If you want a taste of every bit of India , you should go here.. innovative flavours of paan, rose , nalen gur ice creams will take you down memory lane and back to places from your childhood memories.. it's a small quaint shop, but underrated if you ask me.. people should go here more often .. if you like experimental flavours and trying something new, this place could trump all others..

It was a pleasant surprise when I found pabrai's stall at Manpho convention center during durga puja. I tried their nalen gurer ice cream. Those who know about this Bengali jaggery, know how wonderful it tastes. And they have captured its flavour wonderfully. It has bits and pieces of nalen gurer sondesh and tastes heavenly with a bit of jaggery spread on top of it. A must try.

I had been wanting to visit this place for over a year now and finally did today! Had the most amazing icecreams. The Nalen gur was nice and so was the seeta phal. But my favorite here is the Paan, you will love it if you enjoy sweet paan. The place burns a hole in your pocket so will only go there occasionally.

You have to try the Nalen Gur ice-cream served here! If you are a nalen gur (made from date palm) fan like me, this would be the best icecream you'll ever have in your life (and I don't even like icecream!). Remember the delicious Bengali dessert sondesh? Yes, they have bits and pieces of that in there too. Basically, it's heaven. I don't know what all the fuss is about Natural's tender coconut when this exists :P

And to add to it all, the place has a cute seating space. But go there for this icecream!

Loved the flavours ! I like the lemongrass, Gandharaj Lemon and Nalen Gur. Nalen Gur is supposed to the most famous flavour made by date palm jaggery supposedly available only in west bengal ( I wonder why, though). The Gandharaj Lemon had a subtle lemony flavour and I loved that it was green instead of the usual yellow. The lemongrass is a flavour not usually available in ice creams and I’m gonna order this one next time around.

My 19 month old baby also tried 6-7 flavours and loved it ! The guy at the counter was super friendly and polite. The seating is not much to boast about and you can’t really spend too much time aittinf around. It’s best to order, take it out and take a stroll with it or finish and scoot !

Oh Pabrai !! Am in love with u. Haha. Well I'm a die hard fan of pure and natural stuff and this place nails it. Amazing ice creams. Being from the east & that too kolkata they really know the flavours right. Nolen gur ice cream is a sure shot winner. Each ice cream is a story in itself and takes you back to a pure and unadulterated world of taste . A special mention for gondhoraj, tender coconut , mix berry ,sugar free range and falsa...

Our visit to Pabrai's happened by chance and it was a pleasant surprise. We tried most of the flavours, everything tasted absolutely delicious. Our favs were the Rose, Cinnamon(tasted just like CHURROS), and Nalen Gur(made with date palms).

We also bought chandan ice cream... definitely a first!!! It was very different.

A nice place and innovative flavours.

Apart from your usual fruit flavoured ice creams, Pabrai's offers some really interesting flavours like nulen gur, sandalwood (yes, sandalwood!), rose, orange & basil etc. Needless to say, their ice creams are all a 100% natural and unlike many ice cream parlors who make a similar claim, the freshness in taste of their icecreams vouch for it. We especially recommend trying the nulen gur and sandalwood flavours, for their flavour profile & novelty respectively.

Spotted this place after a business meet. This tiny parlour had a whole new set of flavours that I had never imagined of ! All the ice creams here are sugar free and use natural ingredients. I tried the Apple pie as this would be a tough one to prepare, to my surprise it was brilliant, very nice flavour, pretty good texture, had the right amount of sweetness. Im not a fan of coffee but someone who likes coffee should try the filter coffee flavour.
Overall, this is a great place to try new ice cream flavours, simple and utterly delicious !

Went to pabrai's after college hours , to give this place a try.
And I cant thank my friend Nikitha Jhawar enough for taking me here.
Loved the variety of ice creams they serve and also the way it tasted ( now this is coming from a person, who really isn't fond of ice creams)
We tried their paan flavour Ice cream and the cheese candied fruits , both of which tasted very good.
Their flavours are quiet unique and not the regulars you get everywhere.
The place is a bit pricy compared to naturals and other ice cream parlours , but nonetheless it really has a great variety to choose from.

