Funky punjab offers some delicious starters. I ordered chicken kali mirch tikka which was so delicious. It was served in a sufficient quantity along with onion salad and green chutney. It was worth visiting there.
Funky Punjab offers some lipsmacking chicken malai tikka tossed in butter with a pinch of kali mirch to enhance its taste.
The chicken pieces were so tender that it just melts in my mouth and had a great balance of spices in it.
Looking for a place to have a tandoori chicken starter with Punjabi tadka in it, then go nowhere else as @funky.punjab comes to your rescue. Highly recommended from my side😊
Guys, this restaurant is a blessings for all Punjabis in Bangalore, especially in JP nagar area. The chef makes everything super amazing whether its veg or non veg. Recently I booked order for Chicken fry, I can't tell you, it took me back to my college days olwhen I was doing graduation from Chandigarh in year 2000.... what an amazing time it was !!! I am so grateful to Prince and Karan who I think are co founders of Funky Punjab and so approachable they customize your orders according to your need and give you special care and attention!!
Please do order special Chicken Champ for gravy , its a must try item!!
Guys, if you really want to enjoy the best chicken champ of the world, you order this chicken champ gravy cooked in desi ghee.... it is boneless and is cooked in traditional onion gravy as if cooked in Amritsar.
The portion is good for 2, but, i ate my complete order alone, it was lip smacking!!!
I am so glad after 1 year in Bangalore, I finally got such a great Punjabi non veg point.... i have promised the chef and boys working there, that i will come and give them a small gift 🎁 from my side when I meet them next!!!! :-)
If you wanna experience the perfect flavour of proper Punjabi cuisines, this place would surely satisfy you. The essence of this place takes one back to the desi vibes and the foood never fails to disappoint. This place is a all time go for me whenever I crave for Punjabi Foods. I'm forever fan of their Lassi be in any season.❤️
Swaad aagya. Pehli vaar amritsar ton bahr ja k kulcha khada a. Out of these past 5 years in Karnataka, 1st time I was so pleased with the breakfast.
The best authentic punjabi food in Bangalore. Going here since 5 years, every time I walk out with a happy stomach. Must try- Kulchas and Chapps.
Absolutely incredible place. One of my favorite places in Bangalore. Delicious food and very cheap. Nothing to write home about the ambience but I'd recommend the paneer kulcha and mushroom masala. Have anything really, it'll be brilliant (not sure about the chaaps, haven't tried them)
Hi Netizens of Bangalore,
Recently, after frequent invitation from my dear friend who stays in JP Nagar I had the chance of experiencing the food at "Funky Punjab" . First of all, the name is so catchy.
Had ordered the soyabean chap, amristari kulcha & lassi. Eating chap was my first experience & it was totally worth it, tastes brilliant. Amristari Kulcha was also a most genuine one which you can get in South India other than "Amristar"
Finally, time was to drink lassi, OH MY GOD!! Yummmm, thats how I felt in my first sip of it.
The place is very near (10 mins) from yelchanahalli metro station, advice foodies to go there definitely.
The best Kulchas in Bangalore. Ordered Gobi and Alu kulcha both were brilliant.
Good food and try the most important the service so good luck team service very important again best of luck and our team 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ambience is no that great But Very nice North Indian Food...Ambruthsari kulcha is excellent...Achari Thandoor mashroom dry was excellent... value for money 😊
As always I am craving for north Indian food so this place is my favorite
Awesome food they serve whatever you order . Small place but with big value
I love their rajmah combo, chole puri, and chowmin it's amazing
My happy place in JP nagar
Keep it up
Punjabi rocks
I loved the lassi. It was so good that I just wanted to sleep after having one glass. I tried the masala kulcha as well with Kadai Paneer and it was amazing. The Kulcha was well cooked and think. I also ordered garlic nan which was so good that I had to order more. Try the lassi. Trust me on that.
Excellent authentic vegetarian Punjabi fare. Quality and taste have been consistent for the last few years. My favourite Punjabi restaurant in J P Nagar Bangalore. Very reasonable prices. I recommend Paneer Tikka, Mushroom Masala, Veg Fried Rice as well as the sumptuous combos.
Must try if you are home sick and want to try some authentic North Indian food then this is your place. Kadai paneer, dal makhani, lassi and kulcha.
This place has one of the best North Indian punjabi foods in Bangalore. Period.
The taste of the food is very similar to what you would get in local Delhi. So if you're a fan of Delhi food you are going to love this place. They have amazing chaps. Their kulche and chhole are just perfect. Do visit them if you're a food lover.

