This restaurant is very economical for quick breakfast. Service is quick as well as food is tasty. Price is very reasonable like 30 Rs for idli plate. They serve hot and fresh breakfast. Worth try for South indian dishe lovers like upma masala dosa idli vada sambar.

Located opp Martha's hospital, this is a boon for people craving a good breakfast. The idli was super soft and complimented with tasty chutney and sambaar, but the show stopper was the Vada. Crisp on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside - easily one of the best I've eaten in over 40 years of breakfasts all over South India. Perfectly balanced filter coffee to top it off.
Totally recommended !

Tucked in the old world charm of Bengaluru... This garden restuarant lives up to Perfect old world ambience of Garden restaurants... The endangered ones now existing. The menu is a bit on the up for pricing but the Quality is reasonable. Timings work basically for working people and visitors from the commissioners office. The Parota and Chana masala sells like hot cakes. Dosas are super crisp and try the Open Dosa and Rava onion dosa. The Chinese was once a seller but now lost its charm. A restuarant with a separate eating section and service section (charges are significantly higher though). And endangered breed of hotels soon disappearing , so you can visit for a decent south Indian fare.

Pocket friendly Restaurant. Ambience and seating is very good. Open ambience and outdoor seating. Can find all the government officers here in the lunch time. Usually crowded in afternoon.
Ordered Bele obbattu, chole bhatura, akki and ragi rotti , bisibele bath and puri saagu .
Their bele obbattu is extra ordinary , it's very sweet and aroma of the obbattu is spread all over the restaurant.
And they are famous for preparing chole bhatura , it's just yummy and no words. Akki and ragi rotti also tasted good. Their red Chutney served with rotti's taste fantastic. Bisi bele was served hot , as it's name says. Overall a very good restaurant for lunch and a quick bite in the evening.
To add on: Please forget the concept of vehicle parking here , no parking is allowed as it's situated right opposite to bangalore city commissioner of police office. Should park vehicle in some where far away and should visit. If your working place is near by then it's well and good. Easily accessible to vidhan soudha, cubbon park and Cunningham road ( Avg 5 mins walk) .

So we came here today for lunch, man I must say this place is super packed, it took us almost 20 mins to get a table. This is a pure veg restaurant.

I ordered the holige roti (sweet roti) which was really good, had some ghee over it.
Ordered the akki roti - this was very filling and satisfying. Really good food.

The bise bile baat was nice, quantity was a little less. But yes after eating so much I guess it was fine.

The service inspite of being full was pretty decent, orders took about 8mins.
A little expensive for these kind of dishes.

Another calm, laid back Bangalore flavoured destination. Oozing with nostalgia. Perfect stop over for thindi, quick bites, chats and stellar coffee. Thatte idlis recently introduced fare well too. Talked about for its famous dosas, melting Channa batura and popular meals during noontime. Super efficient staff, no fuss service make it a big hit with office goers in the vicinity. Lives up to my friends quirky theory that a restaurant that's situated smack opposite the Police Commissioners Office can't dare go wrong on basics. Oh yes, must tell you.. this is the only modest food joint, serving noteworthy fare along the whole stretch that curves in from Raj Bhavan all the way to the next signal at coffee board.

I used to be a regular visitor at Nisarga Garden about 5 years ago, when I used to work in the vicinity. There would be frequent quick breakfast stops at this place, and an occasional lunch as well. I remember I used to be a big fan of the South Indian-style breakfast here - especially their vada sambar and bisi bele bath. I remember I wasn't that enamoured, back then, by their lunch menu - items like noodles, chapati kurma, gobi manchurian, South Indian thali and the likes. Their piping hot, straight-off-the-stove obattu used to be glorious, though.

Very recently, the husband and I stopped by at Nisarga Garden for breakfast after years, for old times' sake. We weren't disappointed. The bisi bele bath was lovely, as it used to be - I would say it is one of the best I've sampled in Bangalore. The masala dosa we ordered was okay, but then I've never much liked the thick dosas that are staple in many Bangalore restaurants. The sambar wasn't great either - I remember it used to be just beautiful back then, with a hint of sweetness to it. It was over 12.30 pm when we visited, so I am guessing the sambar was the one they serve with the lunch thali, not the one they usually have with the breakfast dishes (this is just pure assumption, of course!). The ghee obattu was just as I remembered it from times past - absolutely beautiful.