I think this place has some fantastic ice creams. The service is excellent and the team here really helps out in selecting flavours by providing as many samples as one asks for. Very friendly staff and courteous. Now coming to the ice creams - absolutely excellent and very tasty. The options are amazing and they also have sugar free options. Very hygienic place and lovely experience. Was there with family and everyone loved the experience. Highly recommended and will be back soon. Hope the place was bigger but who cares - the ice cream and the staff is awesome.

Must try the kesari rabri malai, rose sandesh, paan and naren gur.

Keep it up team Pabrai.

Pabarai's - we found this place by accident, on wood street, off Brigade Road. We were looking for an ice cream place and finding a natural ice cream place was a bonus. We decided to stop by and check it out.

This small, unassuming place whips up some amazing flavours! We tried the lemongrass, apple pie, orange and basil and black sesame ice creams. The lemongrass was a perfect mix of a strong lemongrass flavour,a slight bitter mixed with the right amount of sweet. The apple pie was delicious with the flavour of stewed apples and crumb and the pie crust coming through in one scoop of ice cream.
The hint of basil in the orange and basil was a great twist to a regular orange ice cream. But the most favourite has to be the black sesame.

A great great find and I'm sure to recommend this to friends and family and also visit more often. A big shout out to Venu - the very helpful guy behind the ice cream counter who patiently answered all our questions and served us with a big smile.

Pabrai's fresh and naturelle ice cream aims at serving the most authentic and unique flavours of ice cream to please the patrons. Almost every flavour you try here will be different from the other and is bound to leave you awestruck. Pabrai's is a brand that originated from Kolkata and now has spread across various cities and is loved by people who prefer natural flavoured ice creams. Tucked away in the lane of castle street, Pabrai's is a tiny joint with limited seating arrangements but with unlimited ways to satisfy sweet cravings! A couple of bloggers through #FBABMeetUp gathered together to try out some ice creams and also understand the whole concept of the natural ice creams, they use only fresh ingredients for all their ice creams and they are all natural. No kind of artificial flavouring or colours are used.
We tried almost all the flavours so let me give a brief about them. First up we tried the classic vanilla, it was very different from the usual ones we have, this was creamy and had a strong hint of vanilla and one can feel the vanilla pods in the mouth also. Then we tried a couple of chocolate flavours which were chocolate chip, hazelnut and chocolate brownie. My favourite will be the hazelnut, thick and creamy with a strong hazelnut essence and bits! We tried rose Sandesh, gondhoraj lemon, kulfi mawa, alphanso mango, litchi, mascarpone cheese n fruits, Chandan, Apple pie, Lemongrass and the best and most loved one Nolen gur ice cream.
Being a Bengali, I'm a sucker for nolen gur and this ice cream is mindblowing! It's served with a drizzle of the authentic nolen gur on top and it tastes so good! The Bengalis will love gondhoraj lebu as well because the flavour is pure and authentic. I loved the apple pie and the lemon grass ice cream too. The apple pie ice cream had a hint of cinnamon and tasted like a pie would, so close! And the Chandan and mascarpone cheese were great as well. The litchi I wouldn't recommend, they also had filter coffee flavour which again was awesome. Another flavour I loved was the Orange and basil, a beautiful combination of citrus with A dash of freshness! A few more that I tried were anjeer, Paan ice cream, musk melon and tender coconut. No complaints about any of them as they were all amazing with 100% natural ingredients that was reflected in the wonderful Taste!
We were lucky enough to be able to try a few exotic flavours which are yet to be launched. They were wasabi, green tea, 5 spice and truffle ice creams. The wasabi was a surprise and had spicy ness infused in a beautiful way. The 5 spice was like a sweet garam Masala inside my mouth! Quite unique but not my pick! Salted caramel, ginger honey and Orange chocolate were again a set of flavours wee got to try before it launches officially. Must say, they tasted divine! Ginger honey is my favourite among this lot, I loved how the flavours blend in together and give a nice refreshing taste that one cannot ever experience in normal ice creams.
Pricing is around 80rupees per scoop and it goes up depending on the flavours. Slightly pricey but worth a try because you'll be stunned by the options and the combinations, they are super unique and taste fresh and natural as the name says. Id only recommend them to improce the seating arrangements and maybe start with fresh milkshakes and sundae options too!Excellent experience and I'm going back soon to buy a few gallons of them. Cheers :)

