This quaint little charming heritage bungalow has one of the lovely cafes of the city. It was a decade ago that I discovered this place through a friends recommendation. Their menu is simple and quintessentially malleshwaram. Makes for a great spot to sit there with filter coffee and pakodas on a pleasant evening. The place itself is small and occupies just a few seats which makes it for a wonderful place for a rendezvous.

Having stayed in Villa Pottipati three times before, while visiting projects in South India, my wife and I booked it for thee nights in April 2015. We were revisiting people whim we had met before. Villa Pottipati is best described as quaint, with a flavor of the British Raj, although it was the home of two Indian doctors before they went to USA. It is more of a guesthouse than a hotel, with a small, but very helpful staff. The food is cooked according to order, so requests for an evening meal must be made about two hours before. Both Western and Indian food are very good, although there is a limited menu. The rooms are comfortable, although each one is different. There is free wifi, although it is best to access it in the main foyer. The hotel is a quiet garden oasis in a very busy part of Bangalore. There is a swimming pool, although the water did not look as clean as it should have been.

Both my wedding and my sister's wedding was conducted here at Villa pottipati. Mrs. Nandini, Mr. Wilson and all of their staff was very welcoming and accommodative. They were in conversation with us for many days before as well as helped during the weddings. We were able to host over 200 people at a time at the venue. Beautiful, scenic and outdoors in the company of trees. The rooms are beautiful to stay in. An old house, very well maintained. They gave a swimming pool (which we didn't try on this occasion) which would be nice to relax in, but isn't big enough for a decent swim. Even though the Villa is located in the junction of two very busy roads in malleswaram, the noise isn't very apparent indoors. The trees and tall green fences keep most of it out.

Staff are brilliant. If you want a safe sample of India it's a great place to stay. Have used this over other hotels for the past 6 years.

An amazingly intricately architected house. Sad that it was brought down. Could definitely fit into a heritage building in Bangalore.