I love the greenery that surrounds this place, the way it is always busy and buzzing with people, though it can be a pain to get a table sometimes. The prices are reasonable as well.

I'm already craving to go back here and decide if the other items on the breakfast menu are still unchanged in taste as well. :)

Situated a little close to my work place, it was the only option for tasty and decently priced south Indian delicacies.

Have always been here only for lunch. Some of my favorites and what you could try is the channa batura, rava masala dosa (if you have a good appetite, as the portion is little large), akki roti, ragi roti and masala dosa is tasty too. The open dosa with a generous sprinkle of chutney podi tastes great here. South Indian meals is a decent option as well.

They make obbattu/holige, served fresh and hot, not too sweet and tastes just perfect. They also have hot jamoons. If you have a sweet tooth, don't miss out on these.

Not too great on the ambience. One can make it for a quick lunch and does not always have seating space. Crowded during lunch hours and could expect some delay in getting your order, especially ones that are to be made instantly like dosas, roti's, etc

Nisarga

The word means Nature and in the Garden City on the busy street of Infantry Road, just opposite to Police Commissioner’s Office is the place which I am talking today.

Nisarga Garden Pure Veg - Yes this place has few very old trees 🌳 and greenery. But the people here are more green here with a bigger 💓 heart. This joint is a wonderful place for a snack and the strong coffee ☕️ of Bangalore which is served in the glasses 🥛 not cups. Happen to meet Prasanna Kumar who is the chaat specialist at this place and believe me he serves almost 150 chaat a day. I myself couldn’t stop for one so had another one, then another one and finally had 5 of them. You have all that yummy ones which you want - Pani Puri, Nippattu Masal Chaat, Samosa Chaat, Aloo Chaat, Dahi Puri, Sev Puri, Samosa and Aloo cutlet
It was amazing chatt’s
They also have these traditional holige which is like getting melted in my sweet tooth.
A forgotten place but still serving best chats - Thanks 🙏🏻 Prasanna

Food: Go here for the exceptional Bangalore Darshini style food and a few other preparations like Akki, Ragi Rotti, Puran Poli or Holigae etc.

Ambience and service – Basic seating. Service is unbelievably quick. Gets very crowded between 1 PM and 3 PM.

Food for two: Meal for two around 120 bucks.

Hygiene – 9/10.

Overall experience – 9.5/10.

Darshinis in Bangalore are a life savior for many of us. Good food, quick service, unpretentious pricing, has to be some of their USPs. Probably they are Bangalore’s answer to fast food joints which have branched out to India. Be it a Vada dunked in that piping hot Sambhar or that crisp on the outside and soft on the inside Dosa with a smear of that Red Chutney or that simple Curd Rice, it is hard to stop loving the food served by such joints. Nisarga Garden has to be the first among all the Darshinis as it scores better in terms of seating, variety to choose from, hygiene and relatively better taste.

This place has seating for about 120 people and that quintessential Darshini styled stand and eat kind of facility for about 30-40 people. The service section has most of the seating area. Hygiene is definitely taken care of and most of the kitchen is where you can see it. The kitchen is divided into segments and each side caters to one particular set of preparations. This place gets really crowded and noisy between 1PM and 3 PM. Though the service is impeccably quick and you might have to wait for some time to even find a place to stand and eat, leave alone seating.

There are many stars on their menu. From Akki Rotti to Bisibele Baath till the open butter Masala Dosa to probably Puran Poli or Holigae. It would be safe to say that you choose any South Indian preparation here and it will take some effort to not get impressed. The Parota was very well done and so was the Akki Rotti. They were toasted perfectly and the accompaniments complimented them very well. Specially the red chutney which came with the Akki Rotti. The Romali Roti meal was something out of the ordinary. The Romali was perfectly done. The Coffee has to be the icing on the cake after your meal. One word to describe it – unbeatable.

This is my usual breakfast or lunch point whenever I visit office of commissioner of police located right opposite to it. Even after decades of reformation in infantry road, this restaurant has managed to preserve its old charm.

AMBIANCE: It appears to me like a fusion of Daba and a south Indian restaurant. This restaurant remains cool without any artificial ventilation even during summer afternoons. This restaurant is cleverly developed around the trees and other vegetation in its vicinity. It has both self service and service wing. They have segregated every food divisions well which results in quick service.