I was invited by #FBAB. This brand is from Kolkata its 7+ yrs old, it has three outlets in Bengaluru (wood street, hsr & btm). They have seating inside & outside with AC. Its a small outlet with nice ambiance & friendly staff. The owner explained us about the ingredients & spices used, of the wide range of ice-creams we tasted. The USP of Pabrai's is they dont use artificial flavors & colors in there ice-creams.

My top three were:

1.Pabrai's Nalen Gur

2.Paan Ice cream

3.Coffee Ice cream

Am in love with these ice-creams! Ice-creams lovers visit soon :-)

Loved these awesome ice creams from Pabrai's Fresh & Naturelle. The one to the right is Gondhoraj and the left is Nalen Gur. The middle one is the delicious Orange-Basil. All these flavours are fantastic including the Lemon Grass (not in the picture). Besides, they have few options in sugar free as well.

Pabrai's is a chain of outlets specialising in desserts- ice creams. Currently they have marked their presence in HSR, BTM and Brigade road (Near Nimisserie).

I was invited here by FBAB for a tasting session. They have close to 6-70 flavors in their arsenal. To begin with, Pabrai's takes pride in serving 100% natural ice creams, by this I mean they don't use any sort of artificial ingredients in fruit and non fruit range. The concept here is that you can order a cone, scoop and even family packs, you can also buy gallons on special request.

We had almost 30 flavors to taste and here is my view about most of them, we started off with:

Basic flavous - Natural Vanilla, Tender Coconut, Alphonso Mango, Muskmelon and Litchi.. Alphonso mango is seasonal and you wont be able to get your hands on it during off seasons. Litchi was slightly dull but that is how the fruit is, this has similar taste as that of vanilla but the secondary flavor is overpowered by that of Litchi.

Next up we had some very interesting flavours - Sandalwood, Rose, Orange & Basil, South Indian Coffee and Mascarpone Cheese.. Out of which Mascarpone Cheese was my favourite. South Indian Coffee is a strong and as fresh as it can get, it uses frozen coffee. Orange & Basil ises a variant of Basil called Ram Tulsi and Nagpur Oranges, all of this indeed goes on to show that their claim of being 100% natural is correct.

Chocolate lovers are going to have a galla time as there are so many combinations to choose from - some of them what I remember is, Chocolate with Hazelnut, Choco chip, Chocolate Brownie, Simple Chocolate and Chocolate with Vanilla.

The surprise elements I came across here are - Kolkatta Meetha Paan and Nolen Gur flavours. Paan ice cream uses actual betel leaves, the most hard worked flavor in their array.

Overall, this is one place where the presentation of ice creams is given a second preference and more importance is stressed on the flavors and taste, after all this is what we all eat ice cream for. This is a highly recommended place to try out some new flavors which are usually not available elsewhere.

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAMS" ..haha..:P

Oh yes! I did start off my review with that sentence! :D

Ice creams can be had any time of the day , 24*7 . There are few joints which can impress me with their ice creams and one of them is Pabrai's. We recently had an opportunity to visit one of their outlets at Woodstreet. This outlet is approximately 200mts from Nimisserie.  The outlet is small with few tables that can occupy approximately 10-12 people. Their ice creams are prepared in Kolkata and delivered to different parts of the country. They are one of the brands which serves fully natural ice creams without any preservatives or artificial flavours. All of their fruit flavours have fruit pieces infused in the ice cream. They also have Sugar Free variants of some of the flavours.

