One of the best place for authentic MALABAR food.. Kerala meal and fish fry is really awesome..
Had an excellent meal here, on the 27th of July, 2019. I walked in pretty late, around 10:30pm, and asked if they were still taking orders. It was possibly the best Kerala thali I've had in the city. And I've sampled many a joint. The food was fresh, in fact it was piping hot, and each dish was made with care. You can tell the difference.

This place has the most amazing Kerala food at very reasonable prices. The veg stew and Malabar biryani are must tries. After each bite, we just kept telling each other how amazing the food is. The owner is also very warm and welcoming & ensures we have a great time along with great food. Their snacks are brilliant too. We fell in love with the place instantly and we are sure it is going to be our most sort after Kerala food place. Do give it a try
This place serves the best Mallu meal you will get in town. Itās simple, fresh and tastes like home food. Nothing is overly spicy or oily. Each time Iāve had the fish curry thali I just canāt stop eating. The place is cosy, service is quick and prices are extremely reasonable. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
The parota and chicken curry combination was bang on! Authentic flavours of Kerala!!
A very small outlet for authentic Kerala Food. A cool traditional decor. A casual joint for quick stop in and quick bites.
Food is really tasty. Options are quite good. A must place to be in if you like Kerala Food.
Food: 4 and 1/2 Stars
Pocket Pinch: 150-200 per head.
Location is very convenient, for public transport opposite HP petrol pump.
Overall a casual Kerala Joint with good quality food.
What an amazing time. Kind of food can't get better.
Having beef roast with kerala paratha all dipped in gravy makes it just kind of its own. Been with my ą¤®ą¤²ą¤Æą¤¾ą¤²ą„ friend. Wao experience. Must visit place
Erachi dry fry was too good

Visited malabar today decent ambience with reasonable pricing.
Ordered fish thali and mutton thali and were fully satisfied with food quality.keep up the good work š
I absolutely love Malabar. They have amazing service and the food is so good too. Their Appams, beef and fish preparations are absolutely delicious.
I ordered the following
1) Veg Kurma :- I kindaa say that they're master in it to perform a good dish in front of customers speciallying balance between veggies and masala but coconut dominated in the dish most of the time's whenever I take a bite of dish.
2) Kerala parotta:- No need to say it very soft n chuable not like other's and very thin layered parotta, I love to visit again there.
& very reasonable price.
This restaurant deserves a 5 star rating. First impression - The appealing look of the restaurant. Neat and well maintained & the food was super awesome.
Erachi fry is a must try and the Moru curry just reminds of home. In addition the price is very reasonable.
A pocket friendly - good food restaurant!
One of the best, reasonable restaurants to taste some authentic malabar delicacies. This modest joint at Jeevan Bheema nagar serves some of the best Malayali dishes that I have had the chance to have so far.
From a wide variety of fried fishes to chicken, beef, they serve some heavenly dishes over here.
The Erachi Biryani, Erachi Chilli Fry, Fish Biryani are the few that stands out.
Ambiance: Decent, but very neat and clean.
Staff: very friendly and hospitable
Food: Absolutely heavenly
ā¹ā¹ā¹: Reasonable
Must visit !!
Malabar, common name for mallu restaurants in Bangalore. Chosen for Malabari food cravings. But Kerala cuisines they charging lil high comparing other Kerala restaurants in surroundings. Old Malayalam songs where playing on the restaurant, Malayalam cinema posters and mallu celebrity clicks who are visited this outlet . I tried porotta , crispy n nice along with egg curry . But they should work on pricing. Rest all okey
Went on a wednesday at 11pm. This was one of the restaurants which was open late night and was close to my house so decided to try it. Chicken biryani was average but chicken fry was good.
This place is for authentic malayali dishes. Their variety of fish fry and curries are best to try with malayali meals. Also a restaurant for biriyani, beef and chinese items. I am frequent visitor for their authentic malayali meals.