SERVICE: it's too quick. Everyday afternoon it gets crowded, but thanks to their systematic and quick service, you never feel like you have waited too long. Their crowd management is too good.

FOOD: They do have Chinese, North Indian & South Indian cuisine. But so far I'm big fan of their south Indian breakfast. I love to nominate them to the list of best masala Dosa restaurants in Bengaluru. Masal Dosas topped with butter are too cispy and tasty in here. It's too close to the quality of CTR. Everytime I visit, I end up having minimum 2 dosas.
Apart from Masala Dosa, idli & Vada will be good. Even they are known for tastiest Malabar parotha, akki rotti, ragi rotti and the giant choala batura.

EVERYTHING ELSE: During day, it's a quick eat place and after evening it can be a great place for hangout. Pricing is decent and the hygiene has been maintained well in the restaurant. They do have dedicated two wheeler parking, but it might be difficult to find a space during afternoon.

FINAL VERDICT: Great food, cool ambiance & service in a flash... A must visit restaurant in the area.

An Absolute boon to the offices surrounding the place. Nisarga Garden not only serves yummy food but also quality stuff. The maddur vada they serve is out of the world, to go with it a cup of tea!! The staff are friendly and the place has still managed to retain the old bengaluru charm with its authentic south indian food. The best thing i like about the place is the lack of confined spaces. Do try the Maddur vada when you visit, and make sure your'e early because its over pretty soon.

This Restaurant is situated opposite to Police Commissioner's Office on Infantry road.. I frequent this place mainly because its close to my workplace and there are very few restaurants in the surroundings, with quick service..

PARKING: This place has a parking area which can accommodate few two wheels, Parking for four wheel can be a problem..

AMBIENCE: It is a single floor setup which has a service hall and a Self service section.. Ambience is very basic with basic chairs and tables, but place is kept clean.. The restaurant is very spacious and usually over crowded during lunch hours making it difficult to find a place to sit..

FOOD: They serve South Indian, North Indian and Chinese dishes.. Have tried few of their South Indian and North Indian dishes, which are good.. Dosas, Idli vada, parota, Alu parota are fast moving dishes.. Holige is good too..

SERVICE: Service though quick, depends upon the crowd.. Better to opt for self service during lunch hours.. Value for money..

Been here really often so almost everything on the menu is tested. Lunch is the busiest! To manage a place even at the self service section is tricky. The holige is a must try!! You can skip all the Chinese! The other sweets you can skip as well. Open dose, masala dose good. The ragi rotti and akki rotti added attractions (ask for less oil). Definitely for coffee (ask for less sugar). In the evenings too best to stick to the darshini snacks, the chats are not great but for the pav bhaji. The rumali roti and batura good, so with the Kerala parota. Skip the stuffed parota!

Who doesn't like a good South Indian breakfast? A Hot crisp masala Dosa with a dollop of butter? Or maybe some sweet Kesari Bhath soaked in ghee?

The Nisagara garden restaurant on Infantry road , seems to be famous for what they have to offer. This place is almost always packed with diners. Finding a seat for yourself might be quite a task. Don't be startled if you find yourself sharing a table with a stranger , it's a common sight here.

The open butter masala dosa is basically an open Dosa , coated with a good amount of spicy chutney powder , topped with aloo masala and a generous dollop of butter .

The Akki roti, Hollige ,Chola Batura and Open butter masala Dosa are the must try dishes here !

A very unassuming place, an oasis of calm and quiet amidst all the hustle and bustle. There's nothing fancy here so if you're looking for a semblance of ambience, turn away. It's got the most basic dishes - South Indian style tiffins, North Indian lunch items and South Indian meals, all for a very reasonable price. I definitely recommend the rumali roti during lunch time. It does get packed during lunch hour so come prepared to wait a bit. It's also a good spot for that afternoon 1-by-2 chai you crave!

I guess people see such places and tell this, the best of eateries go about their business with the least ado. This is a gem hidden in the heart of Bangalore. Go there and nowhere else if you are looking for authentic south indian fast food, their hobbat (pooran poli) is the best. Don’t be bothered to visit the place if you are looking for serene and calm ambience and refined service, it is a basic fast food joint with amazing food. This place is always on my list if I am passing anywhere close by. I also love their bisibelebath, very close to what is prepared at home.

