The very first name which pops up in mind when one thinks about chats is Karnataka Bhel House! A historic place with tingling taste! The lack of seating is forgotten when one starts to eat their Sev Puri! Must visit place for everyone
For people who have been in Bangalore for a long time, this is one of the names that reminds of the best Bhel puri. The masala they use is very different and tasty.
This was the place which taught me to have the masala with Bhel puri which actually enhances the taste.
I keep going here for Bhel puri which is a must try.
Requires no introduction to these famous street foods.⠀ ⠀
Masala puri and Pani puri easily fills one's stomach and takes taste buds on a heavenly journey and no wonder it's a popular street snacks along India's length and breadth.⠀ ⠀
Karnataka bhel house being one of the oldest chat joints in Namma Bengaluru(Chamrajpet joint being the most popular), is a go-to place to satisfy your evening hunger. The place is usually crowded.⠀
Satisfaction guaranteed - bhel puri, masala puri, pani puri and pineapple ice-cream! Super quick service.
This is a very old place. Have been visiting it since childhood. I love the chaat here but it is a little spicy for my pallet. This is like that old Bengaluru style chaat.
Loved it... truly amazing..the bhel .. obviously is a must try... other dishes like the Masala Puri, sev Puri are very good..it's a must try for all Chaat lovers ..there are 3 branches of the bhel house..chamarajapete is the best one.... overall the experience was very, very good ..the staff are good as the reciprocate well ..
BEST CHAATS IN BANGALORE!
MUST HAVE
-PANI PURI
-MASALA PURI
-DAHI PURI
It is a little heavy on the pocket for chaats but definetly worth it...
Because the quality and hygiene of the food is good and is definitely tasty!

Once you have bhel puri here you won't like it anywhere else. The only place that can compete with kbh is cool corner. But you won't like it if you visit too often

A very old joint. After the renovation space is good. Always crowded.Love their Masala puri and pani poori. I find Paani very spicy. Prices are reasonable. Must try place.
This place has been legendary for chats for many years. Used to be a small shop on bull temple road chamrajpet. Now it's a well renovated bigger shop, hygienic with decent amenities. As a kid I used to find the bhel very spicy but now I just relish it.
I have never tried anything other than bhel puri as the quantity it quite good. They put this special red chutney which brings in the uniqueness in taste. The quality of ingredients used are top notch and the bhel puri topped with masala and green peas tasted even better. Sev puri, masala puri and pani puri are the other chat varieties on the menu. Now they even have ice cream, juices available. you get softee ice creams which is such a treat after eating the spicy Pani Puri. The prices are a bit higher compared to a street vendor but definitely worth the price you pay. Highly recommended.
Don't miss out on their sweet bhel Puri.
It's the best and worth the money
The softy is also excellent.
Try spicy bhel only if you're a Daredevil.
Karanataka Pani Puri House is what this place should be named as. The pani is well made. Other dishes are tasty too. Ironically, Bhel Puri is probably low on the rank list at this place.
As the name says, this place has been the best of places to have chats in chamarajpet.
This second generation run chat house is well know for the bhel puri, masala puri and pani puri
Must try: masala puri, pani puri, and bhel puri
#rajeshwrites
✴️They serve one of the best softees🍦 in the town.I just love their crispy wafer cone🤗
✴️I totally drool over themasala puri and Pani Puri of this place😋
✴️I personally didn't like their BHEL puri much
✴️Overall a good place to hangout with friends💞
Taste-4/5
Service-self service
Ambience-2/5
All the chat items are good. Best Masala Puri and bhel Puri in Bangalore. Crowded, but quick service. Must visit if you are in chamarajpet area.
One of the best place in Bangalore to have chats KBH. I have been visiting this place for more than 25yrs in Chamarajpet which is know for its chats. Chats taste the same til now the best place to have chats. They have masala puri which is my al time favourite and also sev puri. One can select from masala puri to dhahi puri and even softy Ice cream. For Bangaloreans it’s a must try place for chat lovers. They do have branch in Jayanagar
Great masala puri. In fact best in town. Less hyped but nice place for some authentic Karnataka chats. Masala puri being my all time favourite.