We tried a lot of their flavours and they were nice enough to let us taste most of them. Samplers are given in a small wooden spoons. Based on that, we ordered single scoop of most of the ice creams. I personally loved the Anjeer, Mascarpone Cheese and Candied fruits, Alphonso Mango and Lychee. Mascarpone cheese with candied fruits was unanimously decided as the best among all the flavours!. We also had Filter coffee, Tender coconut, Chocolate Vanilla, Rose, Orange and Basil, Muskmelon and Paan flavours. Most of these were good. Paan flavour was so different. You close your eyes and take a bite and it actually feels like you are eating a meetha paan.. However tender coconut and lychee were a little disappointing. I have had better ice creams in these flavours elsewhere.

They have three different flavours in chocolate. Chocolate hazelnut, Chocolate brownie and Choco chips. Personally, the hazelnut chocolate was the best among them.

They also have Sandalwood flavour which was quite unique with a prominent taste of sandalwood. My first time having this ever! Do give it a try :)

We also tried some of their signature flavours which only Pabrai's is know for. We tried Five Spices, Wasabi, Strawberry and balsamic vinegar & GingerHoney. Very unique flavours. These are only available on pre order.

There were three new flavours which were not yet released in the market. They were experimenting with these and we got the chance to try them. They were Orange Chocolate , Salted caramel and White truffle. Orange chocolate was a brilliant combination and I am sure it will please most of the people. Salted caramel was average but the surprise was white truffle. Although it was on the expensive side, the taste of this was good. Not sure if any of these three will be made available to public.

This is what I love about Pabrai's. They experiment and come out with some unique and out of the box flavours. If you want to try some good ice creams and some unique flavours then this place is a must visit.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy Ice Cream, which is almost same. We recently visited this tiny & elegant ice cream joint in Wood Street, Off Brigade Road. The joint can accommodate 10 to 12 people with few couple tables. The Joint is neat & well maintained! We tried more varieties of Ice Creams because of our larger group. Well, for the first time, I liked every Ice Cream without any complaint. Out of all, I extremely loved with Cheese Mascarpone, Rose, Alphanso, Filter Coffee, Kesar Pista, Chocolate, Anjeer and Orange. In Exotic range, I fell in love with Chocolate Orange and truffle Ice Cream - These two were insanely good. I would like to appreciate the patience of the staffs. This is a small ice cream joint off brigade road. The place serves a lot of different type of ice creams which are very uncommon in flavour. They claim to use best quality ingredients and the texture of the ice cream is very different from other places that you eat.

The star of this place is the nolen gur. It's a special type of jaggery found in West Bengal. The flavour is brilliant and you long for more. It comes drizzled with the nolen gur itself. It's subtle and you crave for more. The texture is creamy and you just can't stop.
The other flavour which is liked is the south Indian coffee which has a strong flavor. We had the gondo raj lebu ( kaffer lime)ice cream which is again is very light and refreshing. The paan flavour is good but I found it a little over powering.

A different way to look at ice cream flavours when you go here....it's different and I loved it. Will be back to have some more....

Came across this icecream place at Ulsoor lake durga puja. They had that trademark "nalen gur" icecream for sale there - a bengali speciality. IIRC, it was being sold at 100 bucks a scoop. Not a deal breaker during the festival time. And I knew of only one other place that serves similar ice cream - Oh Calcutta.

So kept their card for the day when I'd go check out the other flavours they have on sale. Usually at the festival food stalls, the items are sometimes priced double / triple of what they normally cost at their store - in order to recover their stall expenses. Thinking it to be similar case here, thought maybe I could score some nalen gur ice cream for cheap. Went with expectation of 50-55 rs for the icecream scoop.

