Its a go to place for all odia people who love authenic odia dishes. Being one of them I decided to visit this place with my family on my brother's birthday.
Pros
Its a heavenly place for non veg lovers.
We had ordered handi mutton, prawn masala and rohu fish curry.
Cons
Little congested
The name of the restaurant is not doing justice to the dish dalma. The taste of Dalma was bland.
Overall experience was good
Heaven for odia people. Proper odia dishes you will get here. Fish thali is heaven here. I loved patra poda chingudi. All time favourite place of mine.
Go here for the taste of authentic home cooked food. Must try pakhala, Patra poda mansha and janhi rai. Dessert loves should definitely try chhenapoda. I am am Odia abd I go there for having odia food but non-odia people will definitely like the simple, non-spicy flavours.
If you are a Odia and craze for odia food then this is a must visit place. It is just normal and also family based restaurant. The price is very pocket friendly according to their food.We ordered Rice,Panner butter Masala and Alo Gobi curry. The dishes were well cooked and so delicious also the service was really good.
If u r an Odia and craves for odia food, this place is a must visit. This is not one of the fancy places, its just normal restaurant to have a decent meal. They serve various Thalis which is very pocket friendly and someone can have day to day basis. My personal fav is “chatu patrapoda” . I had been here multiple times and my father-in-law loves the food they serve.
It's a very decent place with humble and polite staff. The food literally takes you to the kitchens of Odisha coz the non veg is really good. I had ordered for a chicken kassa and rotis and the amount of spices and quantity of the dish had me licking my fingers. On top of that the authentic odia rasagulla 😍😍😍 I wish I could keep that coming on to my plate. A must try place I'd say. I was delighted that the place was open till 2300 on a rainy day as well.
Authentic odia dishes.. Feel like home ambience as.. Service is good.. Lots of odia food variety most exciting thing.. Odia sweets also available.. So you would be happy to have a full meal with deserts😊😊
Just one thing fish items need to be prepared more well like macha bhaja and doi macha and fish should be served fresh. Else this place is great one for odia food
Always my go to destination when I crave for authentic odia food . Please improve the rice kheer that is the only dish till date which sucks .
For a person who is from Odisha, this place’s a relief!! 😌🤤🤤 The food just makes you feel like you are home. I tried the dalma there, which is obviously Odisha’s special dish and it was amazing. 😍 Also, I would recommend to have the chattu poda there. It is one of our special dishes and they make it just wowwww. Ratings-
Food- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambience- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I regularly eat the mutton kosha /Curry from here. Can highly recommend to someone who's craving the odiya style mangsho kosha. I have eaten at 'Dalma' restaurants in Odisha, and the taste here is the same as you find there. The bamboo mutton is also recommended for the novelty of the dish.
Don't hesitate to head here for some good ol' finger licking odiya food.
Cant express the feeling- the Pokkhal thali was exceptionally good... the only thing I missed was the Bari Chura which was not a part of the thali .. the fries in the meal were nicely done and the chutney was superb... I look forward to coming here again for my summer lunches ..
We went there today. Food was fabulous. It’s easy on your pocket. And you will get some typical Odia food like chicken Patra poda (chicken wrapped in banana leaves and grilled), Panasa katha (raw jack fruit) tarkari (curry). It’s real good.
On the -ve side, service was really slow. One reason is because it’s Sunday and it was completely full. So on a weekend be prepared to wait for at least one hour before being served food. They should increase no. Of chefs and try to pre-prepare some items which are in demand.
Also parking would be a problem.
Finally it’s a basic restaurant serving typical Odia food. Any other option will be limited.
Having said this, I do visit it regularly and will definitely visit again.

Amazing place for Odia food lovers. Humble and very hygienic. Love this place. Hope they'll open more outlets in the city. Made me nostalgic about home food.
After a long time i had proper odia food...Pakhala with fish fry is always my favourite to have... Also tried their dalam which was pretty decent ..
I love there odia style chicken kasa and mutton...
I will always recommend to have prawn dalam for sure which was tasty.
We ended with a bowl of Kheer which reminded of my home.. sweet and tasty..
A big thumps up to the whole team who amazed us with good food and quality and reminded us about our home...
As we were too late and too hungry could able to take pics.. but i will visit again soon to have food here and take some nice pictures too
This is a great place to have odia food that satisfies your taste buds. From the staff to the cosy atmosphere along with good food, Dalma is a highly recommended place. The prices are way reasonable too. Had a great experience here. Will surely visit again.
The name Dalma is one of the well-known mix vegiterian dish of Odisha,Dalma restaurant is the best place to carve out for odia cuisine. If you are from Odisha and away from home and miss to have home food then drop in to Dalma and try out bhola bhekti besar, chicken thali, aloo kalara chips the perfect lunch to be grabbed.
I have been here a multiple times and have also recommended to my bengali and odia friends.. a must visit for all bengali and odia foodies..
