Ultimate perfectly spiced egg biriyani is served here. Theirs is a n unique one since eggs are cooked along with the rice and spices, unlike other places where they give one boiled eggs with biriyani rice.
Their chicken dry is just superb.
Biriyani is served with lime, onions, raitha and salaan.
To end the meal, they serve spicy garlic rasam. It's just yum.
The place is small but just great in hospitality and great food.
Come here if you wanna eat authentic good savji type food and not for the ambiance! The ambiance is really bad but they make up for that with their food! Try the Raja chicken and you will not be disappointed! There are some dishes you get only in the evening so make sure you go in the evening for dinner so you can have that! A budget friendly place with good food.The place is small and always crowded.Thr ambiance I would say is poor but people don't come here for ambiance.Its for the food taste.I had Masala chapathi,Mutton Keema gravy and plain biryani.With the biryani you also get a glass of Rasam.Well overall for the price that you pay the food is great.

Kollapuris from outside it looks old and different we have go and try food there had chicken biryani and chill chicken. Not bad in taste OK kOK u try it on emergency.

I've been going to this place since early 2000. I can say that the taste has not changed a bit. My usual fare here is plain biryani n a chicken starter.. While their kababs aren't the best in town, their chilly chicken n chicken fry is lip smacking. One of my favourite places in south Bangalore..
Definitely a boon for non vegetarians staying near Basavanagudi. Light on pocket, and we'll within reach, they provide you with homely non vegetarian dishes. The biryani, and chilli chicken is my standard order. Hot and flavorful, the typical Donne biryani style. Quantity is good, with good number of chicken pieces and flavorful rice. Value for money.

This was in list for very long time, so planned friends meet here for lunch we had mutton & chicken biryani, lemon chicken, kabab,and chops. Though mutton biryani was not upto my expectation, rest were good, lemon chicken was relishing.

Kollapuri's is reputed as being one of the vintage restaurants in Bangalore known for its nati (country) style non-vegetarian food. Nestled amidst the busy market of Gandhi Bazaar, although a small place, it never misses to catch ones eye due to the crowd standing outside and waiting for a seat to have the delicious food being served inside. It's a heaven for non-vegetarians and there are enough reviews to that effect.
On a slightly different note, I would like to make a special mention of the Egg Biryani served here. It is definitely the best Egg Biryani I have had. Boiled eggs are fried in a peppery masala and then the Biryani rice (mutton or chicken biryani RICE ONLY) put on top of it and served with two gravies (green and red) and riata. The masala from the eggs and biryani rice together give out a delicious flavour and distinct taste which is definitely a must try and not available anywhere else. This is a dish everyone must try on top of all the non-vegetarian dishes. The rasam which is complimentary after you finish your meal is also yummy. Make sure you go early to have Egg Biryani as they stop serving it as soon as the boiled eggs get over.
Well, I should mention that although it is a very popular restaurant, it has remained the same over years, both with respect to food and ambience. Don't expect much in terms of ambience or service, it is a very small place and overcrowding only adds to the congestion. The service is just about prompt due to crowd. Of late, they have also increased the prices.
That said, I would definitely overlook all these above drawbacks just to have the delicious and mouthwatering food served here, especially the Egg Biryani for me personally!! Like I already said, try it on top of all the non-vegetarian dishes available here, I'm sure you'll not be disappointed. Another option is you can always parcel or takeaway the food to avoid waiting.

Biryani and fry items are good and tasty. They serve egg biryani which is also good here. Fish fry also good but they are not serving now a days.
Kollapuri's is opposite new prashant hotel and one of the few non-veg options in the neighborhood. Very old hotel and cramped place allows around 30-40 people to be seated. Kitchen is right behind the seating area and you can see all the activity going around.
Opted for Mutton biryani as I was alone. It is pretty rustic and tasty. Can be tried!!

Probably the best non veg restaurant in Basavangudi. Their biryani rice with the various chicken/mutton dishes are mouth watering. After your meal you are served with a glass of hot rasam (complimentary)... If your nut fussy about the ambience, I would definitely recommend this place !!!

Service is average. Well cannot expect too much from this place as this place is under staffed. Hard for them to handle the crowd.

A smaller unit of the kollapuris in Jayanagar. The ambience is less suitable for families. They don't have a tandoor here, but I was craving for their tandoor chicken one day. So had their ever dependable chicken biryani. It is the same good taste. The infrastructure is pretty much like a standard military hotel. Consistency is their usp, don't expect etiquette , service etc... try for the food alone
Went here yesterday for lunch around 2:30PM. The place is not that big although they have extended seating behind. We had to wait for few mins before ending up sharing with couple of other people. We had mutton chops, mutton kheema balls, masala chapathi and biryani rice. Each food was delicious and finger licking. I can easily say I had one of the best lunch yesterday.

Kollapuris is one of the legendary non veg food joints in Basavangudi. The restaurant consists of few tables and chairs and looks unimpressive from outside. The food though tastes delicious. It's kind of a no frills joint for non veg lovers with good value for money.

The place is hidden in between a lot of shops and is stone's throw away from the infamous vidyarthi bhavan

As for the food, the pricing is honest and the flovours in the curry/shorba which they serve with the biryani takes you to another place! The egg biryani is real yum here..the chicken and mutton biryani is goid but you can get good chicken and mutton biryani elsewhere as well..what is really special here is the egg biryani where the egg is shallow fried a bit with chilli powder, garam masala powder and pepper powder, broken into pieces and added to the biryani at the bottom of the biryani. They give both green masala gravy n spicy red masala gravy along with rai ta and hot rasam as sides. You can ask for mutton or chicken side dishes as well, all are good. If you have to have one item,then it has to be the egg biryani.