Extremely tasty kili mean.. good Kerala food for affordable price. Paroto with Malabar fish curry and pomfret fry is highly recommended. Peace.
I had an interview some months ago. Not knowing this place well, I started to roam around after the interview ended. I wanted to have some hygienic food without burning a hole in my pocket.
As I explored the streets, my eyes fell on this small restaurant. Malabar - seemed a perfect choice for my hungry tummy.
I ordered fish curry with roti. Waiting time as well as price was reasonable. The restaurant walls were adorned with celebrity pictures - I couldn't tell if they were real or fake. But the place was clean & I liked it.
Food had that homely taste. Simple and healthy.
After returning, I didn't even remember the name of the restaurant but as luck would have it, I had to shift near this place after a few months. I saw the restaurant again one fine evening and remembered it all in a flash.
Nice work, Malabar!
A small, tidy & real yummy place. Their malabar fish curry & parota are simply awesome. Loved everything over there. Also, Its so economical.
Awesome joint for trying great Kerala food. Decent ambience and well priced with a great taste. The best thing is they keep it quite simple, hope they continue it the same way
I guess I visit this place too often because of the good food and service. Meals is the must try thing on the menu. The owner is good and so the staff as well. My personal favourite is chicken pepper !!
This is one of the few restaurants that have been around long on this road. Always was ok place for dropping in for a quick meal if fish curry is what you crave instantly. Veg meal is ok, fish dishes you can order on the side. Typical format of Kerala meal places that have small touches of Kerala in the dƩcor as well.
Very Economic.. I visit here often when I crave for kerala food.. It is near to my place.. Their natholi fry is to ask for..
Evening they have ripe banana fries that is famous in kerala.. I do visit evenings for a cup of tea with fried ripe banana/ada.
Best biryani I have come across in Bangalore( chicken and beef biryani). Appam stew, pathiri with impeccable beef roast. A satisfying and totally wallet friendly malabari experience for all hungry hogs..
Nice Kerala food. This place seems to have its own charm. Awesome Stew-Appam , Stew-Pepper Chicken & just Stew. Surprisingly economical. Courteous staff. Always enjoy eating here.
I been there for lunch due to my wife want taste the kerala food specially malabar briyani. We oreder k p with eggs masala and chicken briyani and fish fry sankara. good taste service was good. malabar star photos hang out looking nice I enjoy the briyani taste. its recommend to all. There serve the hot jeera water
Great ambience.... Pure malayallee restaurant... Great thali...!! Maybe a lil over priced but good food... And the ambiemce is really nice... A classic old themed restaurant...!! :)
Here's the thing about me - I don't like to eat biryani in all the places. Moreover, I was not excited about eating Kerala style biryani. But my MD convinced me to give it a try, and after some hesitation I said why not? So went to this small place with him and ordered a plate. When it came, it looked more like chicken curry with rice on top. However, once I started eating I had to concede to my MD that it was quite tasty. The kebabs were good too.
Have been going here for a long time.. Very Nice.. Value for Money.. Authentic Kerala Food.. Nice Ambience.. Can hear some very good Old Malayalam Songs..
Good tasty food . Affordable price .
Serves really fast .
Appam and meat roast are must try here . Have been there more than 4 times . Will visit again
The place is humble....the menu is humble...the prices are humble...the food is good accordingly. We went there to try out some karimeen pollichathu as suggested by our brother and yes it did come out well. It was wrapped in a banana leaf and the oil was real fish oil that further got merged into the onion and tomato julienne. It was good...trust me!Ā We also had some biryani and fish fry with kerala parotta. The fish fry was good but the pollichathu was anytime better.
The place is Ā a good choice for simple but tasty food and when one wants no more of thrill and frill in theĀ ambianceĀ of the restaurant.
My friend & I were in a mood for some Malayali food for lunch. This is a tiny place with middle class ambiance where you get no menu card to look at and the waiter comes to your table as soon as you sit. He comes with the typical fat writing pad and a pen. He tells us what all are there for lunch that day. I was thrilled to dine at this tiny eatery where they have photos of famous Malayalam movie actors & directors who have had a meal there.
I was deeply disappointed for they didn't have appam or idiyappam that time. I had Pathiri and Egg Masala. I expected the egg curry to be spicy, dark red in colour and nice, so I thought the one plate of pathiri which is 5 nos wouldn't suffice. But Egg Masala wasn't up to the mark. It was less spicy, watery, and light colour. The quantity of the dish was perfect to be shared by two people. The Pathiri was probably made much earlier in the morning and hence wasn't really soft and nice; it was soggy, and thicker than the authentic Malabar pathiri. My friend had Beef Biriyani which he said was not all that great. The quantity of the biriyani is just right for a hungry adult.
We felt good after the meal because it was very light on our pocket. Had this been the food that they served in a nicer restaurant, it could have been very disappointing. It's probably value for money. But I strongly feel that they can work on making the food more tasty. You can't really ask for better quality in a place like this. A proper, heavy meal for two could cost you only as much as a coffee date would cost you in CCD. This would be a good place for Malayali college goers who live on pocket money!
If you love to have your meal in peace, this is the right place. Food is tasty and feels homely. New to the city, I happened to see this place while traveling home after work one evening. I stopped my bike and stepped in to check the menu...bang, they had all my favorite Kerala specialties on the menu and at very reasonable pricing. Without a second thought, I sat down for dinner and enjoyed a sumptuous meal after a long time.
Must try:

I for sure will return to this place as it has amazing food and friendly atmosphere.
Homely food...Great seafood... This is the Place!..... My first dinner in Bangalore was here. And boy, I felt awesome. The place is little small and at the first glance, it might not appear fabulous...BUT THE FOOD HERE IS TRULY FINGER LICKING GOOD!
Come here for the sea food (especially the fries) and Kerala cuisine.
Dinner for two may cost around 450/-.
Being a big fan of seafood and meat, I adore this place to bits.
Their beef curry and egg curry is to die for! And the service is really quick, and food always fresh and searing hot. If only they ever decided to work on their plating a bit more - but then this is not your typical fine dining restaurant.
Did I mention their Appams and puttu are fabulous?
The place breathes Kerala!
Fresh, simple, tasty food that won't hurt your pocket.

Best place for authentic Kerala cuisine. (Locally mallu food) Limited menu (Idiyappam, appam, parotta, chapati, meals) and very quick service. Light on the pocket. The guy who takes orders wears a beach dress everytime you go and that is one of the highlights of this place :D

This is located next to CCD on the Jeevan Bhima Nagar main road. Some times I like to have a very light dinner. What better than a Kerala restaurant. Nothing beats Appam / Idiyappam and Kadala Curry. Light on stomach and very healthy option. I have been here twice or thrice. Kadala curry tasted great as a side for Appam. For Idiyappam I chose veg stew, but it was heavy on coconut oil. So next time I was back to my favourite kadala curry.Ā
There are some interesting photos on the wall. One I really liked was a photo of an astronaut waving his hand and who else but a mallu guy waving back. I am not sure about the non veg food here as I do not eat it. I would go back only for the appam/idiyappam and kadala curry.
Have been here for Onam Sadya this year. Sadya was reasonable and tasty, but payasams were a disappointment. Service was good, quick and prompt. All of the staffs were very courteous and helpful. Appreciate that how well they had managed the crowd as well. Some of the key items in the sadya was missing as well.
The best thing to try out in Malabar is kappa and beef, if you a foodie and like to check into spicy stuff this is the best available in bangalore, there are many other same cuisine restaurants but when ever a customer is in Malabar. They get a chance to enjoy the taste, goodwill and the way they make us fell is most priced. Will always love this hotel
on the eve of Vishu, decided to try something else.
Stepped in to this Quiet - calm joint in JeevanBima Nagar.
Nice - cosy - calm place.
no. of people serving there might be less - but pretty efficient.
We ordered for Ghee rice - Squid fry - Prawn curry.
slightly spicy for me - but that is how I guess it should be - so no complaints.
Nice place to go for a quiet dinner - in budget price.
While stepping out .. there was a warm smile with which the person at the counter at the entrance nodded at us.
Felt nice about this gesture too.
The best kerala food that you can get in banglore. A must try hotel. The taste of each and every food item is finger licking good. Porotta, beef, chilli Gobi, chicken curry Kappa is a must try. At last finish it with a Sulaimani!
No frills but clean malayalee restaurant. Nice place for a meal with family. Had the veg meal with fish fry and fish curry. They were just terrific and we couldn't have enough of it. Only downside was that the rice wasn't hot but slightly cold. Otherwise, it was an excellent meal and will definitely go back there again!