One of the good places to have chats in Bengaluru. They have only 5-6 varieties of chats that are favourite to bengalureans which are very good. A good place to try.
It’s a really nice place to go out to. The chaats served here are quite decent. For the price, the quantity and taste of the food is quite nice.
If you would like to try some Karnataka special Masala Puri, then this absolutely a must visit place. Im not too much of a fan of Bhel Puri but it was quite good.
Will keep going for more!!!
As the name suggests, the Bhel puris are mouth wateringly delicious. Unlike other chat shops, the Sev is not given as a topping but blended with the rest of the ingredients making it the most favourite item on menu.
Besides, the Pani puris are yum, clean and minty. The filling made of peas is a healthier option compared to the usual aloo filling.
Almost all items on the menu is delicious. The neighbouring vada pav store run by the same management serves fresh juices, vada pavs and other snacks.
Clean kitchen, delicious food and quick service make this place a regular among localities.
One of the best places to stop by for chat iteams. A little heavy on the pocket but the taste and the quantity is worth it. It also serves softy ice creams.
Try only Bhel.. other chats are below average. Bhel stands out n has very unique taste compared to other BHEL outlets..
Quality- 4.0
Taste- 3.5
Waiting Time- 4.0
Value for Money- 4.0
Ambience- 3.5
Serving some of the best chaats which taste very different from the usual Bombay or Delhi chaats, this place is definitely a must go. Housed in a new building now its always crowded.
I have been visiting this chat shop since a kid. Everytime I visit, they never disappoint me. The taste of each chat is unique and has remained the same over the years. They have changed the location but the quality of service and quantity of food is consistent. The location is aptly chosen for the new shop and people throng here as though it's a fair. Prices aren't high. Overall it's a treat for your tastebuds
The process of ordering and eating here is very streamlined, like the assembly line of a chaat factory.
You pay, you pick up your plate overflowing with the chaat of your choice(4 options), you eat, and you leave.
Wanna gossip with friends over a plate of chaat?
Not the place for it.
Wanna quietly sit and eat chaat by yourself?
Not the place for it.
Wanna be comfortable in any way while you enjoy your chaat?
Again, not the place for it.
You go here with a one track mind. And you leave with a belly full of chaat. It's always loud, crowded, hot, and if you stay in there longer than 5-10mins your eyes are going to start watering coz of the freshly cut onions.
Reasonably hygienic and reasonably priced.
They also have ice cream. In case you want some.
That's my totally unnecessary review of a pla@ce that absolutely does not need one.
EDIT: I never noticed this before because of how crowded the place usually is, but there are a couple of seats in the left corner. So you can sit and eat too. Yay.
Delicious is the first word that you say after having firstbite of any food item on the menu.
Located on the Uma Theater Road in Basavanagudi, this is a pure vegetarian place serving amazing food since years. Have their Bhel Puri, aloo dahi puri and Masla pure, you will not be disappointed at all.
Final Verdict -
Food - 3.5/5
Service - 4/5
Cleanliness - 4/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
I feel this place offers one of the best Bhelpuris in town. The other chats (on a very limited menu) are surprisingly mediocre. But if you are in the mood for a Bhelpuri, KBH is worth a trip.
Though the road is quite busy, one often finds space to park the two-wheeler (forget about stationing a car in the front) close-by and walk in. As many have indicated, there is very limited seating and just a couple of steel tables to keep the plates. But there is enough space to stand around and eat comfortably without getting your elbow knocked around. The prices are a bit high but the Bhelpuri is worth it. The cleanliness is quite satisfactory.
What impresses me is the very efficient service and their assembly line setup contributes to this outstanding feature. There are at least 8 people in the service area who prep different dishes (except the Bhelpuri which is done from the scratch but with amazing quickness) and pre-pack some components for the parcel service. The longest I've had to wait was about 2 minutes (for the Bhelpuri).
This is another piece of Bangalore's gastronomical culture and I hope will continue to flourish for long.