Was surprised that it sold at close to 100 rs at the store as well. So out went my dream of having a few scoops. :( Had only two of nalen gur and one anjeer.

To be frank, the outlet is quite small. Not much space to sit. Nor do you have any parking space - so better park in castle street and walk.

Other than that, the flavours weren't that great to write home about. I mean Natural's and thancos serve similar flavours at almost half the price. Granted, nalen gur is their special item and rare in Bangalore; but what about the rest of the flavours.

Anyway, Oh Calcutta still remains the only choice for nalen gur ice cream for me. This place is worth a visit if you live nearby.

Edit - 4.5 stars. For their sweet outlet in my native city. And guess what I had :D

Chemical free ice cream. I didnt feel thirsty after ingesting it, may be it was the chemical that was missing. I hope they continue their service without compromising on quality ie 100% natural no chemical. But I really wonder though how could one make ice creams without chemical. Anyways no complaints. Hope to revisit soon when I get a chance. Pabrai the name needs a little getting used to.

Visit this place for some of the most unusual flavors of ice cream - from black sesame to orange & basil, jaggery, chandan, lemongrass and many more! The Jaggery (with the delicious molten jaggery on top) and lemongrass flavors were my personal favorites. They have a lot of spice based flavors as well such as cinnamon, all spice, wasabi etc., unfortunately they weren't there when I visited. Would love to go back and try all their flavours. The ice cream texture could have been creamier and less grainy, but the taste more than makes up for it!

Heaven on earth is probably used for places like this. It is a quaint little place on the sides of Brigade, I have passed by this place multiple times and have never noticed it until I stopped by there a couple of weeks back. Boy, they have ice cream flavours which I have never heard of forget tasting them. Orange & Basil, Chandan (made of actual sandal oil), Mascarpone cheese & Candied fruits, Paan (the meetha paan replica), South Indian Coffee (I have had this haagen Dazs. The taste is comparably excellent at 1/3rd the price), Gur flavor (made out of palm jiggery). The icing on the cake for me was their Rose flavor – unbelievably flavorful and so much full of life which is made from authentic rose petals. I almost was tempted to buy the family pack but the chap at the counter advised me that it would not last for more than 30 mins. I am sure to recommend this to all my sweet tooth colleagues and bring in family over the weekend.

A must visit place if you are an ice cream lover.

Going by the name, this place has entirely natural flavoured ice creams.

If anybody's bored of the conventional ice cream flavours then this place is worth a visit. So many natural flavours like South Indian filter coffee, sandalwood, rose, paan and of course their signature nalen gur ( date palm ) served with a swirl of jaggery syrup.

I take away a box of it almost every weekend now. Love this place.

Two words come to mind when describing the best flavor on offer at Pabrai's - Nolen Gur. For a Bengali  from Calcutta there probably isn't any single flavor that reminds them of home more than Nolen Gur.

Pabrai's, as it turns out, have mastered the flavor and packaged it well. I am so in love with this flavor that I haven't had the time to eat anything else. I did try their pricey mascarpone cheese flavor and like that too. The paan flavor is spot on as well, something I was able to taste thanks to the courteous staff.

Pabrai's can definitely give Natural's a run for their money with their flavor offerings.

Mind blowing Nalen gur. It is really unique and awesome ice cream ever had. Other flavours are also good here. Must try Nalen gur, paan ice cream. I'm kind of addicted to it now. Visited HSR 27th Main outlet also. Brigade outlet keeps all the flavours (scoop as well as family pack). HSR outlet some times lacks family packs of some flavours.

Parbai’s Fresh offers a lot of exotic and unique flavors. As always there was a dilemma with too many options, but the gentleman at the service counter was kind enough to offer several samples. The fruit based flavors were rich and natural in taste. Tried the Nalen Gur as well and finally we got the Paan and Rose flavors. Enjoyed the taste and kudos to the great service!

This is indeed one of the world's best Ice creams.
Best ones:
1. Nalen Gur
2. Kesar Rabri Malai
3. Shahi Kesar Pista

Of course all of Chocolate Ice creams.
Toffee ice cream is good, but not that great.