Funky Punjab is one stop shop for Punjabi and North Indian food. Located on the 24th Main, JP Nagar you cannot miss this due to its colorful display. The ambiance is of a typical restaurant with simple chairs and tables. The menu here comprises of authentic Kulcha’s, North Indian appetizers and curries. Funky Punjab was one of the first outlet to introduce Soya Chaaps in its menu few years back. Here are some of the dishes we tried in our recent visit:
Amritsari Kulcha – Funky Punjab’s best sellers are their Amritsari Kulcha. What makes these Kulchas so unique is the multilayered bread stuffed with decent aloo masala inside. The kulcha comes with tamarind chutney, chola and a piece of butter. At Funky Punjab the Kulcha’s comes with whole spices on top which gives them extra taste. The taste is out of the world and this should be on everyone’s must have list.
Black Pepper Chaap - The order took 10mins but what came out of the kitchen was nothing less than amazing. The soya chaaps were covered in malai or cream with a decent spread of freshly grounded Black Pepper. The taste of it was mind blowing. The soya was so soft from inside that it just melted in the mouth and the black pepper gave it a slight kick. Please, please, please don’t miss it!
Lemon Chilly Paneer – This appetizer is a fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors. Huge chunks of paneer are tossed with chilies, capsicum and onions. What make this dish so unique was the lemon, light and tangy. The combo goes together so well.
Lassi / Hing ka Pani – While at Funky Punjab the lassi is not to be missed. A perfect coolant with malai on top. The lassi is exactly sweetened to give a balanced taste. Also try their Hing Ka Pani, which helps in digestion. It was sweet, tangy and spicy at the same time.
Paneer Tikka Masala – For the main course we had the Paneer Tikka Masala. You can taste all the tandoor smoke going into the Paneer. The tomato gravy was garlicy delicious and had capsicum and onions as well.
Dal Makhni – This is my personal favorite. The Dal Makhni is shimmered all night with whole spices with loads of cream and butter. What makes things even more interesting is the dollop of butter on top! Best to be tried with Naan and Laccha Paratha.
Dal Kichadi – A homely dish made with dal and rice. But at Funky Punjab the Dal Kichadi is everyone’s favorite and the reasons are very clear. The dal is shimmered with loads of garlic, tomato and basmati rice is added to it. The taste is fantastic.
The experience at Funky Punjab was just amazing as the prices are pocket friendly. Don’t miss on those extra calories from the Amritsari Kulcha and Soya Chaap, some of the rare finds in Bengaluru.
The Verdict:
Food/Taste – 8/10
Service - 8/10
Ambiance - 7/10
Value for Money – 8/10
Quantity/Quality – 8/10
Punjabi food at its absolute peak!
It's been 4 years we have been visiting this joint very regularly. You get good veg Punjabi and Chinese food here. Also recently they have added Amritsari kulcha section to it. This place has such warm dhaba vibes .
Best Aaloo kulcha and chole in Bangalore.
Must try place.
Ambience not much good but unmatchable taste.
Owner was very nice and warm person.
Had order 1 aaloo kulcha but ended up eating three.
Pure veg desi punjabi dhaba.
too good food , reminded me of North completely ❤️
Excellent service.. loved the kadai paneer and Pulao. very well made and served hot within the stipulated time. Rates are so cheap. Would definitely recommend Funky Punjab to many people.
One of the best chaps this place has got. We ordered achari chaap, paneer chilly, pindi chane and mushroom mattar. The last one was very sweet. Thus barring that we loved everything. . Great yummy home style food. Have been eating here from quite some time now :)
Their restaurant staff is also very courteous and cordial. My husband seems to have been buddies with him until I was told otherwise.. LoL.
tasty food Everytime favorite
good food with sufficient quantity
I ordered mushroom masala which was good than other restaurants. The taste wasn't that much but as per rate it was good.
The Vegetable Biriyani quantity was less
If you’re on a budget or need a place to eat out from everyday, Funky Punjab is the destination. The rice meals and the Jaljeera is my favourite. Quantity is decent keeping the price in mind here.
Rly it was good... i liked it.
The Roti was not bad but not so good too. Paneer Butter Masala however had a different texture than usual, very tasty and authentic Punjabi.
Paneer chilly was awesome
Decent food at a cheap price. Gobi paratha was good and so was the jaljira. Gobi manchurian taste needs to improve a bit. Paneer tikka tasted nice as well.