One of the best places to eat chats in South bengaluru.... It's located right in the main road not very hard to find.... Jam packed in evenings though and there is no seating arrangements... So don't expect service or a place to seat ... Taste wise it's pretty good the highlight being masala puri and sev puri... Give this place a visit for nice evening chat...
One of the legendary outlets in Bangalore serving chats since ages... Almost all the items here are good... Quality going down day by day.... But must visit atleast once to taste the traditional way of chats...
Amazing Bhel, Pani, Sav, Masal Puri :D.... love the test..... Service is ok.. Ambience can be improved...... No comments on test, it's just wow....
Disappointment , it's just name which is making business, chats are OK.. they have only 4 items on menu and ice creams . I had only chats Pani poori was little disappointment.. other items were good but not excellent as it's propagated ..
Masala Puri is the star of the place!
Many other options available too.. including including ice cream. Need to stand & eat. Crowded place. Easy to find.
It's a nice little place on the main road. They're generally crowded. It's a self service and they don't have seating area.
They have really really good bhel puri, and really really really good softy Ice creams!
LEGENDS I must say, these guys are! Phewwwwww my dad has been visiting this place since he was teenager and he says the taste hasnt changed a bit, still yumm and rocking as ever
Great job guys!
After much delay I finally took time to visit this place. I found it much hyped than what it really has to offer. Going by the name I choose to eat Bhel Puri and was not satisfied much. The cherry on the cake was the softy corner which was eventually what I enjoyed.
If you are looking for spicy chats the best place to be is Karnataka Bhel House, Chamarajpet.Though bit more crowded, its worth waiting. Chats here are spicy and the taste lingers in your mouth for quite a while and the prices are reasonable
Food : 4/5
Hygiene : 5/5
Ambience : 4/5
Fast service , clean premises ! Their bhel puris are unique ! The other chats are normal in taste compared to other places in Bangalore !
The place is for chats, small puri with curds and some spicy masala 😋😋dhai puri was so good, and bhel puri was a bit spicy for me,rather than that everything was good...
Although as per the name, I expected a lot from their bhel. The bhel we ordered was very okayish. I loved their Dahi Aloo Puri though. It was the best I've had in Bangalore till now.
Bhel house doesnt mean only bhel it has bhel puri, masala puri, pani puri which i had ordered for....i found that the quantity here is more and this outlet maintains cleanliness....😊
Staff here were active at 10:00pm
Here there is no problem of parking....but 4wheeler parking is a bit difficult....
My first memories of eating out is at KBH! When they were situated on the main road of Chamarajpet. Then it was a much smaller place. The best thing about this place is that the quality and quantity of food is maintained since then. I would frequent this place every weekend when I visited my granny's place which was a stone's throw away from this joint. My dad would take me and my bro here to eat a plate of Masala Puri (A chat specialty in Bengaluru). None can make it like him. My bro loves the Bhel puri which has a distinct taste. One thing that you will notice here is the quickness of service. You just utter your choice of chat and you will have it in your hands even before you finish saying that.
The place is clean and food yummy. My only suggestion would be to make this place a little bigger with seating arrangement
Must try: Masala Puri, Bhel puri, Sev puri
Food: 5
Service: 5
Ambience: 4
Highly recommended!! Bhel puri was awesome ! Must visit for chat lovers!😊 all recipes were good👌limited recipes available! Very clean and neatly maintained
I found myself waiting for a friend and what do I see? The Karnataka Bhel House on my right!! Lost no time lest I miss the chance. Had a masala puri and a dahi alu puri. I do not like sweet in my chat (yep people like me do exist) I like it spicy and make you sweat kind of chats.Anyways the dahi is always kept sweet so I had no choice in that. However the masala puri was absolutely mind blowing and they made it to my perfection at least. Call the fire engine please !!
One thing was too much sev in their chaats. Maybe next time I will ask them to kep it less as it tends to dilute the chat taste
Visited here one evening, the service is outstanding! They are well staffed and very very quick on your order. This is the biggest Karnataka bhel house I've seen here. They have 5 chats on their menu, ice cream and softy. Their chats are average good. Certainly not the best, but yes they are a brand in chats!