Would I visit again?
Brigade Road outlet is very good, people are friendly and many times have suggested a flavor because everything there is good and it turns out that I like that.
If I have to have Ice cream I prefer Fresh and Naturalle Ice creams.

I love the ice creams here. Some of the flavors here are mind blowing.

My favorites:
1. Nalen Gur
2. Meetha Pan
3. Sandalwood - yes, I quite liked it.

I just feel that the price is a little steep as compared to the size of the ice cream scoop that they serve.

One more classy addition to Bangalore’s list of Ice Cream joints. Naturally made unique flavours, has to be the USP of Pabrai’s. It’s a Calcutta based joint which is whipping up some stunning stuff.

Pabrai’s is just a small shop with a dining area for about a 3-4 people. It’s more of a take away place. The staff know their flavours and readily give you a taste of the many flavours present at this place. Hygiene is definitely up to the mark.

Their signature flavour is the Pabrai’s Nalen Gur (the photo with the Jaggery dripping down). A Date Palm based flavour which is quite unique, I must add. Another classic which I relished was the Paan flavoured one. You could literally taste the bits of Magai and it’s something you wouldn't want to miss if you are a Paan lover. The Lemon Grass flavour was nice and subtle, with that bit of the expected spike at the end. The Orange and Basil flavour dint really do the trick for me. The other classics such as Anjeer struck the right notes and helped satisfy that ice cream craving. They have a quite a lot of other interesting flavours like South Indian Coffee, Chocolate Macadamia, Strawberry Balsamic, Masala Tea, Apple Pie etc. For the ones who would want to avoid sugar in their ice cream, they have a few sugar free options as well. You could either choose from the cup or the waffle cone option. It definitely tasted better off the waffle cone. Add 10 bucks if you want the waffle cone.

Cool ice cream Joint for Frozen desserts , Pabrai's Fresh and Naturelle Icecreams is known for some exotic and fresh natural ice creams flavours.
Available in two variants , namely the scoop and the family pack , their menu of ice creams is treat to eat. I visited this place n the recommendation of my Bong friends from Kolkata for the Bengali Ice cream flavor .

And it was worth a visit, as their "Nalen Gurer" ice-cream turned out to be a super star in their menu. The taste was simply bong Mishti-ful :) .Khub Bhalo Lagche

My hesartiest congratulations and Kudos to them for developing such a authentic Bong Ice cream flavour.

My Rating for Pabrai's Fresh and Naturelle Icecreams :Food 4/5Place 4/5Service 4/5Recommended 1) their "Nalen Gurer" ice-cream 2) their exotic natural ice creams

I would love to visit them time and again.

So it was a usual Sunday evening we thought of going to have some ice-cream. Corner house,Lakeview etc were few of the choices we hovered over. However my friend wanted to go to someplace quite and less traffic. Looked through zomato just found out that my favorite "Nalen Gurer" ice-cream(It is basically jaggery which quite famous in Bengali sweets). So I persuaded my friend to go along with me. Though it is near by the Brigade road the street was quiet. The place is small with few seating arrangements, neat and clean. We were hovering through the menu(though I knew what to order ;) ) My friend wanted to have Kesaria malai rabri ice-cream. What I got to know "Prabrai's" speciality is "Nalen Gurer" ice-cream and the taste was simply sinful. It is way better than what you get in some of the famous Bengali Restaurants paying more price. Surely a must place visit to those who want to have the authentic Bengali "Nalen Gurer" ice-cream.

Pabrai's is a small ice cream parlour on wood street. I've been having their ice cream from past few months . The main reason being they have different and unique flavours . Flavours like South Indian Filter coffee , lemon grass and nalen gur ( date palm jaggery) are my favorites and are a must try here .

If you are bored of having the conventional ice cream flavours . This is the place you gotta try .