Their akki roti, holige and Ragi rava dosa are awesome. I haven't found any other place in bangalore which serves such good akki roti and holige.
Word of advice:- if you plan to go there on a weekday then try to reach before 1 so that you can get a seat.
Another thing try to order everything in a single go. if you order multiple times then they will forget what you ordered and might miss some of your items.
Rest its economical and awesome.

“Do not miss the Hot Hollige (Puranpoli) at any cost if you go to Nisarga Garden!”

This is a general advice given by regulars recommending this place to others. And I was told the same by my cousin when we were scheduled to be having lunch there yesterday afternoon. Do not look for ambience here – it is purely quality food for which people come here!

Describing it in few words, it would say it was simply DIVINE! Lovely melt-in-the mouth Hollige is served with dollops of ghee and even to watch it being made there is a pleasure. Each person must have minimum 1 hollige– inspite of whatever else he plans to have or however heavy his meal is. Only then would he do complete justice to it. Yes it is indeed that good.

Nisarga Garden is situated in the busy Infantry road area surrounded by many offices and is super crowded during lunch time. It is a Huge place, with lots of option to eat while sitting as well as standing. The Chola Bhatura and the Kurma Parotta are quite popular and well made too. In fact, these two dishes, along with South Indian Meals are the most popular lunch options there. We finished our meal with the buttermilk which was nice and strong (with ginger and other few spices). Anything you order is served in really good quantity. The prices being so less are just another value added factor. It actually feels like a canteen serving food at really subsidized rates. Full marks on quality as well! Must visit!

Thanks Zomato team for adding the restaurant on my request .

What a hidden gem this place is, you can easily miss it But if you find it then you will be overwhelmed with everything this place has to provide.

The food at our workplace is really sad , Which in one sense is a good thing because it provides us the opportunity to try out different places around, But being in the middle of the city , there arent many cheap options around. So we stick to eating out only on fridays. :) . A colleague was telling us that he will take us to a place which is not heavy on the pocket and it provides lovely food. So yesterday was the day we all finally decided to explore the place.

Ambiance : This place is not about ambiance though , But still , its a huge canteen type of place which has enough seating space , But since there are lot of offices near by and i guess this is the cheapest place, its crowded if you go late. We got a nice place as we reached earlier than the usual lunch time. :)

Food :

OH THE FOOD :) , I hope you get the drift , We ordered the following ,
Akki roti
ragi roti
Puran poli
Rava idli
Rice idli
Butter milk and coffee

And of course, Large portions of it , because we were 6 people :)

Everything was so yummy , i was having akki and ragi roti for the first time and i was suprised how delicious they taste .And the puranpolis, Oh Wow , I was having such good puran polis outside for the first time , they were hot , right out of tawa , fresh . and just FABULOUS.

the idlis were good, Rava idli was not dry which i'm scared at many places. The sambhar was nice, the chutneys provided with Akki and Ragi roti were really good. I still can feel the taste of garlic chutney :)

We ordered so many puran polis, I think we ordered 6 of ' em , and all of us ate full one one :).

VFM : when the bill came and i was surprised :). All the delicious food for just 500 bucks, which is some 90 Rs per head with a full happy tummy , with ofcourse the healthy food :).

MUST TRY , if you are in this area then you really cant miss this place , The food is really authentic and delicious.

I recently dined at Nisarga Garden, and it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. This vegetarian restaurant exceeded all my expectations in every way. The ambiance was calming and inviting, with lush greenery all around. It felt like a hidden oasis in the city. From the appetizers to the desserts, the attention to detail and use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients were evident. The menu offered a wide range of options, from traditional favorites to creative, innovative dishes. The chef's talent in blending spices and textures was remarkable. I highly recommend trying their [mention a specific dish you enjoyed]. Portions were generous, and prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. Self service is preferably best if you need the food quickly available to you. Other aspect of self service is the billing is also different . Pricing is little expensive if table service is preferred . Excellent dosa Vada idly rumali roti akki roti ragi roti holige etc are few of the menus I could recollect .. lunch is also available for 45/- (self service). Coffee is just 9/- and I liked it. Parking is available. Dosa counter is crowded and one can see how the dosas are prepared .. I loved watching the dosa master preparing akki roti .. :) overall a nice place to have delicious food in this area.