If are from Odisha staying in Bangalore then it's a must visit restaurant it's a regional cuisine restaurant, I went with my a friend of mine , we just luved the food n the chicken curry was awesome
Love the food especially Pohala Fish besara, chicken kassa.Friendly staffs and one of the most Hygene restaurant I have ever seen. In love with this place.
The food served was hot,and the prawns were really succelent and aromatic so was the rotisserie everyone loved the food. The spices added were really good and this place is highly recommended.
Best place for Odia folks or anyone who wants to try Odia cuisine. I prefer Veg Thali on a regular basis. Mutton and Prawns are must to be tried. They have a special Non Veg menu in authentic Odia Style. Loved the place.
pure Odisha home made mutton.... it will remember ur mother cooked mutton curry.
The Kassa Mangsa was excellent - and the same goes for chhena poda.... what was a dampener was the chhaka tarkari ... it tasted like jalfrezi
Dalma is a restaurant chain, serving Odia cuisine. It derives its name from a popular odia dish, Dalma, made from dal and vegetables that contains chopped vegetables like green papaya, unripe banana, eggplant, pumpkin, gourd, etc. Odia cuisine is typically less oily and less spicy. Coming to this particular outlet, it carries the theme of Akshay Mohanty, a famous Odia singer. We ordered several dishes such as Dalma, patra poda chicken(exceptional in taste), aloo bhaja, chicken Kassa, Rice, pampad, potala tarakri and Chena Poda. The prices were unbelievably low and the quantity provided was reasonable. The service was quick, in spite of the restaurant being crowded. Would surely recommend all to try Odia Cuisine in Dalma! Bangalore Dalma
#Dalma#Odiacuisne
forgot to put salt in dalma
Taste is just like home made food
ordered fish curry ,it was 😋 .
This is my go to place when I really want to have some proper odia food. Do try the Dahi pakhala meal and Mutton Patara poda and you will also get to hear some good old odia songs which sone pe suhaaga 😊
Ordered kanika and dalma , which is an exquisite cuisine of Odisha. The smell of the sweet rice was mouth -watering and the dalma(mixed veg preparation) of Odisha was quite good.Happy dining all the time!!
Awesome food. I love 😍 this food.
Ambience: One word "Homely". Those classic oriya song/music gets you in the mood of food.
Food: Am pretty sure I ordered literally all the vegetarian dishes in the menu. I won't be able to pen all the dishes i ordered i will just put some star dishes:
Chattu patra poda:
Patra Poda was Smokey full of flavours and gives you a taste of that earthiness of burnt charcoal. It was sublime. Do try it with roti.
Besara:
What to say about this classic oriya dish. It made me feel like I was in puri temple having it in Ananda bajar. It was divine.
Nadia bara tarakari:
I tried this one for the 1st time and I have to say it had a very unique taste. Savoury yet with a tinge of sweetness Nd the coconut gave it a nice tropical feel.
Loved it to bits and pieces..at the end good food brings you a simple on your face and I was blushing all the time I was in there.
Everytime being here , feels back to home. Pure authentic odiya cuisines are available. I almost tried everything in the menu (veg only 😜).
I had besara (👍🏻) , chatu rai (👎🏻), dahi baigana(👍🏻❤️) , chatu patra poda ( i tried this for the first time and i loved it 👍🏻👍🏻) , chena tarkari(👍🏻), nadiya bara tarkari ( 👍🏻) , aloo kalara chips (👍🏻) , kheer(👍🏻). Thats all 🤪🤪
Ambience is not so good but at the end good food is all that matter 😇
had been a regular customer of Dalma. if you know which food to order, den LL definitely enjoy it.
Possibly the one and only place in Bangalore which not only serves good odia food but also provides an overall feel of Odisha. The moment you enter the restaurant you just forget you are in Bangalore. We had ordered chicken thali and jumbo prawn. The food was good and the service was decent too. The ambience was good with odia songs playing in the background.
Its a authentic odia food restaurant. . sply i went for dahi pakhala.. food just good...quality is changed from dalmas other outlate.. i went soo many time to bbsr outlet..i feel too much different between bbsr dalma and bangalore dalma. ...
service is ok..
So much oil in prawn curry.
A little bit more thick gravy will make it much better
It’s been a while that I wanted to visit this restaurant. Over a year to be precise. Thanks to my foodie friends who value their roots around Orissa I finally landed for lunch last Friday.
On the main road of 6th Block dotted with restaurants, you could easily miss this place as you wouldn’t notice the board of the restaurant on the left as you drive/ride focusing on the road (It’s a one way, and more often than not you find people riding against you on the opposite direction!).
Parking shouldn’t be a problem if you are familiar with the area. There is always a spot on one of the byroads.
Once you walk upstairs, a typical simple set of table, chairs makes the ambience. I found them clean and the large windows allows natural light.
I noticed the restaurant was dedicated to the famous Odiya singer Akshay Mohanty. It shows on their walls and the music playing in the background as you enjoy your meal.