Hope they get more flavours !!!

The ice cream here is so fresh and delicious. They have 25+ different flavours to choose from including sugar free varieties. The flavours are rich and natural. My personal favourite is the lemongrass flavour and of course a south indian coffee flavoured ice cream scoop is welcome anytime ?

Would like to see more sundae options though, other than the conventional chocolate fudge sundae

My mom wanted to try the ice cream in Pabrai as it's very close to her work and she devours fruit based ice creams very quickly. I had the chocolate brownie ice cream, ever fond of chocolate, but it tasted average. The cocoa content could be higher though the ice cream itself was very heavy. I guess their claims about using whole milk are true. Mum had the fig and orange and basil flavours. The orange basil one had a very interesting taste and I liked it. The fig was what I had expected; a nice crunch of seeds in every spoon. The South Indian coffee was the best of all. It was very authentic with not too much sugar.
The only disappointment was the waffle cone. It was wrong on many counts. It was too thick and crunchy and too sweet. Not fun at all. It took away from the experience. I would visit the place to try out more flavours sans the cone!

Good flavours & variety, but maybe a tad overpriced for the portions served per scoop. The Nalen Gur flavour is their signature, and is absolutely fabulous, with a drizzle of the syrup made of the gur on top! The paan flavour is also amazing - like a Calcutta paan has been blitzed with cream & frozen. Only reason for not rating it a full 5 is the price.

they have a wide variety of ice creams and some surprising flavors like lemongrass, wasabi, five spice etc. which i haven't seen before. their nolen gur ice cream is the only reason i rode 10 kms to try and i must say it was totally worth the hype. their other flavors like paan ice cream, sitaphal, tender coconut are great too. wish they had a better seating arrangement either indoor or outdoor as you dont get a sense of privacy while relishing their ice creams...highly recommended.

It is located bang on wood street.. they specialise in the ever popular Bengal icecream ie Nolengur icecream with liquid gur on top of it.. the icecreams are really good.there are other unique flavours also like paan and lemongrass. Pricing is a bit high compared to the quantity but tastevis really good.

I walked into Pabrai's yesterday after my husband wouldn't stop raving about it since his last visit there. For those who don't know, this is an innovative ice cream brand from Kolkatta and has three outlets already in Bangalore. Maybe they haven't made much noise about their brand but their work speaks for them.

I played safe by having the Tender Coconut ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I tasted the Pan ice cream and the Gulkand flavored Rose ice cream. They were truly delicious but yes, made for the ones who love Paan altogether!

What amused me is how they were silently whipping out these awesome recipes and keeping it alive in different cities! They are inventors of the Date Palm Jaggery ice cream a.k.a Pabrai's Nolen Gur flavor and it is still unparalleled. As I am very fond of experimental recipes and the courage to bringing them to public, I give these guys an applaud and recommend them to anyone passing them by.

Keep it up Pabrai's.

When man made ice cream he had not thought of Pabrai's. The iceream here are smthng one never had.  Leave aside the price this place absolutely rocks The NALEN GUR iceream with khejur ras is just yu cant stop having. Its actually frozen nalen gur sandesh and cold heaven in a cup. But Beware if yu spot a Bong staring at yer cup with it just scoot, he can have murderous tendencies for one scoop.

Pabrai's on Wood Street is one of those hidden gems. A very interesting little ice-cream parlour with a very ebullient gentleman behind the counter. What you should go here for is their incredibly inventive natural flavours.

The ice-cream itself is a little denser than I like and has an odd, grainy texture that I couldn't quite understand. That said, the flavours here are truly fun. For a more conventional palate, I recommend their South Indian Coffee, Nalen Gur (Date Palm Jaggery), Caramel Crunch (very sweet) and Honey Dew Melon.

For a more experimental ride, try the Orange & Basil, Lemongrass, Paan and Sichuan Peppercorn.

If you really like their Nalen Gur, try it at Bhojohori Manna. For some reason, the matka version of this delightful ice-cream is creamier and richer.