Hmmm... Let me review on typical non vegetarian restaurant... Been here several times with friends... We will not get any veg dishes here... I am always having Masala chapathi when ever I go here, being a vegetarian I don't get anything... Very difficult to get a place here... As per my friends mutton dishes are very good and home made style... Quick service and value for money.

Another legendary restaurant that has never failed to satiate my need for authentic Savji style Maharashtrian cuisine.
I have visited this place a number of times in a span of over 12 years now, I have seen consistency in their preparation every single time.
It is certainly a small old place. Nevertheless, you can find family crowd or even ladies group loading themselves in here.
However, if you are too picky then takeaway is the option.
I strongly recommend to dine in as you can taste the wholesome flavour of the food when served first hand from their kitchen in their style.

This is one of my favorite places to have biryani and mutton chops.
If you are in South Bangalore you have to try the Gandhi Bazaar Kollapuri (there is one in Jayanagar 3rd block as well). This is a family run restaurant and have been serving from the small indian cafe / restaurant sort of place since years. This is a no nonsense food place with no silver linning on food or service. If you want something authentic (which today we have forgotten with fancy restaurants then this is the place. It is a 10 X 14 sqft place with two rows of table arrays and only two people serving all guests. Respose time is pretty quick and courteous (they will not give you a chance to eye other tables). As mentioned it is a Indian cafe so don't expect a very high hygiene standard (rated 4, however it is not offensive either). Must try the Biryanis, Kheema balls, chilly chicken (Andhra style) or Fish fry (Rawa fry).
Overall I would recommend this place.

Kollapuri's has been serving very good food from a very long time .the biryani here takes the 1st place amd other stuff like mutton keema ball , mutton chops, liver dry are one the classics from a long time. I never miss eating here whenever I have come to gandhinagar or basvangudi . The place is small but well maintained when compared to other restaurant as such. Price also is moderate , but I have never sat as soon I come to this restaurant from the time I have been coming here. This is one of the places I go to very often. There is a small seating area within which is not that clean. Wondering why I'm rating it 4 on 5 then? Solely based on the food I've eaten here!
Our common order is Plain Biriyani and the Mutton Kheema balls, either in gravy or dry. Either way, we are not let down as we are kheema lovers. Compared to places like Ranganna Military Hotel (the over hyped place ), this place is heaven if you're ordering the kheema. Quantity is not much though. One dish is sufficient enough for only one person.
However, I must say that most girls I know wouldn't be comfortable with the idea of going here. But I have seen women sitting inside with their families and having a meal as well. It's all about perception. Yet, it depends on one's comfort level as well. The guys who serve do not stare or make you uncomfortable, so I don't think it should be a problem as such.
Overall, if you're looking for a place that serves good non veg, you're okay with an ordinary ambiance and you don't want to burn a hole in your pocket, you have to try this place out!

Kollapuri’s is a small restaurant located at the entrance of Corporation Market building, bang on Gandhi Bazaar main road, opposite Prashanth’s .
Fragrance of a variety of flowers greets you on your way to the restaurant, but once you settle down and the food here smells even better than flowers.
Food tastes out of this world. This place was an instant hit with the group (with two of ‘em die-hard fans of it and I see why they vouch for it). Just that I never knew how food tasted here, hence never been here in all these years.
Mutton Kheema Balls Fry, Mutton Chops, Chapathi and Biryani have been the common items during both of my visits in less than two months’ time, besides others.
Mutton Kheema Balls Fry – a personal favourite is something I would swear by.
Sad that this place cannot accommodate more hungry souls at a time, but is not worse as Shivaji when it comes to getting crowded.
Now comes the most important factor, does food here cost a bomb?
No way, you eat like a pig and still end up spending less than Rs. 200/- per head while the same quantity (I would not compare quality) at equally well-known places costs at least 50% more.
The only reason Kollapuri’s misses out on that 5 is for its lack of space.
Will make more trips going further and intend to try Chicken Raja suggested by Depak. :-)
To be honest the hotel doesn't have a posh environment with those cliched fancy coloured lights hanging over you like every other hotel. Instead you will find kollapuri's a very down to earth place and what it lacks in ambience it makes up with its food. Their Biryani is yummy and the highlight of the menu is their chicken raja which is the best damn chicken item I have ever eaten in recent time. Kollapuris chicken raja has a unique taste that will make even the connoisseurs go "wow".
We dined at Kollapuri's Non Veg in Chamrajpet, Bangalore, and it was a delightful experience. The South Indian non-vegetarian menu offered a variety, including Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Chapati, Parota, Mutton Liver, Kabab, Chicken Lollipop, and more. The food was delicious, and the quick service lived up to their reputation. The ambiance was reasonable, and the prices were also quite reasonable. If you're in the area and craving tasty non-veg fare, Kollapuri's is worth a visit.

Authentic Cuisine - Kollapuri's offers a delightful selection of authentic maharashtrian sawji's cuisine, and it truly stands out. The flavors were rich, bold, and reminiscent of traditional home made recipes.
The Staff at restaurant were friendly, They were more than willing to offer recommendations and provide information about the dishes,
Kollapuri's provides excellent value for money. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.

Tailor made place for small group of friends to hangout for lunch/dinner. Been going to this place from past 2009 and they still maintain the same taste. Place is kinda dim and hygiene is okayish. But the food is too delicious you just can't resist it.