We had the opportunity to savour the taste of this wonderful restaurant. The taste and quality of food was amazing. We had the beef ,chicken biriyani and chicken curry regardless of age from kids to elders all of us enjoyed the food equally. The spice levels were just right and flavors well balanced.
I recently visited this place to try their fish meals which costed me 140 plus gst, the curry was ok ok and i tried their aiyla meen fry it was amazingš and at last I tried mousse it was the highlight.
Good place to dine in for Kerala food in Bangalore . Parking a problem for car . Weekends it will be a bit crowded . Good food . Rates for the dishes are ok . Not high nor low . Sometimes all the options are not available and dishes gets over . Fish curry was good . Also nadan chicken curry was also good . Overall itās a good place . A little congested at times .
"Food was yummy but the service and atmosphere needs to be upgraded"
Budget friendly hotel which serves Kerala food. Located Jeevan Bhima nagar main road

It never fails to impress me with their authentic Kerala style and my favourite is their idiyappam and beef curry š¤§š
Good tasty food and value for money š Thank you
Here is the honest truth: this is my new favorite place to eat now! And no one can change my mind.
After a long, tiring and stressful day of work, we decided that it was time to treat ourselves and go out for dinner.
So we headed to Malabar.
Let me walk you through our experience:
As soon as we got in, we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who handed us the menu with a warm smile.
We sat down and we're going through the menu when another gentleman came up to us asking us if we were ready to order, mind you I don't know any Malayalam, but my fiancĆØ is a Malayali, and we asked for meals (note: Meals are only available at lunch), so we decided to go for Beef roast, Kerala parota, squid fry and two lime juices (all of which was recommended by the gentleman taking our order) and what a meal we had! Personally, I could not stop eating, but I got full - naturally the food went to my fiancĆØ š„² - he is still in love with it.
We have decided to go back to Malabar every chance that we get and take his parents with us.
All in all, a lovely meal, wonderful people and such a cute ambiance š
Simply loved it!
You should go too!
A small, old & cosy restaurant serving authentic Kerala cuisine. Have tried their veg meals & mackerel fish curry & a few non-veg items.
A clean & hygenically maintained restaurant, with some South Indian ( mostly Tamil/Malayalam) music playing in the background.
Had Malabar chicken dry. It was obviously dry, but super tasty. Wouldn't recommend to someone with a heart condition.
One of the best Kerala restaurants in Bangalore I've been to.
Great food and taste.
My only gripe is they are not available in Swiggy/Zomato
Went there to have Puttu and Kadala. The quality of food was good. Their service was very good.
Decent place to try out kerala cuisine...must try the prawns pepper fry if you like to taste the prawns meat š¤¤.
Definitely take the chai...I enjoyed every sip.
One of the best Kerala restaurant around Indira Nagar. You enter the restaurant and you immediately feel like you are up for authentic Kerala food. The photos in the restaurant show that it is a pretty famous place and celebrities have visited. I have tried parotta, appam, egg curry, stew. It wasn't just my stomach, my heart too was filled!