We ordered Dalma Special Veg Thali, Mutton Thali, Sada Bhata (Steamed rice), Pohala Machha Besar (Fish curry rich in mustard flavors), Badi Chura (Sun dried/roasted lentil, garlic and chili crumble with fresh onions) and butter milk.
The veg thali was nice and flavorful except the Mix bhaji and greens were both cold and lacked salt. But the Jaggery flavored kheer that came with it was so delicious that I forgot the experience with the bhajis.
The mutton thali was terrific. The Mansa Kassa (mutton curry) by itself was good enough for the meal, but the Dalma (Oriya style Dal) was really nice and Badi Chura added the crunch and made the meal super delicious!
Both the meals were served with a freshly cut vegetables/salad. In all the three dishes I noticed the cucumber, tomato and onions were cut uniformly and each piece was fresh. In my opinion, to accomplish this isn’t easy even for some of the fine dining restaurants. I found this quite impressive!.
The Pohala Machha had very interesting mustard flavored gravy and the fish itself was cooked very well.
The butter milk was just right. Cold, a hint of tang, spice and salt to comfort on a hot afternoon.
The service was good. The restaurant was getting crowded and the staff were attentive. They are polite and courteous.
At rupees 1433 for two mutton meals, a veg meal and a fish meal along with the buttermilk and the sides, I found it absolutely value for money for a restaurant dedicated to a cuisine.
This was one of our very best oriya meals. We ordered full oriya chicken thali which had Rice pakhala too.We were really impressed by the service. The value was very good here overall.
Highly recommended.
Great taste and sufficient quantity! look forward to try other delicacies too
Dalma is a favourite place to visit on the weekend.
But we were disappointed today as there was a long wait.. There was no system to manage the crowd.. No token number was assigned to anyone in the waiting crowd.. if somebody is lucky can occupy a table for his family, that was horrible.
**{[Dalma staff should start calling out the names of the waiting customer n give preference to those who come first. It's a must for DALMA team.. You should not forget Kormangala has many options for us. Respect your customers time...Otherwise YOU might loose your customer base.]}**
Now coming to food review... After long wait when we got the table.. We forgot the waiting time anger.. ;) Patra poda chicken was great.. mati handi mutton kasa was out of the world. pohala macha besara taste was perfect. Chenna tarkari was also lip smacking..
For the quality of food you serve d
Dalma deserves to get 4 stars rating.. but if I have to rate your servicing skills it's 1- 1.5.... After today's experience..
Authentic odiya restaurant in Koramangala, their menu is well spread with odia cuisines. Staff is also polite and well behaved! Mutton kasa, Chenna Tarkari, Chungudi besara etc are a must try here!
Went for lunch with friends
Pros:
Pure odia cuisine
Light on stomach
Balanced use of oils
Everything tasted good
Cons:
Quantities good be a little more for 245 rs for a plate
The local Odisha cusines and food in Dalma, Koramangala branch has been tasty as ever. But the interiors and ambience has to be modified. The owner needs to take care of the decaying wall paints, Ceilings , Washrooms, paints, tables and chairs. Frequent change of staff, no supervision by Managers, using an old Dot Matrix printer. Even they couldn't give me a printed Bill. Plz invest money to get back the same image. Don't spoil the name of Dalma and its branches.
The reason people avoid coming here is due to the fact that the new Odisha Hotel in HSR is pulling all the crowd. Plz learn hotel management and how to preserve the culture and local delicacy of Odisha.
Food was nice and service was good. Not a big restaurant. We liked our time here.
3 stars only for the stuffiness in the place due to an open kitchen. Otherwise the taste was simple and value for money. The mutton was juicy and the roti was a good combination with it.
In Mushroom gravy the mustard paste should be cooked more. It tastes raw.
Otherwise The food was good.
This is an excellent odiya restaurant near forum mall. Food quantity is not much and also the price. Hence it makes easy to try different dishes. We tried fish, mutton and chicken with phulka. It was good experience. Overall bill around Rs 850 and 2 people were full till mouth. Taste is good, not much spicy. Very simple and tasteful.
Loved the authentic odia cuisine. The Mutton Kasha was awesome. Also the Patra Poda Mutton was mouth watering. A must visit plave to enjoy odia food. Price is average.
One of the best places to have odia cuisine
Mutton Jhola , Chingudi Patrapoda was 😍😍
We tried veg thali here which was tasty.specially the kheer.
Very good quality Odiya cuisine is available. Odiya cuisine is unlike any other. From the native region Odissa earlier known as Orissa of Eastern India bordering Bay of Bengal it is a coastal paradise and cuisine is full of tasty items of not just non-veg but also numerous veg items which will make people lick their fingers. In non veg the best items are fish, prawns, mutton, crab and chicken and in veg items are plenty. Name any vegetable and that will be there in the menu. Fried, Curry and boiled versions of vegetables make it just right. It can be had with Rice, Phulka and Puri.
The Veg Thali is awesome and so are several of the itemsof the menu. Definitely not to missed at all.
Ambience is good but the food is not upto the mark. You'd get better food in other odia restaurants around the city.
