The food isn't quite "Iyer" but it is hot, fresh and consistently good. The food is served on a banana leaf and consists of rice, two vegetables, sambhar, rasam, curd, rice, pickle and pappadam. All this for Rs. 65/-!! Chapathi, vada/bajji and payasam are available at extra cost. While the rice quantity is fixed (there is an option of half rice), they serve the rest on demand. They rotate the vegetables from day to day so that people who eat there every day have something new to look forward to. The sambhar is excellent - it is probably my most favorite thing there but some can find it a little spicy. The rasam is basic. Every Wednesday they serve majjige huli instead of sambhar and boy is it good! I have seen patrons finishing their entire portion of rice with just majjige huli. The payasam (paruppu or dal payasam on the occasions I asked for it) is another brilliant item they serve. The servers are quick and efficient. The restaurant itself is a little crowded - 3 rooms packed with chairs and tables with just elbow room for patrons. However, it's not a place you come to spend time and enjoy a leisurely meal. It's a place where you can eat a healthy, hygienic and tasty meal quickly. Highly recommended!