Excellent food . We tried sunday brunches with chole baturey, aloo paratha, gobi paratha. Absolute lipsmacking food dhaba style. The semi open seating makes you hungry more so if it's raining . The lunch and dinner have a variety of option on all days. My favourite us paneer butter masala, raada paneer and dal makhni. The paneer was so soft I don't remember anywhere in recent times. The butter naan and sweet lassi is extraordinary. Absolute best. Affordable. Can eat over any time any day. And it's so nice on the pocket. Thank you keep it up .
Revisited this place after a long thing. Last time when we visited, we didn't had good experience. But looks like things have changed here, most likely their cook.
Food was tasty. Best was daal that came with Roti combo. Quantity was very less but taste with tandoori roti was quite authentic.
Apart from that, Gobi Manchurian and paneer butter masala too were good.
Probably would visit again. BTW, rates are extremely reasonable
good with both quality and quantity.
This place is located right opposite to The Royal school , I ordered food from here to my house the deliver was pretty fast the paneer was not properly cooked in paneer manchurian , mushroom pepper dry was good and even noodles was pretty decent .
Food freshness-9/10
Food taste-8/10
Packing-7.5/10
Deliver speed-8/10
Good taste was good, only self service takes a bit of time after placing order but worth the wait. Don’t expect any ambience here.
The food is good here. Authentic amritsari food. I tried the kulcha and chole and a few starters.
You'll have to be patient in order to eat here because it takes a while for the food to get ready. Especially on weekends.
The real Amritsar Food is found here. Made my way here for a fantastic Amritsari Kulcha, Lassi and Soya Chap. Pind Da Khana!!
Amritsari Kulcha: Had a chance to taste this fantastic kulcha. The layers and stuffed Aloo inside the kulcha is the real magic. Desi Butter on top enhances the flavour. This stuffed kulcha could be one of the best in Bengaluru. The low tinge of Ajwain to the fantastic tandoor tossed Kulcha is a must try here. The authenticity lies in our city.
Soya Chap: I was really tired of Panner. To my surprise this Soya Chap turned out to be fantastic. Soya chunks were marinated with spices and thick yoghurt. The proportion of spice balance with Soya was perfectly balanced. This is again a must try here.
Sweet Lassi: Stored and refrigerated. Sweet Lassi who was humble and thick.
If you are looking for some authentic Pind Da Khana, this is one of the place.
Have a wonderful time.
Bon Appetit,
Ghatotkatcha
If you're craving authentic Punjabi food then this is THE place to go to. I'm a regular here ever since I discovered this place. The dal makhani is my favourite - creamy and smoky flavour, never had such flavourful dal makhani anywhere else (not even in a 5 star hotel). The kebabs are irresistible. Do try the egg chilli, it's wonderfully prepared. Prices are reasonable, seating is limited so make sure you're early for lunch.
It is a nice place with authentic Punjabi food...👌👌Now it has changed with new look n amazing ambience..
Must try their kulchas and non veg starters ..
Some people are writing bad reviews purposely but I didn't find any bad about this place so ignore them and visit...
Nicely renovated now... Amazing ambience with variety of delicacies.. n truly north food Indian restaurant... I have been visiting from many years same taste same staff.
Nice food. Very expensive. Lassi was awesome. I tried kulcha and cheese malai chaap. They serve non veg and veg dishes.
Soya chaap is all time favourite snacking and munching
Chaaps are soft and delicious ,chewy with creaminess in it is amazing .
Gobhi manchurian served hot and spicy ,loved the spices in it .
Funky punjab got the authentic punjabi cuisine
They serve awesome food, total authentic North Indian food and very light on pocket too.Must try for Punjabi food lovers. We tried dal makhani, paneer tikka masala, cheese kulcha and rabri everything was bang on.
I have been to Funky Punjab five times and have never been disappointed. The essence of Amritsari food in Bangalore, with a dash of atmosphere from the food-streets of Northern India!
The setup helps you transit to the’pinds’ of Amrtisar with the rustic graffiti on the walls, colorful props, ’whiskey and foodie’ quotes and heavy steel cutlery!
The service is average they have self service only due to shortage of Waiters, the place is always full during weekends. The food is good Punjabi fare with the right spice and heat levels.
The quirky food names will definitely catch your attention!Indian breads were quite good and lassi was mouth watering. Ahh, how can I forget about the thick and delicious raita:) This restaurant deserves one visit. Happy dining!
If u want to eat Amritsari Special stuff tandoori kulcha. Then this place is fantastic. All the cooks are hails from Amritsar. So the style of cooking & presentation is top of the world. They sprinkle Kasoori methi on to the kulcha. Please go for it. Funky Punjab restaurant team I would say Balle-2 Tusi chaa gye paji.
This place serves authentic punjabi cuisine and some Chinese as well