Ice creams didn't interest me here but their softy did. N man-o-man thats the best softy ive had in ages! The cream was thick and nice! The flavour could improve but considering the lack of softy machines these days , this was worth 30rupees! Specially cause they serve it in a waffle cone which was still very crispy.
Visiting this place again for sure for the softy!
I must say the place lives up to its name (Karnataka Bhel House) . The bhel puri here is a must try. It is completely a South Indian version of the chaat with right mix of flavours. It sure does hit the right spot. Bhel puri is tangy and has the perfect blend of spice and sweet, which surprisingly tasted excellent.
Reading the other reviews about their excellent masala puri, I gave it a try too. Nothing outstanding here. Just another typical chaat.
The bhel puri does stand out and I plan to visit again for this.
Some delicious, hot, Bangalore-style chaats are always a good idea on dreary evenings as these.
Apart from the obvious recommendation being bhel puri, what's better is their famous Masala puri and not-so-famous pani puri & sev puri.
The place is generally crowded (good sign)
Service is quick, place is clean, masala puri was very good, bhel puri was okay-okay
Bit costly than streetside, but not exorbotent
THE place to have masala puri in Bangalore. This used to be a small place with 3-4 tables crammed inside. But now the place has been renovated, although I have not visited since it acquired its new avatar. Masala puri is really yummy and gives you the typical street food taste. Bhel is good too. Not much choose in terms of menu. But whatever is available is tasty and easy on the pocket. New outlets have opened up (one in Jayanagar 2nd Blk and another in 7th Blk) so I don't visit this outlet anymore. The taste is pretty much the same everywhere - and that's absolutely delicious!
I used eat at this place which used to be much smaller 25 years ago. Then, it was a good place to eat. However now.....though it makes one of the best masala puri in Bangalore, I have a problem with one of the ingredients they add to the masala. TASTING POWDER aka MSG. I have not had this tested anywhere but I can feel it the moment I eat it. I hope I am wrong about this and hope someone clears the air. Happy eating
Obviously one of the best place to have chats.Usually I see only around 6-7 items but they are of great taste and quality.
Even though it seems crowded , the service will never be late.
Worth the cost...
Nice place to eat chats but the menu is limited there are hardly a handful of items if you're are just catching up for a evening snack this place is optimum.

I had been to this place after reading good reviews in zomato. I must say it didnt match my expectation but the masala puri i ordered was awesome. I would visit this place again very soon
Karnataka bhel house , everyone around that region know what this place is and the masala puri is the best I have had.Offlate the taste has come down a little bit but then its better then most of the places. It is must visit if you are going around chamarajpet in the evening wanting something yummy.
One of the best chaat places in Bangalore! I remember going to this place from my childhood... And it is yummy as ever.Fast service and friendly staff though it's a small and always crowded place.
Masala puri is a must try and also the Paani puri too... But do not expect it to taste like Gol gappa as here it is the typical green peas onion fill which tastes awesome though! If you are in Bengaluru and a foodie this should be on ur visit list so any time you are in the vicinity do drop by.
One of the oldest and famous chat place in Bangalore! I have been hearing and going to this place since childhood.
I love the masala puri and bhelpuri here, it's amazing! However the pani puri is not that great, you can't expect a typical North Indian Gol gappas.
Ambience:They have recently shifted to a new place in the same street.A welcome change since the old place was a little cramped.
Quality:The "BHEL" puri offered here is worth spending quality time just to indulge in mere deliciousness. It welcomes you into a dream world where no other food can ever get you into.Coming downhill from that,Masala puri is quite good.A bit too spicy for my taste.Pani puri however is spicy without sweet sauce.
Price:Cheap.I don't know why but the restaurants I visit and worth writing a review have always not been expensive.
Final verdict:You can definitely have fun here.If at all you wanted a place where comfort is first priority, this is not a place for you.I definitely recommend to come here at least once while in Bangalore.Chou!
Karnataka Bhel House has been in Chamarajpet area since a long time. A small overcrowded outlet a couple of years ago but an amazing, renovated, big outlet now. The crowd has not come down though!