I have become a fan of theirs after visiting their HSR outlet. The staff had suggested that I visit the Brigade Rd outlet for more choice and some truly exotic flavours. One of the very few times I have benefitted by listening to others....:-). I tried all the flavours which we hae not  heard of, Ginger Honey, Strawberry Balsamic, Choc Macadamia, Lemon Grass, etc. We settled in for a Strawberry Balsamic and my wife the run of the mill stuff, Tender Coconut. Lovely as usual, how I wish I was staying in this area...wud hav had to go for a bariatric surgery bcoz of the ice creams addiction....hehehe. I generally do not write reviews as I am too lazy for that...;-). In this case I found the staff quite enthu and met the owner as well who thoroughly loves what he does. So I decided to help them by reviewing both their outlets. Any ice cream lovers...simply DO NOT MISS IT. Forget all the desserts and sundaes you have at other places.

We stumbled upon this place by fluke. We had just finished lunch and wanted to go to a dessert bar to try out something sweet. It was a hot, sunny day and we chanced upon this ice cream parlour and what really lured us in was a delicious picture of coconut ice cream outside the shop:-p I am not at all into ice creams and my apprehension soon melted away as the friendly guy across the counter helped us with tasters of the most unique flavours. We sampled the orange cinnamon lemongrass and coconut flavors, all very good! There was a paan flavored ice-cream which almost tasted like chewing cold paan with bits and masala, et al. The friend ordered a couple of scoops of chocolate hazelnut and my heart settled on the nolen gurer ice-cream. The ice-cream is one of a kind, incredibly delicious and topped with the real stuff! They even do home delivery and have family sized tubs. I know what to serve for dessert when I am hosting friends!:-)

Pabrais has some absolutely exotic and unusual ice creams. Flavors you never imagined could be provided in an ice cream form. The first time I went there,I had there Wasabi ice cream. I was just mind blown. Word. Since then I go atleast twice a month and try something new every time. Their most famous flavour is the nalen gur which they provide with a jaggery syrup. It something to definitely try.

Recently tried out the place; they have some great and unusual ice cream selections. They friendly counter server helped us choose our selection; we tried the green tea ice cream which was refreshing with a distinct flavour of brewed green tea: we also tried the strawberry balsamic; the bitter taste of balsamic along with the sweet taste of strawberries was usual yet delightful!!! We also tried the mocha fudge; again a real treat!!! Mind you these were all tasting portions. We finally settled for the Norein Gud Ice cream which is an ice cream flavoured with fresh jaggery flown in from West Bengal!!! This was simply superb!!!! I had this ice cream before at Oh Calcutta! However this one was a few notches better. We have also tried the banana crunch and the fig ice cream which also have a refreshing flavour and have the taste of fresh fruits.

They have really put a lot of thought into their ice cream flavours and I hope they maintain their consistency!!!!

I love ice creams and Fresh and Naturelle is one that stands apart from the rest of the natural ice creams you find in the city.
They have a variety of flavours which you wouldn't find elsewhere; the ones that really stand out in my mind are Star Anise, Strawberry and Balsamic, Mascarpone, South Indian Filter Coffee! , Nalen Gur (A Bengali icecream made out of a different type of jaggery) and my favourite, Lemongrass.

The Nalen Gur, the owners tell me, is something they created and now supply to a variety of star hotels and restaurants. Recently even Sachin tried it, when he was in Bangalore!

The Lemongrass icecream is the one thing I keep going back for. It's absolutely perfect, tastes exactly like the wild lemongrass we used to pluck when we were kids! The waffle cones that go with the icecreams are freshly mad every day behind the counter and are perfectly crisp and extremely tasty. I could eat just those cones alone!

The owners are very friendly and always chat with their customers :)

A scoop in a cone would cost anywhere from Rs. 60-100 depending on the flavours you're choosing. But definitely worth it for the flavours they have and the service they provide!
