstanding.
Average place to have south indian food. Won't burn a hole in your pocket. Try the cheese dosa. Good place for nearby office staff and localities.
Good Food in minimal expense
Food takes a while to come out of the kitchen though but guess it's worth the wait!!
Self service restaurant, minimal human interference.
Food tastes amazing!!
Good luck team
We went to this place so many times. The food is tasty, easy on the pocket, good in variety and the staff is really polite too.
Its a good place to eat if you want too much for too little.
This is the only darshini(snacks place where u stand and eat) that you ll find Inn this area. They serve all South Indian and some North Indian food. I usually have curd rice or dosa. Gets crowded in afternoons. It is pretty cheap and food quality is good which is difficult to find these days in Darshinis
Fancy-looking place with your average Indian veg food. Gets really busy at lunchtime. South Indian mini-meal is actually quite a lot of food ... so many pooris!
I usually order in from this place so I can't say much about the ambience etc. But as far as the food goes, i've never really been disappointed. Their Sambhar could really use a revamp though. I'm one of those typical north Indians who could eat idly for breakfast lunch and dinner and this place has helped me with my rice cravings a lot!
Sunday calls for a simple but scrumptious breakfast and what better place to enjoy it than this one. We have come here earlier and will keep coming as the food is fresh and tasty. We ordered for Idli and Medu Wada. The idlis were light and fluffy served right out of the steamer. I recommend you try the thick coconut chutney instead of the runny one. You need to make a special request for it but it seriously lifts the taste of the dish. The Medu Wada (though not warm) was freshly prepared and was rightly spiced. They provide free refill of the chutney and sambhar. This is one of the few restaurants where you can close your eyes and point your finger on the menu and take my word for it, whatever the order, it will be yummy.
If you ever visit this place then try out paneer kurma with butter Kulcha. It's totally heavenly. Best place to sit in this restaurant is on the first floor.
Had a meal( North Indian and Dosas ) here quiet a few times . Easy on wallet , nice on taste and ambiance .
best things I found here :-
1. kaju curry
2. paneer butter masala
3. Open dosa
I have even got Catering done from this place for over 100 people. I wasn't disappointed at all. They have the best possible north-indian menu at a reasonable price range. Our guests departed with nice taste on their tongues and delighted stomachs :)
off all the sagars in Bangalore I think this is the best one.
their Rava dosa & Idly is quite good.
Quick service and pocket friendly, can drop in for a quick bite anytime.
New Shanthi Sagar...I come here often to grab idli's from the self service counter in the basement and like the food made the local style. For the first time, we came to have proper food and that too with family.
We ventured into the aircondtlitioned section upstairs. ambience is a bit dark but decent contemporary style decor. This is the kind of place that reminds me of the budget restaurants I always visited in Delhi.
Service - lazy Sunday afternoon just one waiter, super efficient and good at multitasking. Very quickly all tables filled in and he was smart to get a couple of more guys to help. He was prompt to take Order and food arrived quickly.
Taste - we ordered dosa's and rava Idli. Good quality served with chutney and Sambhar. Minus my dislike for the Sweet Sambhar, food was nice and chutney had good content. We also decided to try Palak paneer and naan and we're definitely impressed.
Overall - recommend to visit and try it out. Not very expensive for a regular fare. Definitely a fine dining experience for an average Indian.
Let me first put it straight.... Punjabi food in a south Indian restaurant.... just too good... let me put it in points...
1. Taste - excellent... don't compare it directly with some authentic Punjabi... but overall 4.5 stars
2. Portions - i need to pen it down for records as it has exceptional portions.. really notable.
3. Ambience - probably this is my visit after a decade to this place... its the same. I mean there is ample scope for improvement.
lastly... service was good... also don't forget to try their falooda.. good stuff...
Nice to be with friends n family too...
What can one say about this staple? While they claim to have North Indian, South Indian, Continental and Chinese I would stick to the South Indian stuff. I rediscovered the joy of the special cheese masala dosa. The combination of melty amul cheese, crispy dosa and hot spicy sambar is magical. This is one of the most satisfying dishes and reminds me of my childhood.
The rava onion dosa was delicious as well. Crispy mesh with the flavors of green chili, sautéed onions and cumin. The sagu served with it was really tasty and did not have the overwhelming dalchini (cinnamon) flavor that most places put.
The vada was huge and crisp on the outside with a nice sponginess on the inside. The best part was that it was served hot and fresh and fast to appease our intense hunger.
The filter coffee with an extra tumbler to cool it in was just the right thing to end the meal.
I don’t go here often but ever so often but when I crave something from here nothing else will do.
Food- 4/5
Service- 4/5
Ambiance- 3/5
Price- 4/5
One d best upma...or khara bath I've ever had...used to hv it everyday of my hospitalization for a month
Just for d feel.....try eating at d ground floor ..standing
These guys were my source of sustenance for a year. The waiters are great, the ambience is so so but there are two reasons why you should go here.
1. The South Indian food.
2. The early breakfast timings.
I recommend all the South Indian dishes and their North Indian sabjis are fantastic. Everything is fresh, sometimes things are a tad bit too oily but that's ok. Assuming you, unlike me, don't dwell with oil in a daily basis.
They haven't, however, learned how to make chaat items too well yet. So I would stay away from that.
They are always open by 7 am and that's the second reason I love this place. Food is fresh and the coffee's fantastic. And especially great when you need to down something. The alternative doesn't exist either. So go here to get great indian vegetarian food. Go in the weekends to be surrounded by 1000's of families. Go here to get amazing breakfast at unearthly times. Stay there for the friendly service.
Spicy food but really like it. Cant eat there, take away and enjoy! Huge butter paranthas and butter naans!