KBH is an ideal place for an evening snack that excites your taste buds. I love masale puri and pani puri majorly here. Dahi puri is also out of the world with sweet dahi and imli chutney on the outside and hot mashed potato on the inside. Sev puri and Bhel puri have helped me mellow down the hot and spicy taste of masale puri. KBH has also been offering a wide range of ice-creams as well, but masale puri is still the hero.
VERDICT: A COLD EVENING IN KBH.... HEAVEN!
I knew this place from quite a long time but never had visited it. I visited it a few days back and ordered a masala puri, bhel puri and sev puri. The bhel puri was the best among the three, moist crunchy and flavorful, the masala puri and sev puri was good too when compared to other places, what i did not like was the masala puri was cold and it tastes best piping hot in this cool Bangalore weather. The prices are slightly higher and could be reduced to 30 rupees. Another thing is the cleanliness which is lacking and they need to give some importance since most people prefer a hygiene place.
Karnataka Bhel is a mixture of history along with touch of modern in it. It's one among the oldest shops u find in Bangalore, located in south part, chamrajpet. One of the best and true experience of good quality & tasty chats you will ever find. Must recommend place for foodies
Apart from making the best Bhel puri, another favourite here is their Masala puri. It's so spicy and tasty!
Its quite an old chaat joint and they have two more outlets I think, but this is the oldest and they undoubtedly make the best chaats! :)
They even have softie ice creams, so you can have that after some spicy and mouthwatering chaats.
Dhahi puri and Masala peanut mix was too good.. One of the best options for street for and chats... Must try for every bangaloreans.. 😀 this place is always crowded and only thing which I found bad here was the seating and accommodation for this crowd.. Always overflowing.. But worth a try
Another iconic place in Bangalore is the KBH. They recently shifted to a few blocks away from their old and small place to a better and bigger one. Famous for the chaats, this place offers the usual masala puri, pani puri, Dahi puri, bhel and sev puri. I have tried every dish here and the taste is exquisite. It's crowded most of the times but the service is damn quick.
There's another outlet in Chandra layout.
I visit this place whenever I get a chance.
Great chaats, friendly staff, good service and a legendary place.
Legendary place for the perfect chaat. Everything is pure epic and legend here. Price are jus perfect considering taste. Ambience is fine although there could have been more tables to stand and eat. Other than that it is a perfect place for chaats and whatever you order, trust me, it will not fail to amaze you.
It's one of the most famous places around for chats. They were in their old building until recently and now shifted to a bigger place. Masala puri or paani puri or their signature chat bhel I've tried many times and its not improved. I appreciate good food but honestly this isn't the best around basavanagudi. It's a brand name and also its not bad either so I'm staying with 3.5..if they improve it in days to come I'll definitely change my opinion. Would go if I find any changes in taste.
Wow, amazing Panipuri. Trust me, after checking around 10 outlets for panipuri, I can say this is the best place to have panipuri in Bangalore. Other than Panipuri, you can try bhelpuri also. I didn't like other dishes too much.
This is like the only chaat shop that comes to my mind when I think of Chaats. Been visiting this place since childhood. Suddenly got a thought of reviewing my favourite chaat place.
They have recently shifted to a bigger outlet. Taste is one thing that brings people here over and over again.
I have tried all the 5 Chaats that they have on their menu. The best is Masala Puri and the taste hasn't changed a bit in past 17-18 years that I have been eating here. I have tried many places and compared it with the taste in KBH but never satisfied. All other chaats are good enough to try once. A household name of South Bangalore.
I shall be partial to this place if I rate it as it has a lot of memories since childhood and would like to just leave it here.
Whenever I take a parcel, they make it really quick however huge the order is.
Over the years I have never got a wrong order or bad packaging.
Previously the aloo poori packaging was bad but they have improvised it and now giving it in a paper container.
To start North Indian might not like this place....as this place is totally bundled with local flavors. This place existing from a very long time so....it totally a well oiled chat center which give u delivery just u stand in front of the counter.
Taste is good for a local persons .but limited options...
They have ice cream center ..but its not to value for money
Overall you want a a piece of history (its one of the oldest in Bangalore) with some spicy local food right place to hit .
I have lived in chamrajpet before I shifted. And this was the place I'd go with my parents when i was a kid every time when we were in mood for some delicious chats. Just started as a small place, now they've grown big. Happy to see them go big :) staff is really friendly. Now they've also come up with their own ice cream brand, haven't tried. If you're in and around o chamrajpet, and in a mood for some chats, look no further!
UP will be proud that their creation is upheld with such dignity down south. The name says it.. it's a bhel house.. only 4-5 options on the menu.. I tried their bhel and pani puri. The bhel is light feels fresh and crisp and just perfect in texture and flavour. their pani puri is brilliant too. the water has great flavour and is always chilled making it a better experience. I will visit often cause this place is brilliant.
Recently shifted just 50 meters away next to bata showroom. Such a quick service . As name says it all . Need to try Bhel for sure .
Well you already know what they are good for, the best Masala Puri in Bengaluru. Great taste, unlike many other places in Bengaluru where you do get Masala Puri the Masala prepared here is a lot better, subtle in spice and thickness, the chaat levels are at the top. Puris are also crispy and the Shev rocks the dish nicely. Chopped Onions are absolutely essential in this dish and they enhance the taste and brings out the good from Masala Puri.
We also tried the Shev Puri, it’s good, they put sufficient Shev on the dish. They also top it with a red sweet chutney like which is good and tasty. Although I’ve had better Shev Puris but I won’t be complaining. They also put the Masala gravy on this one too, unlike Masala Puri the Puris here are not crushed.
Price of Masala Puri is around ₹60 and Shev is around ₹50.
Parking could be a challenge during day time, we visited later in the night around 9pm so we could get a spot nearby.
KBH known for its yummy bhel puri. Variety of chats available here. The prices are not in par with our street vendors but their taste & quality is commendable! Their famous bhel puri costs ₹65 which can suffice 2 people. You could order as by two bhel at their counter. The place gets crowded in the evenings. However, their service is quick & polite. A MUST TRY in Chamarajpet.👍🏻
The Sev Puri was absolutely worthy and the bhel Puri was not upto the mark.
The OG of Banaglore style chats.
Some may find this place to be hyped up but trust me it’s an emotion for any true Bangalorean.
Their Bhel puri, sev puri and masala puri are delicious and will make you visit again.
Awesome Chaats and Ice Creams. Very old establishment in Chamarajpet. They used to be in a smaller shop on the same street and few years ago moved to the new and big facility.
Great place for chats. Everything felt fresh and good quality.
Taste was good
Taste is very good must and should try don’t miss to have softy at the end vanila is really good
Very flavorful bangalore style Masala Puri (made me come back to have one more time just before boarding my flight) would not recommend Pani Puri instead would recommend just Pani.
A good place, neat and clean. Hygiene is maintained. Chaats taste is good, but there are better places considering the taste. Overall a good combination of cleanliness and taste. Masala puri is good
Over all it's a crowded fast food restaurant serving Indian chaats. Taste is good and service is quick. Pricing is economical too. Parking is along the roadside. Two wheeler is recommended if you are coming to the place to eat.
The best options to try I would recommend is dahi puri and their ice cream scoops, there is something so nice about their ice cream cones.
Must try All chaats item
Very hygienic and do maintain all covid precautions
Their timings start from 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm
Bhel is something very different and They mix The mixture with The help of a machine not with hands
You tried here
Masala Puri
Bhelpuri
Aalu dahi Puri
Sev puri
Panipuri
Nd icecream and soft drinks also available
An awesome place to taste all types of chats . All time busy place.
Hygienic , Clean & Tasty chats served here.
Many of the customers are decades old ppl. Well maintained taste from then till date. Everyones favourite let it be young or old.
Karnataka bhel house is very famous for its chats. The place is good, neat, and clean. Chaats taste is good nothing extraordinary. It doesn't taste like authentic North Indian chat. They also have a wide range of ice creams available. Their service is good and very fast. remains crowded at evening times and weekends. The location is good, and spacious with no parking issues. Price-wise they are ok as compared to city standards. Must-try items are their bhel, pani puri and sev puri.
